Zander opened his hand. The necklace lay across his palm. “I don’t want anyone else. Just you. For the rest of my life.”

She trembled as he fastened the chain around her neck.

“I love you,” she breathed. “More than anything.”

Intense happiness tumbled through him as he threaded his fingers through her hair and drew her forward. Caressing her lips with an achingly sweet kiss, he whispered against her mouth. “Promise you won’t give it back again?”

“Promise.”

“I love you.”

Contentment and belonging wrapped him in warmth. Together, they’d continue to heal the scars that had marred their souls. Side by side, they could face anything. Falling in love with the angel next door was the best thing he’d ever done.

Bronwyn lives in Michigan with her wonderful husband, two amazing sons and three somewhat-psychotic cats. When not tormenting her characters, she can usually be found helping with reading and writing projects in her sons’ classrooms as well as being the car pool mom extraordinaire for seven teens.
