“Well, he doesn’t seem like a monster to me, and he sure didn’t
behave
like one with me, either. In fact, he was the perfect gentleman.” It killed me to lie to Paulie, but I had to convince him I was with Sebastiano because I
wanted
to be with him. It wouldn’t be a total lie, because I
was
extremely attracted to him and I wanted him. That was all I could think about.

“You’ve got no idea, Sierra. I’ve seen him do things. Unthinkable things you’d never imagine another human being capable of doing.”

“What things? What are you talking about, Paulie? If you’re referring to things that happen in the movie,
The Godfather
, it’s all fiction.” I laughed, but Paulie didn’t laugh with me; he remained deathly silent.

“I am dead-set serious, Sis. He’s mafia, big-time mafia. His family history descends from the Sicilian mafia. It’s the worst kind. He
is
the Godfather,” Paulie emphasised. “He ordered his men to cut my fucking finger off, for fuck’s sake! I’ve witnessed them do worse. Much, much worse. Fucking hell, I’m lucky it was only my finger that was severed and not another part of my body.”

“What? You can’t be serious. I must admit, Sebastiano can be a touch intimidating, but—”

“A touch?” Paulie laughed hysterically. “So, what did you discuss with him? Please, I can’t
wait
to hear what deal
Don
Sebastiano offered you to save my arse.”

“It doesn’t matter, Paulie; all that matters is you’re alive. I don’t want to hear what you have to say about Sebastiano.” I was becoming angry with Paulie.
I know what The Don is like and what he does; I’m not that naïve. But do I want to hear it? No, I don’t.
I would love to believe there was no way Sebstiano could be like that. All I had to do was block it all out and everything would be fine.

“So, you think I’m lying because he was so
nice
to you,” Paulie said sarcastically. “Where the fuck are you anyway, Sierra?” Paulie questioned me. “Are you at his mansion now? Has he fucked you yet? I bet you let him fuck you already, didn’t you, Sis?” His continuous questioning and interrogations were driving me crazy.

“No, I…I…I just—”

“Yeah, you did,” he cut me off. “I can tell because you’re starting to stutter. You agreed to be his whore, didn’t you? Didn’t you, Sierra?” Paulie screamed at me, his voice shrilling through the phone.

I was so overwhelmed and torn with emotion and…and…confusion. Yes, I was confused. Confused about the attraction I had for Sebastiano and confused as to how far I was willing to go in my desperate need to help my brother. But I was by no means a whore, and his accusation pissed me right off. I lost it.

Gripping the phone in anger and annoyance, I screamed back at Paulie, “Stop! Stop! Stop! Please, Paulie, I am not a
whore
! I—”

Suddenly, the phone ripped from my hands, by none other than Sebastiano. He looked ferocious.

SEBASTIANO

“Give me that fucking phone,” I demanded.

I was already fucked off after having dealt with Teresa, who continued to grovel for money the whole time Guido was dragging her outside. That bitch never gave up. Never. I managed to make a few business calls to the clubs and set up a meeting with my men for later that afternoon. Until I heard Sierra shouting.

“Who the hell is this calling my fucking woman a whore?” I yelled in rage down the receiver, not caring that Sierra looked shit-scared of me. “Oh, so it’s you, Paulie. You better have a damn good reason for upsetting your sister.”

I looked over at Sierra and motioned for her to stand by my side. God knows what the stupid little fucker had told her about me. She was literally shaking in her three-inch heels. I listened to Paulie rambling on about me hurting his sister, but my mind was far more focussed on Sierra. I wrapped my arm around her waist, my hand venturing down to her gorgeous peach-shaped arse, stroking and squeezing it. I heard her swift intake of breath and I knew she was beginning to relax against me. Knowing she had nothing on underneath that skirt was giving me a major hard-on.

“Don’t touch my sister. Don’t hurt my sister.”

“Are you finished begging yet, you little shit? You
stole
from me, Paulie, and you know the deal. You know exactly what I do to people who take things from me without asking for permission, don’t you?” I never even gave Paulie the time to answer my question.

“Sierra is now mine. Mine! Do you hear me, punk? I can do whatever I want with her. I own her now, which means I can touch her; I can taste her and I can fuck her whenever and however I want, and there is nothing you can do about it.”

The whole time I was talking to him, I was making sure Sierra knew she was mine. My hand, still planted firmly on her sexy arse, moved languorously up and down her body, brushing the sides of her breasts and back down to that perfect arse again. Paulie was one tough young kid. Smart fucker, too. He wasn’t scared of me one bit, but I was going to change all that.

“The second you took that money you signed her over to me. Now, get that pretty-boy face over here quick smart so I can talk to you face to face. You don’t have any more chances. There are things we need to discuss.” I paused and waited for his response, but it didn’t come. “And one last thing, if you fucking accuse your sister of being a whore again, I will end you.”

I thrust the phone back into Sierra’s hands. “Here. Finish talking to your beloved little brother. He so much as puts a foot out of place again, I’ll be putting him to the ground.” Sierra flinched.
Fuck me and my fucking Sicilian temper; now I’ve gone and scared her again.

“Say goodbye,” I reminded her, trying to sound somewhat calmer and control my raging temper. She stared at me with forlorn eyes, searching my face for some kind of answer. Fuck, I had no idea what to do with a woman who looked at me with those desperate eyes. “It’s okay, sweetness,” I soothed her, trailing soft kisses across her cheeks and whispering in her ear, “I would never hurt you. I’ll fuck you, yeah, but never will I hurt you, baby.
Never
.”

She nodded and spoke to her brother, “Paulie, you still there?” She paused, and then turned to look up at me. “See, I told you he’s nice to me. You have nothing to worry about, Paulie, honest. I can look after myself. I’m a big girl. I know what I’m doing and I want to do this.”

I raised my eyebrows at her.
So, she wants to do this, does she? Well, she better get ready for a wild ride with the Italian Stallion.

CHAPTER NINE

SIERRA

“Daddy, I’m back!” I heard a female voice calling out loudly across the other side of the house, breaking the contact between Sebastiano and myself. And Amen to that because I sure as hell wasn’t ready to explain what I meant by ‘I want to do this’
when I admitted it to Paulie on the phone.

I honestly couldn’t believe the amount of people who just happened to drop by un-announced in this place, and I had only been here a few hours. It was ridiculous. At least it was his daughter this time and no ex-wife or floozy. Well, I sure hoped it was his daughter; I mean, who else would call Sebastiano
Daddy
?

“Lorena, we’re in the lounge,” Sebastiano called out to her.

The most gorgeous blonde woman entered the room, ran up to Sebastiano and hugged him, kissing him on both cheeks and squeezing them affectionately. “Hi, Daddy. Riccardo said you wanted me to meet a friend of yours and she’s in desperate need of a makeover.”

You’ve got to be kidding me - a makeover? A fucking makeover?
What exactly did Riccardo and Sebastiano tell her, that I was some sort of a frump and was in desperate need of a fashion fix?

“What the hell, Sebastiano? Do I look like I need a fucking makeover?” I was so angry.
All that talk before about how beautiful I am and how he wanted to fuck me! And now he tells his daughter I need a makeover. Is this a goddamn joke? What an arsehole!

“Relax, sweetness. I never said you needed a makeover. That’s just Lorena jumping to conclusions. Isn’t that right,
bella mia
?” he reprimanded his daughter. “You must have misunderstood what Riccardo said. I told him Sierra needed to go on a shopping spree.”

His daughter gave me an icy stare, giving me the once over and all but rolled her eyes at me.
Stupid bitch. Great and I’ve got to go shopping with her. Now, won’t that be fun.
My outburst changed the entire atmosphere in the room. Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut. I’d gone and put his daughter’s nose out of joint. She was a stunner, with her long blonde locks perfectly styled and her figure, unlike mine, which epitomised the perfect hourglass. Lorena was also very well endowed in all the right places. Her hazel brown eyes were leering at me.

“So, your name is Sierra, is it?” Lorena turned to her father and asked, “Is she your latest squeeze? You never bring them into the mansion, and now you want me to take her shopping?”

“That’s enough, Lorena,” Sebastiano reprimanded her. “You will respect Sierra. She will be living here in the mansion, and I expect you to be nothing but civil and courteous to her,
mi capice
?”

“Yes, I understand,” she agreed with a patronising tone. Her arms folded and her foot tapping were all the body language I needed to see her blatant disapproval of me and that I’d be living under the same roof as her.

What a little snob she was. She obviously thought I was here voluntarily. Well, if she only knew. Looking back on the day’s events, I couldn’t believe how my life had changed in the matter of a few short hours. To say my life was all rosy beforehand would be a blatant lie, but I’d signed a deal with the devil. I was about to enter a life which was completely different to the one I had lived. A life so chilling it would be hard for me to ever escape it, even if I wanted to.

“Good, now we’ve settled that little disagreement, I’ll get one of the bodyguards to take you shopping. I need Riccardo here for a meeting.”

“Oh, but Daddy, I
need
Riccardo to come…” Lorena whined in her
please, Daddy
voice.

Silenzio,
Lorena. I said no and that is final.” Sebastiano pulled out his wallet and thrust a wad of money into Lorena’s hands and her face instantly changed. Gone was her childish pouting and it was replaced with an award-winning look of pure contentment. Her eyes sought mine and instead of turning her nose up at me like I expected her to, she smiled. Lorena Morassi genuinely
smiled
at me.

Well, what do you know? You show the Mafia Princess some cash and voila, she’s a reformed woman. I wonder how long this will last.

“Sweetness,” Sebastiano said as he walked over to me, stroking his finger down my cheek. My heart quickened at his touch and every time he called me that, I felt a quiver in my belly.
He sounds so sweet, but I know behind that sweetness there is someone who can be dark and sinister.
“I want you to buy anything you want - anything. Money is no object.” He turned to Lorena. “Make sure you stick with the bodyguard, Lorena. I don’t want anything to happen to either of you.”

“Oh, Daddy, don’t be ridiculous. I know the rules and I promise I’ll take good care of Sierra.”
Yeah, my arse she’d take good care of me.

Sebastiano wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me in tightly against his chest. He caught me by surprise and I stumbled, grabbing onto his impressive biceps. Shit, he was huge. I could feel every ripple of muscle through his shirt, and I felt so tiny in his embrace. “I’ll be back before dinner, Sierra. I’ll see you then,
naked, remember
?” he whispered the last part, so only I could hear. “I’ll be waiting for you.” Ever so gently, he brushed his lips against mine, running his tongue over my bottom lip before pulling me in for a deep, wet kiss.
He walked away, slamming the door shut without a backward glance. Only then did I realise I was still holding my breath.

***

With her hands on her hips, Lorena spun around and warned me, “Do
not
think you can worm your way in here and take over. I am the only woman in this house and that is how it’s going to stay. I’ve got my father wrapped around my little finger,” she smirked. “As long as you remember that, we will get on just fine.”

As much as I wanted to tell the spoilt little bitch to fuck off, I didn’t. No way did I want to argue with her. “Yes, Lorena,” I answered calmly. “I know you come first; you
are
his daughter, after all. I’m just a…um…his…um— ”

“Mistress?” she suggested.

“I suppose,” I responded in a quiet voice, thankful she didn’t call me his whore.
I think I’ve been called that one too many times today already.

“Mmm…you don’t sound too sure of that,” she questioned. “Can I tell you something, but you’ve got to promise not to tell my father I told you?

“Sure, go ahead,” I said. So far, this day had been full of surprises. I was sure what she had to tell me wouldn’t shock me.

“First of all, you must be fully aware of who my father is and what his business entails, right?”

“Yes, I am, but—”

“Shut up and let me finish,” she cut me off very quickly. “So, you have no qualms about living here and being witness to all sorts of…how can I phrase it? Witness to my father’s business dealings? Or
shenanigans
would be a better word to use.”
I nodded in agreement. “I’ve told you I understand this life; I just need time to get used to it, that’s all.”

“Honey, you will never get used to this life. You just learn to live with it. It won’t take long, trust me. The other thing I had to tell you was my father has never had a mistress before. And he sure as hell has never allowed any woman to sleep over.”

“What? You’ve got to be kidding me. No way! I mean, when I arrived, I walked in on him and some woman in his office…” I stopped myself. Why was I divulging information to his daughter?
Shit, I better keep my mouth shut. I’ll never learn.
