He took the package and opened the envelope before reading it over. He peeked at me over the top of the papers then went back to reading. Finally, he looked back at me and smiled. “Bishop is not the father.”

“I knew it!” I said, releasing a breath I didn’t even realize I was holding. I ran to the dresser and grabbed my cell phone off the charger while I immediately dialed Bishop’s number.

“Yea,” he said, unenthused.

“I take it you got the mail and the results,” I said.

“Yea, I told you all I wanted was the truth and now I got it, so you don’t have to worry about that anymore but I would at least like to get to know my only niece. I think my brother would have liked that.”

“Look Bishop, I don’t have a problem with you getting to know your niece. I would love for you to get to know her, I just don’t want no bullshit,” I said seriously.

“C’mon Nae Nae, chill with all that,” he chuckled.

“I’m not playing with you Bishop.”

“I know you’re not.”

“Cool, I call you with some arrangements then.”

“That will be cool.”

I hung up the phone and looked at Micah. “I guess you’re next,” I said.

“Like hell. I’m not taking no damn DNA test,” he said, looking at me like I’m crazy.

“Why not, Micah? You slept with her, didn’t you?” I asked, matching his attitude.

“Janae, don’t even try it, you just want me to admit to the bullshit but I’m not even about to go there with you right now,” he said.

“She wouldn’t be requesting a DNA test for her son if you didn’t sleep with her.”

He stopped and rubbed down his face with his hand before speaking again, “Alright,” he shrugged. “Me and Kell ran a train on the bitch, but that was way before I met you and back when Neicey was in a coma. It happened one time and one time only, so therefore I know for a fact that Tyriq is my
nephew
and not my
son
. I will still go to court to support my little brother but all that other bullshit ain’t happening.”

I was stuck for a minute because I couldn’t believe he would actually admit to it but I can’t even be mad because the shit happened. I trust him and I know he would never cheat on me or do anything to hurt me.

“It’s crazy how after all the shit that Mykell and Neicey have been through they still manage to be happy,” I said as I sat on the bed.

“They literally have been through hell and back, but no matter what always seem to get it together,” said Micah, walking out of the closet.

“Yea, I just hate that after all this time her and Lani got into it. I would hate for their friendship to end.” I shook my head.

“Don’t even trip, emotions were high that night and they both are one and the same and speak whatever comes to their mind, which is why they were made to be friends. They’ll eventually get it together, they’re both being stubborn right now. Plus, Pops and Big Mone not about to let that shit slide,” he laughed.

“I really thought they were about to fight though.”

“They probably would have, but let another bitch say something to one of them today, I bet you they will forget they were ever beefing and beat that bitch ass like it’s nothing.” He smiled, jumping on the bed with me.

“Mack, can I ask you a question?” I looked at him so he would know that I was serious.

“Yea, what’s up?”

I sat there thinking of a way to word what I wanted to ask him. I couldn’t find the right words so I just right on out and said it. “Do you think I’m a bird bitch because I slept with Bishop? I mean do you look at me differently now?” I asked.

He sat up on the bed. “Janae look, I really don’t give a fuck what you did in your past. That shit was before me and nobody is perfect, that’s including me. I don’t look at you any differently than I did the first time I laid eyes on you. The only reason I was mad was because you kept it from me and I thought you were still fucking that nigga because you had him in my house.”

“I just don’t want you to think that I would try to do something with Mykell, or even Ramone, for that matter. I was young and I made a big mistake that I’m still regretting to this day.”

“Oh, I know you wouldn’t do that. Even if you did, I’m not the one you would have to worry about because Neicey and Le’Lani would slaughter yo ass if you even tried.” He laughed and I just punched him in the arm playfully.

“Whatever Micah,” I laughed with him.

Lani

“I’m telling you Ramone, she bucked like she really wanted to fight,” I explained what happened to him what happened between me and his sister.

“Lani, you should have not even said nothing to her, you know how her ass gets when she got a lot going on. Ladybug wasn’t built to handle stressful situations like that and shit,” he said.

I looked at him like I wanted to slap the shit out of him in that damn hospital bed. “I should have known you would take up for her.” I rolled my eyes.

“You damn right. Just like I took up for you when I said she was wrong for blaming the shit on you. I’m not taking nobody’s side because I refuse to get in the middle of it. Knowing y’all, you gon be back the best of friends before the end of the week,” he said while throwing a piece of ice at my head.

“Yea, okay, she step to me like that again and I will have no choice but to beat her lil pregnant ass,” I chuckled.

“You ain’t gon do shit or I’ll have to fuck you up myself. You better leave my Ladybug alone.”

“Shut up…By the way, Carmen text me and said she’ll be bringing the kids back in another hour, the girls don’t want to leave Keiyari.”

“They miss their brother.” He gave me the side eye.

“Don’t go there Ramone, I thought…” I stopped mid-sentence when I saw Maya walk into the room. I rolled my eyes over to Ramone and he looked annoyed.

“I hope I’m not interrupting,” she said sarcastically.

“Actually you are, we were actually having family time. Ramone, I thought you gave her ass her walking papers,” I said, never taking my eyes off her.

“Chill Lani,” he said.

“Yea, chill Lani, I don’t know why you feel so threatened by me,” she smiled.

“Bitch, don’t nobody have to be threatened by your ass, you’re a fucking nobody. I already told your ass once, which was one too many times for me, so it would be in your best interest for me not to make me say it again. Disappear on your own bitch or I’ll make it happen for you,” we all heard someone say.

Everybody’s eyes shifted to the door where Neicey was standing with Big Mone by her side. She was glaring a hole through Maya and I wanted to laugh because Maya actually looked frightened by Neicey’s threat, which I knew for a fact that she would make good on if she had to.

Big Mone whispered something in her ear and she put on a fake smile while walking towards Ramone’s hospital bed.

“Anyways Ramone, I just came to see how you were doing. I’ll talk to you later,” said Maya, moving towards the door.

“I highly doubt that, lose the number,” Neicey said.

Big Mone came over to me and gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. “How’s my favorite daughter-in-law?” he asked.

“I’m good, but I’m not too sure that I’m your daughter-in-law since I don’t have a ring or anything,” I said, cutting my eyes at Neicey while she rolled her eyes at me in response.

“Alright, now that I have both of you here in the same room, it’s time we cut the bullshit. I don’ like the shit I heard about you two thinking it was okay for y’all to talk crazy to each other and think y’all were about to go to blows. I don’t care who said what or who did what, but it’s done, over with and y’all are over it. I don’t want no more shit out of either of you,” Ramone said, looking from his sister to me.

She was playing on her phone acting like she didn’t hear shit he said and I just shook my head.
This girl is so damn stubborn.

He
pinched her in her arm and she winced in pain. “Oooouch! Why you do that? Daddy!” she whined.

“You should really listen to your brother; he knows what he’s talking about,” Big Mone laughed.

“I heard him but he didn’t have to pinch me,” she mumbled.

Being the bigger person, I decided to start up a conversation with her. “So when do you go to the doctors to find out what you’re having?”

“In two days,” she answered.

“Wait, Mykell goes to court tomorrow though,” I said.

“I know, and I leave tonight.”

“So you’re not going?” I asked as if I didn’t believe her.

“Nah, I have to get back and check on Chyanne because she wasn’t feeling too good before we left and I’m also taking her to her appointment. But no worries, he has you guys to be there for him and show support. Besides, I don’t want to have to choke his baby mama.”

I laughed, those two are always fighting like damn cats and dog but knowing damn well they’re not going anywhere.

Mykell

I was speeding down the street, hoping I wouldn’t be late. This was a very important appointment that I refused to miss. When I got to my destination, I rushed to the front desk and got the information I needed. When I reached the door, I took a deep breath before opening the door.
I made it just in time.
Chyanne was sitting in the chair and Neicey was lying on the table. She looked confused when she noticed me walk through the door.

“What are you doing here?” she asked.

“I came to check on you and my daughter,” I looked over at Chyanne. “And grandson.”

“Too bad you’re having a granddaughter,” Chyanne laughed.

“Aw shit, I guess there won’t be a Mykell the Third, huh?”

“Again, what are you doing here?” Neicey questioned again.

“Court was cancelled because nobody can find Candy and I got the test done on Tyriq before we even left for Detroit and it confirmed what I already knew; he’s mine,” I answered.

Thirty minutes later, we were walking out of the doctor’s office anticipating the arrival of our new princess, Kamora Cherice Jones. Only two more months to go and she’ll be here. I decided to take the ladies shopping so they could get some stuff for the new additions to the family. I don’t care what anyone says or what the results come out to be, Chyanne and that baby will always be a part of our family, and I’m pretty sure everyone else feels the same way.

“So Chy Chy, what are we naming the baby?” I asked.

“Since it’s a girl, she will be Mikyah Jadore Jones.”

“That’s cute!” Neicey gushed.

“Yea, I like that,” I agreed.

We were walking through the mall when someone bumped into Chyanne, and just my damn luck, it was none other than the infamous Toni Hunt.
Lord please be with me.
“Just keep walking and don’t say nothing.” I told Neicey.

“Really Mykell? That’s how you act after all the business we handled?” Toni smiled and I knew right then this bitch was really delusional.

I kept walking hoping Neicey would do the same and not act a damn fool, my prayers were answered because she just chuckled and walked away.
