They sat there and looked at each
other and then the next minute they were all laughing with the relief of
knowing why they are always hungry. They finished and went out of the dinning
hall and on to the main Dragon Deck. The storm was just about here as the
lighting played just out at sea.

They went over to the edge of the
building where there was an over hang that they could sit and not get wet. They
felt good with now not worrying about all the food they have been eating.

Maive looked at Angel and spoke.
‘How long are we going to be eating like this, you seen Gavrie’s plate he did
not have as much as us. I hope we are not different with us having dragons.
Because we use their magic with ours it might make us different in we keep
eating a lot more food all the time.’

‘I think we will settle down when
we are older and are able to control the magic and the energy that it uses. Our
bodies are young so hopefully we will settle when our magic settles in our
bodies. At lest I hope it does.’ He smiled at Maive as he said the last, he did
not want them worried and what she had just said was something we might have a
look at.

They sat there till the storm
broke over the school and the rain just fell in buckets. They made a dash for
the school and headed up to the Crystal Chamber were Gavrie was waiting for
them. They entered and he sat them down in the centre of the room.

Gavrie came and stood in the
centre of the circle and looked at Angel. ‘I am going to weave a spell around
you Angel, it will not hurt you but will show me how your magic is working in
your system. It is a way of seeing if the magic is flowing through all the
organs in your body. Now just remain calm and I will start.

Angel looked surprised as the
head wove the spell. The air around Angel started to move in a circle with
little bright stars floating around him. They started to enter his body and
Angel started to get up but Gavrie holds up his hand and indicated he remain
seated.

Angel could feel his body start
to shield him but it stopped almost as it started, his body could find no
threat in what was happening so Angel just sat there and let it happen. The
feeling he was getting was very strange not bad but just a strange sensation.
The stars had now all gone into his body and Gavrie watched as an aura appeared
around him.

The aura was a golden light in
colour and pulsed with the rhythm of his heart. Gavrie looked at him and nodded
his head as the glow got brighter and brighter. Soon they could not look at him
and the others were starting to get worried. Gavrie looked surprised as the
glow was now so bright they could not see Angel.

The look on Gavrie’s face was
starting to show worry when all of a sudden the bright glow suddenly stopped.
Angel was sitting like normal and looked at the expression on Gavrie’s face. He
could tell by that look what happened was not normal. Gavrie quickly looked
away at the others and composed himself before testing the others.

Gavrie tested Medwin next; he stood
in front of Medwin and wove the same spell again. This time the glow was there
and it was bright but not as bright as Angels, but it was still not normal. He
then tested Maive and Shylyn, finding them the same as Medwin but again not as
bright as Angel.

Angel looked at Gavrie and asked
him if everything was alright. ‘Were we supposed to be that bright; it was the
look on your face that told us something was not right? Are we ok’

Gavrie walked around the group
and pondered what he would tell them, should he tell the truth or something
else. He knew that what happened with them was not normal and that with Angel,
that was scary. Never before had any wizard or student produced a result like
that.

He would have to decide very
quickly, for they were starting to show fear of the results. They had seen his
face after what happened with Angel; it wasn’t bad it just showed their magic
was very strong for the spell to react that way. He must tell them for he has
seen they are different from other wizards.

‘The spell I wove was what I
first said it was, to see how your magic was working in your system. Let me
tell you what normally happens, the spell worked the right way with the little
stars going into your body. They will go into your magic system and see that it
is working through the whole body and not just part of.’ The four were all ears
as he told them of the spell. ‘There is supposed to be a glow around the body
and any part that the magic is not flowing through laves a dull patch. But what
happened with you four tells me your magic is flowing through every part of
your body and that your magic is very, very powerful.’

The four looked at Gavrie and
suddenly relaxed for it meant they where ok, just their magic was strong.
Gavrie could see the relief on their faces, he thought about telling them no
other wizard had ever had a result like that but he could see they were happy
with what he had just told them.

If he told them no one had ever
done that, it might put them off their magic and he did not want that to happen.
These four student wizards were different from any wizard ever born. They
shared their magic with each other and that has never happened before. He had
the feeling they were going to be the wining of this fight with the Renegades.
He was not going to stop them from finding their full potential.

He was a bit shaken with the
results so decided to let them off for the rest of the day. They ran from the
room and headed for their secret room, for they felt it was time to go and see
their dragons. There was a storm out there but their dragons would not mind and
they could sit in the dragons cave and talk about what Gavrie just told them.

They grabbed a couple of baskets
of food to take with them and headed down to their room. They called their
dragons to let them know they were on their way. They found their dragons on
the deck where they usually land. The storm was now in its full fury but the
dragons didn’t mind coming.

They produced the travelling
bubble to cover themselves and climbed on up on to their dragons. The dragons
had no trouble with the storm and did what they usually do and go down under
Nirvana and then back up on to their deck, heading straight for their cave.

They found the dragons cave had
been made very comfortable for them. The dragons had found a nice side cave
near the entrance to the cave and had found it warm. They had found some Fire
Crystal and placed it around the hot areas so they could heat up and keep it
warm.

Angel and the others sat in the
middle and started to tell their dragons of what Gavrie had done this morning.
‘We knew our magic was strong but the expression on Gavrie’s face told us he
had never seen it do that before. I think it picked up on the open link to your
magic and so made it very strong. We need to keep an eye on Gavrie or he will
become suspicious’

Aura spoke into their minds her
feelings of what happened. ‘We can feel the magic in you is very strong and
strongest of all in you Angel. You are the control power in our magic, you can
use our magic at will but we cannot use your magic, it is just too strong for
use to handle. I think you will find it the same with Medwin, Maive and Shylyn,
they will give you their magic channelling it through to you but would not be
able to use your magic if you tried to give it to them.’

Angel was about to deny it when
Medwin spoke. ‘Aura’s right Angel, I can feel the power of your magic the times
we lent you it when fixing the old spell holding the school to the rock face.
Angel we are here for you, our magic is to help you when it is needed. Sure we
are strong but our strength is in giving it to you to use when it is needed
most. I can feel it when we did the last time.’

‘Medwin’s right we are the poles
of your power and when you need it we give to you freely. It felt right when we
gave you our strength the other day. It felt right, I felt really good for this
is what our power is. We are your poles of power.’ Shylyn had a gleam in her
eye as she spoke of the feelings she got when her power flowed through to
Angel.

‘Come Angel you feel it when we
send it to you, that warm cosy feeling that comes with the giving. It’s right
and when we can fight individual like we did against the creatures but when
there is a real need we will give our magic to you for you to direct where
needed.’ Maive came over and gave Angel a hug as she finished talking.

‘Ok lets get off this subject and
talk about what is next, and I think that is going to be when the Renegade is
here next. We must feel and see the spell he is casting. Till then we have got
to keep working on our shields and thinking about what happens when we get
tired. If we end up fighting the Renegade and we get tired we will die. We
can’t let that happen ok?’ Angel was all fired up as he spoke for they had to
be ready and he knew it.

They practiced their shields and
as they did this Angel had an idea. ‘I just had a thought what if we combined
our shields into one big one that encircled all of us. Lets see if what you
were saying about me directing the magic from all of us, lets see if we can create
a large shield to protect us all.’

The others nodded their heads and
agreed they would try. They all gathered around Angel and gave their magic to
Angel. He let the magic flow through his body and then he let it flow through
Aura and then Medwin and WhiteMoon, then going to Shylyn and  WhiteStar
and the last of all out to Maive and WhiteFire.

The magic flowed through them all
and the shield formed around them all. The storm was in full fury with lighting
hitting the deck a lot of times. Angel got them all to walk out into the storm.
They went out with their dragons in single file and the shield never wavered
once.

Out on the Deck the storm tried
to blow them around but could not budge them. The lighting hit the shield that
many times but still could not penetrate it. The shield was now stronger than
when it was just around the individual. Angel tried a new idea and indicated to
Medwin that he walk back into the cave.

Medwin walked out of the shield
but found the shield peeled of from the main one and enveloped him as he walked
into the cave. Now he got them all to peel away from each other and once they
were apart, they found they still had a shield up around them and the lighting
could not penetrate it at all.

Angel got them to all to come
back together, he could not talk or yell at them for the thunder of the storm
drowned them out, but used Aura to talk with the other dragons. They all walked
back into a group and found the shield joined together as each one came back.

Angel indicated they go back
inside and once in there, sat in a circle with their dragons just behind them.
The dragons’ heads were placed just beside their riders. Angel had a big grin
on his face as he sat down, their shields no longer active.

‘Well that worked very well
indeed, with the combined magic the shields are a lot stronger and we can peel
of and still have the shield up and it’s from the combined shield. That is
another plus and something that will come in handy when we confront the
Renegade.’ They all agreed as Angel finished.

They sat there for a little while
before they realized it was lunch time, they also found after playing with
their shields they were very hungry. They sat there and ate while their dragons
watched.

‘Aura are you as hungry as us
after using magic, for we find we are eating all the time. Gavrie says it’s
normal so we were wondering if you get hungry as well?’ Carrying on eating.

'We get hungry but we feed every
four or five days so it will not affect us like you. But we still are eating a
lot more than is usual and I did ask Grandfather the last time we went and seen
him. He said the same it’s the magic and that it will settle down when our
magic has settled down.’ Aura finished and looked up at him as she finished
talking.

‘What are we going to do this
after noon; maybe we’ll look in the castle at this end and see what’s in there
if anything. What do you others think, worth a look, maybe we might find
something that will be handy for us?’ Medwin asked as he got up and walked
around, he was feeling just a little restless.

‘Ok let’s have a look but we must
be careful as we don’t know what the condition is like in there.’ Angel agreed
as he got up to join Medwin.

They all got up and told their dragons
they would not be long. They walked over to the cave mouth and Angel drew their
magic to him as they walked through the storm to the door to the castle. Their
shields protecting them as they went.

They opened the door and found it
very much resembled the school castle and so had an idea where things might be
found. There were tables and chairs in the entrance hall and they were still in
very good condition. Walking on into the meal hall or what was the meal hall in
their school they found that it was the same here.

Angel had and idea and headed up
to what would be the Crystal Chamber in their school. He wanted to see if there
was one here for if so they could practice with it here. Reaching the hall with
it on they came to the door that would lead them into the Crystal Chamber, but
they were just going to enter when Aura was in his mind.

‘The Renegade comes; his dragon
has just called us. He says there are no creatures this time and he has come
alone. The storm hides him so he came, and now the dragon tells us the last
time he was here he felt you get pulled from the spell. The Renegade does not
know who it was but he felt you get pulled Angel and he was not happy.’

‘We must be very careful from now
on, come on lets see what’s in this room and hope it is another Crystal
Chamber.’ Angel opened the door as he finished talking.

The room was another Crystal
Chamber but this one had a larger crystal in the centre. They all walked over
to it and Angel could feel that this crystal has been unused for centuries and
there was something different about it. Angel went up to the crystal and
touched it.
