“So, Jamal says that he and the wicked witch of the west are now getting a divorce. What are y’all’s thoughts on that?”

“I don’t even know what to say about that. Has he still been kicking it with you at your crib?” ShaKita questioned.

“Yep,” Lauren said. “But, don’t start with me Kita. I’ve been scared out of my mind. I don’t know why I just feel like Rich is gonna get out of jail and come looking for me.”

“I don’t know,” ShaKita said. “The way he looked when I saw him would make a nigga think long and hard before he did something else like that. He might wanna kill himself first.” She said, causing the sisters to laugh.

“I wish you would’ve taken a picture so that I could’ve seen his ratchet ass.” Kerry said.

“Me too,” Lauren stated with a light chuckle. She could laugh at it now, but when it was going down there was nothing funny. “I couldn’t believe that he turned out to be that type of nigga in so little time. It didn’t take him long at all to show his true colors.”

“It sure didn’t,” Kerry chimed in. “He definitely fooled me, but what’d you expect. He was at your wedding reception and no one even knew him.” ShaKita laughed out loud. Kerry definitely was funny at times. This caused Lauren, Janay, and ShaKita to laugh too.

“Hell, I thought he knew the groom, but then Bianca said that Tory didn’t know him.” ShaKita said.

Lauren shook her head, because her sisters were still tripping about Rich. “Y’all, he said that he was supposed to be meeting somebody there, but they didn’t show. Soooo, he just came on inside the reception when he saw me walking in from the car.”

“Who invites themselves to a party that they’re not invited to?” Janay pondered.

“Rich’s ol’ bomb ass, punk ass, snake ass, funky ass, ratchet bitch ass!” ShaKita said. They all fell out laughing.

“Kita, your ass is crazy!” Lauren said. “That shit didn’t even make sense, but it was funny.”

“I second that,” Janay said, shaking her head.

“Well, let me fill y’all in on what’s been going on with me, my hubby and the in-laws.”

“Yesssss,” ShaKita said. “Please, let me hear about that.”

“I’d always thought that Mrs. Carter didn’t like me and for some time I’m sure she didn’t, but she has come around. We aren’t absolutely sure, because we have no evidence against this woman, but Finn’s Aunt Lily was definitely playing all of us. She seemed so sweet to me in the beginning. I thought that she approved of my relationship with her nephew, but she was only trying to get me out of their lives by any means necessary.”

“You thought the lady was making you sick by putting something in your food?” ShaKita pondered. “Mom was telling me a little something about it, but I just couldn’t believe what I was hearing.”

“Well, believe it.” Janay said. “I do believe that she was putting something in my food. That day when she’d sent me some of that Chicken Gumbo, I blanked out and almost burned the house down.”

“Yeah, I remember that day because we were talking when you were heating it up.” Lauren added.

“I also believe that she’d been the one making Mr. Carter sick.”

“Hush your mouth!” Lauren said out of shock. “I always felt like some kind of shady shit was being done to that man. I just thought that it was his wife.”

“Believe it or not, I did too at first. But, the truth is that Mrs. Carter loves her husband. She loves her son and her family comes first. She’s just an overprotective mom and because of that I was thinking sideways about her, but the only one that’s lonely in this picture is-”

“That ratchet ass Aunt Lily!” ShaKita cut in.

“YOU KNOW WHAT TO SAY!” Janay said as they laughed out loud. “Her son died years ago. It was a strange turn of events. They found him dead in the backyard. Apparently, somebody had knocked him in the head with something and killed him. They are yet to find the person that did it.”

Kerry tooted up her lips with an unpleasant look. “Damn, you think that she would’ve killed her own son?”

“I think she would’ve done anything to prevent people from finding out that she was putting something in her husband’s food that was making him sick.”

“Damn,” Kerry said. “That bitch is psycho.”

“Her husband used to be sick just like Mr. Carter. Come to find out she’d found out about him cheating on her and I believe that’s when she started making him sick.”

“Woooooow,” ShaKita said.

“According to Mrs. Carter, the day her son was found dead, she told her that she was fixing the Mr. something to eat and her son came in. They had a few words and he left. Next thing she knew, he was dead.”

“Hmmm,” Lauren said with a shake of the head. “He probably caught her ass putting something in his daddy’s food and confronted her. She probably had to kill him to save her own ass.”

“Y’all, this is too much.” Kerry said, still not really believing any of it. “I just don’t see how a woman could kill her own child.”

“Well, it happens every day. Just because we’re great parents and could hardly even spank ours, don’t mean that everyone thinks the way we do.” Lauren said.

“True,” ShaKita chimed in.

“Well, we couldn’t catch her like I said, but it’s too much that added up to her being the snake in the grass. Mrs. Carter sent her ass packing and told her to get some help or she would have her ass locked up. And, she said it straight like that.”

“Well damn,” Lauren said.

“I mean, we’ve been good since then. Mrs. Carter has been showing me nothing but love and she respects my decisions to not have Heather around like that. Heather is cool people, but I still feel like she wants my husband.”

“And, if you still feel like that then keep your guard up.” Kerry said.

“Oh trust me, I am.” Janay said.

“So Kita,” Janay called out. “What happened to you and Coco?”

“Girl, I’m actually with Rocky now and Coco is a thing of the past. I got out of jail and hadn’t heard from her since.”

“Maybe she has found another woman to stalk.” Lauren said.

“You just never know,” Kerry chimed in. “Just as long as she keeps her ratchet ass from around you then we’re good.”

“So, what’s up with you and Justin?” Janay asked Kerry. Anytime she came home, she had to catch up face to face. It was more entertaining that way.

“Me and Justin, hmmm,” Kerry said.  “I guess there isn’t much to tell. However, I’ve missed my fucking period. It’s only a week late, but I know something ain’t right.”

“WHAAAAT!!!” The sisters nearly said in unison since she hadn’t told a soul, yet.

“Yes,” Kerry said with a disappointed shake of the head. “I’ve not even taken him back and yet I feel like I could be expecting.”

“Hell, I didn’t know that you were still even fucking around with him.” ShaKita said with a frown. “You ratchet for that shit.”

“It just happened, Kita.” Kerry said with a roll of the eyes.

“Hush Kita,” Lauren chimed in. “But Kerry, that’s crazy. This doesn’t have to be a bad thing.”

“Tell the truth, Lolo.” ShaKita stated giving her sister the side eye.

“Weeeeeell, it’s kinda bad because it’s by his nasty ass, but you do love kids.”

“Just because I love kids, doesn’t mean that I want any more. I’m not even sure how I feel about this. I’ve been even thinking of getting an abortion if I am pregnant.”

Janay grabbed her chest. “Stop lying. You don’t even believe in abortions.”

“Well, now I do.” She said.

“I say congratulations and to keep the baby. Things happen for a reason.” Janay said.

“Sis is right,” Lauren chimed in. “I just don’t see you doing that.”

“No wonder she hasn’t been drinking with us this evening.” Janay added. “Speaking of drinks, where is y’all’s other sister. We’re supposed to be leaving within the next thirty minutes to go to mom and dad’s anniversary. Yet, she is still upstairs doing what?”

“I don’t know. I know she’s glad that Tessa found her own crib last week.” Lauren informed them.

“I’m surprised that she even let Tessa move in, but they are best friends and can understand each other better than any of us ever could.”

“I can agree,” ShaKita said with a chuckle. Somebody needs to go get her ass. I’m ready to party. Plus, Rocky is meeting me there. I think I’m in love.”

“Aww, Kita’s in love,” Janay teased.

“Oh hush, trick.” ShaKita said as they all started laughing.

Meanwhile, Bianca was locked up in her bedroom. After Tory left the house, she’d gone snooping through his things again. She’d been looking for something to pin him to the lovely Doctor Thomas and finally she got what she was looking for. Seeing the word Oncologist on her Doctor’s jacket should’ve told her something, but she was looking for something else entirely like him having a past romance with the woman. Never in a million years did she think she’d find the paperwork stating that he was in remission from having testicular cancer.

“My God, I should’ve just left it alone.” She said, not really knowing what to do with the information. She wanted to tell him that she knew, but he was keeping it from her for a reason. What was she to do? She dried her tears, having been locked up in the room for the past hour. The girls were so busy entertaining each other until they didn’t pay much mind to her disappearing and now she wished that she would’ve kept her nosy ass downstairs with them. She was beyond hurt. The man that she loved could get sick at any time and possibly leave her alone. The thought of being left alone again, scared her to death.

“B,” Lauren called out from down the stairs. “We’re gonna be leaving in a little while. What are you doing?”

Bianca got up to get herself together. She knew that if she didn’t go downstairs soon, that her sisters would be coming upstairs to get her.

Ten minutes later, she joined them. As she walked in the living room where they were now grabbing their purses and getting ready to walk out, she stopped them.

“Hey,” she said causing them to turn to her.

“Bout time,” Lauren said. “What the hell were you doing up there?”

“B, you look like you’ve been crying.” Janay said. “What’s wrong?”

Bianca’s tears started falling again. “I just found some papers that said that my husband is in remission of testicular cancer.”

“What?” Lauren said out of concern.

“What do you mean you found some papers?” Kerry asked. “He didn’t tell you that?”

“No he didn’t,” Bianca said. “I don’t believe he wants me to know because he thinks I’ll freak out.”

“He’s right,” ShaKita said as she walked over and hugged Bianca. “It’s going to be alright. Didn’t you say that he was in remission?”

“Yes, but it’s still scary.”

“Don’t let this news ruin the night, B.” Janay said. “Be thankful that your husband is here with you. He may not have shared that information, but he loves you. God put him in your life for a reason. I just can’t believe that it was for him to leave you like that. Y’all are going to be just fine. You just have to be thankful for each day that y’all are together. Anything can happen to each of us at any given time. You can’t think about that. Hold on to the joy that he continues to bring in your life and let go of any negative thing that comes your way. You and Tory will be married just as long as mom and dad.”

“You’re right, Janay.” Kerry said. “We’ll get through this together like we always do.” She walked over and hugged her sister.

“Dry your eyes, we got your back.” Janay chimed in again.

“Aww, y’all are about to make me mushy now.” Lauren added as she walked over and hugged Bianca too. They all were circled in a group hug and Bianca felt the love that her sisters always showed her. They never wavered and it felt good to be a Ware sister.

“Okaaay, I love y’all so much.” Bianca said. “Now, let’s go before my husband comes back home looking for me.”

“I know right,” ShaKita said. “Fooling with you we’re gonna be late.” They all headed for the door, laughing and talking.

Lauren closed the door shut behind them as they headed to Bianca’s SUV. “Janay, we can tell that you’re married to a preacher. That speech you gave back there was nice as hell. Finn would’ve been so proud of you had he heard it.”

ShaKita stopped and looked around. Lauren noticed that she’d stopped. “Come on bitch, so we can go.”

“I swear I be feeling like somebody is watching me.” ShaKita said, but she didn’t see a soul while standing in Bianca’s front yard.

“Come on, Kitaaaa!” Lauren called out.

“I’m coming y’all,” she said then headed to the SUV to get in with her sisters so they could leave. As Bianca drove off, ShaKita still felt funny. She didn’t reveal to the girls that she’d been getting some strange phone calls for the past couple of weeks with someone just breathing in the phone. She didn’t want to worry anybody so she kept it to herself. As she sat in the back seat, she decided to shake it off just wanting to have a good time with her family.

As they left out of the neighborhood, Coco stepped from behind Bianca’s house. She’d been following ShaKita and watching her every move. She had plans for her, really big plans for her. Nobody was going to break her heart and get away with it.

“I got something for your ass,” she said like ShaKita was standing in her face. “I’m gonna teach y’all ratchet bitches yet about fucking with me.” She smiled with the most evil look on her face, and then skipped on across the street. She headed down the road where she’d hidden her car at, humming an eerie tune the entire way. She had plans of making all the Ware sisters pay for her heartache. One by one, she was going to get her revenge even if it killed her.
