Arsenicumfor the child with a red, runny, burning nose who feels worse in a cold room, wants to be left alone, but wants attention every once in a while.
Bryoniafor the child with marked body aches who feels worse with any motion; has a headache in the front part of the head; dry, chapped lips; a dry cough; and a great thirst for cold water.
Gelsemiumfor the child with heavy, droopy eyelids, fatigue, aches and chills up and down the spine, weakness, little or no thirst, a headache in the back part of the head.
Eupatorium perfoliatum
for the child who feels a deep aching in muscles and bones, and gets chills, usually in the morning.
Rhus toxicodendron
for the child with muscle aches upon initial movement that feels better with motion. The child is typically restless, especially at night in bed; has a sore throat and is thirsty, but only for sips of water at a time.
Mercurius solubilis
for a lingering flu with a sore throat; bad breath; tender, swollen glands.
Herbal Medicine
Echinacea and goldenseal combinationantiviral echinacea and antibacterial goldenseal both stimulate immune response; goldenseal helps heal mucus membranes. Echinacea's effects are most potent for the first two or three days; do not use echinacea longer than a week.
Goldensealits positive effects do not diminish, so it may be used longer than a week if needed.
