“Move Prince, aint nobody thinking about you or him.” I said.

“You know better” he said before kissing me hard in the mouth. “You not gone kiss me back” he pecked my lips.

“No,” I said.

He picked me up and kissed my neck. “I love you,” he said going to work on my neck. He knew what he was doing and that that was my spot.

“Move Prince, I got to go.”

“I aint putting you down until you say you love me.” he said sucking on my neck.

“No, now move boy” I said trying to get down.

He walked me over to the couch and lay on top of me. “You don’t love me?” he asked tickling me.

I begged him to stop. I was laughing so hard I felt like I was going to pee on myself. “Ok, Ok damn! I love you, aight you happy.”

“Say it like you mean it.”

“I love you Prince, you know I do.” I said sincerely.

“Give me a kiss then.” I brought his lips to mines and kissed them. We got so into it, he started to remove my jumper. I took off his hat and tried to remove his shirt when his phone rung. He got up and helped me fix my clothes. Times like this is what I missed the most. Even though I didn’t want the moment to end, I knew it wasn’t going to last long and he would be out doing some more dirt. He walked me to my car after locking the house up.

“How long you gone be out?” he asked me.

“I don’t know, I’m meeting up with Mya to have breakfast and I don’t know what she got planned for later. What time you coming home?”

“Harlem called a sit down, you know how long that could take. I don’t know what we gone do after that but I’ll try not to stay out so late.”

“Aite, well I love you.”

“Love you to bae” he said kissing me again.

I closed my door and pulled off. For some reason, I got a bad feeling today wasn’t going to be my day.

I pulled up to the mall and Samya double parked just so I could park beside her. I got out and hugged her like I haven’t seen her in 20 years.

“Oh I miss you poo,” she said with tears in her eyes.

“I miss you too but we just seen it each a couple of weeks ago.” I said opening the door for her.

“Yea, but when was the last time we hung out. That man keeps you in the house so much that I forgot I had a sister.”

“Yea right, we talk all the time.”

We tore the mall inside and out, shopping from store to store. It wasn’t until 5:00 that we got tired. I asked her did she want something to eat. I ate from Mambo’s while she had Gino’s.

As soon as we paid for our food and sat down to eat, I went on her telling her my drama. With Mya being my best friend and sister, I could tell her anything. It’s nothing I keep from her.

“So how about Prince came home late last night with a fucking hickey on his neck.” I said and the fake shock look on her face let me know she wasn’t surprised.

“Whhaattt?” she exaggerated.

“Yes. After he jumped out of that bitch’s bed, he hopped his dirty ass in mines.”

“I hope you aint fuck that nasty nigga.”

“I did and that’s the bad part. But I didn’t know until he was almost finished.”

“He was almost finished.” Mya bust out laughing. “Girl you a mess.”

“What? You already know that nigga can’t last more than two seconds.” We both laughed.

“Well, I hope you made him strap up?”

“Sure did and he acted like it was going to kill him.” I said taking a bite of my chicken. “So what’s up with you?”

“Bitch, I need a shot or a blunt to tell you my drama. Ok, so you know I’ve been seeing this guy Harlem right?” she asked and I nodded. “I’m really feeling him and whatever and he tells me every day that he wants to make us official.”

“Ok so what’s the problem and when Ima meet him anyway?”

“Soon but the problem is Bryan. He’s starting to scare me girl. He calls me all day and night nonstop. He leaves me threatening voicemails and text messages and I think he’s following me around. I even saw his car parked outside of my apartment one night.”

“Oh my God! Mya are you serious?” I asked and she nodded. “Why don’t you get a restraining order or something?”

“Girl, what a restraining order gone do? That aint nothing but a piece of paper to most niggas.”

“You think it’s that serious, why don’t you just tell Lamar?” I asked. “Who is Bryan anyway? You’ve been telling me about him since we been kids but I never met him.”

“Really Jaz, Lamar! That nigga won’t hurt a fly. On some real shit, yeah I think it’s that serious.  I haven’t even touched the man and he’s on some old boyfriend type stalker shit.” she said but the look she gave me let me know she was lying.

We talked to each other for about another hour then got up to leave. I dumped our trash and started walking to the exit until I felt the urge to pee. I told Mya I had to go to the bathroom and that she can go ahead and leave without me. She refused and walked with me. While I was handling my business, I could her Mya talking with someone. I thought she was on her phone until I heard another voice. I wiped and flushed then walked out to wash my hands.

“Hey Jaz,” Chasity said dressed like she was ready to go to the club.

“Hey,” I said dryly.

“How are you and Prince doing?” she asked with a smirk.

“Oh we’re good but I shouldn’t have to tell you that it’s none of your business.”

“No attitude. I was just asking because of the video I saw on Facebook, that’s all. You can’t be letting these bitches get too close to your man.”

“Practice what you preach because you was once that bitch. I see that scar healed nicely.” I said walking out with Samya behind me. I couldn’t stand Chasity’s ass and the only reason she didn’t get her ass tapped again is because of the current charges I have pending against me for beating her weak ass. Chasity used to be one of my close friends. She, Mya and I grew up together and it wasn’t nothing we did without each other. That was until she betrayed our friendship. Yep, she fucked Prince. Like a dumb ass I forgave him but beat Chasity’s ass like most women who are stuck on stupid. I was young and I didn’t know any better.

“You ok, boo?” Mya asked.

“Yea, I’m straight! I just can’t stand that hoe.”

“I know but what she mean by video? All I saw was a couple of pictures.” I didn’t even have to tell nobody my business because everybody and their mama already knew what was going on in my life before I did.

“I don’t know Mya. The little bitch probably converted the pictures into a video or something but I aint tripping off that shit. Now I know where his stupid ass was at for those two weeks he stayed gone. I’m sick of his shit Mya, for real. I want to leave him but I love his ass too much.”

“Jaz, some men can’t change. They’re stuck in their ways and it aint shit you can do about it. It’s up to Prince to do right by you and honestly, I don’t see that happening any time soon. He claims he loves you but be with ole girl more than he is with you. You’ve been with that nigga for what, four years now and he still ain’t got his act right? Chile please, leave that trash alone.”

“I wish it was that easy Mya.”

“What you waiting for, boo? For that nigga to bring you a diease you can’t get rid of? Have a baby with another bitch, or for him to leave you? Cause trust, it’s gone happen and it ain’t shit you can do about it when it does happen. All I’m saying is, if he love you the way he say he do then he won’t be doing half the shit he is doing.”

“I hear you Mya but I ..” my phone started ringing and after seeing who it was I dropped it back in my purse. “Can you tell your brother to stop calling me? I don’t do bitches. My man at least got to have a set of balls to be with me.” I said causing Samya to laugh. She knew it was the true that’s why she didn’t defend him.

“No you didn’t, maybe you need a man with small balls.”

“No ma’am,” I said getting in my car.

I watched Samya get in her truck and roll the window down. “Just in case I don’t see or hear from you in a year, I love you.”

“I love you too but I told you that all that’s gone change. I’m not about to lose you or mama behind Prince.” I said and started my car.

“Well in that case, come with me to this cook out this weekend.”

“Who cookout?”

“Harlem is throwing his brother a welcome home cookout and I don’t want to go by myself. I don’t know nobody out there so please come. Please, please, please.”

“Alright, alright damn. Where is it going to be at?”

“I’ll come get you and we can ride together.” She said and I told her that was cool. I really didn’t want to drive anyway. I told her I would call her when I get home before driving off. Before heading home, I stopped at the grocery store to get something to cook tonight. Prince said he was coming home so I just pray I don’t cook this food for nothing. I had a taste for cube steak with onions and gravy, fried cabbage and homemade mashed potatoes.

I couldn’t even get in my driveway good before my phone started ringing. I knew it was Mya because of the Can’t Stop her Grind by K Camp ringtone. I decided to let it ring and call her back when I got in the house. When I first heard the song, I immediately thought of Mya.  Mya is only a couple of years older than me but I looked up to her. She is doing well for herself and didn’t need a man for shit. She has her own, works 12 hours a day and is saving up to buy this shop.

Yes, I work and yes I have my own money but I wish I was as strong as her. I had just put the bags on the counter when it rung again. I shook my head and answered my phone. “Damn Mya, you don’t miss me that much.” I laughed.

“Jaz, check yo Facebook.” Mya sounded hype.

“Why, what’s up there?” I asked and told her to hold on. I pulled up the Facebook app and checked my notifications. My heart started beating fast and I was getting light headed. I sat down and shook away the tears that started to form. I be damn if I shed another tear over Prince’s dirty ass. I was pissed the fuck off but more embarrassed than anything. Never in my life, have a man ever did me so dirty. I couldn’t stop replaying it. It was a video of Prince getting out of our shower naked. But that wasn’t the kicker, the bitch that was recording it was. It was the same chick that Prince told me he stopped fucking with 6 months ago. This chick Malissa knew what she was doing because she had the nerve to tag me in it. The fact that she was in my bathrobe added fuel to the fire.
This bitch got balls, I can give her that.
I thought while watching as she dropped my robe before looked at the camera and winked.

“You know what Mya, I’m sick of this shit. Come help me pack my stuff, please.” I said trying to calm my nerves before I snapped and burned this bitch down like my girl LeftEye did.

“I’m already in my car on the way now.” Samya wasted no time saying. I ended the call with her to call my mother. I told her everything that happened and asked if I could stay with her until I got myself together. She told me to bring my ass and that she would talk to me when I got there. That was all I needed to hear. I got up to get a head start on packing instead of waiting for Mya.

Knowing that Malissa was here in our home, had me feeling some type of way. “He must got some type of feelings for the bitch, for her to be in my house. Walking around in my robe, fucking my nigga like she wifey around this bitch. They don’t have to sneak and geek no more.” I said throwing my clothes in suit cases. I was so mad that I started talking and laughing to myself.

I walked out of the bathroom with my arms filled with stuff when Mya walked in. She didn’t speak or ask any questions, just bent down and started helping. By the time we finished, it was going on 8:00.

“You ready?” Mya asked.

“Yea, let’s go.”

We put all my stuff in the back seat and trunk of her truck. I told her I would come back and get my car because I didn’t feel like driving. I didn’t even look back when she drove off.

CHAPTER 5

                                                                      SAMYA

I never in a million years want to know what Jazmyn is going through right now. I’ve been telling her for the longest to leave Prince trifling ass alone but I never thought she would actually do it. I guess she was finally fed up with his shit. For as long as I’ve been Jaz’s sister and an even longer friend, I’ve never seen her look this sad. Prince is the dog of all dogs and what he did to Jaz was wrong and beyond disrespectful. If you ever want to hurt a woman so bad, do what Prince did.

“You ok?” I asked.

“Out of all the bullshit he has ever done to me, this takes the cake, Mya.” She said through tears. She was so strong up until we left that house. I guess reality finally set in.

“Don’t waste any more tears crying over that stupid muthafucka, Jaz. His loss boo, you can do a thousand times better than him. This aint the end Jaz, just the beginning of a new start.”

“I didn’t think it’ll hurt this bad,” she cried harder. I pulled my truck over and got out. I walked over to her side, opened the door and pulled her in for a hug. Jaz didn’t need me telling her what’s good or bad for her or that everything would get better. She needed to know that someone actually cares and that she wasn’t alone. She needed a hug and a shoulder to cry on. I felt so bad that I started crying with her. “I’m here for you boo, whenever you need me just call and I’ll come running.”

“Thanks, Mya.”

“No problem, now let’s go!” I said getting back into the truck. “Shit after a day like today a bitch needs a blunt and a shot of Patron.”

“I’m the one that need the blunt, I’m the one with all the problems.” She laughed “What you stressing about?”

“I got more problems than you think.”

“I’m listening!” she sniffled.

“We can talk about this tomorrow.” I replied. She was going through enough and I didn’t want to burden her with my problems. But she wasn’t having it; I told her I would fill her in on my drama once we got to Mama Tuesday’s. I couldn’t wait to get to mama’s crib too. It was something about being around her that had you never wanting to leave. I didn’t know if it was her cooking or that her house stays jumping like Jordan. You see, Mama Tuesday is what you call a go-getter. She ran an illegal hair salon out her home by day and whipped up that white for the local d-boys by night. She was the mother of the hood to most people but like an actual mother to me.

Being that my real mother was always somewhere trying to get high, Tuesday had to step in and help my mother take care of me and still is till this day. Mama Tuesday has been the only mother I’ve known since I was 15 years old. Whatever she did for or bought Jaz, she did the same for me. Whenever she and Jaz went out of town, I was always with them. She never once made me feel like an outsider or that I was unwelcomed. I called her Mama instead of Mama Tuesday because she wouldn’t have it any other way. I love her like a mother, maybe even more than my own mother. That’s why I look at Jaz more like a sister than a friend because we had a bond like one. Tuesday and Jaz was my only family.

Even though Lamar is my brother and my mother Brandy is alive somewhere, I still felt closer to Jaz and Tuesday than them. I don’t know if it’s because I didn’t know Lamar growing up or the fact that we have the same father and I never met the nigga that I was jealous about. My mother said that when I was 2, he left her for another woman and instead of taking me along with him, he took only Lamar. She said he didn’t want any girls to begin with because they were too grown for him. I thought she was lying like she always does until Lamar came to see me when I was 17. He showed up at Mama Tuesday’s house one day looking for me. He confirmed that what my mother told me was true. He said what his daddy did was wrong and that he wanted to get to know his little sister.

I pulled up in front of Mama Tuesday’s house and parked in the driveway. She came right out and stood on the porch with a blunt in her hand. She put one hand on her thick hips and looked at us with her face scrunched up.

Mama Tuesday was a bad lady to be 42. I can’t say bitch because I didn’t want to get in trouble, she don’t play that shit. I haven’t seen a woman her age that looked half as good as she did. It was no question that Jaz took after her mother. They both had a small waist and fat asses. The only difference was Mama Tuesday was a little darker and Jaz had some long beautiful hair.

“Oh Lord,” I looked over at Jaz and we started laughing. “Let’s get out of this car before she go off.” I said.

“I think it’s too late for that.” Jaz replied.

“Y’all ain’t too old for an ass whooping, keep me waiting out here like that again and see what happens.” Mama said and I chuckled.

“Sorry Mama,” Jaz and I said at the same time then laughed. Before we had a chance to walk in the house, she stopped us and grabbed a hold of Jaz’s face. Up until now, I didn’t take notice of the bruises and scratches that were on her face and neck. She had done a real good job with her makeup that you could barely tell. But all that crying she done messed it up.

“Jazmyn, now you know the fuck better!” Mama snapped.

“Not now mama, please.” Jaz said walking in.

“Ima fuck that nigga up.” She said and pulled on her blunt before passing it to me. “Her too. She knows better than that, letting his punk bitch ass hit on her like she a fucking a man.” I couldn’t do nothing but laugh because I knew she meant every word.

When I walked in, I was shocked not to see a house full of niggas. It was only this dude Keontay, that me and Jaz went to school with but everybody call him Keke for short, and two more other guys. I knew one of the dudes though; he hustles for this guy I’m kicking it with.

“What’s up Mya?” dude said.

“Hey,” I said.

“You don’t remember me do you?” He asked rolling a fat blunt.

“Yea I do, I just can’t recall your name.”

“Damion,” he replied.

“Man, leave my sister alone.” Keke said then continued with his call.

“Nigga I can speak, I aint trying to holla. That’s my boy girl anyway.” Damion said and I looked at him like he was crazy.

“Um no, Samya isn’t tied down to no nigga. Get it straight!” I said walking away. I had to pee really bad. I’ve been holding it since I left Jaz place.

“Bruh, you better leave that one alone. Only crazy bitches refer to themselves in the third person.” I heard the other dude say causing all of them to laugh.

I hurried to the bathroom down the hall, damn near tripping in the process. I handled my business and washed my hands. As I was drying them, my phone went off. Just by the ringtone I already knew who it was. I took my time answering it. I didn’t want him thinking I was waiting on his call.

“Hello,” I answered.

“What’s this I hear about you not being tied down?” I smiled and from the tone of his voice I could tell he was mad.

“Well, hello to you to and I see your homeboy a run and tell it type of nigga.”

“Nah, he ain’t even like that. He reports back to me with info he know I ain’t feeling. Like that smart ass remark, I ain’t like that shit.” I took the phone away from my ear and looked at it as if he could see me.

“Whatever Harlem!”

“Nah for real ma, say sorry because that hurt my feelings,” he said and I started laughing but stopped when I didn’t hear him laughing with me.

“Are you serious?” I asked.

“Don’t I sound serious, Mya.”

“I’m sorry boy,” I continued to laugh. “What are you doing anyway?”

“Not shit, thinking about you. You wanna take a ride with me?” he asked

“Where?”

“Where ever you want to go.”

“I just want to chill for real.” After helping Jaz move her shit, I didn’t have the energy for anything else.

“Aite, ima come and get you. I’ll call when I’m outside.” He said and hung up. There wasn’t a need for me to text him the address, I’m pretty sure his friend already told him. I walked to my old room, which I still used when I didn’t want to drive all the way across town.

Instead of getting did up, I was going to go comfortable. We were only chilling tonight, so there wasn’t a need for me to get dressed up when he was going to undress me. After I got out of the shower, I got dressed and looked myself over in the mirror. I was wearing a black and pink Juicy Couture jogging suit and my black Jordan 10 Retros. The destroyed 17 year old I was back then is now a beautiful 23 year old woman. I’m 5’7 133 pounds with big perky breast and a nice round ass. It wasn’t as big as Jaz or Mama Tuesday’s but it was still fat. I had smooth chocolate skin, small dark brown eyes and full lips.

Harlem texted me and said he was outside, I told him to give me ten minutes. I did my hair in a messy high bun, grabbed my purse and keys then went to check on Jaz. I knocked on her room door before letting myself in. The room was so dark that I thought she was sleep until I heard her talking.

“Jaz, I’m leaving for a few hours. Do you need anything?” I asked turning on the light.

“Um, no and stop treating me like I’m sick. I’m good! Where are you going anyway?” she asked turning her lip up.

“To Harlem’s crib.”

“Um hmm, so when do I get to meet this Harlem?” she asked sitting up in her bed.

“Girl, we not even rocking like that.”

“Bitch quit lying. You be with that nigga a lot. He must be ugly or something, huh?”

“Uh un, don’t do me like that. Stop being nosey and get some sleep, I’ll be back later.” I said turning to walk out. “I love you and tell Mama I’m gone aite.” I said turning the light back off. I heard some old school slow jams playing and knew Mama’s boyfriend was here. I rolled my eyes at the thought of him and walked out the front door.
I can’t stand his ass.
