He grinned, and she found herself feeling more and more at ease with the man. He had an easygoing charm she hadn’t expected in one looking so stern and forbidding.

“You know what? I’ll think about it.”

He put down his book and folded his arms beneath his head. “You do that. In the meantime, I have someplace to be, so if you like, you can have this chair. Erin.”

She squinted against the sunlight. “That’s very nice of you, Ram. It’s the second time you saved my life.”

He shrugged. “I guess I’m in the life-saving business today.”

He swung his feet to the stone floor and gave her a lazy smile, then dumped the book on the chair. “Here. Something for you to read.” And with those words, he easily rose, and quickly stepped away.

She stretched out on the chair, looking at his retreating back. An interesting guy. And she still didn’t know a thing about him.

Chapter 9

Ram walked away feeling frustrated and angry with himself. “You’re not here to seduce innocent young girls, asshole,” he grunted under his breath as he swung into the hotel lobby. And now he’d even invited her over to his place. What the hell was he thinking? He didn’t have time for frivolous fun and games. And he sure as hell didn’t have the stomach to get involved with anyone.

But the sight of her in that satiny blue bathing suit had temporarily robbed him of his good sense. She’d looked so enticing, her youthful figure hugged by the flimsy garment, her pubic mound clearly visible beneath the smooth material, as were her pert tits, those perky nipples hardening under his stare.

The only thing he’d been able to think of at that moment was to drag her back to his cabin, pin her to his bed, and make love to her until she screamed his name in raging lust as he made her come over and over again.

It was obvious to him she’d never been with a real man. Boys, yes. Stolen kisses in the back of a movie house or behind the ice rink, but never had she felt the powerful thrust of a real man between her legs, pounding that supple young body and welcome her into womanhood for the first time in her life.

Well, he damn sure wasn’t going to be that man, though his cock clearly thought otherwise. The moment she’d sat down on his seat, he’d stood at attention, hard as a rock and ready to plunder that innocence.

He’d had to tear himself away from her, or else he couldn’t be held responsible for the consequences.

She probably didn’t know it, but Erin Walters simply exuded eroticism by the gallon. A young plum ripe for the plucking, she was, and if only he could be there to do the honors…

The thought of another man picking that fresh bud sent a torrent of rage numbing his senses.

Why now? he thought. Why, when there was so much at stake, did she have to walk into his life? Why not five years ago, or even a year ago?

He searched around the lobby for his friend. Where the hell was Burke when he needed him? If he’d shown up when he was supposed to, he wouldn’t have met Erin again, and he wouldn’t be in this mess right now.

He strode to the window, looking out across the pool, his eyes automatically scanning the crowd for Erin. Then he saw her. She was lounging on the chair he’d vacated, thumbing through the copy of the book he’d given her. Not a big loss. He’d found it on the floor, probably discarded by some tourist who’d found it too hard to read.

He studied her as she lay there, soaking up the rays, her supple body leaning back against the chair. Her flaming hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and he suddenly wondered what it would look like spread out across his pillow, her mouth slightly open, her eyes misty with the pleasure he was giving her. He wondered what she would look like when he gave her the ultimate pleasure…

Suddenly a surprising clarity came over him. He had to have her. That was all there was to it. He had to have her if it was the last thing he did. What happened afterward, he didn’t care, but at least once he had to conquer that sweet young pussy, taste those delicate buds…

Christ, he really
was
an asshole, wasn’t he?

Suddenly, he noticed Burke’s imposing form. His friend was engaged in conversation with Erin’s friend, the buxom beauty he’d taken such an interest in.

He shook his head, his expression grim. The man just couldn’t keep his pecker in his pants for five minutes, could he? Instead of focusing on the mission, he just had to chase pussy…

Well, he and Burke both, apparently. He wasn’t much better than his friend. His gaze swiveled back to Erin, who’d just been approached by a young guy in khaki boxers. She was shielding her eyes against the sun as she talked to the guy. Ram felt a jealous rage tear through him, and balled his hands into fists. If he didn’t move quick, she’d be snapped up by any of those horny young studs out there.

He made up his mind.

He had to have her tonight.

He couldn’t focus on anything else anyway, and apparently neither could Burke.

Fine. He’d fuck her and get her out of his system.
Then
he could get back to business as usual.

“Do you see anything you like, sir?” a deferential voice sounded behind him. One of the hotel staff had approached him, and for a moment the question surprised him.

“Huh?”

The smallish Indian man gestured at a glass display case with expensive watches, and Ram relaxed. Of course. He shook his head. “Maybe later, buddy.”

The little guy bobbled his head from side to side for a moment, a wide smile splitting his face. “As you wish, sir. Any time you want, you just ask.”

“Don’t worry,” returned Ram, his gaze swiveling back to Erin. “I will.”

The guy who’d approached her was laughing now, apparently at some joke she’d told him, and he felt the rage bubble closer to the surface.

Briefly, he considered going over there and wiping that stupid grin off the guy’s face by plastering him all over the floor. Then he had a better idea. He smirked, and set foot for the elevator.

Chapter 10

Erin stared up at the guy who kept blabbing away, and her annoyance grew. From his accent, she thought he was German, and though he wasn’t bad-looking, she didn’t care for him one bit.

For one thing, he kept harping on some big party he wanted to invite her to, the only attraction seeming to be that there would be plenty of weed and XTC around.

She’d already told him in so many words she wasn’t into drugs, but he kept boasting how easy it would be for him to hook her up. In fact, if she would only follow him to his room now, she could sample his stash. Grin grin, wink wink.

That and his penchant for ‘fat beats’ made her desperate to get out of this conversation, and for a moment she wished Raminar hadn’t left when he did, leaving her vulnerable to these kinds of young idiots.

She searched around for Sophie, hoping she might come to her rescue, and then saw her friend was engaged in an animated conversation with Raminar’s friend Burke from that morning.

Apparently those two had found each other. Only Burke was clearly interested in Sophie, whereas Raminar obviously wasn’t the least bit interested in her.

She smiled politely at the German, who’d now started to name all his favorite DJs and why they were the hottest thing to ever come to Goa, and she finally decided that perhaps the best thing would be to weather the storm and wait for the guy to simply get the message and buzz off.

Just then, there was some sort of commotion nearby, and looking up, she saw that one of the chairs had caught fire for some reason.

She eyed it with mild interest, wondering if this was perhaps some sort of local custom, when her German admirer broke out in horrified screams. “My stash!” he suddenly screeched. “My stash is on fire!”

With interest, Erin watched him hurry over to the chair, where a sports bag had caught fire. The guy first stood dancing around the chair, clutching at his hair, before finally having the good sense to kick his burning bag into the pool, thereby taking care of the flames once and for all.

From the consternation amongst the bathers, though, they didn’t seem to agree with his solution, for they loudly protested.

The guy, not heeding any attention to these feeble protests, dove into the water to retrieve his ’stash’.

Shaking her head, Erin heaved a sigh of relief. Good riddance, she thought, both of the guy and the junk he peddled.

A flash of light had her look up again, and she saw that it came from one of the rooms. Shielding her eyes with her hand, she searched the source of the flash, and when she saw it seemed to come from the tenth floor, a sudden fear gripped her heart.

Now it was her turn to jump up from her chair. Quickly making her way over to Sophie, she cried, “Someone is in your room, Soph!”

Both Sophie and Burke looked up in the direction indicated, and for a brief moment, they could clearly see a shadow passing before Sophie’s window. Then it was gone.

“Burglars!” cried Sophie, springing from her chair.

Burke, too, sprang into action. “We better hurry. Those guys are quick as lightning. Do you keep any valuables in your room? Laptops, jewelry, money?”

“Yes, yes and yes!” both Sophie and I cried out in horror.

The three of us quickly made our way inside, then to the bank of elevators. Three minutes later we arrived upstairs, and Sophie made to insert her key into the lock.

Burke enclosed his hand over hers, and whispered, “Let me go first. I know how to handle these people.”

Gratefully, Sophie released her key, and Burke carefully twisted it in the lock, then noiselessly turned the handle and stepped inside.

Chewing our lips, we both stood waiting while Burke stole silently into the room. Suddenly, a loud banging noise sounded from inside, and we both jumped a foot in the air.

Burke’s deep voice came from inside. “You better come in. See if they took something.”

Hurrying, we stormed inside, and were horrified by the devastation that met our eyes. Clothes had haphazardly been strewn across the room, the mattress turned over, and Sophie’s luggage dumped in a corner of the room.

I immediately made my way to the connecting door to check on my room. The moment I crossed the threshold, I was shocked to find my room in the exact same state as Sophie’s: someone had clearly done a number on us, as all of my stuff lay scattered around the room.

I hurried in to check my hand luggage, where I kept my valuables. I’d carefully tucked it away on the top shelf of the closet. Reaching up, I was relieved to find it still in place, and taking it down and feeling its bulky contents, I knew I’d been spared a horrible ordeal.

Opening the bag, I saw that my tablet computer, my briefcase with my tickets, ID and money were all still there.

I expelled a long sigh of relief, then quickly tucked the bag back in its hiding place, and ran into Sophie’s room.

“And? What did they take?”

From the look on Sophie’s face, things weren’t as bad as they seemed. “Good thing I put this on top of the closet,” she said as she showed me the slim briefcase that acted as her purse. “What about you?”

“I’m fine. They didn’t take anything.”

Sophie frowned and plunked down on the bed. “Odd. Seems like very stupid thieves, then.”

“Probably some locals,” suggested Burke, who’d stood surveying the wreckage with arms crossed like a sentry. “They’re extremely eager but not always too bright.”

Suddenly, someone called out from the doorway. “Anybody hurt?”

I looked up with relief when I found myself staring into Raminar’s face.

“Oh, Ram,” I breathed, suddenly feeling tears sting behind my eyes. “We’ve been burgled.”

He joined me in the center of the room, and when he pulled me into a comforting embrace, I eagerly let him. It felt good to have his strong arms around me, and when Sophie sprang up from the bed and expectantly gazed up at Burke, the big guy didn’t waste time to replicate the treatment. Only instead of using his arms, he drew Sophie against him and claimed her lips instead. She eagerly reciprocated.

Chapter 11

Ram watched from the corner of his eye as his friend and associate took advantage of the situation by stealing a kiss from Sophie. For a moment, he contemplated doing something similar himself. Lord knew he wanted to, but he decided against it. Too much too soon.

Just feeling her in his arms was enough for now. The rest would come later. At least, that’s what he hoped. The fact she’d allowed him to embrace her told him there was reason for optimism. At least she didn’t detest him. Too soon to tell if she liked him enough to want to sleep with him, but at least she wasn’t repulsed by him the way she was with the German guy before.

Judging from the way she looked at the fellow, she couldn’t wait to be rid of him. He’d made a bit of an ass of himself feeling jealous of such a sad excuse for a human being. The moment he saw the expression on Erin’s face through the binoculars, his equanimity had returned.

Setting fire to the guy’s bag had been a welcome bonus, and from this distance an easy shot for an expert marksman such as himself. The heat from the sun had done the rest, the tiny flare merely providing the spark that ignited the rest of the package.

And then there was the ‘burglary’. He’d made sure he caught Erin’s attention, but even if he hadn’t, she would have discovered the break-in sooner or later, and he’d have been ready for her when she did.

The fact that Burke had been there as well couldn’t be helped. He’d rather his friend wasn’t informed of his secret plans with young Erin, but even if he did, it made no difference.

Perhaps it would even ease the tension that had been crackling between them ever since Burke had arrived in Goa.

Though he’d explained the importance of the mission, Burke’s taste for pussy kept leading the man astray. Once they both got that out of their system, perhaps they could finally focus on matters of more importance.

“It’s all right,” he murmured in Erin’s ear. Her supple body was molded against his, and he could feel every curve and swell.

Once again, he felt his cock go rigid, and he feared she might be alerted of his growing lust. If she did, she didn’t show it, for she nestled even closer to him, slinging her arms around his neck and pressing her face against his chest.
