“What the hell was your plan?” I say slightly irritated. What on earth could he possibly be thinking?

“I was thinking we could both go back to my place or your dorm, and hang out,” he says like it was no big deal.

“Oh, so how did you get that I would want to cut your nuts off then?” I ask dumbfounded.

“Because Liv, I figured you would think I was trying to play you right out of your panties,” he says with a laugh.

“No, because that’
s not happening, we can hang out, but I can promise that nothing’s going to happen,” I state truthfully.

“Princess, I didn’t assume anything was going to happen. Don’t worry. Do you want to hang out at your dorm or at my house?” he asks sweetly.

“Whichever is closer is fine with me,” I say back, I don’t think he would try anything with me at this point and I’m actually having fun hanging out.

“My house is closer, but we can go back to your dorm if
you want,” he says glancing over at me.

“Your place is fine, just don’t try anything funny,” I say holding my finger out at him trying to look all serious.

“No worries princess,” he says as he continues to drive.

The rest of the drive is quiet
and it’s a short distance to his place. Levi parks in front of a two story house that is blue with white shutters and a wrap-around porch. It looks like a gorgeous ranch style house.

“How many guys live with you?” I ask as I get out of the car still staring at the house.

“Three guys and myself,” he says as he leads me to the front door.

When we
step inside the place has beautiful hardwood floors, pictures are all around and it’s clean, really clean. I’m surprised for four guys living here that it would look like this. My face must say it all because Levi calls me out on it.

“Liv, just because four guys live to
gether doesn’t mean we’re slobs,” he says with a laugh.

“I didn’t say anything,
” I quickly mutter back trying to feign a look of innocence but I’m sure I’m failing miserably.

“You didn’t
have to, your face said it all,” he says with a smile.

“I’m surprised, that’
s all. Your place is beautiful and yes, surprisingly clean,” I say with a smile.

“I’m not sure which of the guys are here,
but I’ll introduce you to them,” he says as he takes my coat.

The rest of the evening goes by without an issue. I get the chance to meet two of his roommates, Bryan and Scott
; we all hang out and talk about school, sports, and random shit. I’m starting to see a different side of Levi, especially when he interacts with his roommates. Maybe he isn’t such a bad guy after all. A little after eight, Levi takes me back to my dorm, we say our goodbyes and I head inside to relax and catch up on some Kindle reading.

“Okay
biatch, wake the hell up,” I hear as my covers are being pulled from my body.

“What the hell B?”

“Not, what the hell, you had me fucking worried, you never called me. I’ve been blowing up your damn phone. I thought something fucking happened to you,” she yells angrily.

I look at
the phone and realize my battery’s dead. “I’m sorry B, my phones dead,” I say holding the phone up for her to see.

“Next time
, charge the shit. Don’t you ever pull that shit on me again,” she says with worry in her eyes.

I stand up and give my best friend a hug. “I’m sorry. I didn’t want to spoil your night with Chad, and figured we would t
alk tomorrow. Brynn, I’m fine,” I say assuring her.

“I don’t think you should go out with Levi again,” she says
out of nowhere.

“Why not?”
I ask curiously. She was the one telling me to go out with him in the first place.

“I asked Chad about him, and he’s not the kind of guy for you Liv,” she says
softly.

“What does that mean?” I ask questioningly.

“Chad said Levi’s a nice guy, but is a major player with the ladies. I told him you were out on a date with him and Chad almost flipped. He was ready to go and pick you up from your date, but I didn’t know where he was taking you, and you never answered your texts,” she says with a sad look.

“I know all about how Levi is, so don’t worry. I’m not going to date him, but he’s fun to hang out
with as friends,” I say to lighten the mood.

“So
, he didn’t try anything on you?” she asks confused.

“We went to eat and let’s just say I was able to see what kind of guy Levi was right then and th
ere. I told him we will only ever just be friends.”

“And he accepted that?” she asks still looking confused.

“He doesn’t really have a choice,” I say with a laugh, “But the rest of the night was fun from then on out.”

“Sorry, I thought Levi might be a good guy,” she says apologetically.

“He is a good guy at times, but just not my type,” I say with a smile.

It’s around 1 a.m., so we talk for a few
more minutes then Brynn heads back to Chad, who’s waiting in the car.

The next few weeks go by quickly and life is good. I’m spending quality tim
e with my best friend, while also hanging out with Levi. No matter how many times I keep telling Levi we are only going to be friends, he keeps telling me he’s going to get me to change my mind. I’m positive that’s not going to happen. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a lot of fun to hang out with, I’m just not into the whole dating a player thing. We do have a few things in common, but they are outweighed by the number of differences.

“What are your plans for tonight?” Brynn asks.

“I’m helping to decorate the sorority house for tomorrow night. Why?” I ask curiously.

“No, I mean after that?” she says.

“Probably hanging out with Soph, again why?” I ask my crazy best friend.

“Well, I was thinking I could introduce you to someone,” she says with a sly grin on her face.

“Seriously B, I thought we discussed this,” I state.

“Liv,
Wolffe is back and I think he would be perfect for you. You two have so much in common it’s freaking scary,” she says with an odd look on her face.

“And how would you know what we have in common?” I ask curiously.

“He’s Chad’s roommate, hello, he hangs out with us at the house. Shit, I almost called him your name once, because his fucking answers sound like yours,” she says with a serious look.

I start laughing;
only my best friend would call a guy, me. “You are crazy. Is this the guy you told me about months ago?”

“Hell yes!” she yells.

“I believe the last time you told me about him, he had a girlfriend, did that change?” I ask suspiciously.

“No, he’s still with her
, but she’s such a bitch,” Brynn says with venom in her voice.

“B, you can’t seriously be trying to hook me up with someone who’s taken,” I snap.

“I know it’s just that you two are perfect for each other. It’s like you share the same brain or something,” she says with a weird look.

“I highly doubt that,” I say with a laugh.

“No Liv, I’m serious, you two even love the same type of cake,” she says looking at me all serious.

“It’s a common type of cake,” I say through another laugh, not believing the words that are coming out of her mouth right now.

“A vanilla cake with strawberries layered into it, with vanilla icing is not that common,” she deadpans.

I can’t do anything, but laugh at the ridiculous
ness of Brynn’s logic. “Please stop B, you’re killing me,” I say through laughter.

“Fine, I’ll stop. That reminds me, your birthday’s coming up. Do you want your par
ty anywhere specific?” she asks completely changing the topic.

“No party Brynn, I just want something small with friends,” I state, hoping she will oblige.

“No can do sweetheart. Chad and I already talked about it, and we’re totally throwing you a party. It may be a dual party, but that’s not a big deal,” she says with a smirk.

“I don’t want a party. Plea
se Brynn, listen to me for once…, no party,” I say again.

“Liv, you’re getting a fucking party, so deal with it,” she states in a tone
that says, this conversation is over.

“Ugh, damn it B, why can’t you listen for once?” I say irritated.

“Because, I’m your best friend, and I want to throw you a party,” she says with a knowing look.

“Damn it, I hate you sometimes,” I say, then follow it by
shaking my head.

“I knew you would see it my way. Now, no worries, I will take care of everything. Once I have the details laid out, I’ll let you know,” she says excitedly.

“Whatever,” I mumble.

Later that evening
, after decorating the sorority house for the party, we lounge around the house watching movies and eating ice cream. It feels good to relax and not worry about a party or anything really.

“So, what are your plans for later?”
Soph says looking like she’s up to something.

“This,” I state
, pointing to myself, the couch, and the TV.

“No seriously Liv? You can’t seriously be thinking of spending the rest of the night doing this.” she says
, looking at me like I’m a foreign creature.

“Why not?”
I ask confused.

“This is college life, that’s why. We need to go party it up,” she says with a laugh.

“You talked to Brynn earlier, didn’t you?”

“Maybe,” she says, looking guilty.

“No, I’m not going to a party. No, I’m not meeting a guy who’s taken. The answer is NO,” I state all serious.

“Please for me?” Sophie pleads.

“What do you mean for you? Why do you want to go?” I ask curiously.

Umm…because Caden is going to be there,” she says with a huge smile plastered on her face.

“Who the hell is
Caden?” I ask confused.

“You know, the guy we picked out at the one party we went to,” she says like I should already know.

“No, I have no clue what you’re talking about,” I state.

“Ugh, woman yes you do, you and Brynn helped pick him out,” she says looking at me with wide eyes.

“The tattooed, pierced guy?” I ask confused.

“Hell yes, the tatto
oed, pierced guy. His name is Caden by the way,” she says with a smile.

“If you want to see him again
, why don’t you just call him to hang out?” I say.

“Because, then I’ll look needy and I’m so not that girl. He was great in bed and well if we just so happen to run into him, like tonight, I can possibly get another night,” she says practically beaming.

“And how do you know if Caden will even be at the party we go to?” I ask.

“That’s
easy; Brynn already messaged me and told me he was there. So can we go, please, please, pretty please?” she begs.

“Damn you and Brynn,” I snap as I get up from my comfy spot on the couch.

“I love you Liv,” she states standing up with a smile a mile long.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m not dressing up. I have jeans, and a hoodie and I’m not changing into anything else,” I state all serious.

“Fine by me,” she says heading towards her room, probably to change.

Thirty minutes later Sophie comes walking out all dressed up. She’s wearing her blonde hair pulled up with
curls; she has on a light blue low cut top, which shows off her assets, with skinny jeans, and high-heeled boots. She’s wearing something Brynn would wear.

“Don’t you look all dolled up?” I say motioning to her outfit.

“I’m trying to get laid again, I gotta remind him of what he’s missing,” she states with a smile.

“Lead the way,” I say gesturing towards the door.

We make the short walk to the party, and it’s in full party mode. People are crowded everywhere inside because it’s still chilly. Finding Brynn is going to be hard with the amount of people here.

“There you are,” I hear behind me. As I turn around I see a happy looking Brynn. I guess it wasn’t too hard for her to find us.

“We just got here,” I state to my best friend.

“Damn girl, I love your outfit,” Brynn says to Sophie, see told you, they could share closets. “Liv, what the hell are you wearing a hoodie for?” she says looking unhappy with my choice of clothing.

“I had plans to stay at home, so this is what you get,” I state.

“One of these days you will hate wearing hooded sweatshirts,” she states in a serious voice.

I start laughing, “Not likely,” I state.

Brynn pulls us along in the direction of the drinks. We each get ourselves one and then head to where she left lover boy. They are in the downstairs of the house drinking and talking basketball, go figure. There’s quite a crowd down here, but not nearly as bad as upstairs. I find a spot on the couch and make myself comfortable with my beer in hand. Brynn introduces me to some of the guys I haven’t met before and I say hi to the one’s I already know. I’m feeling bored already though. As I sit on the couch drinking my beer
, I start to watch the game that’s on TV. Anything is better than discussing what the guys are talking about right now, which is the different ways they each have had sex. I’m pretty sure I don’t care.

All of a sudden Brynn plops down beside me, “Where did you go?” she says looking at me confused.

“Huh?” is my only response.

“I’ve been saying your name for like two minutes and you completely ignored me,” she states.

“Sorry, I tuned out the guys’ conversation and just focused on the TV,” I tell her.

“I don’t blame you. Guys and their conquests,” she says with a laugh.

I start to laugh with her, because boys will be boys.

“Oh and I forgot to tell you,
Wolffe left before you got here, so I can’t introduce you to him. Not that I could in that outfit anyway,” she says pointing to my sweatshirt.

“I don’t care about meeting
Wolffe, I told you that already,” I state.

“I know, but I really want you to meet him. He’s cool to hang out and joke with and I know you guys will get along great,” she says with a smile.

“Whatever B,” I say with a shrug.

“Ugh, I seriously hate his bi
tch-faced girlfriend,” she spat.

“B, what the hell did his girlfriend do to you?” I ask curiously.

“It’s not what she did to me, its how she acts and how she treats Wolffe. He seriously can do so much better than a skank bitch like her,” she says angrily.

“If he didn’t want to be with her then he doesn’t have to be, he can choose to break up with her,” I state.

“It’s not that easy. He’s tried to break up with her, but she comes whining and crying and he feels bad so he gives in,” she says looking solemn.

“Seriously?”
I say with a laugh.

“I am serious,” she says deadpanned.

“Then he needs to man up, tell him to grow some balls,” I state all serious.

“Who needs to grow some balls?” Chad asks as he approaches us.

“No one,” I say quickly.

“We were talking about
Wolffe and his situation with his bitch of a girlfriend,” Brynn tells Chad.

“Have you even met
Wolffe yet?” Chad asks me curiously.

I start laughing, “No,
but Brynn here seems determined to change that,” I state.

“Oh I
know, so does Wolffe. You should hear the shit she tells him,” Chad says with a laugh.
