“I can't tell you. It’s private.” He avoids eye contact.

“What? What do you mean? What can be so private?”

“It seems you don't get it. Don't ask again because I will not tell you. Period,” Levi replies with a low cold voice. “Go run along and celebrate your victory. You don't have time for losers, am I right?” he continues with the same tone.

He starts walking from me but I grab his hand and stop him.

“Wait! It’s not like that. I'm not like that.” I say to him in the spur of the moment, not realizing I actually am like that.

“I'm sure you’re not,” says Levi with sarcasm in his voice.

“Hey, look at me. What do you know about me? Nothing. So don't judge me.”

         “Well, I have seen enough.”

“Yea right, like you can decide what kind of person I am in two hours.” The tone if my voice elevates to the point I can realize it happen so.

“Look, do you want to know what I wrote?”

“Yes.” I widen my eyes with hope.

“I'm going to tell you if you gonna come with me for a drink after this.”

“What? ... you promise to tell me exact?”

         “Yes.” He seems serious now.

         “Hmm... k.”

“Mr. Adam, nice job.” The door opens and Mr. Adams appears with a grin on his face.

“What is this, are you guys joking? I can't believe it, but you got me, I must admit.”

“Hehe, we sure did,” says Levi with a big smile on his face.

         “You're not mad right?”

“No, I'm not, of course I'm not, you guys where only joking. But, Mr. Adams, I still am the winner, yes?”

“Of course, my dear, of course.”

“Hey, now let’s go to a nice place I know. It’s very close to this place.” I grin at him and reply.

“Yea, sure.” Funny way of asking me for a drink but I must admit it’s a creative way. He got me there for a second. He looks rich and bored so I think he needs to do this kind of stuff to exit the monotony. I will play his game. We walk to the place he told me about. It’s a nice coffee shop, in French style. I like it. After we sit down and order I open the conversation.

“Interesting way of asking me out, don’t you think?” He smiles at me, showing his white teeth, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. I return the smile showing my extra white teeth.

“It was ok, if you ask me. Actually, it was Mr. Adams idea. I just played it out,” he replies with a low voice.

“So you don’t want me here or what, I don’t understand,” I try to read his face expressions but from what I can tell, there are none.

“Of course I do, I find you very interesting to say the least. The problem is, and you might have sense something, that two family members are most likely to die in the next two weeks. That’s why I’m so down at the moment. I don’t even know what to talk about.

That explains a lot. I feel bad for him, having to do all this while the people he loves are dying.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t understood the situation you are in.”

“It’s fine,” he says the word with a more energetic vibe, trying to shift his mood.

“You from Boston?” I ask him in a pitiful attempt to change the topic.

“I live here, but I actually was born in California, where my mother died.

“And your father? Don’t tell me his dead as well,” I say this before I realized it.

“His not, he travels a lot, mostly he spends his time in Europe and Asia. He is a very busy person, I see him rarely.”

After half an hour, we finish our conversation that made me see Levi in a different light, a sad one I must say. I really like him.

Chapter II

I get in my car and exit the parking lot. In one swift move I take my phone out of my pocket and call my brother. I wait and after 10 seconds he answers.

         “Yea, sup?”

“Brother, you at home?” I ask him while looking at a ten passing by.

“Yea, I am. I was preparing to go to the gym,” he says.

“Ooo, without me?” I act like I’m frustrated.

“Well, bro, look at the time. You should be home by now.”

I move my eyes from the almost gone ten to the clock. It's a little late, I guess.

“I know, but the interview I had stretched a little. What can you do, right!” I grin and my brother can sense it.

“True, so in 20 minutes you get here?” he says with hope in his voice.

“Yea, 20 minutes is good.” I shake my head in disbelief.

“Okay, I'm gonna wait for you.”

         “Good, see you then.”

I end the conversation, put my phone on the sit next to me and drive through the city easy and slow, taking my time. Half an hour later I reach my destination. Home.

“Bro. You like to take your time, don't you!” he murmurs looking at me.

“Of course I do, what did you think? That I'm gonna rush home?” I say this with a sarcastic tone.

“Same old you, never in a hurry,” he smiles and walks into the kitchen to get his water.

“You got that right, brother. So are you ready to sweat and grow?”

“I sure am, especially that Zane is there.”

“Oo, is he now. And Leon is there as well, correct?”

“Indeed. But no worry, we gonna make them cry for what they did to Justin.”

“Calm down. The time will come for them. You know that. Now, when are the twins coming?” I ask him as I shut down the TV and get my backpack.

“Well, today, I guess,” Oliver replies, coming out of the kitchen with a slight surprise in his voice.

“What? Today? Where is Zoe? Zoe! Come down. We need to make some cleaning and get this stuff in order.” I scan the room and start putting some books back into the shelf.

“We will after the gym, bro.”

“Zoe will start now and we are gonna finish when we get home. Zoe, what are you doing?” A seventeen year old girl appears, my sister, Zoe. She lives with me and my brother for two years now.

“Nothing, painting, why?” she adds as she slowly comes down the stairs and into my embrace. Her paintings are pretty good, she does have talent, I must say.

“Look, the twins are coming today and we need to get this stuff is order so you can start now and we will finish later, ok?”

“Only if you let me drive your new car,” she looks at me with her green eyes and with a puppy face, as always I have to add.

“Is that so, Miss Zoe? You want to make a deal? Very well, but you really need to work your butt for the keys, ok?”

“Yes, I will,” she replies with a grin on her face, realizing that she won once more. I admit defeat knowing that she will work for ten minutes and then she will leave the rest to us.

“Very well. Brother, let’s go, it’s getting late.” I look at the phone with a blank face and exit the house.

         “Yea, I'm driving.”

It's a sunny day and the car shines under the sunlight. We get into the car, a new Porsche 918 Spyder. I give my brother the keys and take a sip of water.

“So I was at Damian the other day and he said that the Marshall Group is going to buy that land in the north. And cheap he said.”

“I expected that. They were waiting for the price to drop for months now. Nonetheless, we need to buy the land in the east or west. We can't afford to fall behind,” I say staring at the car in front of me.

“I know Levi but we need help with the money. We need two more million,” Oliver continues not moving his eyes of the road.

“No worry, that's why the twins are here.”

“What, they got two million but can't afford a house to leave in,” says Oliver looking at me for a second, smiling.

“Think, brother. They have two million, they can buy a house or live with us and give the money in our benefit,” I snap at him. I was always the smart one in the family, except for my big brother.

“I get it, but how much percent we lose?” he asks trying to come up with his on answer.

         “20%,” I whisper.

         “It’s okay, I guess.”

“Yea, as long as we stay at Marshall’s neck it’s ok.” The Marshall Group was and is our competition when it comes to business related situations.

“So, how the book thing go?”

“Hmm..., yes. Let me tell you. I was there and I wasn't alone.” My spirit is starting to get up on his feet again. Just thinking about her makes me feel better.

“What do you mean, Mr. Adams said that you get the game,” he murmurs while taking a turn.

“Well I didn't. I lost to a hot redhead,” I tease my brother with a dry answer.

“You lost, you mean you let her win, right! And what girl are we taking about. Don't tell me you are in love again. I can't believe it, every month you find a girl you fall for,” he says grinning at me.

“Well, her book was indeed good, but not as good as mine, you can imagine. She worked hard for it and I couldn’t crush her hope. I asked her out in the stupidest way possible.”

“Of course you did! When?” Oliver asks, his eyes rolling.

“On Saturday, at our brothers’ award,” I mutter.

“What, you crazy! All the guys will be there. It strikes me how stupid you can be sometimes. Did you think before asking? Or was it all in the spur of the moment?"

“I know, but man, she is too good to be true,” I close my eyes imagining her beautiful face and perfect hair. And the eyes, blue eyes, but cold and piercing, not like mine, dull and washed.

“OMG, you tripping again, home boy.” My brother is looking at me with a stupid face.

“You will to when you see her,” I try to assure him that this is not like the last ten times. If I think about it, I don’t believe it myself sometimes. Crazy, isn't it!

         “You think so?”

         “I know so.”

         “We will see about that.”

We finally reach our destination, the gym. After Oliver parked the car, that took like ten fucking minutes, because he wanted to be perfect, we walk into the gym like two lions prepared to devourer their prey. The music is loud so I get close to Oliver’s ear and ask him.

“So you said that Zane and Leon are inside.”

         “Yea,” he shouts.

“Okay, let’s humiliate them a little,” I continue. I look around the gym and stop my eyes on Zane and Leon. There they are.

“Brother, what are we doing today?” I ask him already knowing the answer.

“Back,” he says as I expected.

“Forget it, we are going to do chest.”

         “Why is that?”

“Look there, see, that's why.” I point at the guys.

“How much is he benching?” He asks me like I can tell.

         “Can't tell. Lets see.”

         “Hey, Leon. What's up?”

“The Noble brothers, you come to pump some blood?”

“Yea, we did, and what a coincidence, we also got chest today.”

         “Isn't that wonderful, right Zane.”

“Zane, what you got there, 265, sets of five?”

“Kind of weak, bro.” My brother is trying to get them angry but he’s not doing a great job.

“Is that so, pretty boy, let’s see what you got!” He looks at us with a smug face just asking for a punch.

“You want to make this a competition?”

“Bring it on, Levi; you’re going to lose just like Justin.”

“You talk big, little man, and we will see who is going to win this time and the next.”

I warm up and get ready to kick some ass. After ten minutes of fucking around we are prepared to take Zane and Leon head on. I have a little chat with my brother about the strategy we are going to use and the mode the game will be played. After we are done I look in the mirror and mentally prepare myself for the battle that is about to begin. I gather my strength and motivate my brother who is standing next to me.
