He knew that the king of this mountain would not be an easy opponent but these gargantuan flying lemurs had too much of a terrain advantage.

Ridiculous plans like flooding the summit or surrounding the entire summit with a transmutation casting circle came to his head but he knew that all those would be useless.

Where could he get the water to flood them? They also had the tall trees to begin with. The huge casting circle would require a tremendous amount of time and mana, well beyond his capacity.

It appeared that 'hit and run' was his only option of attack. The next day after re-enhancing his arrows and weapon. Smoke went out to climb the other side of the summit. He had hoped that there would be other caves similar to this one.

Fortunately for him there were dozens of caves on the other sides of the wall. He started looking for good caves to turn into great hiding spots. Only the first cave had a decent size. The rest of them were only about 4 feet in height or less.

He settled for the ones where he could hide his entire body completely. He toiled on for the next three days transforming the smaller caves into life-saving hiding spots.

Now, that he had eight caves that surrounded the whole mountain. Smoke went to the opposite side of the tallest tree.

Thinking that the tallest tree was Cologus' home, he thought it would be best to stay away from it. He did the same presence check and felt nothing. Using his ability 'Telefax Vision' he scanned the tree tops to look for his prey.

He found a gargantuan flying lemur lazing about its tree. He thought that with his powersaw composite bow, transmuted arrows and his 'Telefax Vision' he could hit the beast from where he was.

The distance was about 500 meters away. He realized that this was the same distance that Sharur and Jinggu used to display their Range Sieger prowess.

All eight arrows were released and traveled for quite some time. Smoke kept his guard up but continued to use his 'Telefax Vision' to see whether he would hit his target or not.

Amazingly, all eight arrows made it to their destination. The gargantuan flying lemur was puzzled and started to look around for its attacker.

These monsters were so used to being on top of the food chain that they didn't react well when they are attacked.

Smoke released another set of arrows and kept watching them. Sadly, this time none of his arrows hit their intended mark. The gargantuan flying lemur had already spotted him and was coming straight at him.

He was happy that the beast didn't think to call for reinforcements and awaited for its stunning landing gladly. The gargantuan flying lemur landed as expected and was slaughtered by Smoke and Igniz.

Smoke kept attacking the gargantuan flying lemurs from a safe distance. After he had killed four of them he had gained a level. Immediately he placed all of it into Intelligence. He was still far off from his desired amount.

Sensing that the gargantuan flying lemurs had caught on to his surprise attack. Smoke immediately retreated before the party of revenging monsters came looking for him.

Resting for at least thirty minutes, Smoke would transfer to another side of the crest after he did his usual check up on his items and equipment.

For the next couple of days, Smoke's hit and run strategy was a success. He had killed a total of fifty gargantuan flying lemurs earning him two more levels. He now had a level of 84.

Feeling that things were running too smoothly, Smoke started making dummies out of the left over components from making his spherical shield.

He started on his usual routine and climbed to the top of the wall when he immediately felt the presence of five gargantuan flying lemurs.

They had set up some sort of sentry system. Smoke proceeded to another side and found the same thing. He thought that if they were ready for him he might as well attack the big boss.

Settling in his first and biggest safe-house, Smoke started preparations for his fight against Cologus. He knew that he would eventually fight the monster, he just wished that he had gained the 'Earth Manipulation' ability before their fight.

His Earth affinity was already at 45%, just 5% more and three levels more and he would have been able to use his desired ability tome.

He readied himself for the climb. He took note that most monster boss mobs have three times or five times the HP of their normal minions.

Thinking of the worst case scenario, this would make Cologus' life well beyond 400,000 HP. He was praying that it would be far lesser than this.

Smoke brought one of his dummies and brought it to right side of Cologus' tree. It was about a hundred meters away from where Smoke first met the gargantuan boss.

He asked Igniz to hold the dummy and to wait for his signal before lifting the dummy up. Smoke returned to his original spot.

After giving the signal to Igniz. The dark ember sprite threw the dummy up. Immediately, the five gargantuan flying lemurs attacked the dummy.

The dummy exploded, damaging the five sentries for 20,000 points each. Smoke came out from behind them and unleashed his torrent of arrows.

Since their backs were exposed, Smoke got the bonus damage from the back attack. As they turned to face him. Igniz came out from where he threw the dummy and encased them in his fire cage. Once he completed that he released a firewall inside the cage and attacked them with a series of fireballs.

This was the winning pattern that Smoke came up with these past few days. He continued his onslaught of arrows and killed all five sentries.

Just as he finished off the guards. Cologus came diving down straight at him. Smoke managed to escape the monsters stunning landing.

Reflexively, Smoke hit Cologus with all eight arrows. Finally revealing the boss' life (226,400/240,000 HP). Smoke was overjoyed to see that it only had 240,000 max HP.

Following the same pattern, Igniz created his fire cage and firewall over Cologus. The monster did take some damage but it dispensed Igniz's fire cage with four wind slashes.

Knowing that every second counted, Smoke continued on attacking Cologus with his arrows while it was still trapped inside the cage. Even if it was only for two seconds, Smoke still managed to do some damage during that time.

Cologus was now free. It torpedoed itself towards Smoke. In response, Smoke switched to his green dual knives and got readied to be tackled.

Inches from Cologus' claws, Smoke managed to dodge to the left and attack Cologus with the paralysis from his green knife. The monster felt the numbness spreading to its left arm.

Igniz continued on shooting fireballs from the back causing as much distraction as possible. Despite this, Cologus didn't loose its focus on Smoke.

Cologus released a series of wind slashes, making Smoke jump to its side and eventually reaching his back. He mounted the monster boss and started slashing with all his might.

He only managed to do sixteen slashes in, when Cologus took to the skies. Smoke jumped off immediately. He was afraid to fall from such a height.

The monster was now burned, poisoned, and slightly paralyzed but its lifebar indicated that it still had (201,400/240,000 HP) remaining.

Smoke tried shooting at him from the ground while Cologus continued his wind slashes. Their ranged attacks ended with both of them missing their targets.

They both knew that they needed to kill each other face to face. Cologus hid its wings to the side and headed straight towards Smoke.

Smoke smiled as he saw the same attack. He readied himself for Cologus to land. Cologus was now just a few feet from the ground. Smoke jumped further back and released his arrows and hit nothing but air.

Cologus stopped his dive in midair and was now directly above him. He was too focus on the chance to attack Cologus that he forgot to check its actual location.

Smoke was about to get stunned when Igniz rushed himself towards Cologus, somehow, managing to knock the monster boss a few inches away.

Cologus' stunning dive was disrupted and Smoke didn't miss this chance to attack the unbalanced Cologus. Another series of arrows hit the monster's body.

The monster pretended that it wasn't hurt by Smoke's attack and pushed on towards him. Smoke switched back to his green dual knives. But this time Cologus managed to grab a hold of him and started to attack him with its claws.

Miraculously, Smoke managed to escape the Cologus' death grip. Smoke's series of hits from his Virile knife added some more paralysis effect on the beast.

Smoke's lifebar was now only (22,550/38,550 HP). He made a mad dash towards the edge of the cliff while Igniz continued on attacking Cologus.

Diving for dear life, Smoke leapt off the cliff without hesitation. Cologus saw the flightless intruder jump and gave chase.

Igniz continued to attack Cologus, in hopes of trying to slow the monster down. Finally, a fireball to the back of Cologus' head did it.

Cologus stopped and went after Igniz. The monster released a series of wind slashes at the dark ember sprite. Igniz backed away and easily dodged the incoming attacks.

Cologus shook its head. The dark ember sprite was too small of a target. It decided to continue hunting for Smoke. It spread its wings and dove after him.

Smoke was still sliding down from the wall as he was still a few feet away from his safe-house. Cologus saw this and attacked him. Smoke's acrobatic practice on the wall was tested. He managed to dodge most of the wind slashes.

As he stood at the entrance of his safe-house, Cologus released a wind slash forcing Smoke into his cave. He received a back attack penalty from that wind slash.

The gargantuan boss sniggered. It dove in after Smoke and found a clumped up body down on the farthest wall of the cave.

Cologus used its stunning landing attack and hit the clumped up mass. BOOM! The dummy exploded, damaging Cologus for 40,000 points. The blast was so big that the cave started to shake and looked like it was about to cave in.

Smoke was actually hiding on the ceiling near the entrance. After the dummy detonated, Smoke went down and expanded his spherical bladed shield. It was just big enough to cover the whole cave and somehow managed to stabilize the cave's interior.

Igniz then created his fire cage and firewall on Cologus. With his spherical shield in place, Smoke started his deluge of arrows on Cologus while Igniz started his series of fireballs.

Cologus continued to take damage from the storm of arrows and fireballs. It tried attacking the spherical shield but flinched once it received the return damage.

Seeing as there was no other way, the gargantuan boss continued on slashing the spherical shield with its claws. There wasn't enough room for it to use its wings to create the wind slash attack.

It was a race to see which would break first. Smoke's spherical shield or Cologus' life. Because of the poisoned, burned, and paralyzed statuses. The gargantuan boss was at the loosing end in this tug of war.

The lifebar of Cologus continued to go down as Smoke and Igniz relentlessly attacked it. Their boss battle inside the cave lasted only ten minutes.

Cologus' lifebar was depleted before it could break Smoke's spherical shield.
