Kat had been a huge help, but it seemed like no matter how hard I tried Melina wanted nothing to do with me.

I should have just told her about Amanda but I couldn’t bring myself to. I didn’t want it to be a deal breaker, and so many people judged both of us for it; I couldn’t put Amanda through that. It wasn’t fair of me and it wasn’t fair to her.

I bit my lip as I put my car into park. I’d planned on spending the day with Melina, but that hadn’t panned out so here I was, back home.

I pocketed my keys and stepped out of the car. I grabbed the leftover Chinese food and carried it into the house.

“What are you doing home early?”

“I took a sick day.” I said as I stepped into the kitchen. A woman, blonde hair and green eyes, stared at me. Her eyes narrowed as she held the baby in her arms.

“A sick day?”

“It’s nothing.” I said as I sat down across from her and held my hands out for the baby in her arms.

“She missed her daddy today.” My mom said handing her over to me. “She’ll be glad you’re home early. Does this sick day have anything to do with that girl you mentioned yesterday?”

“Yes, just not in a way I’d been hoping it would.” I’d planned on telling her about Amanda. I stared down at the little girl; she had her grandma’s eyes. She smiled letting out a giggle as she reached for me. I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my face. As hard as it was, she was worth it. “They always get so freaked out when I tell them about her. I wanted to warm her up to it. I wanted her to get to know me first, before she ran away because of my daughter.” I blew out a deep breath as my mother reached into the bag I’d dropped on the table. She pulled out a spring roll and bit into it.

“Maybe you need to give this girl the benefit of the doubt, if you actually think she means that much to you.”

The benefit of the doubt had been something I’d long since given up honestly. But Melina hadn’t given me any reason not to trust her- she just wanted to know who Amanda was.

I took my reading glasses off and lay them down on the table, rubbing my eyes as I told myself I would only take a quick break. I wanted this assignment to be perfect. I needed it to be. I needed to start getting better grades. I bit my lip staring down at my notes. Once I was done taking the notes I’d find a way to organize them and type up the paper. Then I’d revise it a couple times probably; just to be safe.

I reached for my phone as it went off.

My brow furrowed. Unknown name.

Do you want to meet Amanda?

My heart skipped a beat as I stared at his message. Who was she? Was he really going to let me meet her?

I swallowed and typed three letters. Y. E.S

He sent me an address to meet him at, and told me to bring Kat if I wanted.

“Kat!” I screamed as I jumped to my feet.

She came out of her bedroom, shoes already on. “I know.” She gave me a smile.

I stared at her, dumbstruck. “How…?”

“How do you think he got your number?” She grinned. “Come on, let’s go. I want to know who this Amanda chick is too.”

I laughed gently, though it wasn’t exactly a happy laugh. “Alright, just let me put some real clothes on.” I wasn’t going to go meet her in yoga pants and a sweatshirt. I wanted to look good. I wanted to prove to her why Adan might be interested in me.

I picked a pair of light wash jeans that flared out, with a black button up shirt and I tied my hair into a bun that sat tightly against my head. I applied some red lipstick as well as some mascara and eyeliner. Nothing too extreme but enough to make a difference.

“Alright, we can go now.” I slipped into a pair of red heels and grabbed my purse.

“I’ll drive.” Kat said reaching for her car keys.

“Alright.” I was too nervous to argue. My stomach was doing flips and I felt like I was about to puke. A thin layer of sweat had begun to form on my palms as we headed out the door and towards her little blue Chevy.

I didn’t know the area very well as we drove. It was only a half hour drive, though it felt like a hell of a lot longer than that. I wanted nothing more to get there, but when we came to a stop in front of a small brick house my heart jumped into my throat. My cut turned and for a second I thought I was actually going to puke. Kat put the car into park and turned to me. “You ready for this?”

“No.” I confessed.

She reached out and touched my arm. “It will be okay.” She promised me.

“Thanks.” I wasn’t sure I believed her, but that didn’t matter. It was still nice to have someone tell me it was going to be okay. Before she could say anything else, or I told her to just turn the car around, I opened my door and stepped out of the car.

I heard her do the same as I headed towards the house. My heart raced, pounding in my ears. I looked around. I couldn’t see him anywhere outside, so he must be inside. Of course that wasn’t a surprise to me.

I forced one foot in front of the other as I made my way towards the door. When I got there I just stopped and stared at it. I bit my lip.

Kat reached out and pressed the doorbell for me. I glanced at her and she smiled warmly. “It will be fine.” She promised again.

I nodded, not trusting my words.

My heart skipped a beat. When she hadn’t replied to me I didn’t think she would come.

I scooped Amanda up into my arms and rushed for the door. My mom caught my eye as she got to the door first. She gave me a soft smile, silently trying to tell me everything would be okay. I hoped she was right but I didn’t have as much faith as she did. She reached out for the door, pulled it open and I saw her. She stared past my mom.

She stared at me. Her eyes wide as she glanced from myself to my daughter, then back to me.

“Yes, she’s mine.” I said.

The woman who answered the door didn’t look that young. Was that what he was into? Was that their baby? I tried to say something, but couldn’t bring myself to. Instead I looked back at the woman as she stepped out of the way. “Please, come in.”

“Thank you.” Kat spoke so I didn’t have.

“Let me get you three a drink.” She smiled as she looked me over for a fraction of a second before walking away. I turned my attention to Adan.

“So…. That’s Amanda.” I honestly wasn’t sure if I was talking about the baby or the woman. My mind raced trying to piece it all together.

“Yes and the woman you met at the auto store was her mom.”

So the baby was Amanda. And the woman in the auto store had been her mother, but that still didn’t explain everything. “The woman you just met is my mother. Because of our situation my mom lives with us and helps babysit for me.” He didn’t look at me. “Come, sit down. You must have some questions.”

“I only have one.”

He froze, looked up at me and raised an eyebrow. “What is that?”

“Are you and Amanda’s mother involved? No, are you involved with anyone Adan?”

“No.”

“Then why didn’t you tell me about Amanda?” Did I seem like the type of girl that wouldn’t be okay with it? I swallowed dryly.

“Because a lot of people aren’t willing to accept her.” He held his child tightly. “And she’s my world.”

“Well, I’m not one of those people.”

Epilogue

It was a full house but it was beginning to work. Kat was with her boyfriend most of the time anyways, so that only left a few of us actually here all the time. But after eight months we’d decided there was no point in not making this change.

I dropped down onto the bed and let out a sigh. “Alright, she’s all tucked away in bed.” Adan grabbed me, pulling me into his arms. I giggle softly as he picked back up on what we’d been doing before Amanda started to cry. Finding alone time was hard enough in a house with five people in it, let alone when one of them was a baby. I crawled on top of him, back how we had been before I had to get up. His hands traced over the curves of my body gently. I let out a deep breath, my eyes rolling back as his hands slipped lower and lower.

His fingertip brushed my upper thigh. My eyes rolled back as I reached for his cock. I bit my lip so I wouldn’t make too much noise as a finger slipped past my folds and inside me as my fingers curled around his shaft.

Stroke. Stroke. Stroke.

We kept rhythm with each other.

“You’re still really wet.” He whispered gently.

“You did a good job turning me on.” I grinned.

“So, we shouldn’t keep up with the foreplay?” His eyes sparkled.

I guided his cock towards my body. “No.” His finger slipped out of me seconds before his head touched my folds.

I gasped as I lowered myself slowly onto him. He grabbed my hips, gently pulling me down. My eyes rolled back as I bit my lip, refusing to let myself moan.

I loved the feel of him inside me, but more than anything I loved the intimacy. He froze for a fraction of a second.

“What is it?”

“Did you remember to take your pill tonight?”

“Yes.”

With one baby already taking up so much of our time Adan was ultra-paranoid about making sure I took my birth control on time and every day.

My answer seemed to please him, because he rolled me onto my back, his cock sliding out of me gently, and pushing back in.

This time I did gasp, my fingers tangling into the bedding.

Stroke. Stroke. Stroke.

Adan pushed into me faster and faster. Again, his hands found their way to my hips, pulling me towards him everything he slid into me. Faster. Harder.

“Oh yes.” I muttered. I could feel myself getting so close.

My hand reached between my legs. My finger touching my clit. I gasped as pleasured threatened to overtake me right then and there.

He pushed into me faster and faster. With my free hand I grabbed one of his, squeezing gently as I opened my eyes to stare at him. his lips lowered to mine. A soft, intimate expression but it was enough to send me over the edge.

I gasped, my eyes rolling back as everything went a fuzzy white. My hips buckled as my body arched. A wave of pleasure washed through my body, so intense I thought I was going to scream.

Adan gasped, thrusting into me hard, his nails digging into my body. Another wave of pleasure surged through my body. My fingers rubbing my clit, faster and faster as I bit back the screams I wanted to let out. Adan thrust into me again. Letting out a deep breath.

Another wave of pleasure rippled through my body, this time much more gentle. I fell against the bed gasping for breath as I opened my eyes. Even in the dark I could see him. He reached out tracing over the curves of my body as he pulled out and grabbed something for me to clean up with.

“Thanks.”

It only took us a couple seconds to get all cleaned up, redressed and back in bed. Adan pulled me into his arms.

When I’d met him I never thought this was where I would be in eight months, but it had to be the best choice I’d ever made.

The End

Protecting the Playgirl

Chapter One

Jenna leaned over the railing. Wind rushed over her face. She closed her eyes. A grin slipped over her red lips. Behind her, the music throbbed, ebbed. The alcohol that coursed through her system, mixed with the pills in her purse  created a delectable cocktail of heat and sensuality.

A hand was laid on her back making her lean away from the railing. Her eyes gazed down below to the city that was bathed in blackness, dotted with lights from cars. Slowly, she turned to the person who had tapped her.

Michael Callahan’s bright, blue eyes were gazing back at her. A smirk pulled at the corners of his mouth. His eyes roamed over her body in the skin tight black dress and the tall, black heels. He bit his lip. Jenna knew that look well.

“Are you coming back to the party?”

Jenna slipped a cigarette out of her purse. There were two of Michael now. They waved back and forth before turning back into one person. She gave a grin, slipped the cigarette between her teeth before she slipped her fingers around it.

“Light me up?”

Michael reached into the pocket of his jeans. He pulled out a silver, square lighter before he lit her smoke. She sucked in a breath, let the smoke burn her lungs before she pushed it out. Her fingers ran through her black, wavy hair. This was life at its finest.

“Come back inside. You’ll fall off of this thing if you’re not careful.”

“I’m not afraid to fly,” she said with a mischievous look in her eyes.

Michael chuckled. “Well, you wouldn’t be flying. You’d be dead.”

Jenna shrugged. Shaking his head, he wrapped an arm around her shoulder before leading her back towards the penthouse. She flicked her cigarette over the railing, watched the red tip float off into the night before she let herself be escorted inside.

They’d been up all night. Dinner from nine to ten. The club from eleven to two. Now, they danced in Michael’s place. Although, it wasn’t really dancing, Jenna thought as she looked on. A girl was twisting her hips, grinding against a tall, dark haired man behind her. It was like that everywhere; bodies twisting, writhing, rubbing against one another.

Jenna couldn’t help but to watch a little closer. She wanted that. Wanted the sensuality that she saw unfolding before her. Michael sat down beside her. Not from him though. His hand laid on her knee. She sighed. The woman brushed him off with a manicured hand.

“Not tonight, Michael.”

Her relationship with Michael was long, complicated and ugly. She pushed herself up from the couch, taking another cigarette out of her purse as she went. It was time to go home. She knew her daddy would be up, sitting in that plush, cream chair when she got home. Waiting for her. Nevermind that she was twenty-one now. Jenna knew that she would always be “daddy’s little girl.”

Reaching into her bag, she dug out her phone. The screen lit up, making her squint against the glare. She briefly gazed at the time, three-forty five, then checked her messages. There were the usual texts from her mom, yelling at her seemingly, but her father was the type to leave a voicemail. There were three. She sighed.

Hands gripped her shoulders. She spun around quickly, ready to tell Michael to fuck off, but the face she met wasn’t his. This man’s face was hidden, deep inside of a black hoodie that threw his features in shadows. He was gripping her arm, pulling her towards the door. Jenna’s eyes were wide, but went wider when something pressed into her side. She gazed down.

A gun.

“What do you want with me?” She slurred as the man hurried her along, making her stumble.

“Shut up and keep walking.”

“My dad is rich. I can get you the money,” she said as she realized the man was serious.

“I said shut up!”

The man cocked the gun. She whimpered. Her eyes searched the party, sought out some ray of hope in the crowd of oblivious party goers. No one noticed what was happening. The man tightened his grip around her arm, yanked her.

“Ow!” She cried as a sharp pain shot up her arm. The stranger didn’t care. He moved faster.

They were walking out of the door. In the hallway, he began to push her towards the elevators. She panicked. Jenna had heard many tales of kidnapping, but she didn’t want to be one of them. Her body however was frozen, fear coursed through her making her stupid.

“Excuse me,” a man stepped into the path. “I’m going to need her back.”

Jenna knew who he was immediately. Damien. She was all too familiar with the shortly cropped black hair, the hard, hazel eyes and the tanned skin. The man was six feet of trouble. His arms were crossed over his chest. He wasn’t looking at Jenna, but rather staring down the man who had a hold on her.

The man let go of her, turned the gun on Damien. She watched Damien’s lips pull into a smile. No fear. Jenna turned, kicked the guy in the crotch. He dropped like a stone, the gun spiraling out of his hand and sliding over the marble floor. Jenna grabbed it, ran to Damien. The man on the ground was quick to recover, disappearing down a stairwell before they could react.

Still breathing heavily, she clutched Damien. He took the gun from her before he slipped it into the back of his jeans. She could feel the hard muscle of his body through the black t-shirt that stretched over his chest. Jenna gazed up.

“Hi there,” he said quietly.

“What are you doing here?”

The man straightened up, all but pushing her off of him. The elevator doors were sliding open. Her father marched through the steel, double doors, a deep scowl on his face. His eyes fixed on Jenna and blazed.

“What do you think you’re doing? I called you over and over. What’s wrong?” He asked as he noticed Jenna trembling.

“Daddy,” she wrapped her arms around his neck, unable to hide the tears that had started to flow. “There was a man...and a gun...and...and,” her sobs choked out the rest of her words.

Her father rubbed her back softly, shushing her. His hand ran over her hair before he reached into his pocket and produced his handkerchief. Jenna took it, wiping her eyes as he led her onto the elevator. To her surprise, Damien stepped on with them.

“What’s going on, daddy?”

“I told you that you have to be careful. This merger we’re going through at the company is making for a lot of disgruntled employees. I tried to tell you earlier tonight that you could be in danger.”

“I know. I’m sorry. He got away,” she said, concern showing on her face.

Her father shook his head. “No, I hired a team to keep an eye on you. I’m sure he was caught in the parking lot, but there could be others. That’s why I hired Damien to look after you.”

Jenna raised an eyebrow at him as they stepped off of the elevator. “What are you talking about?”

“He’s a bodyguard. I hired him.”

Jenna’s mouth hung open. She glanced over at Damien. He winked, a grin on the corner of his mouth. Jenna scoffed. There was no way she wanted Damin Atwater watching over her.

“Daddy, I don’t
need
a bodyguard. This was a one time thing, a fluke.”

“We can’t be sure of that,” he said as the car door was opened by their driver. “Now, get in the car. We’re going home.”

Jenna’s crying was over, quickly replaced by her anger. The long drive down the Miami streets was quiet. She kept her arms folded over her chest until they pulled up in front of the home.

The estate was huge;  it was done in red brick, white columns and grand topiary. The lawns were immaculate, the swimming pool immense and the house itself had more rooms than they’d ever need. Jenna had always thought it was her mother who wanted the house more, she had a taste for grand things.

Stepping out of the car, she stumbled on the driveway. A hand gripped her arm, steadying her. She looked over to see Damien holding her up, a look of concern on his stern face. She pulled her arm away from him.

“I’m fine.”

“You don’t look fine,” he said so fiercely that she was taken aback.

“Let’s get inside,” her father said.

He was already ahead of them, standing on the stairs. Jenna took her time navigating the steps. When she walked into  the house, the first person she saw was her mom, wrapped up in a thin, pink robe. Her blonde hair was tousled slightly, her eyes red rimmed.

“Jenna!” She cried, taking her into a tight hug. “I heard about what happened. What the hell were you thinking?”

Jenna rolled her eyes. “Not now, mom. I just want to go to bed.”

“No! You are going to sit here and talk to me. I want to know what’s going on with you,” her mom’s voice was growing more desperate with every passing word.

“I’m going to bed,” she repeated.

Her mom was on the verge of protesting, but her dad put an arm on her shoulder. Jenna didn’t stick around to see the look of disappointment on her mom’s face. She felt bad enough already. She traversed the stairs up to her room, kicked off her shoes and plopped on the high, king sized bed covered in thick comforters.

Jenna’s mind was overwhelmed. Her body was still dealing with the alcohol and pills going through her system. Adrenaline still pumped through her veins from her encounter. Then there was Damien.

She could see that crooked smile in her memory. Hear that deep timber of a voice shaking her to her core. Jenna could still feel his fingers tracing her body, dipping between her shapely thighs. A tremor passed through her. She didn’t want to remember Damien like that, didn’t want the pain of those good memories mixed with the bad ones.

Quickly, she pushed those thoughts out of her head. Jenna wiggled down beneath her blankets. She would deal with things tomorrow. After all, Jenna was absolutely certain that her daddy would listen to her. She’d always been able to persuade him.
