Remy looked at Knox, confused.

“What he meant was you were leaving us in Monaco. Before Zachary took you. We’d all like to know what we did wrong.”

Remy felt her confusion grow. “What you did wrong? You didn’t do anything wrong.”

“Then why were you leaving? Sneaking away when we weren’t looking?” Drake’s voice sounded just as pissed as he looked.

Remy breathed deep. This was the moment she’d been waiting for.

“I heard what you said. About wanting out.”

All three brothers inhaled sharply. Their gazes were like laser beams on Remy’s face, and she had to look at the floor to avoid the intensity of those looks.

Remy rushed on, unable to stop the words tumbling from her lips and needing to get them out before she lost her nerve.

“I loved Monaco. It was beautiful and perfect, but I never expected it to be permanent.” Remy swallowed, realizing how badly she’d hoped it would be. “I heard you talking in the bedroom that last morning about how you wanted out and you hoped I wouldn’t make it difficult for you. I won’t stand in your way.”

Now was the hard part. Remy gathered her courage and looked at each brother, her gaze lingering on their faces.

“I know you didn’t want to break up the team, but you have to understand I can’t move forward like this, and I don’t think you can either. I know you hoped we’d still be able to work together, but I can’t do that. That’s why I have to go.”

Remy’s eyes were dry now. That had been probably the toughest thing she’d ever had to say, but she felt an enormous sense of relief now that it was out. She couldn’t say she felt good, but at least she felt like she was taking steps to move forward. She wasn’t even crying anymore.

She noticed that at the same time she became aware of the ominous silence in the room. She glanced up nervously, not sure she wanted to see the looks of relief on the triplets’ faces that she was sure would be there since she was handing them what they wanted on a silver platter. Just because she was giving them what they wanted didn’t mean she had to be thrilled about how pleased they’d be she was leaving.

Nothing could have prepared Remy for what she saw on the triplets’ faces.

Joss’s mouth hung open, his astonishment obvious. He opened and closed his mouth a few times like he was trying to think of what to say but gave up each time to simply stare at Remy in bewilderment.

Drake’s eyes were closed, and he pinched the bridge of his nose between his thumb and fingers, taking deliberately even breaths.

It was Knox’s expression that really floored her.

The wooden mask that had been his face these last weeks was gone, and in its place was so much emotion Remy thought he might explode. She watched, dumbfounded, as the play of emotions across his handsome features built to a crescendo, his face reddening as it settled into a grin that looked slightly unhinged.

Then he started to laugh. He buried his face in his hand, shaking his head and laughing like a madman, while pounding a fist onto the couch cushion beside him.

More than a little alarmed by the triplets’ apparent insanity, Remy started to edge toward the door. She didn’t know what was happening, and it unnerved her completely to see the polar-opposite responses each brother seemed to be having to her declaration.

“Stop.” Joss’s order cracked like a whip, stopping Remy in her tracks. She turned to focus on him once more, aware Drake was looking at her again and Knox had stopped laughing, the silence punctuated by an occasional snort as he got himself under control.

“Let me get this straight.” Joss stood up, walking nonchalantly to where Remy stood, causing her to move to the opposite side of the room to avoid having him brush right by her. On her way, though, Knox snaked an arm out as fast as lightning, catching her hand in his and holding fast. He hauled her close but didn’t pull her down, seeming content to hold her hand—tightly—while her attention shifted back to Joss.

“So you were eavesdropping.” Joss glowered at her, wearing an expression that would have looked much more at home on Drake’s face.

“No!” Remy corrected him, wanting to be clear on that point. “I was...well, it wasn’t important what I was doing, but I wasn’t eavesdropping.” Remy recalled exactly what she’d been doing at that particular moment. She’d been preparing to make an entrance wearing skimpy lingerie and a butt plug. She wasn’t about to admit it. “I overheard you talking, that’s all.”

“So you were eavesdropping.” Joss spoke with finality. “And you overheard part of a conversation. If…” He looked sternly at her. “If you’d ‘overheard’ the rest of the conversation we were having, all this might not have been necessary.”

Drake released an explosive breath, causing Remy to jump. She looked at him, surprised to see a gentleness come into his eyes. A gentleness with fire underneath, she amended.

“If it was up to you,” Drake began, leaning forward so his elbows rested on his knees, “would you want to leave? Forget everything you heard in Monaco. Everything you think you heard,” he said, correcting himself. He waved a hand as if to dismiss all of it, making Remy wonder what the hell was going on.

She thought about what Drake said, looking back and forth between the brothers. She didn’t know what was happening, but she’d promised herself she’d be honest with them. She shook her head slowly, feeling immensely vulnerable as she opened herself up to the triplets.

“No.” Remy drew a great, shuddering breath. “If it was up to me, I wouldn’t go anywhere. But not as your teammate,” she amended. “I would love to stay if I belonged to you.” There, she thought. She couldn’t be more honest than that. Well, there was one more thing she could do to be totally honest with them.

“I’d want to belong to all of you. All three of you.” Remy emphasized the last point, glaring defiantly at Drake and sticking her chin out. Now that they’d forced it out of her, she wasn’t about to waste time feeling guilty about it.

“Well now.” Drake’s voice had taken on a silky quality, and he positively purred at her. “If that’s the case, perhaps it’s time we tell you what you missed during that conversation you definitely weren’t eavesdropping on.”

With that, Knox spun her around using his grip on her hand and planted a strong shoulder into her stomach. He stood, lifting her without any apparent effort, and made his way toward the stairs.

Remy’s breath huffed out of her at the sudden move. She’d been winded momentarily when Knox lifted her up. She grabbed onto the waistband of his jeans to steady herself and tried to lift her head to see where he was heading. She could hear one of his brothers—she didn’t know which one—pounding up the stairs ahead of them, and in her limited view of things, she could see the bare feet of brother number three following close behind Knox.

Remy’s assessment of her predicament was cut short as she realized that, while Knox held her firmly in place with a muscled arm wrapped tightly around her thighs, his other hand played across her bottom. He was stroking her there, his big hand moving slowly back and forth across her cheeks. Remy couldn’t bring herself to complain. The weeks of no contact, of believing they’d thought the very worst of her dimmed as she focused on the sweet caress of that big hand across her cheeks. She dropped her head and closed her eyes, her awareness zeroing in on where Knox touched her. Damn if she had any idea of what was going on, but she wouldn’t fight him so long as he kept touching her like that.

Remy’s eyes snapped open as the strokes of Knox’s hand on her ass stopped, and she realized in the same moment he’d stopped walking. She heard a door open ahead of them and stiffened, looking around the hallway and realizing they stood outside the door to Joss’s bedroom. She’d never been inside any of the triplets’ rooms before, mostly because she’d been terrified one of them would find her there and get the wrong idea. Or exactly the right idea, she thought with a grimace.

Nervous for the first time, Remy struggled slightly against the band Knox’s arm created around her thighs. The hand that had moments before been stroking her bottom came down on her tender cheeks, the gesture so fast she didn’t have time to clench against the fire that streaked from her ass straight to her pussy. In that moment, Remy realized the helpless position she was in, and damn, but it aroused her. She was over the shoulder of a pissed-off triplet who seemed content to take his aggression out on her ass. She couldn’t see either other brother now. She was ass-in-the-air over Knox’s shoulder. And with every thought that skipped through her mind, her pussy was creaming.

Remy struggled harder now, forcing Knox to use both hands to hold her steady. Not being sure which triplet had spanked her had Remy squeaking in outrage as she did her best to disengage herself from Knox’s hold.

“Let me go, damn you!”

“Be still!” Drake snapped before a hand came down on her ass once more.

Remy started to have a horrible suspicion. “Wait a minute...you bastards don’t think you get one last roll before I leave, do you?”

Three roars had Remy dropping limp in Knox’s hold. Great. Now she’d pissed them off again.

“As I said downstairs”—Knox sounded as if he spoke from between clenched teeth—“let us fill you in on the rest of that conversation. I’m sure you’ll be sorry you missed it.”

“But first”—Remy recognized Joss’s voice, and he sounded just as mad as Drake—“first let me welcome you to my room. I don’t think you’ve been in here before. Knox, put her down.”

With that command, Knox flipped Remy forwards and onto a padded surface so fast the room spun. She struggled to get her bearings, trying to catch her breath to take in the strange room she found herself in. When she was finally able to see straight, her mouth dropped open in shock. She could feel her eyes get as big as saucers as they darted from the strange paraphernalia on the walls to the massive bed on the opposite side of the room.

“Welcome,” Joss said, gesturing expansively, “to our playroom.”

Chapter 15

Remy thought she must be dreaming. Everywhere she looked she saw sex toys from whips and crops to plugs, from vibrators to dildos. Her gaze flicked back once more to the enormous bed on a raised platform, thinking to herself she’d never seen a bed that big before. It had to be a double king at least.

She felt like Alice down the rabbit hole as her eyes found one surprise after another. There was a padded swing with all sorts of straps and pulleys bolted to the ceiling, and what she thought was a St. Andrew’s cross affixed to the wall. She swallowed around a throat suddenly gone dry. She was in real trouble here.

“This is your playroom? All of you?” Remy had meant her voice to come out mildly curious, vaguely interested. She definitely hadn’t wanted it to sound so breathless and husky. She cleared her throat nervously.

“Yes, well, since we share our subs, it just makes sense to share a playroom.” Joss drawled his response, his words coating Remy in what felt like melted chocolate. He smiled a wolf’s grin at her, moving to sit on a small whipping bench across the room. “You didn’t know about it because we didn’t want you to know. We’ve been very careful about bringing subs home, and frankly, we haven’t brought any home for ages.”

Drake growled at her.“Stop trying to change the subject. Now about this conversation we were having in Monaco...”

Drake’s voice trailed off as Remy stopped focusing on it. Something much more interesting had caught her attention. Something much more interesting, but terrifying.

They’d tied her up.

Or, rather, tied her down, she corrected mentally. They must have done it while she was trying to get her bearings after Knox had flipped her back over his shoulder. She was lying on some sort of table like a massage table with padding that felt like leather. Her hands were bound over her head with enough slack for her to be able to move them side to side, but not enough for her to move them down to her body. Her legs were bound straight down but separately, and she breathed a small sigh of relief they hadn’t tied her spread-eagle.

Her relief was short-lived, though, as Drake reached out and pinched her nipple through the thin fabric of her T-shirt.

Remy squealed, her body arching involuntarily toward the big fingers that held her nipple captive.

“Ooh! Why are you pinching my nipple?”

“You stopped listening,” Knox snarled at her from where he stood above her head. “Now you can be a good girl and listen to Drake, or we can start your punishment now.”

“P–p–punishment?” Remy stuttered, her attention torn between Knox’s words and Drake’s fingers. Her nipple was on fire, and the fire had started to spread.

“You’re going to be punished no matter what,” Knox explained. “Either you can listen to what we have to say then take your punishment like a good girl... Then we can move onto more pleasurable pursuits, or we can start punishing you now, and we won’t stop until you’re ready to listen.”

“I’ll listen.” Remy’s voice came out as a little grunt, her teeth gritted against the painful pleasure that now radiated out from her nipple down to her pussy.

As soon as she promised, Drake released her nipple, and Remy gasped as the blood rushed back into it and made it throb. Drake caressed the sensitive nub once before stepping back to sit on the foot of the bed.

“So tell me, sweetheart…” Joss leaned forward, all traces of his former smile gone now. “What exactly did you ‘overhear’?”

Remy swallowed. It seemed like her only way out of this was to tell the truth, and since it looked like it was going to be a long night regardless, she figured it couldn’t get any worse.

“I heard you say you didn’t want to do this anymore.” Remy bit her lip. It still hurt to think about, although she was quickly getting the impression that something had gone terribly wrong somewhere along the line. “You said you wanted out.”

Unbidden, her eyes welled up and spilled over. She drew a shuddering breath, remembering how much it had hurt to hear them say they didn’t want to be with her.

Remy sniffled, trying to find some way of drying her eyes. With her hands tied over her head she didn’t have much luck. She’d closed her eyes, willing the tears to stop, when she felt a brush against her cheek. She opened her eyes and blinked through the tears, startled to see Drake looking down at her with a tissue in his hand.
