Adrianna
and Damen started to walk off when Jacob said, “Wait! I can do it, Adrianna. I can break into her laptop without her ever
knowing I’ve been there. Please
give me the chance to prove that to you.” Jacob pleaded.

Adrianna
frowned as she placed her hand on Jacob’s shoulder. “Jacob, you don’t have to prove yourself
to me. I will still be your friend
and you can still work for me.”

“I really
can do it, Damen. Give me the
chance and I won’t let you down,” Jacob practically begged Damen.

“Okay
Jacob, we don’t have a lot of time, so we’ll have to work fast. She won’t be gone long. I don’t know how much time it may take to
look through her files. So let’s
get started,” Damen said as he started walking off.

“Hey!” Adrianna said, but knew it was a lost
cause, so she nodded okay then followed Damen and Jacob into the hotel.

Adrianna
walked back into Afton’s office and asked Selena if she was ready to go. She knew Damen and Jacob were waiting
for Selena to leave so Damen could distract Afton in order for Jacob to get
into Afton and Selena’s bedroom to get to her laptop.

Adrianna
and Selena left to go out in the backyard to practice. She had hoped Selena would have wanted
to go to Mace’s house then Jacob would’ve had more time.

When
Adrianna and Selena went out in the backyard, Damen went into the Supreme
Alpha’s office in order to get him to take a break. Jacob needed to get into the bedroom and
he had to access Afton’s office to do so.

Damen
knocked on the Supreme Alpha’s door. “Enter, Damen.” Damen looked
surprised that he knew it was him at the door, but he was the Supreme Alpha had
a powerful nose.

“Sorry to
bother you Alpha, but I was wondering if you wanted to walk with me outside to
meet some of the pack who will be helping with the plan.” Damen knew he only had a few minutes to
get Jacob into the bedroom.

“Sure
Damen, which would be good that we did it outside, less chance of anybody
hearing. Let’s go,” Afton said as
he got up and walked outside with Damen.

Jacob
watched as the Supreme Alpha walked outside with Damen. He ran to his office and opened the
door, then ran into the bedroom the Supreme Alpha shared with Selena. He looked around trying to find Selena’s
laptop when he observed it lying beside the bed on top of her dresser. Jacob ran quickly over to the laptop,
placing it on the bed sticking the flash drive into it to copy the files they
needed to check later. Jacob walked
back and forth between the laptop and the door, watching for anybody who might
walk in.

Selena
looked up at Adrianna and told her to concentrate on the spell. Selena talked quietly to Adrianna. Then she told Adrianna to hold on, she
needed to get something in her bedroom that may help her to concentrate
better. Before Adrianna could stop
Selena, she ran back toward the hotel going in the back door.

Selena was
walking toward her bedroom when the maid stopped her, asking if she would need
more towels for her room.

Jacob
heard Selena out in the hallway. He
started to panic but grabbed the laptop, stopped the file transfer, put the
flash drive back into his pocket, then got under the bed. Jacob got under the bed just as Selena entered
her bedroom. She walked over to the
closet and got something out. As
she was starting to leave, she noticed her laptop lying on top of her bed.

“That’s
funny. I don’t remember leaving it
there.”

Adrianna
was walking into the bedroom when she heard Selena talking to herself. “Hey, what’s the hold up? I still have to meet Mace in a few
minutes. Plus, I have a lot to do
with the plan,” Adrianna said, as she looked around the bedroom.

She
smelled Jacob in the room; she knew by the smell that he was under the
bed. If he was caught, then it
would be her fault and she couldn’t allow that to happen. Adrianna hoped that if Selena smelled
Jacob in her room, then she would just think that Jacob had previously been in
the room setting it up before they arrive.

Selena was
looking at her laptop when Adrianna grabbed her hand. “Hey, really I do need to hurry,
Selena. I need for you to show me
the spell so I can go meet Mace.”

Selena
frowned and then shrugged. “Guess
Afton moved it.” She picked up her
computer and took it with her.

Jacob
waited until he didn’t hear Adrianna anymore. He knew she would keep Selena occupied
so he could get out of the bedroom. As Jacob was walking out of the bedroom, as Damen and Afton were walking
back into the hotel.

Afton
looked up and saw Jacob walking out of his office. “Jacob, were you looking for me?” Jacob jumped when he saw the Supreme
Alpha.

“I’m
sorry, Jacob. I didn’t mean to
scare you. I was just asking if you
were looking for me.”

“Yes sir,
well, no sir, I was looking for Adrianna,” Jacob stuttered.

“Oh, well
she is out in the backyard practicing with Selena,” Afton said as he walked
past Jacob opening up his door.

“Thank
you, Alpha.” Jacob bowed his head
in submission.

Damen and
Jacob waited by the door silently speaking of waiting for Adrianna. “Did you get it?” Damen asked in a whisper.

“I got a
lot of it before Selena came into her bedroom looking for something. She noticed her laptop on her bed
instead of the dresser where she left it. Adrianna came in and got her out of there so I could leave. That’s when you and the Alpha saw me
coming out of his door.”

“Scared
the shit out of you, didn’t it?” Damen softly laughed.

“Yeah, it
did. I hope I got what you
needed. She is very meticulous,”
Jacob said.

“Who is,
Jacob?” Damen inquired.

“Selena,
she had everything in order on her computer. She had a lot of files with everybody’s
names on them. I saw your name,
Damen.” Jacob looked up at Damen
worried.

“Really. Well I can’t wait to see what she wrote
about me,” Damen said as Adrianna walked back into the house. She looked at Damen and Jacob and asked
if they were ready to go to McDonald’s Pub.

“Yeah,
were ready, let’s go,” Damen said as he ushered Adrianna and Jacob out the
door. Damen looked back at the
hotel when he got in the SUV and saw Selena looking at them from the
porch. He waved and then drove off.

Adrianna,
Damen, and Jacob walked into McDonald’s Pub looking for Mace. “Hey, we need your computer, Mace,”
Adrianna said to him.

“Well, hey
to you too, Sissy.” Mace smirked.

“Hey,
Bubba. Sorry, but we need to use
your computer.” Adrianna smiled at
her big brother.

“Sorry,
but I sent it out for repairs,” Mace said.

“Okay,
well then let’s go to my house and look at it there. Probably best anyway. My mates will be mad if I stay gone too
long,” Adrianna said.

Adrianna
and the others got back into the vehicles and made their way back to Adrianna’s
house that she shared with her mates. Adrianna felt nervous going back to the house with the tension between
her and her mates. The mating pull
was playing havoc on her libido. She needed her mates. She
couldn’t concentrate with the uneasiness she felt with them. She knew she loved her mates, but she
knew they were only with her because of the mating pull. They didn’t feel the same about
her.

The
protection detail got out of the car looking around while Adrianna, Damen,
Mace, and Jacob got out of the SUV. Adrianna walked into the house looking for her mates.

“They are
in their office, Adrianna,” Percy Jones informed.

“Thanks,
Percy,” Adrianna said as she pointed to another room they could use.

Mace
looked at Damen, wondering why Adrianna wasn’t going into her mate’s office to
use one of their computers. They
walked into another room that had a desk with Adrianna’s laptop on it.

“Here
Jacob, use my laptop to plug in the flash drive.”

Jacob sat
down at Adrianna’s desk as the rest surrounded Jacob, watching his actions.

Samson and
Cade heard Adrianna come into the house. They heard Percy inform Adrianna where they were but she never came into
their office. Cade looked at
Samson, he knew Mace and Damen were with her, he wondered why she didn’t come
in.

“What are
they doing?” Cade asked Samson.

“I don’t
know but I’m going to find out. I
don’t like being kept in the dark.” Samson bristled.

They
walked into the living room looking around when Percy told Cade that Adrianna
and others were in her office. Samson and Cade stomped into the office frowning. When they entered the office, everybody
was leaning over, watching Jacob work on a computer.

“What are
ya’ll doing?” Cade asked looking at
Adrianna.

Mace spoke
first, telling Cade and Samson that Jacob had copied Selena’s files from her
computer and there were a lot of files with their names on them. Samson made eye contact with Adrianna
frowning at her. She looked away
and into the eyes of Cade who was frowning at her. Adrianna looked away from her mates and
looked back down at the computer. Adrianna knew they would be mad since she didn’t tell her mates what she
was doing.

“Stop
there Jacob, at my name. Pull that
file up for me. I would like to see
what she has on me,” Mace said in a clipped tone.

Samson and
Cade came closer; leaning in to see what was on the computer. Mace read what Selena had wrote aloud so
everybody could hear.

“Mace
McDonald is Alpha of the Ashland Pack. He is the brother of the
Trinity
. He has powers that he has yet to tap in to. He will not use his powers. He is too arrogant to use them,” Mace whispered
in shock.

Then
underneath the paragraph about Mace, Selena had his weaknesses and the packs
weak points. Mace turned red when
he started reading those. Mace
growled and everybody stood still, they knew Mace’s wolf had come to the
surface. Mace was trying to control
his wolf when Adrianna cast a calming spell toward him.

“Bubba,”
Adrianna said calmly as everybody looked up at her. There was no warmth in Mace’s eyes. He eyes glowed yellow showing how close
his wolf was.

“We need
you to take a deep breath. I need
you calm because you need to look at this in a positive way.”

Before
Adrianna could finish, Mace yelled, “Positive, how can this be positive,
Adrianna?”

“Well, now
we know what she knows about the pack and about you. I can teach you how to use your
magic. She won’t know that,
Bubba. We can also fix the
weaknesses she thinks we have. She
will be caught off guard and we can use this against her when she comes for
us.” Adrianna walked to her brother
and caressed his cheek, calming him down.

Mace
immediately calmed down with Adrianna caressing his cheek. She put her head on Mace’s shoulder as
he took deep breaths.

“Let’s
take a break, everyone. We need to
eat and then talk about this. She’s
right, Mace. This is a great advantage
for us,” Cade said as he walked over to Adrianna pulling her close to him.

Samson
asked if they could have a moment with Adrianna. “Jacob, can you show everyone to the
kitchen and set out the meats and breads on the table? We will be in there shortly.”

Everybody
filed out of the office leaving Adrianna with her mates. Samson closed the door and locked it
behind him. Adrianna stood there
quietly, watching her mates. The
mating pull was playing havoc on her. She could feel herself getting wetter just watching them.

“Adrianna,
why are you mad at us?” Cade asked
as he started walking toward her.

“I’m not
mad. I just think it will be easier
on you if I’m away more than I’m here with you,” Adrianna whispered.

“Away. Why would you say that shit? You are our mate, Adrianna. We want you with us all the time,” Cade
growled.

“Funny
Cade, that’s not what you said the other day. I know it’s the mating pull. I know you can’t love me. I don’t want a life without love. So I’m fighting the pull. I deserve to be loved by someone and
since I’m not going to get that with my mates, then I feel I need to distance
myself. I won’t just fuck you Cade,
or you Samson, anymore if I can deal with this mating pull. I may have to use magic to help us. I’ll try to research it; maybe we can
reverse this mating. I know you
want that,” Adrianna explained, as she looked everywhere else but at her mate’s
faces.

Cade and
Samson couldn’t believe what she was saying. She wanted to try to use magic to
dissolve their mating.

“Why,
Adrianna? Why would you do that?” Cade pleaded.

“Why? Cade, I’m not what you want. You don’t want a mate. I’m a problem for you and Samson. If he doesn’t become the next Leader of
the Vampire Council, then he will always blame me. I won’t be blamed for it, so I know
that’s what he wants and I want him to be happy and you too, Cade. I know I’m not mate material for
Alphas. I’m a Protector and I’m not
submissive enough for either of you. It’s not working. Look, just
let me try to reverse this. I think
you will both agree with me in the end that this was a mistake. I love…” Adrianna couldn’t
finish. She was about to tell them
she loved them.
Good going, Adrianna. You just about made a fool out of
yourself.
