Don

t think Victoria. Lliam told you not to think. I bite down on my should, my blood is now trickling into my mouth. It hurts, it feels nothing like it did when Lliam bit me. I feel no love, no ecstasy, no excitement

just pure and agonizing pain.

I feel adrenalin pumping through my veins now. It is working. I use my heightened senses to get a general location on my attacker, Seamus. He is my room. Good, that gives me time to free myself and Paudrigene. I rip out of my ties and run over to Paudrigene, freeing her from her restraints as well. Just as I get her loose, that horrid smell, which I now recognize as danger and Seamus, grows stronger. He is behind me. He lunges forward, I step out of his way, grabbing his arm and snapping it behind his back. I am sure that it is broken. I throw him to the floor and release a growl again. I kick him in his ribs, I have no idea what I am doing. It is like I am running on my gut feeling, like my natural instincts have taken over my body.

I jump onto Seamus, startling his waist. I pick up his head and smash it into the floor. I feel my fangs throbbing in my mouth. I am ready to bite him now, not in lust and pleasure, but to kill him.

Just before I close the distance to his neck, the door of our house swings open.

Victoria!

I barely hear the voice, but I can tell it is Lliam. I clamp my teeth into Seamus

s neck. Aviel grabs me off of him before I can rip his throat out, and Lliam grabs Seamus and ties his arms together. His broken arm and neck, now healing. Traces of dry blood run down his neck.

I fall to the floor, crying hysterically.

Lliam, I was going to kill him! I am a monster!

My brain is now functioning correctly and the realization of what I was doing has hit me strong. Aviel trades places with Lliam. He is now restraining Seamus who has a defeated look on his face. Lliam is now holding me on the floor of our dining room.

You are not a monster. You were protecting yourself and what is yours. Vampires are very territorial honey. Plus, if you ask me, he deserves death.

Lliam

s voice and his touch make me feel a little bit better. I get up off of the floor and walk over to Paudrigene to scan her for any injuries. She is fine. AI hug her tight and whisper in her ear,

I am so glad that you are ok! I don

t know what I would do without you.

She returns my hug, but says nothing. She is a royal servant and truly isn

t supposed to show any affection to her masters. I will need to talk to her about that later.

Lliam explains to me that we need to take Seamus to his mum and that I need to be there as well. He says I need to learn my duties as future queen, and now is the best time. Seamus opens his mouth to say something. I hear his saliva stretching from his opening jaws. I turn towards him and growl again.

I suggest that you do not speak in my presence.

I could sense my instincts about to take over again at the thought of hearing his voice. I decided to warn him so that I did not try to kill him again.

Chapter 25: Going for the kill

We all load into my S.U.V. Lliam drives, Paudrigene and Aviel sit in the back seat, and we make Seamus ride in the trunk behind the third row seats. I wanted to be as far away from him as possible on our way to the queen

s home

her palace. When we arrive, she is standing outside, waiting for us. She must have sense something was wrong. I run to her and start crying. She embraces me in an affectionate hug and speaks quietly,

Its ok, I know what happened. Come upstairs to my office and we will sort this out.

With that, she kisses my forehead and we all follow her up the stairs.

Lliam and Aviel each have one of Seamus

s tied arms, dragging him up the stairs. He is afraid, I can smell his fear. He starts to struggle a little, but soon realizes that it is doing him no good. We make it into mum

s office and she asks Paudrigene to leave.

Please, mum, with all do respect, I would like for her to stay.

As you wish my dear. Victoria, as the queen, I make all punishment decisions. Think of my like the judge in a courtroom. It is my job. If the decision were left to the king, he would just have everyone killed. That just causes more trouble; though sometimes, death is a necessary punishment. My heart, your heart, and the heart of every queen before us are all precious, soft and full of love. Now, please explain to me in detail, exactly what happened today.

I tell her about what I had sensed and smelled on my way home to pick up Paudrigene. I describe Seamus

s first attack on me in my old house, that way she knows that Seamus is jealous and doesn

t want Lliam to have the crown. I go into telling her what happened today. I explain how he told me that he was goig to give me his seed and ruin our bloodline. Than

how I tried to kill him. I realize now, that I am very thirsty. I have not had any blood, other than my own, since this morning. My own blood didn

t make me feel full. Mum must have noticed this because she sent a maid to fetch a bag of blood for me.

As I drink the blood that the maid has retrieved for me, the queen starts to talk.

I see. This is a big problem. Your instincts told you to kill him at the time

what are they telling you now?

I thought it over for a moment and than made my reply.

Well, mum, honestly I still want to kill him. He is not only a threat to me, but to our family, and our future.

The air in the office is thick, I smell fear in the air. I assume that it belongs to Seamus who is now trembling, hanging from the grips of Aviel and Lliam, unable to stand on his own.

So be it Victoria! Kill him.

Was she talking to me? She nods her head, I knew she had read my mind. I am nervous, scared, and angry. I make eye contact with Lliam, and brush my fingers over the side of his face. The voice of Jeremiah comes into my head.
You must do this, your family is at risk. Trust your instincts Victoria.
That was all that I needed to hear.

Adrenaline fills my veins again, and I growl. This time, however, I growl on purpose. I jump towards Seamus, still held by Aviel and Lliam. My fangs emerge from out of my gums,  I rip him from the grasp of my husband and my boss, and through him to the floor. I press my foot into his neck, just underneath of his chin. He starts to say something, but it is barely audible with the pressure of my foot. I release it slightly so that I can understand him.

Please princess, please.

He is begging for his life, but I don

t really care.

You are a threat to my family.

With that, I lurch forward, sinking my fangs into his neck. I suck the life right out of his body.

When he is completely drained, I stand staring at his body. I am wondering what is going to be done with it. The queen, who must have read my mind again, tells me that one of the servants will dispose of his lifeless body. I try to maintain my composure, I had never imagined myself killing a person. It did feel good though, protecting my family.

Victoria, I know how you feel. When I first became princess, I went through something very similar to this. You were made for this, it is in your blood. You will get used to it. It

s not very often that you have to kill anyways. Everything will always come naturally to you. Just follow your instincts. I trust that you have spoken with your ancient spirit?

I look at her for a moment, she sure does know everything. I wonder if I will know everything when I am queen.

Yes, Jeremiah. He has proven himself to be very helpful.

Mum smiles,

Good, he has helped to guide you through you initial change, and for eternity, will only be a thought and a touch away.

Chapter 26: The future

I need to sleep. Lliam drives me home. Aviel had decided to stay with us for a few days. I ask Paudrigene to set him up in a room. Lliam leeds me up the stairs. I can barely hold my eyes open. I finally get into our bed and drift off to sleep. I was surprised that I wasn

t dreaming of everything that had happened today.

Everything is passing very quickly. My initial meeting with my stalker husband at the red light, our first date at the melting pot, our wedding ceremony. Our first session of love making after our wedding, my biting his wrist, the love mark I left there, the first time I spoke to Jeremiah, my shop, Seamus, the queen

it slows down. I can feel every emotion at felt at every memory that flashed before my closed eyelids. The image now, seems to be of the future. It was a store, my very own store, I guessed. Everything is decorated in red and black. Pipes and purses neatly displayed on shelves and hooks. My stomach is huge and round. I am pregnant. The image quickly fades away bringing another

a baby. A boy. My boy. Our son. I kiss the baby. I can feel the love exchanged between my body and his.

I wake up and scream for Lliam. He sits up in the bed next to me, he looks scared.

What is it Victoria? You frightened me.

I need a pregnancy test.

I stated simply as if he would know why I woke up in the middle of sleeping and decided that I needed a pregnancy test. He looks at me puzzled, and I explain to him my dream. He is still staring at me with bewilderment in his eyes.

Can I see the future Lliam? Do you think that it is real?

Finally he says something.

I don

t know babe, I will phone my mum and send Paudrigene for your test.

The Queen

s P.O.V

I know what Seamus was, an aura shifter. He also had a special gift. Not many people ever knew about it, but I did. I know everybody

s special gift, it is my ability. I kept him around incase I needed to use him, but I never really did like him. He could read the future, it came to him in his dreams. Once, when I had to kill a vampire for betraying our family, I received the special gift that that vampire had. I knew than, that if you kill a supernatural being by sucking their blood, you gain whatever power they have. That is how I am able to sense other being

s talents. I killed him, drank his blood, and boom; his gift was mine.

My young princess has killed Seamus. I am proud of her, I knew she could do it if she used her instincts. Now, she will have his gift, she will dream the future. I suspect that my son will be calling me soon to question Victoria

s new talent. I knew that Victoria had been extremely exhausted. She went home to sleep, but she will be waking soon I am sure. She will have seen something in her dream.

Suddenly, my phone rings. I already know that its Lliam. I answer the phone, my suspicions were correct, I can sense it in his voice. Victoria has dreamt of the future.

Mum, Victoria had a dream. She thinks she dreamt of the future.

My darling son, she doesn

t just think she dreamt of the future

She did dream the future.

I can tell my son is confused. Most young vampires do not get their gifts so suddenly. Vampires are created with one gift, the others you have to kill for. It takes time for young vampires to learn their gift.

How so mother? She is just a new vampire. Her gift shouldn

t have been acquired yet.

Lliam, she drank Seamus

s blood until he died. She has gained his gift. Tell me, what did she see in her dream?
