Robin folded her hands on the table and dropped her head. “Do you know how much you destroyed my mother? She gave me up for adoption and I didn’t even know I was adopted until my parents died. After I found out I went in search of my real mother and father.”

Mark pushed back his sleeves and glanced down at his watch. “Okay, what a touching story,” he sighed. “But, I don’t have time to find out how you want it to end, because I’m going to tell you how it is. I’m not your father! I don’t care if we share the same bloodline. You are a stranger to me, do you understand?”

He leaned across the table and looked directly into her eyes. “Never act like we are anything more than employer and employee.”

Robin hardened her heart against the cold man standing in front of her. She didn’t need to be beaten over the head with a dumb stick to get the point. “I’m on the same page as you now, Mr. Kimball.”

Mark smiled warmly at her for using his last name instead of “Dad” or “Father. ““Superb. I’ll send the information you’ll need over later. Just remember that Clinton is a very smart man.”

“I won’t let you down,” she assured him.

Walking past her, he touched her lightly on the shoulder. “Please don’t , Robin.” He continued into the living room and out the front door.

Chapter Nine

Jenisha finished grading the last of the spelling tests. She was so happy how well her students were progressing with the new words. She really wanted her class to be prepared for the third grade. It would be a huge step for most of the girls, but the boys would do fine. The young boys in her class were very adventurous. Nothing seemed to bother them. A smile spread across her face thinking about Clinton as a young boy. His personality probably hadn’t changed much. Clinton sometimes reminded her of an overgrown boy always trying to get his way, but that’s where the similarity ended. Clinton Campbell was a hot, sexy, jaw-dropping, gorgeous man in every sense of the word.

Tapping her pencil on the desk, she thought how it felt to be in his arms two nights ago. The feel of his chest brushing hers had caused her legs to tremble. She had wanted them to make love so bad. Each night since he came to California her dreams had been filled with images of him in her bed. She just didn’t know if she could make the first move. Maybe Clinton was turned off by a woman being overly aggressive in the bedroom, not that she was a wildcat or anything, but she did crave his body more now than before. She giggled at the surprise waiting for Clinton.

She knew that before Clinton went back to Stamford they would be lovers. Clinton treated her like she was a rare, precious stone worth keeping under lock and key. His charming nature had a way of making her forget all her problems. His creative side always amazed her when it came to his work. The way he thought of something in his head and put it on paper blew her away.

Jenisha laid the pen on the table and got up from her seat. Walking around, she turned off the lights until only the moonlight shined into her cozy house. A frown wrinkled her usually smooth forehead. Thoughts of abandonment rushed through her mind.
What if he left her after she told him about her problem
? The last man she told about her secret left her at the altar. Closing her eyes, she could still see that horrible day.

The preacher was halfway into the service when Keith stopped him.
“Is there anyone who thinks these two shouldn’t be married,”
the preacher asked. A spilt second later Keith said
, “I do.”
A hush had fallen over the church. Wedding guests started to whisper behind her, trying to guess what was going on. Keith had lifted her veil. Looking directly into her eyes he said, “Jenisha you are one amazing woman, and one part of me will always care about you. But I don’t love you enough to marry you after what you told me last night. I thought I could live with it, but, sweetheart, I can’t.”

He had kissed her lightly on the cheek and turned to walk out of the church with his family behind him. Jenisha remembered the press speculating about what caused the up and coming rodeo star Keith Rogers to leave his fiancée at the altar. Somehow her secret was never printed in the newspaper. She had always wondered why. Two weeks before she left she had found out that Keith had threatened to sue the press if anything about her ended up in the press. She had come back to California with that peace of mind.

She had hoped the first test results were wrong, so she took another test and the results came back the same. Hearings the news once was bad enough, but hearing it twice just about devastated her. It took a very long time for her to come to terms with knowing she would never have a child grow inside her body. Sometimes when she saw a pregnant woman she would get so choked up. The need to be around small children pushed her into becoming a teacher. The sound of their young voices always kept a smile on her face. Being in class gave her a warm tender feeling in her sad heart. Another gift in her life was her godsons Kevan and Evan. She loved the twins so much.

Sighing, she turned the lights back on heading toward the kitchen in search of food for her growling stomach. She pushed the thought of never having children to the back of her mind. She deciding on a garden salad with ranch dressing and pulled all the necessary items out of the refrigerator. While she cut up tomatoes, the phone rang. Laying the knife on the counter and wiping her hands on her apron, she picked up the cordless phone beside her.

“Hello,” she answered.

“Are you too busy to call your best friend anymore?” True questioned.

Smiling at the humor in True’s voice, Jenisha rested her hip on the counter. “I’ve been very busy with work.”

“Don’t you mean busy working with Clinton?”

“Who told you that?” Jenisha asked, stalling.

“Jenisha, you know Hayward could only keep it in so long before I seduced it out of him,” True remarked.

Jenisha made a face at the phone. “Aren’t you going to give me some advice?”

“No.”

She was concerned. This wasn’t the True she knew and loved. “True, is there something wrong?”

“No, why do you ask that?”

“You sound upset.”

“Well, I’m upset,” True admitted. “My best friend didn’t think she could tell me about her relationship with my brother in-law. Do you know how surprised I was Hayward knew longer than me? I guess we have grown apart.”

“True…. it’s not like that,” Jenisha interrupted.

“Hey…don’t worry about it,” True muttered as one of the twins started crying in the background. “Kevan’s crying. I have to go,” True muttered then ended the phone call.

Jenisha held the phone in her hand with stunned silence. She never thought that not telling True would hurt her feelings. Waiting another fifteen minutes, she called True back. She didn’t want her best friend mad at her. But Hayward answered the phone instead and told her True was upstairs putting the boys to bed. He promised he would tell True she called and then he hung up.

Feeling alone with True upset with her, Jenisha went back to fixing her salad, hoping the food would calm her nerves. Two hours later, the phone rang again. Hoping it was True or Clinton, Jenisha rushed to answer it only to hear Mark’s voice on the other end. She listened while he told her to print out the information he had just emailed to her.

He wanted her to take it to Clinton tomorrow morning so he could look over it. The thought of seeing Clinton tomorrow after four long days had her breath quickening. She wanted to see his powerful, muscular frame. Maybe she would even be able to run her fingers over his ripples of hard muscle. Jenisha bit down on her lip to keep Principal Kimball hearing her moan. Agreeing to his request, Jenisha hung up the phone and dashed to the bathroom because a very cold shower was in her future.

Clinton wasn’t doing much better at his rented house on the other side of town. No matter how much he tried to stop thinking about Jenisha in his bed, he couldn’t. He wanted to give her long, drugging, wet kisses and slowly seduce her into his bed. Just thinking about his tongue making long, sweeping, swirling motions insider her mouth made him ache. Brushing his hair back off his head, Clinton tried to control his breathing, but it wasn’t doing any good. Thoughts of cupping her beautifully formed, naked breasts caused his breath to come in short, harsh gasps. God, his body wanted to join with hers.

The need to make Jenisha his was killing him. He had never felt desire this powerful. Maybe it was more intense because he was in love with his brown-skinned dream woman. If he closed his eyes, he could feel her lips, tongue and teeth all over his muscular torso. Jumping up from the table, he went to the kitchen for a cool drink. He needed something to calm down his raging lust.

Grabbing a beer off the top shelf, Clinton shut the door, resting his bare back on the refrigerator. He took a sip of it with his thoughts of Jenisha still running through his mind. He wanted to see her warm body spread out on his huge bed, begging him to pleasure her.
God.
How he would please those long legs, wide hips, narrow waist and firm, full, heavy breasts.

He would wipe every other lover from her mind. He didn’t like thinking about the other men in her past whispering in her ear while they made love to her delicious body. Pitching the empty bottle in the trash, he went over to the computer. He turned it on and emailed Jenisha a quick note. Laughing out loud at his words, he sent the email hoping she was still up.

Back at her house, Jenisha had her back against the headboard when Clinton’s email appeared in her inbox. Grinning, she clicked on the message.

Curls,

I hope you’re still up wishing I were there with you. Do you know how much I want to be lying beside you in bed? Did you think I forgot you told me you read your email at this time every night in bed? Want to share? How about telling me what you are wearing? Or should I say not wearing? You might be shy. So, I’ll go first. I’m sitting at my desk without a shirt. My jeans are unbuttoned at the top because I had to ease the ache I had for you. Jenisha, I’m aching for you so bad right now darling. Please, tell me when this suffering will end.

Clinton

Jenisha read Clinton’s email again and again, debating on what she should do. What if she told him how much she desired him too? How would it change their relationship? Would he still love and adore her more than ever, or would he take his pleasure and then move on to find his next conquest
.

No, her mind screamed. Clinton wasn’t like that. She knew he loved her and would stay by her side no matter what. Finally realizing what she had to do, she clicked on reply on her email and typed out his letter. She clicked send and waited to see what would happen

Stubborn one,

You knew I would be up craving your body next to mine. How could you make me wait four days until I saw you again? I don’t want to tell you what I’m wearing. I would rather show you. Clinton, do you know what I’m saying? I want us to make love. Please come to me tonight. I’ll be waiting.

Jenisha

Clinton read the message again just to make sure his mind wasn’t playing tricks on him, then he jumped out of the chair so fast that it almost fell over. Dashing into his bedroom, he grabbed his shirt off the bed. Opening his closet, Clinton grabbed an overnight bag and threw in clothes with a fresh toothbrush and underwear. Clinton was out his front door in under two minutes. He tried to settle down his raging lust on the way to Jenisha’s, but the more he thought about her. The hotter and harder his body became.

The usual fast drive to Jenisha’s home seemed longer than ever. It seemed like he got stopped at every stoplight between his house and hers until he finally saw her blue house at the end of Scholar Avenue. The front porch light was and guided his way. He hoped she was ready because he didn’t know how patient he could be. He had dreamt about this for such a long time.

Driving into her driveway, Clinton turned off the car and snatched his bag out of the front seat. Slamming the door, he rushed to her front door. Ringing the doorbell, he waited for her to answer. Slowly, the door opened, showing Jenisha wearing a short white teddy with a matching sheer jacket. Her curls were loose, falling down her back. “Damn,” Clinton whispered.

Pushing the door open even wider with the palm of his hand, he entered her home, eager to show her what a skillful lover he was. Kicking the door shut with his foot, Clinton pulled Jenisha into his arms with his free hand. As all her luscious curves pressed against the hardness of his chest, he licked the sensitive spot below her right ear.

“Baby, I hope you’re ready. I’ve been hungry for you too long.” Jenisha truly didn’t know how long he had wanted this moment to come true. He hoped he made it every thing she craved and move.

“I have dreamt about this too,” Jenisha admitted by his ear.

The confession sent a rush of desire racing through his body that ended in the front of his pants, making his erection thicker. He was surprised that he hadn’t burst through his zipper already, hard as he was.

Dropping his bag on the floor, he cupped her firm bottom in his hands. “Wrap your legs around my waist,” he whispered against her lips. He smiled when Jenisha slowly complied and wrapped her mile-long legs around him. The movement pressed him directly against her moist heat, and he fought the need to shed the necessary clothes and take her right there.

Instead, he captured her mouth with a starving urgency, thrusting his tongue in the inside of her mouth. He heard Jenisha’s moans of approval as she wrapped her hands around the back of his head and brushed her lower body over his.

They stood locked in the embrace for a while, allowing him to feed from the sweetness of her mouth. Pulling his lips from hers, Clinton fought for his breath with quick and shallow gasps. “Baby, where in the hell is your bedroom?”

“Down the hall and it’s the first door on the right,” she moaned, kissing his neck.

Flipping Jenisha in his arms, he carried her down the short hallway to her door. He eased the door open with his foot then kicked it shut after they got inside. Walking to the bed, he laid Jenisha in the middle and stood in front of her. He pulled his shirt over his head and tossing it to the floor behind them.

Jenisha’s russet eyes lit up with excitement as she knelt in the middle of the bed. The muscles in his stomach clenched as one of her slender hands reached out and traced them with her fingers.
