Part Two:
Life of a Dopeman’s Wife
UPGRADED
Chapter Seventeen
Nautica walked out onto the balcony of the plush hotel and watched the sun come up on Paris’s beautiful skyline. The soft silk robe hugged her body, displaying all of her perfections, and she loved the way the soothing fabric felt against her skin. She took a deep breath, as the warmth of the rising sun graced her face. Tical and her had been in the France for the past six days, and she was having the best time of her life.
I am finally happy.
She ran her fingers through her hair. She wiped the sleep out of her eye and yawned, closing her eyes and enjoying the glamorous life.
As she stretched out her arms, she glanced at the huge rock on her finger that Tical had purchased for her just days before. He, without hesitation, dropped $5,200 on it when she mentioned that she fancied it. She wore it on her index finger and hoped that one day Tical would put one on her ring finger and make her his forever.
She had been inseparable with Tical for the past year. He had shown her how a woman was supposed to be treated.
Nautica was going into her second season at
The Wire
, and Tical had decided to take her on a trip before her hectic schedule began. She had done very well with the show and had gotten a bigger role because of her superb performance in the previous season. Everything was going right for her, and she was finally at peace. She left the hood and never looked back.
She had never mentioned her grimy past and planned on never telling him about her old lifestyle. She’d always thought,
What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him
, when thinking about her new image. Plus, Tical would always applaud her for being classy and would tell her he would never turn a ho into a housewife. He didn’t approve of gold diggers and hot girls. Not wanting any connections to her old life whatsoever, she went as far as telling him that she was from Detroit, rather than Flint, which was only an hour away.
As Nautica was enjoying the incredible outlook, she was startled by a hand resting on her shoulder. She turned around and saw Tical’s lean naked body before her.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” he said, referring to the sunrise.
“Yeah, it is.” Nautica ran her hand over Tical’s washboard abdominal. Her hand drifted down to his manhood, and she began to fondle him. They’d made love most of the night, and Tical’s curve had her wanting more. “I want some more of ‘bo,’” she said, referring to the nickname she’d given his penis.
“Is that right?” Tical hugged her and began stroking her back.
“Yeah, that’s right.” Nautica kissed his chest, while holding bo in her hands. She stroked him until he became fully erect.
Tical turned Nautica around and ripped off her robe. He was aggressive, but just enough not to hurt her.
The morning air stiffened Nautica’s nipples as Tical licked on the nape of her neck, sending tingles down her back. He slowly began to walk forward until Nautica reached the ledge.
She placed her hands on the rails, and Tical licked his fingertips and slid them down her ass crack and into her warm wound. She sucked her teeth in pleasure as Tical’s two fingers entered her.
Tical stepped back and bent Nautica over. He grabbed bo and slid right into her from behind. He took deep strokes, his wet thumb on her butt hole, and worked the middle as Nautica’s behind bounced on his pelvis. Nautica sucked her own finger and moaned in almost a melodic tune as they became one.
After getting Nautica on the verge of an orgasm, Tical stopped and slid out of her. Bo’s curve was at its fullest potential, and the sight stimulated Nautica even more. He walked over to the bed and lay flat on his back, and bo stood tall, like a leaning tower.
Nautica didn’t waste any time hopping on top of him and guiding herself back on his pipe. She laid her chest flat on his and began to move her body in a slow wave.
Nautica’s juices began to trickle down Tical’s thighs as he gently palmed her buttocks, occasionally smacking it to let her know she was giving an A-1 performance.
Nautica thought about how much Tical had changed her life for the better. She didn’t want or need for anything. She was making love to a powerful, loving man who would give her the world. “I love you, Tical,” she whispered, tears flowing from her eyes onto Tical’s cheek.
“I love you too. I love you so much, baby.” Then he released himself inside his soul mate.
Nautica lay in Tical’s arms as they rubbed each other, her body still tingling from the show Tical had just given her. “I don’t want to leave Paris,” she said, poking her lips.
“We’ll come back in a couple of months.” Tical wanted to stay too, but he had to return home to meet with Millie the next day, which was Friday.
“Yeah, right. We aren’t going to have time. You are so busy, and I have the show and all.”
“Lots of things are about to change. I am about to be done with the game, and I’ll be focusing on different business ventures. And you.”
“Are you serious?”
“Yeah, I’m dead serious. I just closed a deal for a club in downtown B-more. I think I’ma do that for a minute, you know. I’ma call it Eight One Four.”
“Yeah, right!’ Nautica sat up with a big smile. That was her birthdate.
“For real. Actually the grand opening is in two weeks. I’m hoping to focus on more business moves like that. The dope game isn’t built for longevity. I’ve been eating in the streets for as long as I remember, and it’s time for me to evolve. I’m going to pass the torch and go legit.”
“What about Gunplay and Millie? What do they have to say about it? Are they giving it up too?”
Tical pinched Nautica’s nose, impressed by her observation. He thought it was cute that she was being curious, but little did he know Nautica had dated, fucked, and played with hustlers all her life and wasn’t green to the streets. “What you know about the streets?”
Nautica knew she’d said too much. “I’m just saying . . .”
“Not that you care, but I’m going to hand over the operation to them. I’m not going to stop their flow just because I decided to get out. I’ma let them eat by introducing them to my plug, and I’m going to put a strong team around them. They kept me on point and safe for all these years. Now I gotta make sure they have the same.”
Nautica didn’t say anything else. She was ready for him to get out the game so they could start their life together without distraction.
CLUB 8-1-4
Chapter Eighteen
It was a hot Saturday night, and the air was just right for the official opening of Club 8-1-4. Tical invited all of his acquaintances from all regions of the country to come celebrate with him, and to offer them a position in Baltimore’s drug trade. He was assembling a dominant squad for Millie and Gunplay to reign supreme.
Tical and Millie stood at the top of the balcony overlooking the mansion-style two-story club. The shiny marble floors and strobe lights gave the club a look of perfection, and the sounds of smooth R and B greeted the guests as they came in.
Tical thought about Nautica. She’d stayed home, not wanting to be in the spotlight. Which was one of the reasons he loved her so much. She wasn’t a center-of-attention type person.
“This bitch getting packed already,” Millie said, leaning on the rails, her back to the crowd. She’d decided to dress up for the occasion and wore a white dress that hugged her slim frame and displayed her small, plump behind. It was rare for her to even wear a dress.
“Yeah. It’s a nice turnout.” Tical raised his glass to the rapper on stage.
“Is that Jay?” Millie asked, referring to the international rap star from out of Brooklyn. His swagger kind of reminded her of Tical’s.
Tical nodded his head modestly.
Millie smiled. Tical never ceased to amaze her. “How do you know him?”
Tical thought about the time he used to move bricks of cocaine and bundles of heroin back and forth from B-more to New York. “I used to handle business with him back in the day.” He slipped one hand into his pocket and bobbed his head to the music.
“Handle business, huh?” Millie nodded knowingly.
That particular night was a special one. It was the anniversary date of the day that Tical changed Millie’s life when he picked her up from the truck stop. Tical didn’t keep up with the date, but Millie did.
Tical wore a three-piece suit to the event, but had his jacket off, only displaying his well-tailored shirt and vest. His necktie was loose, and he looked comfortable but debonair. He always looked at her like a younger sister, but Millie wanted him to look at her the same way he did Nautica. Millie couldn’t help but to stare at the man before her.
Tical took a sip of his drink and matched Millie’s stare. He placed his hand on her face and smirked.
Millie closed her eyes and moved her cheek against his warm as it rested gently on her. “Tical, I love you,” she said, opening her eyes. When Tical leaned in to kiss her, her heart fluttered. The day she’d been waiting on for years had finally arrived. She closed her eyes and puckered her lips.
“I love you too, baby sis.” Tical pecked her on the forehead and patted her back.
Millie was disappointed and embarrassed. She thought her dreams were coming true.
Tical saw Gunplay on the dance floor, a female grinding on him. He waved for him to come up the stairs. “Yo’, Millie, I have to talk to you and Gunplay in my office. I’ll be waiting in there.” He smiled and pinched her cheek. “You’re growing up,” he said, looking her up and down. He thought she looked so sexy.
Millie crossed her arms and gave him a fake smile. As Tical disappeared into his office, she took a deep breath, waiting for Gunplay to come join her.
Nautica walked around her home she shared with Tical in a comfortable BCBG sweat suit, her hair pulled back and wrapped with a rubber band. She loved the way the plush carpet felt between her toes. She had convinced Tical to turn Millie’s room into a study, since she wasn’t using the room, so she’d have a comfortable place in the house to read and act out her lines for the show. She was preparing to move Millie’s stuff to the garage.
Actually, Nautica was happy to get Millie’s things out
her
house.
I don’t really care for her ass anyway.
She took Millie’s pictures off the wall and placed them inside a big cardboard box. Millie wasn’t rude to Nautica over the past year, but it was obvious she didn’t like that Tical and her were in a serious relationship. I don’t know what her problem is. I ain’t did shit to the bitch. She walk around her with her nose all turned up and shit. I know when a bitch trying to act funny. Shit, I ain’t the one.”
After two hours of hard work, Nautica fanned herself from all the moving and organizing. She’d made at least eight trips to the garage. She wanted to keep busy while Tical was hosting his grand opening party at his new club. She wanted to go so bad, but with the picture she’d painted of herself for Tical, there was no turning back. Tical always told her how much he couldn’t stand sheisty females, and would always praise her for her nobility and her sophistication. He really believed she didn’t like to party, was green to the streets, and had only had sex with two other men her whole entire life. All big lies.
Will he look at me differently if I tell him about my past? Will he still love a liar and a thief?
She sat on the bed.
In the beginning Nautica had her own money and didn’t need a nigga for anything, but little did Tical know, she was working with another hustler’s blood money. Nautica nearly ran through all of the money she’d stolen from Zion within the first three months, to keep up with Tical’s lifestyle, but eventually they got close and all of her worries were over. The money she made from the show was chump change, compared to the stacks Tical gave her. Tical made her wifey and took care of her. He used to joke with her and say, “Just sit back and look pretty.” And actually that was all she had to do.
Tical sat in his oversized executive chair and swirled back and forth in his luxury office with a glass front overlooking the club. He also had security monitors built into his desk, so he could see what was going on in and out of the club. He walked over to the marble table in the rear of his office and pushed a button that prompted a mini-bar to rise from the marble counter.
One of the out-of-town soldiers looked on in amazement. “That’s like some James Bond shit.”
Tical smirked as he poured himself a glass of cognac over ice. He unbuttoned his diamond cufflinks and slightly rolled up his sleeves before grabbing the glass and taking a sip. He looked at the two men that sat in front of his desk, both from different regions of the country, and both deadly killers. He’d called on them to assist Millie and Gunplay with the “new era” in Baltimore. He leaned against the counter, waiting for Millie and Gunplay to join the meeting.
Though the club area was distant, Tical could feel the bass pumping. “I gotta get this office soundproofed,” he said, bobbing his head to Jay’s new song that was blasting.
“Tical, it’s been a long time. I think the last time I saw you was at Zion’s funeral,” the man said.
“Yeah, Loon, it’s been a while.” Tical walked to his desk and leaned on the edge of it, right in front of them. “How you been?”
“I’m good. Flint dry as hell right now, though. Ain’t shit moving that way.” Loon rubbed his hands together, still excited about the phone call he’d received from Tical a couple weeks back.
“Well, that’s news of old. I brought you here to get money. I owe that much to my man Zion.”
“Yeah, Zion thought highly of you,” Loon said, rubbing the scraggly beard he’d grown.
“Yeah, I tend to think about him from time to time. We did good business together.”
Tical used to supply Zion. He remembered Zion talking about Loon’s loyalty and instantly thought about him when he began assembling his new team.
Church, the other guy in the room, was the son of Black Pete, a Haitian drug boss out of Miami who Tical did a two-year stretch with in Attica. Tical noticed how closely he resembled his father. Black Pete was connected to the Black Zulu Gang, a ruthless cartel that originated from Haiti. Fifteen years Tical’s senior, Black taught him a lot about the drug game throughout his bid. Black Pete and Tical kept in touch, and Black Pete told Tical his young son was getting wild in Miami and that the police was on him for all the bodies he’d caught over the past two summers. Tical told him he would let him know if ever he had room for Church to come and join his squad in B-more.
As Millie and Gunplay walked in, Tical went to sit behind his desk. “Have a seat,” he told them.
Millie looked at the two guys in the room and wondered what was going on. “Who is these niggas?” She pointed at both of them.
Church said, “Who the fuck you talking to?”
“Nigga, you better hold ya mu’fuckin’ horses.” Gunplay ice-grilled both guys.
“Play nice.” Tical chuckled. “I see you guys all get along. Millie, Gunplay, I want you to meet Loon and Church.” Tical waved his hand toward the two. “Church is from Miami, and I am real tight with his old man. Gunplay, you remember Black Pete? This is his son.”
“Oh, yeah! Pete’s good people.”
“And this is Loon. He is a shooter, understand? This was my man’s Zion little man. I want y’all to embrace them, because they’ll be sticking around for a minute.”
Gunplay turned up his nose at Loon. Zion was a stickup kid. And Gunplay never cared too much for him, because he hated thieves. But Gunplay knew Zion and Tical used to be tight, so out of respect, he was going to be cordial. “What up, fam?”
Loon threw up his head in greeting.
Millie stared at the two guys. “Tical, what do we need these niggas for? I mean, we got the streets on lock right now. Plus, I don’t even know these mu’fuckas.”
“Calm down, Millie. It’s time for you to get out the streets and start running this operation. If you’re trying to be boss, you can’t do what you used to do. You can’t get your hands dirty and be in the trap like you used to be. It’s time to step up your game and become untouchable. These two soldiers are going to allow you to do that. They’re going to be your face, sort of like spokespersons. You get it?”
Millie stared at Loon and was totally disgusted by his appearance. His pasty, light skin, reddish hair, and freckles gave him a deranged look, and Church, five foot six and black as tar, wasn’t that impressive either. But, she knew Tical was trying to make sure the transition was smooth, so she was going to embrace them.
