She grinned, reaching out to stroke his jaw.
“Well, you succeeded. I love it.”

Grabbing the other glass of wine, he held it up and said,
“Happy New Year, Cat.”

Clinking her glass to his, she said,
“Happy New Year, Luke. Thanks for this.” She spread her arm out to indicate the room.

He leaned forward and kissed her gently.
“Thank you,” he murmured against her lips.

She pulled back.
“Thank me for what?”

His gaze dropped to her bare breasts.
“For making such a memorable impression on me.”

Laughing, they vowed to make more toasts later. But for now, they had ten long years to make up for.
