A man jumped out of one of the vehicles, and walked over to John and Paul.
Cpl. Frank said I would like you to meet Col. Anders he is why the president was
saved along with everyone else. Col. Anders was also the one that had a team that
stayed back just far enough that we did not see them come up from behind.
Capt. Johnson saluted the Col. Anders and said I relieve command to you sir.
Col. Anders said I do not like your command and I am pretty sure that when the
president sees what you guys have done here he will promote you.
Paul said that would be nice but since we have been here we have not been using
military protocol.

Dr. Dave came out so that the president Jim Clark will be just fine he will just need a
few days of rest. I have passed him up and he will survive. For the First Lady we got
her bandaged up and she should be fined as well. Dr. Dave told us that their wounds
looked worse than what they were. I am now going to check on my PA to see how she’s
doing.
Paul and the Col. asked if they could go see the president?
Dr. Dave told them that they could only be in there for about 10 minutes, and then
they need to leave to let him rest.
Paul and the Col. went into see the president John stayed outside the door and waited
for them. Three minutes later Paul stuck his head out and told John that the president
wanted to see him. John walked into the room and said hello Mr. Pres. the president
looks John up and down.
The president looks John right in the eyes and says I hear you’re the one that started
all this here.
John replied I may have started it but without Capt. Johnson and his men we would
have not gotten this far. My people owe Capt. Johnson and his men a lot.
Paul spoke up and said look when we came in here I had people that were hurt and
starving you and your people took us in as we were one of you all. You and your
people owe me nothing I thank my men and I owe you.
The president looked at both of them and told them both to shut up that it is I and my
people owe you. We are going to rebuild everything starting from here with just not
me, but with everybody out there are the ones that are going to make this world better.
Dr. Dave walked in and said it was time to go the president needs his rest.

Paul the Col. and I all headed over to the fire department. We told the Col. that we
thought we would use this as a temporary White House.
The Col. looked at us and said that this will do as a temporary White House. He told
us to take him inside the new White House and show him around.
We walked in the new White House showed him that it has power and the plumbing
still working. We walked into the next room and told him that we were almost finished
with the president’s office.
The Col. looked very impressed, and said you boys can do a lot more than what you
have done already. The Col. said that with him and his men and with us we will make
this place the best place ever.

We were walking around in the new White House showing the Col. everything my
wife radioed me and asked me how everything was going? I radioed back and told her
everything was just fine and that I met the president. I also told her that I even talked
with the president until Dr. Dave kicked us out and told us the president needed his
rest.
The Col. asked us if that’s how we communicated around here?
Paul told him that is exactly how we communicate, but we have a man working on
trying to get the phones working. The man we have working on it said that he should
be able to get the phones working in all the buildings that are fenced in.

My wife wanted to know where I was. I told her that we were at the new White
House better known as the old firehouse. She told me that she was on her way that she
was bringing Kelly, Sabrina, and Sam. I told her that it would be fine and that I would
like them to meet the Col.
The Col. asked if we had an airport close by?
John spoke up and said that there was one in the town of painted post.
The Col. said that he was a pilot and that he was looking for an airplane. He pointed
out the window to the bridge that we have blocked off and said that he could use that
bridge as a runway.
Paul told him that we have that bridge blocked off, because zombies keep coming from
the city of Corning. He told the Col. that we haven’t had the time or enough trained
men or women to clear the city so that we could take it over.
The Col. said that between his man and Paul’s man and anyone that would like to join
me could teach them how to take out the zombies and take over the city.
Paul told the Col. that we were just getting ready to train people we even had a plan to
train the children with pellet and BB guns on how to shoot. Using those will save on
our ammo.
The Col. said that he loved that idea, and now that I am here we will get it done within
the next few days. He also said that he needed one of us to take him to the small
airport so that he could get an airplane or helicopter if they have one.

John said that the helicopter would be smarter to get than an airplane because you
would need a runway.
The Col. said that you could only fit a handful of people in a helicopter you can at
least two hands full of people and airplane.
John told him that if we could find a helicopter that he would like the Col. to teach
them how to apply it?
The Col. told him that if we can find a helicopter he would be happy to train him.
Paul said well hell if you’re training him how to fly a helicopter and you can also
teach me how to fly one also.
The Col. said that he would teach us both how to fly a helicopter as soon as we could
find one.

My wife and the others showed up and John introduced them to the Col. John said
that the president was in the medical clinic resting.
Kelly said that they took the food to everyone that they were happy to see it.
The Col. said that some of those people haven’t even eaten in three or four days.
Kelly asked the Col. if he would like something to eat?
The Col. told her yes I would ma’am just lead me to the food.
She said well then sir follow me and I will need you to our dining hall.

We all walked over to the dining hall, as we were all hungry as well. We talked to the
Col. as we were walking to get something to eat. We were showing the Col. everything
as we walk to the dining hall. My wife Mia told him that we have animals and a
garden out behind the school.
As we walked into the dining hall the Col. could smell the tomato soup and grilled
cheese that was cooking.
The Col. said that after eating MREs for the past few weeks was making him lose a lot
of weight. He said that the tomato soup and grilled cheese he hasn’t had since he was
a boy. The Col. asked if we like this all the time.
We told him that we cleared out the W-Mart and the hardware store to get everything
we have here. We also said that we also found a farm and got chickens, cows, horses,
and we now also have a few sheep. We told him that the garden has corn, tomatoes,
cucumbers, carrots, radishes, peas, green beans, and a few other things.

The Col. was impressed and said that when the president was able to get around that
he would also why to show him around. He said that the president will also be
impressed with everything that you all have done.
We told the Col. that our community is the best everyone pitches in and helps.
The Col. said that now we have even more people that will help with whatever needs to
be done. He said that the president would make sure that everyone would pitched in.
He also said the president would also be right there helping right beside everyone. The
president is one of those people that will get right in there and help do it rather than
standing there telling people to do it.
We said that the president wouldn’t have to do stuff like that, he just needs to tell us
what needs to be done and will do it.
The Col. saidthe present is it that way he’d rather be hands-on then just stand
around. The president’s motto is that no one needs to stand around and tell people
what to do. He’d rather get in there and show them that if he can do it they can do it.
The Col. said that everyone will have a job to do so that we can rebuild this world
better than it ever was. The president will make sure as well you guys and myself will
be right there working with them.

The next few weeks the president was finally out of bed and getting around. Paul the
Col. myself took the president to the old fire hall and told him welcome to the new
temporary White House. We took him inside and showed him around. The president
was impressed he said that this office was better than the oval office.
The president asked us how we were stocked up on food and other supplies?
John told the president that we have enough food for everyone here that will last for a
few more months. We also told him about the garden and farm animals that we have.
The Col. told the president that we were about to take over the city of Corning, and
that there were more stores that have not been touched. He told the president that we
been training the people how to use weapons so that we can going to the city and
cleared out building by building. The Col. also told him that he was using the plans
that Capt. Johnson and John came up with a while back.

The president told the Col. and us to do it get that city so that we can extend out. He
also said that when we get the city and get it safe and secure that he wanted teams to
go out and find more survivors, and bring them back here so that everyone we bring
back get help rebuild.
I told the president that there was another grocery store on the other side of the city
that we thank it will have a lot more food that we could use. We would like to hit that
place before trying to take over the city.
The president thought that would be a good idea, he also wondered how we would get
all the food from the store here.
We told him that we have done it before and now that we have more people should not
take long.
The president asked how long and when we could do this?
We told him that we could do it today that it was still early enough that we can get it
done.
The president told us to go ahead.
Paul and got his men, John went and got his group as well. The Col. when got his
men and told them the captain Johnson was in charge and that they were to listen to
him.

We all met out by the front gate. Paul had three has man grabbed the tractor-trailers
and to follow us to the store. Paul told them when we got there to back up to the
loading dock and that we were going to drive around the store to make sure that it is
clear. He had three of the Col.’s man that were sharpshooters and told them that when
they got there that they were to this. He said I want two man to climb the truck onto
the top of the store to take any zombies you see coming toward us. I want the other
man to lie down on the top of the truck and also take out any zombies you see coming.
We all got into the vehicle’s and headed to the store. We had to go down four blocks in
crossover the other bridge and into the parking lot of Wiggles grocery store. As we
pulled around to the loading docks there were to bays. Paul had two of the trucks back
up to the docks, and had the other one turned and ready to back in as soon as one of
them pulled out. The truck that was sitting and waiting Paul had the one sniper laying
on the top, he told the other two climb onto the tractor-trailers onto the roof of the
building. We finish driving around the back of the store and came around to the front.
Paul stopped right in front, of the front door.

I jumped out with my trusty crowbar and popped open the doors. John told the man
that they knew their job and to get moving. We move slowly into the store it was well
lite by the skylights. There was a smell of rotting meat. We did not’ know if there were
zombies in there or if it was coming from the coolers. We took are time moving
through the store. As we move closer to the coolers the smell of the rotting meat got
stronger. Paul had Tc get on the top of the freezers to look around and to watch are
backs as we move throughout the store. It took us about 45 minutes to clear the front
of the store. We were now getting ready to move to the back of the store. We pushed
open the door to the back room. It was a little dark back there. We moved slowly to the
bay door, only because we could smell rotting meat back there as well. Paul had some
new gear. He had night vision goggles that he out on to and told everyone to stay
behind him. Still moving slowly taking our time, Paul made a hand single to stop. He
pulled up his weapon and slowly moved around the corner. We see flashes of light
come around the corner, we also hear whispering gun shots. He comes back and has
us move forward, we get to the back door we can see that there were five dead zombies
and were wearing store uniforms. We open the bay doors, Paul has two people go and
get the light system from the truck. Once we got the lights on we could see that the
store employees were bit and turned. They must have locked themselves in the store.
We had people loading the truck when Paul and I heard a noise coming from the
breakroom no one has cleared that room yet.

We head to the door that leads to the breakroom. I try to open the door but it was
locked, I knocked on the door and asked is there someone in there. We did hear
anything for a minute I knocked again and asked louder IS THERE ANY ONE IN
THERE? Within a few seconds

I hear a woman’s voice reply yes.
I asked her to open the door?
She said that there are dead people out there that are going to eat us, I am not going
to open the door.
I told her that all five of them are dead.
She replied there was seven and we are not going to come out.
I looked over at Paul and said there are two more zombies in here somewhere.
Paul ran back over the others get them to start to search the store one more time to
find the other two zombies.
I told the woman in the room that we are searching the store now to find the other
zombies.
Once again she said that they were not going to come out until they know that we
killed them.
It wasn’t long and Tc and one other of Paul’s men found them in the manager’s office
and killed those one as well.
I went back to the door and told them that we killed them that they can come out now.
I heard the lock on the door slide open, she opened the door slowly, she stuck her head
out and looked around.
I told her see no more zombies out here.
She opened the door all the way and came out, there were three others in there.
Two women and a boy that had to be at least 16 years old. They were scared and they
looked good for being in there.
I told the woman my name was John.
She said that her name was Pam and the other were Tim, Kathy, and Vicky. She said
that they have been stuck in there for almost two weeks.
I asked her how were you getting food and water?
She said that when they were in the store they moved some food and water in there
just in case some zombies got in there.
