Chapter 35

Blaze and I made our way to the front of the fortress. They were there, but Lord Erebus is wounded. He has a huge gash in his stomach, and is bleeding severely. Even in his demonic form, he’s still not a match for Onyx. “Lord Erebus!” Blaze yelled as he ran towards him.

“Stay away! He’s too powerful. He was right. I am rusty,” Lord Erebus said.

“No, let’s do this. We’re both injured, but we have to bring him down. He’ll kill the rest of the vampires if we don’t,” Blaze said. “Come on, let’s heal up first.”

Lord Erebus nodded. Lord Erebus straighten himself up, and faced Blaze.
They both put their hands on each other’s shoulders. They bowed their heads, and closed their eyes. A dark shield appeared, and covered them both. A snake made out of blood came out of the ground beneath them. It looked like giant cobra. It stood up in between Lord Erebus and Blaze. It turned to Lord Erebus, bared its fangs, and struck at Lord Erebus’s stomach. Lord Erebus looked pained, but he kept his eyes closed, and both hands on Blaze’s shoulders. The cobra remained on Lord Erebus’s stomach for a while before detaching. The wound on Lord Erebus’s stomach is no more.

The cobra turned around, and began striking at Blaze in multiple areas. Blaze kept flinching, but remained with his eyes closed, and hands on Lord Erebus.
Every time the cobra struck Blaze, the wounds went away. The cobra finished, and dove down to the ground. The cobra went away, and so did the shield. Lord Erebus and Blaze let each other go, and opened their eyes. Lord Erebus and Blaze turned to face Onyx.

“Are you guys done? I’m waiting,” Onyx said, irritated.

“Yes, we each went back to fifty percent, and our wounds have been cured,” Lord Erebus said.

“Only fifty percent each? I still have ninety! Both of you will fail, and all that was for nothing!” Onyx said, laughing.

“We are not going to fail. You want to know why? I’m so desperate to kill you that I want to do an all-out attack,” Lord Erebus said.

“Are you sure, Lord Erebus?” Blaze said, eyes fixed on Onyx.

“Yes. I want to end this. I’m going to need your help though. I need you to distract him for a while, and after I do my all-out attack, I need you to do yours,” Lord Erebus said.

“I…will try. You know my all-out attack
is dangerous. I should at least have eighty percent energy to execute it. You’re asking me to do something fatal,” Blaze said.

“Lord Obsidian, I have faith in you. You can do this. You’ve gotten stronger. You’ll be okay. Trust me,” Lord Erebus said.

Blaze stared at Onyx, then he grinned and said, “Let’s kill this bastard!”

“It’s about time!” Onyx said. Onyx
started casting spells like crazy! Blaze was ready for him. He dodged and attacked every spell Onyx threw at him. Onyx tried attacking Lord Erebus, but Blaze wouldn’t let him. Blaze would hit the spell, and destroy it before it hit Lord Erebus.

“You’re doing
great, Blaze. Keep it up, and I’ll be attacking soon,” Lord Erebus said.

Lord Erebus
took a deep breath, and closed his eyes. Lord Erebus lifted up his staff in front of him with both hands. The night sky seemed to darken, and the climate got cold. Lord Erebus’s staff glowed a bright green, and a dark aura formed on Onyx. Onyx didn’t seem to notice. He was too busy attacking Blaze. Lord Erebus raised his staff higher, opened his eyes, and then he slammed the end of the staff on the ground hard. The green glow of the staff seeped into the dirt, and in an instant, a legion of demons came forth from the ground. Thousands of them flew towards Onyx.

“What is this?” Onyx said, panicking.
He took a step back, and started aiming at the demons instead of Blaze now. It’s not possible for him to hit every demon. The demons slashed at Onyx’s barrier until he could no longer use that move. After the barrier could no longer be summoned, Onyx made a shield out of fire. The demons kept attacking him. The fire burned some demons, but they still attacked.

After a few more seconds, the demons retreated back to the ground. Onyx’s body is all scared up. He’s bleeding, and is very weak. He’s using
his staff to lean on as he trying to heal himself with a spell. The spell is taking long, and is only healing him for a little at a time.

“Lord Obsidian!” Lord Erebus yelled.

“Right!” Blaze yelled.

Blaze took his sword, and did something horrifying. He dr
ove his sword into his chest. Blaze flinched, and grunted with agony. Blaze fell to the ground on his knees, but continued holding onto the handle of his sword. He remained like that for a while with his eyes closed. His blood ran down and started forming a small pool on the ground. “Lord Obsidian!” Lord Erebus yelled.

Blaze opened his eyes, stood up, and pulle
d out the sword from his chest. A gigantic dark shadow came forth from Blaze’s chest wound. The shadow is fast! It immediately rushed to Onyx. It struck Onyx down with a single hit, and then it flew up into the sky. I can see it now. It’s a dragon made out of darkness! Onyx tried getting up, but the dragon dove down, and slammed Onyx back into the dirt. The dragon stepped on him with one of his four legs, and breathed black fire right at him. Onyx screamed in pain. His body is burning, and within seconds, there was nothing left. The dragon roared into the night, and flew back into Blaze’s chest.

Blaze collapsed, but he’
s okay. He’s still conscious, and the wound had closed when the dragon entered into his chest. “I don’t think I can do that again. It’ll kill me,” Blaze said, managing a smile.

“Lord Obsidian, you did it. The war is over. When you killed Onyx, his
army disappeared,” Lord Erebus said, kneeling down beside him in his normal form now.

“Good…I avenged my father, and saved everyone. That’s all I wanted…” Blaze said, standing up slowly.

“Are you okay?” I asked.

“Yeah. I think I’m at five percent. I feel so weak,” Blaze replied. “I’ll be fine.”

All the vampires gathered around us. They clapped and cheered at Lord Erebus and Blaze. If it wasn’t for their all-out attacks, we’d all be dead.

Blaze turned to me and said, “May I?”

I didn’t know what he meant by that, but I nodded. I trust him. Blaze neared me, and kissed me in front of everyone. He kept kissing me, and he slowly went down to my neck and bit me. When he finished, he smiled, and said to me in a low whisper, “I love you.”

I blushed, smiled back, and said, “I love you too.”

Blaze kissed me again, and didn’t stop. Not even when everyone around us was cheering at us. He held me tight in his arms, and I loved every minute of it.

Chapter 36

We all rested up. We woke up the next morning around seven, and ate a quick easy breakfast.

All of us went outside when we finished eating. We began picking up everything around the fortress and forest. Everything from g
uns to debris to dead bodies. Lord Erebus said that we can use the debris to make weapons, and the guns we can fix and sell them back to the military. The dead bodies, we could not do much with them, but give them at least a proper burial in our part of the forest. We dug them a place, and buried them all around the trees. We put crosses with their names on them from which we got from their dog tags. We know that many more lives were lost in the war, but we couldn’t find their bodies, or they had gotten destroyed by dark magic. For those bodies, we simply made a huge banner to remember them by, which later we will make a huge wall of stone, and carve out their names when we know them if family members are willing to help out.

We sent out a message to the public by going to the news station. We told them that we are sorry that the war had to happen, and that we did everything we could for the dead soldiers.
We let them know about the graveyard in our part of the forest if they wish to come out later on tonight to see, and to enjoy something special that we have arranged for everyone.

A lot of the vampires and I have been making cupcakes in the kitchen. I was tired. We made so many, and we decorated them as well. We had finished right on time too. When night came, we set out tables out in the back of the fortress. We put the cupcakes out, and let the people that came, eat as many as they liked for free, and with free sodas.

I didn’t expect many people to show up, but they did. Hundreds came to pay respects to their loved ones. People put names on the huge banner for us. They didn’t say anything to us, but weren’t expecting that anyways. They are mourning, and they probably hate us, so I don’t blame them.

Lord Erebus had set up something special for them. A show of fireworks. Nyx and Dar are running around lighting them.
It was beautiful! The people’s faces showed happiness, and some made them cry more, but for a good cause. The fireworks show went on for an hour, and then everyone left.

Chapter 37

The next morning, w
e all sat in the throne room. “We have won the war, so tonight we shall celebrate! Everyone, prepare for the party!” Lord Erebus said.

Everyone cheered, and got up to help out with preparing with the party.
I went to the kitchen, and started baking and cooking with all the vampires there. We spent six hours in the kitchen. We wanted to keep going, but a vampire busted in and said, “Holy smokes! The president of every nation are here!”

What? We all made our way to the throne room, and took a seat. It’s true! All three presidents are here! The one from Glaciem, the one from Paradisus, and the one from Ignis.
“We came here to apologize. We were all forced to attack, and we feared you people when we discovered what you all are. Inferior no longer…fears you as much, and we all appreciate on the stopping Onyx and Zorn,” the president of Paradisus said.

“That’s good to hear! Why don’t you three stay here
for tonight? We are having a party to celebrate our victory soon! Please join us,” Lord Erebus said.

“Are you sure we’re safe here?” the president of Ignis asked.

“Of course! Why wouldn’t it be? I assure you no one will attack you if that’s what you’re worried about?” Lord Erebus said, smiling.

“Well…all right. Just no scary pranks. I get startled easily,” the president of Glaciem said.

Lord Erebus nodded, stood up, and showed the presidents to their rooms. I went back to the kitchen with the other vampires to finish up the food.

Chapter 38

“I want to thank everyone. You all fought your greatest, and you all protected our family. I’m glad that none of us died. That shows that we are strong, and have an unbreakable bond. So enjoy this party, and don’t forget that you are all precious to me,” Lord Erebus said, raising a glass of wine. “Cheers!”

“Cheers!” all of us said, raising our glasses.
We drank, and enjoyed the food.

“Blaze, now that the war is over, and everyone is okay with us, do you still think I’ll be able to go back to school?” I asked.

“Sure. That shouldn’t be a problem now,” Blaze answered.

“Good. I’ve already missed out so much. Also, why are we all eating outside?” I asked him. As soon as I said that, loud popping sounds popped above us. More fireworks!

“For that,” Blaze said.

All the tables have been put outside, and we are all eating under the moon. Including the three presidents. “Lord Obsidian, we saw that you have our weapons piled outside of the entrance of the fortress. What are you planning to do with them?”
the president of Paradisus said.

“We plan on fixing them, and selling them back
to the military. Unless they work fine, then those will be gifted back. We don’t need them, and we wouldn’t want to sell them to the public. Why?” Blaze asked them.

Oh good! For a minute there I thought you were going to sell them to the public! What of the debris, like from the jets and tanks?” the president of Ignis said.

“We are going to recycle them into weapons. That metal is strong, and we can use that to make beautiful
, sturdy weapons, or handguns,” Blaze replied. “Why? Do you need them?”

“Oh no! That seems fine,” the president of Glaciem said.
“We’ll be seeing you guys later. I must say, you all are very like us. You are not that different. Enjoy the night.”

The three presidents got up from
the table, and entered the fortress to get a night’s rest. This has been a good day, and the night is even better.

“Starr, I’m so glad that I met you. You helped us all, including myself. I thank you,” Blaze said, standing up and offering me a hand.

I took his hand, and we walked to his garden. Blaze picked a fresh purple passion flower. He put it in my hair, and caressed my face. “Starr, I want you to be mine. I love you, and I want us to be together forever,” Blaze said.

“Blaze, I love you too, but are sure you want me?” I said.

“I wouldn’t want anyone else. We’ve got an eternity together, so age doesn’t matter,” Blaze said.

I smiled, and tears of joy ran down my cheeks. “Of course I’ll be yours, Blaze,” I said.

Blaze and I kissed, and went back to the party. We enjoyed the moon, the stars, and the fireworks. This is what I’ve always wanted. To be accepted by everyone, and to be loved by someone.
