could bring them, and Phillip was filled with power and lust and selfish joy.
Mine
, he thought,
they are
both mine, whether Jonathan admits it or not
. He adjusted his thrusts so that he rubbed Jonathan harder through Maggie’s thin walls, and the other man gasped and trembled and held him tighter, but he still wouldn’t look at him. Phillip was satisfied, for now. Soon he would make Jonathan look at him and acknowledge that he was Phillip’s, but not tonight. Tonight it was enough that he’d made him admit his passion.

Maggie began to moan loudly, and Phillip recognized the signs. She was close to climax, and he wanted to ride it with her, him and Jonathan.

“Bring her with us, Jonathan,” he whispered against the top of Jonathan’s head as it rested on Maggie’s shoulder and the thick soft waves of Jonathan’s hair caressed his lips. “Help me, I want to feel you both come,” he finished, and when Jonathan trembled Phillip felt his own release building, burning in him like a beast waiting to be set free.

Jonathan pulled away from Maggie’s shoulder, away from Phillip’s lips, and threw his head back, pumping in and out of Maggie in a frenzied burst, his eyes closed, and sensual pleasure on his face. And Phillip joined him, the world narrowed down to the touch of these three people, the sounds of their pleasure, the rise of their climax. Then it hit, like a storm that built on the horizon until it was unleashed in a cacophony of sound and fury, and Phillip shouted his joy as it poured from him into Maggie, into Jonathan. Maggie’s scream and Jonathan’s hoarse cries pulled more pleasure from Phillip when he would have sworn it wasn’t possible. Maggie’s muscles clenched on him over and over and he felt the heat of Jonathan’s semen in her, the throb and thrust of Jonathan’s cock as he spent himself in her glorious ass, and Phillip began to laugh, laugh with the pleasure and the joy and the satisfaction and when they all collapsed to the bed Maggie and Jonathan had joined him, their tears mingling with the laughter.

Phillip rose from the bed after a few minutes and returned to clean off both Maggie and Jonathan.

Maggie let him, but he had a silent battle with Jonathan over the cloth before the other man lay back and closed his eyes, biting his lip as Phillip lovingly cleansed his cock and balls. When he came back to bed, both of his lovers had their eyes closed. Phillip knew there were things that needed to be said, but the lethargy of sexual satisfaction that engulfed him was too powerful to resist. Soon Maggie and then Jonathan fell asleep, and before long Phillip joined them, Maggie’s head on his shoulder, her leg draped over his, and Jonathan’s arm wrapped around Maggie’s waist as he spooned her from behind, his hand resting intimately against Phillip’s stomach.

Chapter Twelve

Phillip walked into his study the next morning after a solitary breakfast. He’d left Jonathan and Maggie sleeping soundly in his bed, a sight that had moved him deeply. He’d shared a bed with Jonathan before, with other women, or during the war when few were available. He’d never shared it with him as a lover, however, and in his heart he felt that last night they had been that, lovers, not just Maggie’s but each other’s. He couldn’t seem to stop smiling this morning, feeling more content than he’d ever felt in his life.

He planned to talk with Jonathan today, to settle matters with him once and for all. To tell Jonathan how much he loved him, how much he needed him. He wouldn’t allow either one of them to hide from their feelings any longer, especially since, if he understood Maggie, and he thought he did, she wanted her two men to be lovers as much as they did.

Considering the direction of his thoughts, Phillip was surprised to see Jonathan standing in front of the window across the room when he closed the door. It was almost as if his desire had conjured him there,

standing in hastily donned clothes—breeches and boots and a shirt left half undone. His hair was tousled and his cheeks were flushed. He looked precisely like a man who had just risen from his lover’s bed, well-used and satisfied. Although judging from the look on his face as he turned to Phillip, not completely happy about it. Phillip changed direction from his desk toward the window and Jonathan.

“What is it, Jonathan?” he asked quietly. “What’s wrong, darling?”

“Don’t call me that!” Jonathan’s reply was angry, yet there was a hint of sadness there as well.

Phillip stopped several feet away from Jonathan, close enough to see his eyes and their myriad emotions, yet not so close as to frighten him away. “Why?” His question was simple, spoken in the same quiet tone he’d used before.

Jonathan’s laugh was harsh and bitter. “How can you ask that? You know why.” He turned away and Phillip was treated to a view of his strong profile, but he had seen Jonathan’s confusion and despair clearly written on his face before he turned.

“Apparently I don’t,” Phillip said negligibly as he turned and moved over to a chair directly across from Jonathan. He sat on the arm of the chair. “Why don’t you explain it tome. ”

Jonathan turned back to him with an incredulous expression. “How can you dismiss her so easily? I thought you loved her.”

Phillip sat up straighter, alert, his head tilted to the side. Jonathan was going in a completely different direction than he had expected. Were his misgivings solely about Maggie? Did he not understand her desires as Phillip did?

“Jonathan, you know I love Maggie as much as I love you.” He stood slowly. “Is that what’s troubling you, concern for Maggie?”

Jonathan paced over to the wall and leaned back heavily against it, pinching the bridge of his nose between two fingers and closing his eyes. “What’s bothering me? Oh God, Phillip, the number of items on that list is endless.”

“Jonathan,” Phillipbegan, his voice low and soothing, the same tone he used with Maggie when she was upset. Jonathan cut him off.

“Don’t, Phillip,” he pleaded, opening his eyes and looking at the other man with despair. “Don’t talk to me like that.”

“Like what?” Phillip asked, perplexed.

“Like a lover,” Jonathan whispered.

Phillip could take no more. He walked quickly across the room, not stopping until he was directly in front in Jonathan, mere inches separating them. Jonathan didn’t move, remaining slumped dejectedly against the wall.

“I speak to you like a lover because I love you,” he told Jonathan harshly, bringing both hands up to rest against the wall on either side of Jonathan’s head. “And I will not hide the fact anymore. In my heart you are one of my lovers. When I fuck you, it will confirm a relationship that already exists. You know this

and I know this.”

Jonathan’s head had fallen back against the wall during Phillip’s impassioned speech. His eyes were closed again, his face tight with pain.

“I cannot be your lover, Phillip,” he whispered. “I can’t.”

Phillip’s heart stuttered in his chest. He hadn’t considered that Jonathan would deny him. He knew Jonathan loved him, wanted him. Why wouldn’t he admit it?

“Don’t try to tell me you don’t want me, Jonathan. I saw the truth in your eyes last night, felt it in your kiss.”

Jonathan’s eyes flew open. He looked panicked, like a cornered buck.

Phillip pressed his advantage. He leaned in close, bringing his body in against Jonathan’s. Jonathan retreated, but with the wall at his back he had nowhere to run. He couldn’t avoid Phillip as he leaned first his hips then his chest against him. He turned his face away, but Phillip could feel Jonathan’s arousal pressed intimately against him as surely as Jonathan could feel his. It was wickedly sensual, the two hard cocks straining together through tight breeches. Phillip remembered the feel of Jonathan’s velvet hot cock rubbing against his last night and put the knowledge in his eyes for Jonathan to see as he gently turned his head with a finger under his chin. He felt Jonathan’s heart speed up in his chest.

Phillip bent his head a fraction, just enough to lightly pass his lips over Jonathan’s face, just over the skin, hardly touching—first his forehead then down his long aristocratic nose, around the curve of his cheekbone, then skimming his jaw. Jonathan’s breath was erratic when Phillip came to rest just over his lips, not quite touching.

“Just answer one question, Jonathan,” he whispered against the other man’s mouth. Jonathan’s lips were slightly parted, his warm breath sliding over Phillip’s lips, making him hungry to taste the moist warmth from which it came. “When you kissed me last night, did you mean it?” He deliberately brushed his lips against Jonathan’s in a fashion similar to that which he had used the night before. Jonathan’s whimper of aroused distress was almost too low to hear, but Phillip felt it through his entire body. “Answer the question, Jonathan,” Phillip insisted, placing a light kiss against the corner of Jonathan’s lips. “Did,” he paused to kiss the other corner, “you,” another pause and a swipe of tongue against Jonathan’s full lower lip, “mean it?” He put his lips fully against Jonathan’s, slightly parted like Jonathan’s, the pressure firm but not insistent.

Phillip had to wait but a moment before Jonathan returned the pressure, his arms sliding up Phillip’s sides and around his back, his fists clutching at Phillip’s jacket. It was Jonathan who deepened the kiss, Jonathan who thrust his tongue into Phillip’s mouth, and it was Phillip’s turn to moan with arousal.

Jonathan’s surrender to his desire was one of the most exciting things Phillip had ever experienced. His lust roared with triumph and he crushed Jonathan to him, wanting to feel every inch of his muscular body and hard, throbbing erection.

The kiss went on and on and on, the two men feeding off each other’s mouths the same way they fed off each other’s passion. Years of frustrated desire, of love denied were poured into that kiss. Phillip heard himself murmuring words of love against Jonathan’s lips. He captured Jonathan’s sighs and moans in his mouth and returned the same to Jonathan. Finally, his hands buried in Jonathan’s thick hair, his hips thrusting against Jonathan’s, Phillip broke the kiss with a gasp. Jonathan was clutching him tightly just at the swell of his ass, holding his cock pressed hard against him. They stood like that for an eternity,

looking into each other’s eyes, until their breathing slowed and Phillip spoke.

“I’ll take that as a yes,” he whispered, his lips curved in a grin.

Jonathan did not smile back. “Yes,” he whispered, “I meant it. I meant it last night, and I meant it today, but that’s all there can ever be between us, Phillip, the knowledge of it. I won’t hurt Maggie that way. I love her, as much as I’ve always loved you. I won’t drive her away. I can’t live without her.”

Phillip bent his head in relief, resting his forehead against Jonathan’s. He shook his head back and forth, and laughed shakily. “You idiot,” he told Jonathan, his voice affectionate. “Do you know Maggie so little?

She wants this,Jonathan, she wants us to be lovers.”

“What?” Jonathan voice was confused, as if he didn’t understand the words Phillip was saying, not just the meaning.

Phillip pulled back and looked at him. “She does, Jonathan. Think about it. Think about last night. Who asked us to undress one another? Who rubbed our cocks together and smiled as we moaned in ecstasy over the feeling? Who begged us to lick her pussy together, surely knowing we would kiss in that hot,wet cavern? As I kissed you last night, Maggie murmured ‘Love me, love each other’. Did you not hear her?”

Jonathan was shaking his head, a stubborn look on his face. “No, no, it’s not possible. It’s enough that we ask her to take us both to her bed. She could barely bring herself to do that. Now you’re trying to tell me she wants us to be lovers,” he looked narrow-eyed at Phillip, “to fuck each other, with her blessing.

How can that be true?”

Phillip pressed back in tightly against Jonathan and rested his lips on the rim of Jonathan’s ear. “I don’t know how it can be true, I only know it is. I think that Maggie loves us and she senses our desire for one another. She knows that I love you and she wants us to be happy. Make me happy, Jonathan, make Maggie happy. Don’t fight this thing between us.”

Jonathan took several unsteady deep breaths. “It’s too much, Phillip,” he whispered. “I never expected so much. It’s everything I ever wanted, to be allowed to love you and Maggie. I don’t deserve it. It’s too good to be true, do you understand?”

Phillip pulled back and fisted his hands in the hair on the sides of Jonathan’s head, tilting his head back until he looked into his eyes. “No, no I don’t understand. You do deserve it, Jonathan. Don’t ever say that again. It is every dream come true, yours, mine and Maggie’s.” He tried to force Jonathan to accept the truth in his eyes. “Tell me again, Jonathan. Say it.”

“Say what?” Jonathan asked with a small grin.

Phillip gently rapped Jonathan’s head against the wall. “You know what. Tell me that you love me.”

Jonathan looked deeply into Phillip’s eyes, and Phillip saw the truth before Jonathan could speak the words. “I love you, Phillip,” he whispered. “I have always loved you. You are my moon, and Maggie my stars. My life is utterly devoted to you. Without you I would wither and die.”

“Christ,” Phillip murmured as he leaned in to kiss Jonathan who was reaching for Phillip’s lips with his own, “I only asked for I love you, not a damn sonnet.”

Jonathan was laughing as Phillip claimed his mouth once again. The passion flared to life between them

again, and Jonathan’s laughter turned to moans.

When Phillip began to tear at his clothes, Jonathan didn’t know whether to protest or to help. In the end he simply let Phillip have his way. His shirtcame open first and the pleasure he received just from the feel of Phillip’s hands running over his stomach and up to his chest stole his breath. He bit down on Phillip’s lower lip and Phillip growled, pinching Jonathan’s nipples between his fingers, rolling them there when he heard Jonathan’s low cry of pleasure.
