“No,” she answered honestly. She was too happy to be nervous. After all, the man of her dreams waited one floor below.

“Well, you will be when you step off that bottom stair. I swear it looks like the whole town is in Mama Odie’s parlor. How they managed to get that many chairs in there is still a mystery to me.”

Allie turned a patient smile on her handsome brother and patted his hand. He didn’t understand. A crowd ten times the size of the one gathered below would have no influence on her at all. When she stepped off that bottom stair, there was only one face, one set of dark brown eyes in the whole room that would hold her attention. The most handsome man in the room.

In the world,
she amended as she stepped off the last stair and her eyes met Logan’s. Her heart thumped in her chest like a kettle drum as Matt escorted her down the aisle, so loud she was surprised people couldn’t hear it over the music.

“Who gives this woman in holy matrimony?” Pastor Gene asked.

“I do,” Matt answered.

And then Logan was taking her hand, drawing her close beside him, sliding a ring on her finger and vowing to love and honor her for the rest of their days together.

With Logan by her side it didn’t matter what the odds were. She’d found the happy ever after she’d spent her entire adult life searching for. Right here in her hometown, where it had been waiting for her all along.

And all she’d had to do to find it was take a chance.

Acknowledgments

No book is ever written in a vacuum and the Chance, Colorado Series is no exception.

Special thanks go out to my wonderful friend,
Elaine Levine
. Without her encouragement and assistance, this book might never have seen the light of day. This talented author took time out from her own writing to mentor me through the process of publishing this story and for that, I will always be grateful.
