 This
is
the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside
to another
instead of her husband, and is defiled;
30
or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the L
ORD
, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.
31
Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.

Mark 12:18-37

18
Then come unto him [Jesus] the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
19
Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave
his
wife
behind him,
and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
20
Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
21
And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
22
And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.
23
In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.

24
And Jesus answering said unto them,
Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
25

For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
26

And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I
am
the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27

He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

28
And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

29
 And Jesus answered him,
The first of all the commandments
is,
Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30

and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this
is
the first commandment.
31

And the second
is
like,
namely
this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

32
And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
33
and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love
his
neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

34
And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him,
Thou art not far from the kingdom of God.
And no man after that durst ask him
any question.

35
And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple,
How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David?
36

For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The L
ORD
said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
37

David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he
then
his son?
And the common people heard him gladly.

Psalm 48:1-14

A Song
and
Psalm for the sons of Korah.

1
 Great
is
the L
ORD
, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God,
in
the mountain of his holiness.

2
Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth,
is
mount Zion,
on
the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

3
God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

4
For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

5
 They saw
it, and
so they marvelled; they were troubled,
and
hasted away.

6
Fear took hold upon them there,
and
pain, as of a woman in travail.

7
Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

8
As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the L
ORD
of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

9
We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

10
According to thy name, O God, so
is
thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11
Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

12
Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

13
Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell
it
to the generation following.

14
 For this God
is
our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide
even
unto death.

Proverbs 10:26

26
As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so
is
the sluggard to them that send him.

Numbers 6:1–7:89

1
 And the L
ORD
spake unto Moses, saying,
2
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate
themselves
to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate
themselves
unto the L
ORD
:
3
 he shall separate
himself
from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.
4
All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.

5
All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth
himself
unto the L
ORD
, he shall be holy,
and
shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.
6
All the days that he separateth
himself
unto the L
ORD
he shall come at no dead body.
7
He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God
is
upon his head.
8
All the days of his separation he
is
holy unto the L
ORD
.

9
And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he hath defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it.
10
And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:
11
and the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an atonement for him, for that he sinned by the dead, and shall hallow his head that same day.
12
And he shall consecrate unto the L
ORD
the days of his separation, and shall bring a lamb of the first year for a trespass offering: but the days that were before shall be lost, because his separation was defiled.

13
 And this
is
the law of the Nazarite, when the days of his separation are fulfilled: he shall be brought unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:
14
and he shall offer his offering unto the L
ORD
, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish for peace offerings,
15
and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings.

16
 And the priest shall bring
them
before the L
ORD
, and shall offer his sin offering, and his burnt offering:
17
and he shall offer the ram
for
a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the L
ORD
, with the basket of unleavened bread: the priest shall offer also his meat offering, and his drink offering.
18
And the Nazarite shall shave the head of his separation
at
the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put
it
in the fire which
is
under the sacrifice of the peace offerings.

19
And the priest shall take the sodden shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put
them
upon the hands of the Nazarite, after
the hair of
his separation is shaven:
20
and the priest shall wave them
for
a wave offering before the L
ORD
: this
is
holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder: and after that the Nazarite may drink wine.

21
 This
is
the law of the Nazarite who hath vowed,
and of
his offering unto the L
ORD
for his separation, beside
that
that his hand shall get: according to the vow which he vowed, so he must do after the law of his separation.

22
 And the L
ORD
spake unto Moses, saying,
23
Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
24
 The L
ORD
bless thee, and keep thee:
25
 the L
ORD
make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26
 the L
ORD
lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
27
And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

7:
1
 And it came to pass on the day that Moses had fully set up the tabernacle, and had anointed it, and sanctified it, and all the instruments thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had anointed them, and sanctified them;
2
that the princes of Israel, heads of the house of their fathers, who
were
the princes of the tribes, and were over them that were numbered, offered:
3
and they brought their offering before the L
ORD
, six covered wagons, and twelve oxen; a wagon for two of the princes, and for each one an ox: and they brought them before the tabernacle.

4
 And the L
ORD
spake unto Moses, saying,
5
 Take
it
of them, that they may be to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, to every man according to his service.
6
And Moses took the wagons and the oxen, and gave them unto the Levites.
7
Two wagons and four oxen he gave unto the sons of Gershon, according to their service:
8
and four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari, according unto their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
9
But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them
was that
they should bear upon their shoulders.

10
And the princes offered for dedicating of the altar in the day that it was anointed, even the princes offered their offering before the altar.
11
 And the L
ORD
said unto Moses, They shall offer their offering, each prince on his day, for the dedicating of the altar.
