“
Of course Prime 2 and I, as well
as all my predecessors, know about these movements, including the
Guardians and their belief that perfection has been
achieved.”
“
Then if you do not mind me asking Zaccai, why
allow this?”
“
Balance.”
Zaccai transmitted a simple thought to Elymas,
“Bring him in please.”
Elymas entered Zaccai’s reflection room while
escorting Melchior.
“
Please Melchior, have a seat,”
said Zaccai.
Melchior walked freely to the unoccupied chair and
sat while giving a polite nod to Izri.
“
I take it Elymas you have filled in Melchior
on our known observations as I have with Izri?”
“
Yes, Zaccai.”
“
Good, then I do not have to repeat
myself.”
Melchior looked up and noticed
the infinity symbol, the backbone to everyone’s belief structure,
was only floating and not rotating. This upset Melchior, but he
decided to keep his feelings silent, at least for the time
being.
“
Well, gentlemen, I brought you
both here because as you well know we have a civil war brewing, but
fortunately we encountered not one, but two present anomalies. One
we address as EC6L163O7074, also known as Spencer Cade, and second
his offspring Jade.”
Zaccai repositioned behind the
desk and sat down. Elymas informed Zaccai he was going to take care
of the other matter. Zaccai in return gave him a simple
nod.
Melchior finally spoke and asked Zaccai how much he
knew. Zaccai responded back, “More than you think. You see
Melchior, we have learned about your indiscretions regarding
Corinth and how you and Willow concluded her life.”
Melchior sat there in silence.
“
The one thing I find highly disturbing, more
so than Corinth’s death, is your desire to send EC6L163O7074 back
to Earth in order to act as a trigger for an epidemic of massive
proportions.”
Melchior stared directly into Zaccai’s eyes with
conviction and said, “Zaccai, I truly felt it was the best solution
to our current problem and believed it would have stopped any
chance of a civil war between our people.”
“
I am well aware of what your intent was and
as honorable as you may have thought it to be, you failed to take
in other considerations.”
“
I do not understand,” replied
Melchior.
Zaccai turned his chair so he could face Melchior
directly. “Are you aware there are two copies of EC6L163O7074’s
program running on Earth right now?”
With a look of surprise Melchior responded, “No, I
only know of the one the council voted to send back.”
Zaccai turned his chair and now
was facing Izri directly, “Izri, are you aware if your version of
EC6L163O7074 makes physical contact with any of the humanoid
Earthlings infected with the Weed Virus, this will trigger the
epidemic Melchior was planning prematurely? This will not only wipe
out the humanoid population of Earth, but will also send a massive
surge of uploads to Prime 2, resulting in its demise.”
Izri registered what Zaccai was
saying and replied, “I had no idea Zaccai. If I knew I never would
have sent Spencer to Australia.”
Melchior looked over towards
Zaccai with confusion, “How can EC6L163O7074 be heading to
Australia if he is just an infant living with a poor family?”
Melchior paused for a moment and followed up with, “You download
EC6L163O7074 into an adult humanoid body and somehow directed him
to travel to Australia?”
Izri looked over at Melchior with fury in his eyes,
“How was I supposed to know you infected his program with some type
of trigger virus? You fool!”
“
How dare you call me a fool, you are the one
who will be sending the Earth civilization to its knees
prematurely,” replied Melchior with equal fury.
Zaccai stood up and said quietly, “Gentleman this
arguing will stop now.”
Both Izri and Melchior regained their composure and
directed their attention back to Zaccai.
“
This was why I placed a solar freeze on
Earth.”
Izri interrupted, “Wonderful, I will give you the
coordinates of where my team is and we will remove Spencer
immediately.”
Zaccai looked towards the stagnant infinity symbol
and said, “I wish it was that easy.”
“
I am sorry, I do not
understand,” replied Izri.
“
The adult version of
EC6L163O7074 has gone missing and we do not know where he is at
this moment, or do we?” as Zaccai directed his attention towards
Melchior.
Mileva appeared behind Jade as
she continued to study the stone. “I see you found it,” said Mileva
as Jade jumped back, realizing she was no longer
transparent.
“
You can see me?” asked Jade.
“
Of course I can. What makes you think
otherwise?”
Jade concluded the stone must be giving off some
type of interference, which in return was disrupting her ability to
stay transparent so she answered, “I don’t know.”
Mileva laughed and informed her she was well aware
of transparent technology and had been monitoring her movements
ever since Izri gave her the glasses.
“
So what do you want?” asked Jade.
“
I want to know what secrets are
hidden in the stone you are handling, so come with me and we can
discuss this matter in private.” conveyed Mileva.
Before Jade could respond, Elymas walked up to
Mileva and said, “Well I am sorry to disappoint you, but your
curiosity will have to wait. Jade and the stone are both needed in
Zaccai’s reflection room now.”
“
I see, may I accompany you?” inquired Mileva
politely.
“
No, but do not fret, your
faction will be represented. Izri is currently with
Zaccai.”
Mileva refused to admit she was
part of some underground movement and replied with caution, “I do
not understand what you are implying, so I will be going now. Give
my pleasantries to Zaccai.”
“
Sure,” smiled Elymas.
Before Jade could even protest about leaving with
Elymas they were streamed to Zaccai’s reflection room, as Mileva
walked away infuriated.
After Elymas and Jade
materialized, with the stone, Zaccai gave formal introductions and
assured Jade that she and Reece were going to be perfectly fine.
Zaccai explained that Reece had been told of her whereabouts and he
hoped to have them both reunited and back on Earth within a day.
When Jade noticed Izri sitting nearby this gave her a little bit
more comfort.
“
So now what?” asked Jade in a surprisingly
careless tone.
“
I like your attitude.
Someone who is willing to move forward without a lot of questions
and drama,” responded Zaccai with a smile. “I notice in your hands
you have
The Stone of
Tureis
and the center star is lit,
undoubtedly making you the chosen one. Do you know what that stone
does?”
“
I have some idea, but not entirely,” said
Jade causally.
“
It holds important information and only one
humanoid can extract it, that humanoid being you.”
“
That’s what I was told,” uttered Jade as she
continued to absorb her new surroundings.
“
Elymas please inform Prime
2 the lock down can be lifted and pass this news to the others who
are in
The
Ark
. Also send out a public announcement
advising our citizens of a formal address sometime
tomorrow.”
“
Will do.” Before Elymas
departed the reflection room, he communicated with Zaccai
telepathically that Prime 2 had confirmed the data in Jade’s mind
as
Project
Illuminate.
“
I am glad to hear this, we most
now allow the events to play out,” responded Zaccai telepathically.
He then continued verbally, “I will now be streaming Jade, Izri,
Melchior, and myself to Mana-dorn Mountain. We will be out of
communication for at least a quarter of a spin.”
“
I think this is a wise idea.
Have a safe journey,” advised Elymas verbally as he turned and
left.
Jade looked over at Zaccai and asked, “How long is a
quarter of a spin?”
“
Ah yes, you are not familiar
with how we measure time. It takes our planet thirty-two Earth
hours in order for it to make a complete rotation around itself. So
to translate, a quarter of a spin is approximately eight
hours.”
“
Well couldn’t you have just said eight
hours?”
Zaccai laughed, “I suppose, now
let us go. The sooner we complete this journey, the sooner we can
get you home Jade.”
Melchior turned to Zaccai and asked, “Is there a
reason why you are dragging us along on this useless endeavor?”
“
Yes, I want both the faction leaders to
witness the crossroads.”
“
Well, should we not be
more concerned about the whereabouts of the adult version of
EC6L163O7074?” asked Izri.
“
This is far more important,” replied Zaccai.
“Plus I am fairly confident Melchior has resolved that issue,”
expressed Zaccai to Izri telepathically.
“
EC6L163O7074 is my father isn’t he?” asked
Jade.
Izri realized where this line of
questioning was going and interrupted on Jade’s behalf,
“At this time
EC6L163O7074 is not our main task. We need to focus on the
stone
, but to answer your question
yes,
EC6L163O7074 is your dad. And I want
you to know I will try everything in my power to reunite you with
him. But for now we must focus on the task at
hand.
” Jade realized the importance of
this journey, so she temporarily accepted the condensed answer, and
held her tongue.
“
Zaccai, I too do not understand
why we are traveling to Mana-dorn Mountain,” said
Melchior.
“
You will, now enough with the
questions. We must make haste,” ordered Zaccai.
Within a blink of an eye, all
four were streamed to the pavilion outside of Mana-dorn Mountain.
With little discussion they navigated the path with Zaccai at
point. The only time Melchior spoke was when he commented on how
revolting the insect population was, garnering no response from his
traveling companions. They soon arrived at the entrance where they
were granted access, and took the enclosed transport to their final
destination.
After Jade, Izri, Melchior, and
Zaccai exited, they proceeded to the main chamber and continued no
further once they reached the energy field. The beauty of the
spherical room and its purplish colors mesmerized her. Zaccai
turned to Jade and explained what the oval shaped tower and orbs
were, as her eyes focused on the indentation in the floor and she
pointed out, “That’s where the stone goes.”
Zaccai replied, “That is correct.
I see the stone has started to share its knowledge with you; I am
pleased to see this. Unfortunately we cannot precede any further.
You will have to advance alone.”
“
Why?” asked Jade.
“
Because we do not possess the protection of
the stone as do you. Before you go I must explain to you and the
others one important item.”
“
What’s that?” asked Jade with built up
anticipation.
Zaccai turned to Izri and Melchior and directed his
response towards them. Jade found this to be slightly rude, but she
knew this was not the time to educate Zaccai on proper manners.
“
My dear colleagues and most
important friends, I brought you here today as witnesses to the
events that are about to take place. I am delighted to inform you
that Jade is the chosen one.”
Melchior interrupted, “Chosen by whom?”
“
I wish I could answer this
question my good friend, but unfortunately I cannot,” replied
Zaccai. “You see Melchior, Jade is the true definition of a
miracle. Her consciousness was not developed from our planet, but
evolved naturally. We had absolutely no input in her
development.”
Melchior said in frustration,
“How dare you speak of such heresy. We are the creators. There is
nothing anyone can say or do to change my mind.”
“
We will see,” said Zaccai who
proceeded to look back over towards Jade in order to apprise her of
further information, “My child, make the choices you feel need to
be made, then place the stone into its proper setting for it to do
your bidding.”
Jade looked over towards Izri,
who gave her a slight grin, but no guidance. Therefore, she
cautiously moved forward, crossed the energy field, and approached
the indentation with excitement. Zaccai, Izri, and Melchior kept
their eyes on Jade, for they knew they were witnessing the next
evolutionary step that would affect all humanoids in the galaxy.
Jade slowly removed the stone from her pocket, walked over to the
indentation on the floor, and without hesitation placed the stone
in its rightful home. The center orange star lit up, even brighter.
The three lines straightened out and formed a solid circle around
the now glowing star, allowing their colors to change to a dark
purple. A surge of energy flowed from Jade into the stone, and
proceeded directly into Prime 2. The entire room became so bright
it blinded everyone for one solid minute. Jade heard a voice and
experienced the same sensation as when she was streamed from Earth
to Tureis. “Choose the path you feel is necessary for your people’s
evolution,” said Prime 2.
