Chapter 33 Jiselle

Before going into the room where Laci was in, I went to the bathroom first. Looking in the mirror, I had a couple of scratches on my face from when I got into it with Nazi. Nazi had gotten the best of me and I was glad that I didn’t end up with a black eye. I splashed some water on my face, trying to calm my nerves. I have never been scared of death; in my profession, there was no room to be scared to of death. However, having a knife to your throat could fuck any bitch up. I wiped my face using a towel that was hanging up. After making sure I looked straight, I went and knocked on the door.

“Gunz, I don’t want to talk to you right now!” she yelled.

“It’s not Gunz,” I smirked.

“I don’t want to talk to you either, bitch!”

I laughed before taking a bobby pin out my hair and picking the lock. I walked in, closing the door behind me.

“You’re just mighty bitch, aren’t you?” Laci sassed. “Is there anything that you can’t do?” She rolled her eyes, then continued looking out the window.

In Jinx’s guest room, he had a wall to ceiling window. I would sometimes come in here and sit in the rocker chair and just stare out the window the same way Laci was doing now.

“There are a couple of things I can’t do but I would never tell you what they are.” I sat on the bed across from her and just stared at her for a second.

“If you came here just to stare at me, then you can leave because I don’t swing that way.”

“Even if I did swing that way, trust me, you’re not my type.” I laughed but she didn’t. I sighed because I knew what I needed to do.

“Look, I just want to say thank you for what you did back there.” I swallowed my pride with that one because I never thanked anyone for anything.

“I didn’t do it for you,” she said, turning towards me.

“Either way, I still want to say thank you.”

“You want to know why I did it?” she asked.

“Not really but I’m sure you’re going to tell me.”

“I should’ve let your ass die because you are nothing but a bitch. Just a cold hearted bitch,” she spat.

“Oh, look at who is finally sticking up for herself. I think you should be saying thank you to me for giving you some confidence.”

“That’s where you need to pump your brakes, Jiselle. You may have taught me how to fight, shoot a gun, and throw knives, but you didn’t give me my confidence. Confidence isn’t something that can be given; it’s something that comes from within. If anyone can say they helped me FIND my confidence, it would be your brother. The only thing you helped me with was being able to beat your ass.”

I nodded my head at what she was saying because it was the truth. I taught Laci how to handle herself in a physical sense, but without confidence, what I taught her would go to waste. Confidence was everything when knowing how to defend yourself. You had to be confident in every move that you made because if your enemy sensed unsureness, then it would be your downfall.

“You’re right; I didn’t give you confidence. Now, tell me why you did it because everyone knows me and you aren’t the best of friends.”

“I did it because of your brother. I heard everything that was going on and I knew that no one else had their guns on them. I took it upon myself to kill the person you brought to the party because of your brother. If you would’ve died, your brother would be in an unbearable pain, which means I would’ve felt his pain.”

“You are really taking that we are one thing seriously huh?” I laughed.

“We are not taking it seriously; we are only speaking the truth. When I found your brother, I found my true self. The woman I am sitting before you is compliments of your brother. He saw the real me when I couldn’t even see it myself. You would understand what I’m saying if you would stop being a bitch for more than five minutes,” she sassed. “You have two brothers that would do anything for you and yet you still act like a bitch towards the women they love. How does that make sense?”

“It doesn’t have to make sense. You didn’t grow up the way that we grew up. Your sister didn’t have to step in to play mother and father because your parents were too busy trying to run an empire. You went to school with other kids. You had a normal childhood. So, until you walked a mile in my shoes, don’t you dare question my behavior.”

“I understand what you went through, Jiselle.”

“No, the hell you don’t, and you won’t ever understand until you have lived it. Yeah, you might know how my parents were all about business from Gunz, but that’s his story, not mine. I was the youngest, which meant I got the least bit of attention. I had to excel at everything in order for my parents to even pay me an ounce of attention. My brothers stepped in to be my mother and father but, even then, they had their own things they were trying to do, which left me alone. So, when you have to prove your worth to your parents, you turn a little cold on the inside.”

“Okay, that explains your behavior but why do you treat me and Nazi the way that you do?”

“I treat you and your sister the way I do to toughen y’all up. Both of my brothers are bosses in their own rights, which mean they need boss chicks. Your sister is a tough one already, which is why I don’t say too much to her. I can tell that she can handle anything that comes her way, especially for the ones she loves. You, on the other hand, you’re pure.”

“What do you mean I’m pure?” she questioned, looking confused.

“When I say you’re pure, I mean you have never been tainted. The horrible things you encountered in your life just started happening. You didn’t have to deal with too much while you were growing up.”

“Neither did Nazi, so what makes her any different?”

“You always had Nazi there for you when things got hard. When things got hard with Nazi, who was there for her? Nazi was your strength, your backbone, and so much more; all the while she had no one to lean on, which caused her to form such a hard shell. She might not be as fucked up as me but we are somewhat alike. You, on the other hand, are just now forming that hard shell. You are just now coming into your own and opening your eyes to see how everything really is. Whereas you want to see the best in everyone, you sister and I see the truth in people.”

“You’re absolutely right,” she mumbled.

“Of course I am right; I wouldn’t be talking if I didn’t know what I was talking about. Everything I just said was the old you; the you that I see in front of me is a woman that is worthy of being with my brother.”

“If you feel that way, why would you bring Milani to your brother’s party?”

“I brought her to test you. That was honestly your finally test. I needed to make sure that you wouldn’t freeze up in an unexpected situation. Now, I didn’t expect you to kill ole girl but that showed me everything I needed to know. I haven’t trained you for long but you have all the skill that you need.”

“I appreciate you coming in here to talk to me.” She smiled.

“Yeah, well I had to make sure you were alright after your first kill.”

“I don’t think I’m alright but I’m sure I will be soon.”

“The best thing to do is not dwell on it. As long as you didn’t kill just to kill, then there is no reason to dwell on the situation. You did what you had to do and that’s what’s important.”

“I get that but, at the same time, it still feels wrong,” she sighed.

“You know why it feels wrong because killing isn’t meant for you, Laci. You’re not meant to be out here in these streets killing.”

“I know but it’s in my blood.”

“Just because you have it in your blood doesn’t mean you have to act on it. I don’t know your parents but I’m sure they would’ve still been proud of you if you didn’t follow in their footsteps. See, my parents wanted us to follow in their footsteps, so that’s what we did. Shit, if I wasn’t doing this, I don’t know what else I would be doing. Killing is all I really know and I’m okay with that because I’m built for this shit.”

“I get all of that but I can’t just let my parents’ death go without being avenged.”

“You don’t have to let it go unavenged; that’s what you have Gunz for. That nigga is willing to do whatever it is to make you happy.” And that was the truth. I never seen Gunz act this way over any chick.

“Gunz shouldn’t always have to save me. There are some things I have to do on my own and killing Shirley and Dennis is one of them. Well, not on my own but with Nazi.”

“Laci, if you feel that strongly about it, then I will help you. Matter of fact, we can go handle that shit tonight. A couple of my guys have been watching them. I know where they be at.”

“How am I supposed to get away from Gunz? I’m sure he’s not going to leave me alone after what I just did.”

“Stage a fight with him over what Milani told him. Then just storm out, and Nazi and I will be waiting for you in my car.”

“I don’t think that’s going to work.”

“Trust me, it’s going to work. If you really want to handle this like you said you do, then it will work.”

I got up and left out the room because there was nothing else that needed to be said between the two of. If Laci wanted revenge, then she would do what she needed to do. I walked back into the living room and Milani’s body was gone, along with my parents. Jinx was doing something on his laptop while Nazi was eating crabs in the kitchen.

“In an hour, meet me outside,” I whispered.

“Why are you whispering and I’m not meeting you outside unless you want that ass beat again.”

I smirked at her because she had a lot of mouth. “Laci wants to handle Shirley and Dennis; now if you want to be there, I suggest you meet me outside in an hour.”

“Why would you help us?” she quizzed.

“Take it as my apology,” I smirked, then left out.

I went straight to my apartment and got ready to jump in the shower. Laci was the only person that I have ever opened up to. No one else knew about my feelings towards my family and I felt as though they didn’t need to know. My family was a sensitive topic for me, so I kept the whole situation to myself. Eventually, I wanted to meet someone that I could fully open up to but none of the dudes who tried to fuck with me qualified. A lot of them were scared of Gunz and that wasn’t working for me. I needed me a nigga that would say fuck yo brother, I’m trying to see what’s up with you. No dude has ever stepped to me on some shit like that, so for now, I was going to stay guarded.

I gathered everything I needed for my shower but then picked up my phone to place a call.

“Didn’t your mother ever tell you there is nothing open after twelve besides legs?”

“Nah, my mother always told me let them sleep while you grind.”

“Money can’t keep that pussy wet tho.” He laughed.

“Don’t worry about my pussy because my man handles that,” I lied.

“Yeah, that nigga doing a horrible job because yo ass stays acting like a bitch.”

“Watch your mouth, my nigga.”

“Cut all that tough shit because it ain’t you. Now wassup, if you not trying to give me no pussy, why you calling me?”

“I need you to grab some things for me at the supermarket. I’m not feeling well.”

“What things?”

“S&D.”

“Ight, I got you.”

“I’ll meet up with you in an hour by our usual spot.”

“One,” he said and hung up the phone.

I rolled my eyes because Ransom was annoying as hell. I jumped in the shower to prepare myself for the eventful night. I hoped Laci was really up to this because once we got started, there was no turning back.

Chapter 34: Laci

“You really just going to walk past me like you don’t hear me talking to you, Laci. You may have been able to beat Jiselle’s ass and handle Milani, but don’t let your newfound toughness go to your fucking head,” Gunz spat.

When Jiselle left out the room, Gunz came right in trying to talk to me. I politely told him I didn’t want to talk but he kept going. I ended up leaving from Jinx’s house and went back upstairs.

“Yes, I hear you talking to me and I told you I don’t want to talk. Why can’t you just respect that and leave me the hell alone?”

“Nah, I’m not leaving you alone because this is something we have to discuss. I know what Milani said is bothering you.”

“Honestly, it’s not. It happened when I left you to marry Brett. I can’t be mad at that,” I told him.

“Then why are you pushing me away?” he asked, yanking me by the arm.

“I’m not pushing you away; I just want to be left alone. I just murdered someone. Do you think I want to have a conversation about it? I need to time to process it,” I told him, looking into his eyes.

“We gonna process that shit together. You just caught your first body; I’m not leaving you alone.”

“The more you push, the more I’m going to pull. Just let me go.” I went to move my arm and he let me go with the saddest look on his face I ever seen.

I felt bad for how I was doing him but this was what was best. There was no way Gunz was going to let me kill Shirley and Dennis. I walked away from Gunz and went to get in the shower. I let the water fall on me for a while. I was hoping the water would wash away the guilt I felt from killing Milani but it didn’t. The more I thought about it, the worst I felt. Yes, I only did what I had to do but who was I to make the decision on whether someone lived or died?

“Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black,” I said to myself.

Here I was talking about who was I to take a life when I was about to go take two more. I was trying to hold on to my old self, all the while coming into the new me. I justified my actions by telling myself killing Milani and killing my adoptive parents were two different things. I had to tell myself that in order to justify my actions.

I quickly washed up before I talked myself out of what I was going to do. I expected for Gunz to be in the bedroom when I got out but he wasn’t. I quickly threw on an all-black Nike sweat suit and my black Timbs. I pulled my hair into a ponytail and went to grab my gun, when I remembered I dropped it at Jinx’s house. I tiptoed towards the kitchen but Gunz wasn’t there either. A note on the kitchen table caught my attention; the note said that Gunz was in the den and when I was ready to talk, he would be ready to listen.

Before I started crying, I rushed out the house. As soon as I got outside, I saw Jiselle’s car parked out front. I ran towards it and jumped in the back seat with Nazi.

“You could’ve got in the front; I’m not going to bite,” Jiselle smirked, looking in the review mirror.

“I’m not so sure about that. I could’ve sworn you bit me when I was tapping that ass,” Nazi joked.

“You’re never going to let that go, are you?” Jiselle asked.

“Hell no. Every single time you start acting like you’re all high and mighty, I’m going to bring you down a notch,” Nazi sassed.

“Bitch,” Jiselle mumbled.

“Takes one to know one.” Nazi laughed.

“Will the two of y’all stop!” I said, frustrated.

“Well damn.” Jiselle laughed.

“Laci, what the hell is wrong with you? Jiselle and I only playing,” Nazi said.

“Nothing is wrong with me,” I sighed. I was so anxious to get this thing over with; this shit was premeditated murder.

“Look, if you are nervous about doing this, I can pull over and you can call my brother to come pick you up,” Jiselle suggested.

“I’m not scared, I’m just anxious,” I told them.

“Laci, there is no need to be anxious. They are going to get what they deserve and then we are out of there,” Nazi said.

“You’re right.” I wasn’t scared; shit, I was more than ready to do this. I just wanted to hurry up and get it done.

“Here, light this.” Jiselle reached behind her, passing Nazi a blunt and a lighter.

Nazi lit the blunt, then passed it to me. I took it and did what Gunz told me to do when I smoked with him at the club. I coughed this time but it wasn’t as bad as the last time. The smoke filled my lungs and I mellowed out some. The rest of the ride we passed back and forth. For the first time, it felt as though Jiselle was a real human. She wasn’t all uptight and bitchy; she was chill and nice. I could get use to this Jiselle because the other Jiselle wasn’t my cup of tea.

We pulled up to what looked like an old factory. We all got out, giggling for no apparent reason.

“You said you would be here in a fucking hour, not a whole two hours later Jiselle. I could’ve been in some bitch’s pussy, instead of fucking with your dizzy ass. And who the fuck are these two?” The dude was hostile as hell, but he could be all he wanted because he was fine. I mean, he wasn’t as fine as Gunz but he was definitely a looker.

“Are all the dudes you’re associated with assholes? Jinx is the only calm nigga,” Nazi spat.

“Jiselle, who the fuck is this?” the dude asked again.

“Ransom, lower your voice when you’re talking to the boss. Speak to me with respect or don’t speak at all,” Jiselle said, getting in the dude’s face.

Nazi and I stood back, watching to see what would happen next. The vibe between these two was tense as hell. As if on cue, Ransom pulled out a gun and Jiselle pulled out a knife I didn’t even know she had. I gripped onto Nazi, anxious to see what was going to happen next.

“Didn’t your daddy tell you never pull out unless you ready to use it?” Jiselle smirked.

“Yeah but my mama told me always respect the elderly.” Ransom laughed, putting his gun away.

“Nigga, I am not elderly; I am in my prime. I’m turning twenty-five this year and it has never looked better,” Jiselle smirked.

“That’s only because I didn’t turn twenty-five yet,” he smirked.

“You got five years to catch up, lil daddy. Now, on to business. Laci and Nazi, this is Ransom; he’s part of my team. He handles all kidnappings and things of that nature. Ransom, this is Laci and Nazi.”

“Damn, y’all fine as fuck; I’ll take the both of you,” he smirked, licking his lips.

“We’re sisters,” I told him.

“I don’t give a fuck if y’all were real sisters,” he joked.

“Please, you are not my type,” Nazi sassed.

“You not my type. Wassup with you, lil mama?” he asked, walking up on me.

“Uh down boy, I’m spoken for.”

“Ya man ain’t me, so I don’t give a fuck.” He smiled.

“You’re right, her man ain’t you because she dates Gunz,” Jiselle spat.

“Oh, why didn’t you say so? I rock with the big homie, Gunz.” He smiled. “If you ladies would follow me this way,” he said, leading the way.

Nazi and I walked a little quicker to catch up with Jiselle and Ransom. We followed them inside and the place looked like a torture chamber. They had metal chairs, chains, chainsaws, swords, and anything else you could think of in this place.

“Your package is over there in the corner. Handle your business and make it quick,” Ransom told us.

“Don’t worry, you will be back home before your curfew,” Jiselle joked. “Laci and Nazi, come on.”

We walked over to the corner with Jiselle and stood there for a minute. My breathing was heavy, but I was ready to do this. I pulled the bag off their head and looked into the eyes of Shirley and Dennis. Looking at them stare at me caused something to click inside of me. I saw nothing but red and I pictured blood pouring out of both of them. I leaned forward, ripping the tape off their mouths. I made sure to do it rough enough so that they would feel some sort of pain.

“What do you have to say for yourself?” I wasn’t yelling but the bass in my voice was apparent.

“I don’t have shit to say!” Shirley spat. “You won’t ever get the satisfaction of hearing me beg for my life.”

“BITCH!” Nazi yelled, smacking the shit out of Shirley.

“Enough! Lacianne, we are sorry for all the hurt and pain that we caused,” Dennis said. I pulled Nazi off of Shirley because Nazi was going to beat her ass until she was unconscious.

“You’re only sorry because all your wrong doing is now catching up to you,” I said.

“Dennis, don’t say shit else to these ungrateful bitches. You are just like your mother. The both of you think everything happens at the snap of y’all finger, just like your mother. But do you know what your mother didn’t expect, she didn’t expect the sting from the cold blade I used to slit her throat. Her screams were music to my ears.” Shirley laughed.

Nazi went to go charge at her again but I stopped her. I placed the tape back on their mouths and turned towards Jiselle and Ransom.

“Laci, why didn’t you let me beat that bitch’s ass for how she was talking about our mother,” Nazi complained, following me.

I ignored her because I already had an idea. “Look, I need a bottle of Tequila four glass bottles, four crock screws, a lighter, and four pieces of cloth,” I told Ransom.

“The fuck you need that shit for? You just can’t put a bullet in their head and call it a day?” he asked.

“A quick and easy death doesn’t send a message,” I told him.

“Stop questioning her and just go get the stuff,” Jiselle said.

“Man, y’all chicks moody as fuck. I’ll be back, ight. Don’t do shit until I get back because I need to see this shit.”

He jogged off and I turned my attention back to Shirley and Dennis. Nazi and Jiselle were whispering about me like I wasn’t standing right there but I didn’t care. What I was about to do was going to solidify my new found strength. What I was about to do was going to have people thinking twice about fucking with me.

* * * *

An hour later, Ransom was back, and we had made four Molotov cocktails.

“Nazi, grab two of these and Jiselle grab the fire extinguisher over there. Ransom, you can just stand and watch.”

We all walked over to where Shirley and Dennis were in the corner. Once again, I ripped the tape off of their mouth. I bent down and got close enough to Shirley and Dennis, so only the two of them could hear me.

“You said my mother’s screams brought a smile to your face. Listening to you scream is going to make my pussy wet but watching you burn to death is going to bring to my climax. I’ll see the both of you in hell.”

I backed up with a devious smile on my face. I took the lighter and lit the end of the cloth on fire. The smile remained on my face as I threw the bottle next to Shirley and Dennis, and it exploded.

“Put the fire out!” I told Jiselle two seconds into the screams.

“Oh, this bitch is fucking crazy,” Ransom said.

Jiselle used the fire extinguisher to put the fire out. Shirley and Dennis’ clothes were damn near burnt off and their skin was starting to look like Freddy Kruger.

“Nazi.” I nodded my head towards her, letting her know it was her turn.

“This is for taking my fucking tuition money back,” Nazi said, taking the lighter out my hand. She lit the cloth, then threw her bottle at them. It exploded and, once again, the room was filed with their screams. This time, I let them burn a little bit longer.

“Okay Jiselle,” I told her. She put the fire out and the smell of burnt flesh filled out nostrils. Shirley and Dennis were beginning to look unrecognizable.

“Y’all need to hurry the fuck up; they fucking smell like burnt shit,” Ransom complained.

“Ransom, shut the hell up. This is grown woman shit, so I wouldn’t expect you to know anything about this,” Jiselle told him.

“Nah, this is sadistic. Y’all on a whole different level.”

“We almost done,” I told them.

“This one is for all the pain you put me through,” I said.

“This one is for our parents,” Nazi said, stepping up next to me.

I nodded my head in agreement. I lifted my last bottle and Nazi did the same. We looked at each other before throwing our bottles at the same time. This time, the screams were faint; I was surprised they didn’t pass out from the pain. Nazi and I turned around, telling Jiselle and Ransom it was time to go. Getting outside, I felt like myself again. I breathed in the fresh air and a smile crept on my face.

“Where the fuck did you come up with an idea like that?” Ransom asked, right before we got in the car.

“I watch movies.” I shrugged, as if it was nothing.

“Movies huh,” Ransom smirked. “I’ma clean this mess up; y’all straight.”

We said our goodbyes, then all jumped in the car. Going into this, I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to go through with it. Hearing Shirley talk about my mother’s screams did it for me. She caused a whole different side of me to come out. I guess it was true that I was built for this type of lifestyle.
