“I love making you come, baby,” he spoke softly. “To feel you quiver makes me so fucking hard.” His words were my undoing. I came hard and squirted a little, as I moaned out his name louder. He continued to suck on my clit and motion his fingers in and out of me.

He took his finger out and slowly licked and sucked my juices off them. He went back, started to suck on my swollen lips and stick his tongue into my sex, and licked at it lavishly as I calmed down from my orgasm. The rain finally started to come down and you could hear it on top of the stable roof. You could also feel the raindrops blowing in from the winds that carried them. He knelt there stroking his beastly cock emitting low grunts and groans. You could see the veins in the shadows of the lightning as it continued to flash.

“Maya, I love the way you taste,” he said to me. “Your pussy is tight and the juices are addicting. I could eat you all night.” I felt myself becoming aroused again at his description of my juices and what he wouldn’t mind doing to me. He lined up in front of me and buried his cock deep inside me. I arched my back in pure pleasure as he continued to thrust deep inside me, slowly. I cried out as his motions were coaxing another orgasm, this time penetrating me from the inside.

He placed my legs over his shoulder while leaning into me. He started to move slowly in and out of me torturing me with each thrust.

“Nick,” I cried out again. He raised his eyes, looked at me, and smiled.

“That’s right Maya, come for me,” he whispered, “so I can taste you again.”

“Oh, Nick, Nick.” I couldn’t help it, he was hitting every nerve ending imaginable and I released on his command. He had quickened his pace and kept driving and thrusting to bring about his on orgasm when I felt another orgasm coming. I reached up and grabbed his arms as I pulled myself into him, deepening my orgasm, and bringing his forth.

“Aw shit!” he gritted out. He grabbed my hair and pulled my head back to expose my neck which he bit and then sucked. An aftershock of pleasure rushed through me as he laid us back down from the inclined position we were in. He reached up and loosened the knot on the rope. My legs, feeling weighted, fell and were no longer suspended. He lay on top of me kissing me softly, gently caressing my face. He rolled us over where I was now on top and he was pushing my hair back out of my face.

“You are beautiful,” he spoke softly. “I don’t want anything to come between us, ever.”

“I think you can take the cuffs off my ankles now to start,” I replied comically. He rolled me over and grabbed the key to unlock and remove them.

“Are you okay?” he asked.

“Yes. I am better than okay, I am yours,” I replied. I lay in his embrace while he rubbed my arms entangled in the blanket.

“I love you, Amaya Davis,” he whispered.

“I love you too, Nicholas Hansen.” We fell asleep listening to the sound of the rain falling on the stable roof.

Chapter 13

The sound of my alarm clock made me sad. My weekend is officially over, I said to myself as I got up. I started my shower and looked at myself in the mirror. Nicholas sure marked his territory, I said as I looked at the bite marks and hickeys on my neck. We left the ranch yesterday morning, stopped to grab a bite to eat, and Nicholas dropped me off so I could get some rest. I had every right to be tired. We woke up in the middle of the night Saturday after falling asleep in the stables and went into the house. We showered and then we went to bed, not before having sex again. I swear that man has control over me unlike anyone I have ever been involved with. I got in the shower and let the water hit me as I thought about Nicholas. He was different. He was gentle and sweet, except for the sex of course. However, even that was different. A little bondage, a lot of slow torturing, and he keeps talking about this rage. I shook off my thoughts and got out of the shower. I was sure to hear it from Samantha this morning since I didn’t have a phone all weekend, and still don’t.

“Look who is alive.” Just as I predicted, Samantha was a beautiful ray of sunshine.

“Good morning to you too, Samantha.”

“Oh, so you do know me,” she said, following me as I walked to my office with my caramel Frappuccino in hand.

“Amaya, you have some ‘splaining to do.” Her impression of Ricky Ricardo was cute, but I knew she was serious. My friends always worry about me, especially when they can’t reach me. I sat in my chair and looked up at her.

“Shit how much sex did you two have this weekend?” she immediately questioned while looking me over. “Did you sleep any? Oh, my look at your neck.” She was nonstop.

“Samantha, please calm down,” I said, rubbing my head like a bad hangover.

“Tell me about your weekend?” I began to open my mouth when there was a knock at my door.

“Oh, my goodness, look at these flowers!” she exclaimed, “And a box.”

I opened the card:

I can’t stop thinking about you. I’ll call you later- Nick

I thought to myself, how is he going to call me when I don’t have a phone unless he meant calling the office. I opened the box and there was a phone inside with another card.

Sorry for making you lose your phone- N.H.

I was absolutely happy at this gesture. The phone was fully charged and all my contacts and information were already stored in there. I wondered how he managed to get this done. I looked over at Samantha, who was having a field day with the flowers.

“So, how was the ranch?” Samantha asked. Suspicion confirmed.

“How did you know I was at the ranch?” I questioned.

“Huh, um, didn’t you mention it this morning?” she said with an obvious

tone.

“No, I did not. Spill it, missy,” I exclaimed.

“Okay. He asked me to help sync your Outlook so he could get all of your information on the new phone he bought you. He called Jason yesterday to call me and he already had the phone. Plus, he needed the information in order for you to keep the same number. I swear that’s all I did.” She had the most apologetic, endearing look on her face. Too bad, she is not that innocent.

“Well, thank you, Samantha, for your help,” I replied with a smile.

“So, how was the weekend?” Samantha asked.

“It was, um…” I started blushing as I thought about the weekend.

“Oh my, you are falling for him aren’t you?”

“Kind of. I mean I told him….”

“Oh my god, you told him you loved him!” She yelled so loudly Mr. Anderson came into the office.

“Are you ladies okay?” he asked.

“Yes, Mr. Anderson. Samantha got a little excited over the news I shared with her,” I said to pull attention away from the subject.

“Keep it down, Samantha.” He smiled as he left the office and closed the door.

“So what happened, how did it happen?”

“He was sincere in his apology to me about Tabitha and Michael and all that shit. I felt that he was into me and wanted to be with me. I let myself feel for a change and it was nice. I know it is love because I trust him not to hurt me.”

“That sounds great.” Samantha looked dreamy eyed as she said that.

“Come on, let’s get to work,” I encouraged. We did have positions under us to fill thanks to the promotion.

“So are you guys like bf/gf now?”

“I guess. We haven’t exactly defined roles. He called me his baby.”

“Oh my God, I’m going to call for lunch.” She pulled out her phone and commenced to calling Tia and Gabrielle.

I could hear the screams through the phone as she told them the story. I laughed and continued to review resumes.

“Great. Lunch is in two hours. Tia has a couple of showings today.”

“That’s fine.” I picked a few resumes and handed them to Samantha to take to HR to set up for interviews. The mail clerk had come around and dropped off two bins full of mail and packages. I rolled my eyes at the bins, said hello Monday to myself inside my head, and started sorting and prioritizing. A few of the items were requests for representation so I passed those over to Samantha for review and research. The NHL sent us ten season passes as a thank you for the marketing deal that has fans running to the ice. I smiled at the thought that I created a partnership that I hope will last a long time. I put the passes to the side for discussion with Mr. Anderson and the Binnings. There were a few catalogs for office supplies and marketing ideas like as cups, pens, T-shirts. Those things I also put to the side for review later.

I decided to go through the requests for representation when Alicia came to the door.

“Hi, Amaya,” she spoke.

“Carl asked me to stop by and hand you the NHL contracts that were signed, notarized, entered into the system, and now front page copied and framed for you to hang on your wall.

“Congratulations again, sweetie.” She gave me a big hug after setting the framed contract on the desk.

“Thank you, Alicia.”

“It’s nice to see you work as hard as you do and it pays off.” I smiled at her expression. It was almost like hearing my dad through her.

“I’m sorry, but, you have a call on line three,” Samantha interrupted.

“Okay, thanks, Samantha.”

“Well, I guess I’ll be heading back to my office,” Alicia said.

“Okay, I’ll catch you later, thanks again.”

“Amaya Davis speaking.” My tone was upbeat and sultry as if I knew he was on the line.

“You mean to tell me, that after all we meant to each other, you go and get you a rich white boy and forget about the man you planned to marry. He must be breaking your back if you can forget about what we had.” My heart rate increased and I found myself in a panic-stricken state. That voice, those words, could only be one person.

“Michael?” I spoke faintly. “How did you get my number? What do you want?”

“You know what want, I want you babe. You the only one who knows how I like it. Oh, and I got your number from a contract with my company—the photography staff from the party Friday night.”

“That doesn’t give you the right to call me, so I’m hanging up now.” I hung the phone up as I felt flushed and my palms became sweaty. Tears threatened and I had to catch my breath before I passed out. I laid my head on my desk to gather my thoughts when Samantha came into the office and rubbed my shoulders to comfort me.

“Was that a bad client?” It was obvious she did not know who was actually on the phone.

“You could say that.” I took a deep breath and proceeded to tell her who was on the phone. “That was Michael Johnson. Apparently, he owns the photography company from Friday and he felt that it was carte blanche to call me after all these years. I thought I got rid of this guy and here he comes back into my life when things are starting to make a change. I finally come out of hiding and the past rears its ugly head.” I exhaled loudly, laid my head back on my desk, and closed my eyes for a second so I could re-center.

“Is it lunch yet?” I asked sarcastically. I knew it wasn’t, but I sure could use a break. I quickly shook it off and barked out orders.

“Okay, back to work.” I found my center again looked over the mail I had sorted and handed it to Samantha to set appointments for consultations. I was finalizing paperwork when my phone beeped. It was a reminder for lunch in fifteen minutes, no doubt set up by Samantha. I briefly revisited that phone call and realized throughout all the chaos, I hadn’t heard from Nick, except for the flowers and the phone. I was thinking that he may be busy considering it is Monday and maybe he hasn’t been able to call or text me. I felt my thoughts getting out of control so I locked my computer and grabbed Samantha and headed to meet the girls for lunch.

We met at the Chop House 305 located one block from the job.  We eat close so we can have a drink. We requested a table on the patio and ordered our midday drinks. They were usually light on the alcohol and fruity on the flavor with enough kick to wind you down.

“So you told him you loved him,” Gabrielle said matter-of-factly. Ah yes, the usual inquisition, I thought to myself.

“Yes, I did.” My answer sounded unsure.

“Well, what happened was it an act of passion or what?” Tia, also known as inspector number 2, chimed in.

“No, I was very aware of what I was saying to him.”

“Hmm. It doesn’t sound like you, that’s all. It’s like you are afraid to commit and all of a sudden you’re in love. We just don’t want it to be out of mixed feelings or wrong feelings,” Gabrielle said.

“I understand ladies, trust me I do, but I am sure that what I feel is love. Did you know that he and his brother got into a fight with Michael after the party? He came home all disheveled. I was tending to his pains, and he told me what happened.”

“Is that when you told him? Because that could be an emotional response,” Tia asked.

Are these chicks for real, I thought to myself as I rolled my eyes.

“No, Gabrielle and Tia. I didn’t tell him because of emotions or out of gratitude for defending me. He wasn’t defending me to me. He has erased my hurt now I can feel again. He can actually see past my exterior and he loves what’s on the inside and the outside. I finally allowed myself to see that about him and past the bull and the shit Tabitha was trying to pull and actually feel for him.” The girls looked starry-eyed at me as I was describing my internal feelings for Nicholas.

“Oh, Maya. I had no idea,” Tia said.

“Neither did I.” My comment was short and fueled by many emotions right now. Most of it was hurt, rage, and the fact that my friends were not as supportive as I thought they would. It was as if they thought the sex made me feel this way. Part of me on the inside started to think that maybe they were right in thinking that, but then I realized that we have had tender moments too. I ordered another drink from the waiter.

“Maya?” Samantha spoke, “that’s like three drinks.”

“And your point is? Or did you forget about the mystery phone call today?” I felt my attitude starting to flare up.

“Wait, wait. What phone call?” Tia asked while the waiter placed my drink in front of me.

“Oh yeah, Michael called me today. He felt since his photography company worked our event Friday night, he had every right to call me.” I slammed down that Mai-Tai and ordered another.

“Ay, mami. I did not know he owned the company,” Gabby said, sorrowful.

“It’s okay, Gabrielle. I’m confident you didn’t know. He just really rattled me for a minute, but I hung up on him and found my ground again.” My phone rang as silence fell over the group.

“Amaya Davis speaking,” I answered.

“Hey baby, what are you doing?”

“Oh, hi, Nick.” I looked at them as I said his name to judge their reaction. They all looked away from me with guilt in their eyes.

“I’m just having lunch with the girls,” I replied to his question.

“So what are you doing?” I asked giving my attention to him.

“Um, actually I am headed back out of town. We have another project that is hitting design issues. Jason and I are headed to the airport now. That’s one reason why I am calling you. I wanted to tell you and apologize for our dinner plans for tonight.”

“Oh,” I said somberly. My heart sank to my alcohol-filled stomach. I downed my drink and called for another one.

“That’s fine. I’m sure I have something in the refrigerator.”

“I’m sorry. baby. I was really looking forward to this evening.” Alcohol-laced anger and hurt began to speak for me, as a shattered ego was all that was left of my reality.

“Me too, but hey business is important,” I replied.

“What?” His voice sounded quizzical and unsure. “Maya, baby, it’s not like that. I want to be with you, but…”

“I know you can’t. I got it. Have a safe trip.” I hung up the phone before he could respond and downed the rest of my drink. I called Mr. Anderson and advised him that I had a bad headache and was going to finish work at home and that I probably wouldn’t be in tomorrow either. I was feeling some type of way about the turn of events that happened. He told me to take my time he knew I was capable of handling business at home. I advised that Samantha would be back in about forty-five minutes. That conversation ended and our server brought our lunch. We were ensconced in complete silence for the rest of the time at the restaurant. They knew that once I was mad, it was best to leave me alone until I calmed down. Did I open myself up for hurt again? My mind was racing with thoughts and fear of another heartache. I ordered a shot of tequila to steady my nerves.
