“Girl, I ain't thinkin' about Quann's ass. I heard he fuckin' some bitch named Trenity who lives over on the north,” Ja'Nay said, shaking her head, knowing she should be used to Quann's cheating ass.
“Are you surprised?”
“Not at all.” Ja'Nay sighed. “I just hope that bitch hold him down when he go turn himself in to do them two years he's facin'.”
“What? I thought that dopefiend told the prosecutors the dope belonged to him,” Kylee stated.
“Girl, he did. That was until they told his ass he was goin' to jail; then his ass recanted his story and started singin' like Jodeci. He told 'em everything,” Ja'Nay said.
“See, I told you niggas will tell on their own mama.”
“You did say it. Oh well, finish eatin'.”
“Okay, call me if you need to talk,” Kylee said, feeling bad for her friend, knowing she was hurt even though she was mad at Quann for the moment. With the right choice of words, Ja'Nay would be right back in Quann's corner just like always.
“Okay, I will, and don't forget to get all your paperwork turned in tomorrow,” Ja'Nay said.
“I got'chu,” Kylee assured her.
“All right. Oh, before I go, I'reon said we goin' to the mall tomorrow around one,” Ja'Nay said.
“Oh, okay, cool,” Kylee said. It had been a minute since she'd hung out with her friends; going to the mall was something she was looking forward to doing.
“Talk to you later,” Ja'Nay said before hanging up.
Kylee finished up her meal and cleaned up the kitchen before going upstairs to watch the game with Eli.
Chapter Sixteen
Kylee woke up the next morning and rolled over to an empty bed. She wiped her eyes before looking over at the clock. It was past eleven o'clock when she woke up. Eli was really wearing her out. After the game went off the night before, Eli rewarded Kylee with some more good loving for not pestering him while the game was on. She climbed her sore, naked body out of bed and headed downstairs to get something to drink. Lying on the counter was a note and a stack of money. Kylee picked the note up and read it.
Here is some grocery money and money for rent and bills. I'll see you when I get off work.
Love, Eli
“Love?” Kylee held the letter up to her chest. “I love you too.” She smiled happily before picking the money up and counting it. “A thousand dollars, wow. And I didn't have to do some foul shit to get it.”
Kylee poured herself a glass of orange juice before heading back upstairs to get dressed so she could meet her girls at the mall. After deciding on a simple yellow Tommy Girl polo tee, a pair of Roxy jean shorts, and some Roxy flip-flops, Kylee headed to the bathroom to shower. After getting dressed, she was ready to meet up with her girls. She called Ja'Nay and told her to be ready. Kylee grabbed her brown and yellow cross-body Dooney & Bourke satchel and headed out the door. She was surprised to see her car shining like new money. Eli must have detailed it while she was asleep. Kylee smiled and headed down the walk.
“Evan took your car to the carwash this mornin',” Mr. Vernon yelled from his front porch. “He done a good job, didn't he?”
Kylee came to terms that, no matter what, Mr. Vernon was never going to mind his business. She just had to suck it up and deal with it.
“He sure did,” Kylee said happily, hitting the unlock button on her keychain. The scent of fresh linen poured out when she opened the car door.
Kylee started up the car and pulled off. She turned to an old-school station on the satellite radio. She began dancing in her seat as Foxy Brown's “Get Me Home” came on. The music had Kylee in a zone and she didn't even realize she'd started speeding. Without warning a police car pulled out from behind a billboard.
“Shit,” Kylee said, seeing the flashing lights in her rearview mirror. Kylee pulled over to the side of the road. She was glad to see that it was a man instead of woman getting out of the cruiser. The women always gave her a ticket; she could always play the damsel in distress when it came to the men. Kylee quickly pulled her shirt so her cleavage could be seen and pulled her shorts up, showing her thighs. The tall, dark officer walked up to the passenger's side of the car.
“What's the problem, Officer?” Kylee asked, rolling down the window.
“Do you know how fast you were goin'?” he asked sternly.
“Honestly, no, I don't. Was I speedin'?” she asked, batting her eyes.
“You were doin' fifty in a twenty-five,” he stated.
“I was?” Kylee asked, surprised, thinking she was going much faster than that.
“Yes, you were,” the officer replied. “License and registration.”
“Ummm, what's your name?” Kylee asked.
“Officer is good enough,” he stated smartly.
This was not going to be as easy as Kylee thought. This guy was a straight prick. She had to think fast to get herself out of this ticket.
“I really didn't know I was speedin',” she said, digging in her purse, handing him her license. “I just caught my boyfriend in bed wit' my best friend and now I don't know what I'm gon' do. It's his house and I have no place to go.” Tears filled Kylee's eyes as she leaned over and pulled her registration out of the glove compartment, handing it to the officer. “I have no family here. I'm fucked!”
“Sorry to hear that,” the officer said as his demeanor softened. “You eighteen, huh?” the officer asked, looking at Kylee's birth date on her license.
“Yes.” She sniffed.
“You can always go stay in a shelter until you find somewhere to go.”
“I'll probably just sleep in my car,” Kylee said.
“It's too dangerous for a pretty little lady like you to sleep in yo' car,” the officer said.
“Well, what am I supposed to do?” Kylee asked as the fake tears flowed.
The officer's eyes zoned in on Kylee's ta-tas as he spoke. “Look, I normally wouldn't do this. But you seem nice enough. Why don't you meet me at my house and we will try to see what we can come up with?” he offered.
“You would do that for me?” Kylee asked happily.
“Yeah, but you have to keep it between us,” he said.
“I won't tell anybody, I promise.” Kylee smiled.
“Let me write down my address. I get off work at five, just meet me there,” he said, handing Kylee's license and registration back.
“Wow, you are so nice,” Kylee said.
“That's what I'm here for, to protect and serve,” he replied with more than just doing his job on his mind. The officer pulled out his ticket book and wrote his address on the back of one of the tickets and handed it to Kylee.
“You said five right?” Kylee asked, taking the piece of paper from his hand.
“Yep. Five,” he answered.
“So what am I supposed to do until then? I don't have nowhere to go or nothin' to do,” she said.
The officer pulled his wallet out of his back pocket, opened it up, and handed Kylee a fifty dollar bill. “Take yourself to lunch and a movie,” he said.
Kylee took the money from his hand. “Wow, thank you so much.”
“No problem. Okay, I have to go. I got another call comin' in and I'll see you at five,” the officer said, tipping his hat.
“I can't wait.” Kylee smiled, biting down on her bottom lip and hitting him with the sexy drunk look.
The officer's dick started to get hard. “And I can't either.” He smirked.
I'ma fuck the shit outta that young bitch, then put her out my house,
the officer thought anxiously as he walked away.
Kylee watched as the officer walked back to his cruiser and got in. He smiled and blew the horn as he drove past her.
Kylee smiled and waved back before balling up his address and tossing it out the window. “Dumb ass,” she said, pulling off.
Kylee and Ja'Nay laughed about how Kylee played the officer as they pulled up in the mall's parking lot.
“Bitch, I gotta give it to you, you got a cold mouthpiece,” Ja'Nay said, giving her girl props.
“I do don't I?” Kylee agreed.
Kylee and Ja'Nay got out of the car and headed into the mall. They spotted I'reon sitting in the food court, talking on her cell phone. I'reon smiled and waved as they walked toward her.

Te extrano,
” I'reon cooed.
“She must be talkin' to Enrique Iglesias,” Kylee joked.
I'reon made a funny face at Kylee and Ja'Nay. “
Si, te amo. Adios,
” I'reon said, hanging up her phone.
“You need to cut all that lovey-dovey gay shit out,” Kylee joked, taking a seat at the table.
“Oh, bitch, you got a lotta nerve. As much as I gotta hear about Eli and how he be puttin' in work.” I'reon laughed.
“Who you tellin',” Ja'Nay said, taking a seat as well.
“Do I really talk about Eli a lot?” Kylee asked, not aware of how much she really did talk about Eli to her girls.
“Yes,” Ja'Nay and I'reon said simultaneously.
“Oh, my bad.” Kylee laughed.
“It's okay, girl, as long as you happy,” I'reon said sincerely.
“Bitch, you bet' not open yo' mouth,” Kylee said, looking over at Ja'Nay before she could open her mouth to talk about how wrong she was for messing with a married man.
Ja'Nay threw her hands up. “Hey, I don't got shit to say. If you like it, I love it,” she said.
“Good. Now let's go spend some money.” Kylee laughed.
“Wait, I got somethin' to tell y'all,” I'reon said, smiling.
“Is it good news or bad news?” Ja'Nay asked.
“It's good news; well, at least it is for me,” she replied.
“Let me guess. You pregnant by Shawn. Oh, wait, that's impossible being that she's a bitch too,” Kylee joked.
Ja'Nay and I'reon both laughed.
“Whatever, heffa,” I'reon said. “Anyways, no, I'm not pregnant.”
“Well what's the good news?” Ja'Nay asked.
“I'm movin',” I'reon blurted out.
“Where you movin' to? Let me decorate for you,” Kylee said, smiling.
“I would love for you to decorate my place for me. Are you willin' to fly to Spain to do so?” I'reon asked.
“Spain?” Ja'Nay asked, surprised.
“Spain?” Kylee repeated, surprised as well.
“Yes, Spain,” I'reon replied.
“Wait a minute, bitch. You movin' back to Spain?” Kylee asked again, just to make sure she heard right.
“Yes.” I'reon smiled.
“Why?” Kylee asked.
“Shawn doesn't like America. She can't adjust to our ways.”
“So you willin' to just pick up and leave your family for a piece of pussy?” Kylee asked, thinking about how it sounded after saying it.
Ja'Nay and I'reon both frowned.
“I know, that didn't sound right, did it?” Kylee asked, laughing.
“No, it sounded nasty.” I'reon laughed too.
“Well, it's the truth,” Kylee said.
“True,” Ja'Nay added.
“I can't believe you're leavin' 'cause Shawn can't adjust to our ways. It's a million illegal immigrants over here in America. Just call a 1-800 number and you'll see what the fuck I'm talkin' about,” Kylee said, not feeling the fact that her god-sister was leaving her again, but this time it was by choice.
I'reon and Ja'Nay laughed.
“So when you leavin'?” Kylee asked, hurt, but trying not to show it.
“Next week,” I'reon replied.
“Next week?” Ja'Nay and Kylee both shouted.
“Shhhhh.” I'reon laughed, looking around.
“Why so soon?” Kylee asked.
“'Cause I miss Shawn.”
“You must really like this broad,” Kylee said, shaking her head, still not able to grasp the fact that her god-sister was in love with a woman.
“I do love Shawn. It ain't no different than bein' in love wit' a man,” I'reon stated.
“There's a big difference. A man is born wit' a dick; no matter how big or small, he still came into the world wit' it. Shawn has to strap hers on,” Kylee stated smartly.
I'reon and Ja'Nay laughed.
“You so nasty.” I'reon smiled.
“What did your parents say about all this?” Ja'Nay asked.
“They both think me goin' back to Spain is a good idea,” I'reon replied. “And just think, if I get homesick, I can always come back.”
“Yeah, true,” Ja'Nay said.
“I'll be home every holiday and y'all can fly over to see me on spring break and during the summer,” I'reon said.
“That's true,” Kylee agreed, still not feeling the news of I'reon moving, but trying to sound supportive at the same time.
I'reon stood up from her chair. “Y'all ready to go spend some money?”
“You know I am,” Kylee said, throwing her satchel strap over her body and standing up too.
“Let's do this,” Ja'Nay said, standing up.
The three friends walked out of the food court laughing and talking like old times. Kylee knew she had to get used to I'reon being gone all over again. She just hoped it didn't hurt as bad as the first time had. Knowing she had Eli to help occupy her time might make I'reon leaving again much easier.
