Slowly nodding my head, I whisper, “I have never been more sure of anything. I think I’ve been waiting for you all my life.” I say the heartfelt words with closed eyes, running my hand across his slightly stubbled cheek. He places a trembling hand over mine before he removes our hands from his cheek, turning my palm towards his lips where he proceeds to place the most tender kiss against it.

Inching his body down over mine, he hovers for a moment, telling me over and over again how much he loves me. I’ve never felt so cherished.

I feel the pressure as he gently nudges against my entrance, my body humming with anticipation. I’d gone on the pill a month ago, and we’d both been given a clean bill of health by our doctors which meant that there would be no need to worry about spontaneity or condoms. Slowly he pushes inside of me, my body slick with desire and ready to accept every glorious inch of him. He pushes in further as my body instinctively pulls him deeper, craving all of him. I can’t explain the intensity I feel as we make the most intimate connection a man and woman can make.

We’re connected.

We are one and I never want to let him go.

He starts to move, slowly at first. I run my hands carefully down the muscles of his shoulders, then down his strong, toned back, feeling each and every muscle tense and release as his body rises and falls above my body. He leans his head to kiss my neck as I grasp his perfectly toned ass, digging my fingers into his firm cheeks, squeezing and pulling him closer into me.

He picks up the pace, and the feeling of him inside me, stroking me so intimately, is intense. Soon I feel the pressure of my release getting closer and I begin to pant. I wrap my legs around his waist, drawing him even deeper. I’m so close to orgasm. The intensity of the emotion I feel as we make love sends tears to my eyes.

“Hey, why are you crying? Am I hurting you?” he asks as he slows his thrusts.

I shake my head, feeling ridiculous. I don’t want him to know the reason I’m crying is because I finally know what its like to be truly loved by a man. Matt never once made love to me like this. Not that he didn’t love me, but our relationship was never this emotional or intense. “Then why are you crying?”

I look up into his worried face. “Because my heart is so unbelievably full right now. I love you so much that I can’t even put it into words. Please, never leave me. I couldn’t bear it if I lost you, I—”

Placing a finger against my lips he tries to calm me. “Shhh. I’m not going anywhere …ever.”

We make slow and gentle love over and over again until we’re both spent and our souls become one, solidifying a bond that I pray will last us a lifetime.

OUR ROOM IS gloriously brightened by the sun shining through the curtains. I roll over, waking myself up. It must be late because the sun seems so bright. I roll onto my opposite side and eye the incredibly sexy man sleeping so peacefully beside me. I still can’t believe Tyler and I made love last night.

Sweet.

Sensual.

Passionate.

Matt is the only man I’ve ever been with besides Tyler, and as much as we loved each other, he never once made love to me the way Tyler did last night. His lovemaking was usually rushed, and he rarely took care of my needs first. Tyler wasn’t lying when he said he would worship my body because that’s exactly what he did all night long.

Every passionate kiss…

Every sensual touch…

Mmmmmm…I just want to stay in bed and relive every delicious moment over and over again in my mind.

I roll over and look at the alarm clock, realizing it’s only six o’clock in the morning.
Why am I awake?
Not wanting to disturb Tyler or Charlie, who is nestled up snug against him, I decide to throw on some shorts and a T-shirt, make a quick cup of coffee, then head out to the beach. Thank god for those pod coffee makers. There is nothing like a beautiful morning on a beach with a hot cup of coffee to lose yourself in your thoughts. I quietly slip out the sliding door and walk barefoot in the cool morning sand. It really is breathtaking here. I find a perfect spot in front of a large piece of dried-out driftwood.

Staring out at the ocean, I replay the events of last night over again in my head. Suddenly, I’m pulled from my daydream as I catch sight of a man running towards me.

Terror.

My flight response kicks in as every cell in my body jumps to attention, like I should try to get away, but he’s getting too close for me to get up and run. The man continues to run, getting closer towards me when I catch a quick glimpse of his face. Something about him looks familiar. He runs past me, turning his head in my direction as he alluringly winks, then keeps running. I can’t shake the feeling that I know him from somewhere.

Without warning, I feel a warm hand on my cool shoulders and I drop the coffee mug that was resting on my knee.

“Good morning, beautiful.” He leans down and kisses the top of my head. I angrily turn around and punch him in the arm.

“Tyler, you ass…you scared the shit out of me!”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. I woke up and you weren’t there, and when I smelled the coffee and couldn’t find you I had a feeling you’d be out here. Beautiful morning, isn’t it?”

I feel like a bitch. I realize he didn’t mean to scare me, but I was already spooked from the stranger on the beach. He sits down behind me, his back against the driftwood, and a familiar surge of sexual energy pulls me back against his body. As he wraps his arms around my shoulders, I lie my head back against him. Again, he kisses my head sweetly. A girl could really get used to this.

“Last night was incredible.”

He’s right, it really was. So much more than sex.

It was romance…

It was intimacy…

Turning my cheek with his hand and making me look back at him, he takes my hand and entwining our fingers as his thumb gently strokes my knuckles.

“I love you.” I drop my head back against his chest and close my eyes. I know exactly how he feels at this moment because I feel it too. “Look at me.” I oblige, turning back to look into his ice blues. “I’ve never felt this way about a woman. Last night only solidified my feeling for you, and I know that I want to spend the rest of my life showing you how much I love you.”

He wants to spend the rest of his life showing me?

Is he proposing?

“What exactly do you mean?” I nervously ask, not wanting to spoil the mood.

“Relax. I’m not proposing if that’s what you’re worried about…well, not right now any way. I just want you to know where I’m coming from. That I love you, and I’m in this for the long haul.”

My body relaxes and I turn to face him. “I love you too. I’m not against marriage, just not yet. I want to enjoy being us without any pressure.”

Just as he’s about to lean in and kiss me, the jogger from earlier comes running up to us. He pulls away quickly, getting up from where he was sitting with me in his arms. I notice the quick change in his body language. He seems tense…rigid. Gone is the relaxed man who only moments ago had his arms wrapped lovingly around me. If I was judging his mood by his stance I would say he was ready for a fight. What’s going on?

The stranger casually jogs up to Tyler, stops and holds out his hand. “Good to see you, brother. Devon said you were staying here with a friend.” He eyes me slyly up and down, still holding his hand out to Tyler who doesn’t accept it. In fact, he looks like he’s about ready to punch his brother in the face.

“What the fuck do you want, Ethan?” he angrily questions, but Ethan seems unaffected as he stands grinning like a cheshire cat.

“I don’t want anything other than to say hello to my kid brother. It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”

“You know exactly why —”

Ethan drops his hand and turns away from Tyler, ignoring him as he walks in my directions. “And who exactly do we have here? You know, you look vaguely familiar to me. Have we met before?” he questions, his brow cocked while slowly stroking his chin between his thumb and forefinger.

The look on his face makes my skin crawl. Noticing the uncomfortable shift in my body language, Tyler quickly appears by my side.

“I’ve got nothing more to say to you. If you don’t mind,
my
girlfriend and I have to be going.” He offers me his hand and I gladly accept it.

I can’t wait to get away from his brother.

OUR TIME AT the beach has been incredible. Spending time really getting to know each other was exactly what we needed. We fill our days with long walks along the beach and our evenings making passionate love. I never knew love could be like this.

We only have a few more days left and the thought of leaving the beach house breaks my heart. I know this place is special to Tyler, but now it’s just as special to me because this is where I officially fell head over heels in love with him.

We’ve run into Ethan and Devon a few times on the beach since we aren’t staying very far from Devon’s parents’ place. She makes my blood boil the way she blatantly flirts with Tyler in front of me and barely acknowledges my presence. Really, it suits me fine that she doesn’t give me the time of day but geez, lady, get some morals and stop coming onto my boyfriend while I’m standing right there.

UGH!

I brought it up to Tyler who told me not to worry because he’s
“not the least bit interested in the gold digging whore who’s sleeping with my brother and anyone else that might spend a dime on her slutty sorry ass.”

His words.

Not mine.

I don’t understand Devon’s relationship with Ethan. I mean, if you aren’t really together, why take a summer holiday together? On the few occasions we’ve run into them, Devon has shamelessly hit on Tyler while Ethan has blatantly undressed me with his eyes.

Ewwww.

Seriously, sometimes I feel like I need a shower after his eyes have roamed all over me. I know there’s no love lost between Ty and Ethan but I still feel awkward bringing it up. After all, pig or not, Ethan is still his blood.

Luckily we’ve been able to come up with excuses to get away from them, except for tonight. Tyler’s mom called last night after getting a phone call from Ethan. She’d said Ethan had called her all surprised and happy because he ran into Tyler here on the beach. He said it must have been a sign and that he wanted to try and mend the relationship he’d damaged. Kelly begged and guilt tripped Tyler into having dinner with his brother, telling him maybe they were to thank because he never would have met me if they hadn’t gotten together. It was a couple of hours and it would make his mom happy. Plus, we wouldn’t have to see them again.
