That evening David suggested they go ahead with their plan.

Melissa was a nervous wreck and it took some tall talking from her brother to calm her down.  He assured her he felt it would end well for all of them.  Their idea had great merit and once they got everyone calmed down, he felt their dads would see the wisdom in it.

CONFRONTATION

Melody went to their doctor and asked for a sedative to help her sleep, she’d been having trouble with insomnia a lot of late.

Before Jonathan got out of bed this early Saturday morn he heard Melody talking in her sleep.

“What is it baby?” he asked as he cuddled her close to his chest.

“Please, Jon.  Please give me another son?” she begged with her speech groggy this morn.

With a sigh he thinks about her request.  “Alright my love.  I will give you a son.  Will that make you happy again?” he asked with a begging quality to his voice.

“Mmmm hummm,” she purred lightly as she wrapped her arms around his neck, kissed his lips while she proceeded to thank him with her entire body.

After making love Jonathan J left her in bed.  She had never even fully awakened completely,  which concerned him.   Her body reacted to him though, like it was on autopilot and that was always a good thing, what with the way she enjoyed his lovemaking.  Made him feel proud.

“My love, I’m so glad I found you still in bed resting,” came Jonathan’s sweet voice as Melody tried to awaken.

“About the baby, Jon, did you give me a son like I asked?” came her sleepy response.

“You want another son, sweetheart?  I’ll be happy to give you a another son.  I love you so much, my heart,” Jonathan promised as he renewed the Bonding that had become starved for far too long.

Holding her in his arms, his legs wrapped around her and his stomach against hers felt like sheer heaven.  He wanted to stay that way for about the rest of his life.  But now that his son was growing inside her lovely body he felt renewed and sanity was returning and reminding him that he had a lot to get accomplish today and he better get busy.

“Mel, sweetie . . . you need to get up and get dressed as quickly as you can.  I’ve got some wonderful surprises for you, my love.”

She stretched and purred like a contented kitten as she tried to focus on his beautiful face that she only now realized looked much thinner than it should.

       “Jon, what’s happened?”

Turning from her closet with a dress in his hands to give her he asked, “What do you mean?”

She took the dress and underwear and began dressing while still in bed.  “Why, you’ve lost weight, a lot more than the past few months too!  Are you sick?  Don’t you hide anything from me!”  She was climbing off the bed, dressed and running her fingers through her hair to remove the snags.

“I’ve been trying to work out a solution to our situation sweetheart, that’s all.  It’s taken a toll on all of us.  You’re a lot thinner that you were two years ago, yourself.”

Grinning one of the biggest grins she’s ever seen on his face he picks her up and whirls her around and around.  “Oh, my heart, my love, my life, I can live again!  I have you back in my arms like you’re supposed to be.”

Melody placed a hand gently on his forehead and announced, “You’re not running any fever that I can detect.  Let’s go see the doc though, just to be safe.”

About that time a knock came on her bedroom door.  Jonathan went to it and unlocked the lock before peeking through the crack of the opening he’d allowed.

Swinging it wide he let two young people enter before he locked it again.

Melody gasped and her legs grew so weak she fell back onto the foot of the bed.  There stood David smiling about as handsome a smile as he could muster.

“Mom!  Oh, thank the planets that you are alright!” he stated before he swooped her up and swung her around a few times.  After kissing her cheek and giving her several bear hugs he couldn’t hide the tears in his eyes.

Melody looked at her daughter who had walked in with him and saw she was in tears too, as was her Jonathan.  Looking at her beloved husband she asked, “How’d you manage to get David here, sweetie?  Will we get in trouble?  Was the government tracking you?”

David answered.  “Mom, the government isn’t aware of our uniqueness completely, yet.  They just think we have altered DNA.  We’ve been living at home this whole time and searching for
you
.”

“I, I don’t understand?  What do you mean you’ve been searching for me?” she asked looking confused and growing in upsetness.

A knock came on her bedroom door and Jonathan’s voice called out, “Mel, darling are you alright?  Why is the door locked?”

With her mouth dropped open almost to her chest she looks at everyone and sees they are all tense.  How can Jonathan be outside her bedroom while he’s standing right here before her?

“Dad, Mom and I are chatting.  It’s been an extremely eventful morning.  There are some things we all need to discuss in a calm setting.  Meet us in the family room please,” Melissa called out.

“Missy, you open this door right now!  Is your mother alright?  She took those blasted sleeping pills last night and she was a bit groggy earlier.  Now open this door right this minute!”

Melissa headed toward the door, David tried to get her to not open it but she said, “He’s my dad, David.  I love him, just like you do your dad.  He’s been nothing but wonderful to us.  I have to let him in.”

Talking through the door Melissa states, “Dad, uh, I hope when you come in you will realize that we love you and try not to get too upset, please.”

“Melissa, you are already upsetting me.  Open this door or I will remove it.”  Jonathan J responded with fear and building anger.

As he stepped through Melissa linked an arm through his as he took in his wife’s gapped open mouth while she stared at him in what appeared to be stunned bewilderment.

“Melissa stop,” he stated as he unlinked her arm and hurriedly went to Melody.  “My love, what is wrong?  Is it the baby?  What’s wrong?”

Her hand went defensively to her stomach and she looked down.  Then she looked back into his face.  “Baby?” she asked as though she couldn’t put his words together in her mind.

He smiled then.  “Yes, my heart.  You asked for another son and I gave him to you for us both.  This morning.  Don’t you remember?”

From a corner of the room where he had not looked came a very familiar voice that declared boastfully, “It was I who she asked for a son and I gave her
my
son.  It’s
my
child growing in her right now, not yours!  She’s
my
Bonded mate-wife, not yours!”

Jonathan J turned but kept his arm around Melody.  “
I
gave her a son this very morning.  She is also my fully Bonded mate and wife as well.  And what are
you
doing in my house?  How did you find us?  Did grandfather tell you?”

Jonathan came striding across the room to confront his sibling that he’d never known of until about two weeks ago.  He still wasn’t over the shock and the anger over what their conniving grandfather and ruler had done.  It actually made him angry enough to consider the possibility of murder as a method of some sort of retribution.

“What is going on here?” Melody asks in bewilderment looking from one Jonathan to the other.  Only one’s face is a bit thinner than the other is, that was the only difference as far as she could see.  “Sweetie, did you clone yourself?”

David and Melissa giggled at that.  David came to her rescue and Melissa followed, taking her from both men and leading her to the family room.

Before they could clear the bedroom door they heard a couple of thuds and a few grunts.  Turning they all saw their dad’s going at it, fist to chin and fist to gut.

Melody yelled out, “Stop that this instant!  Don’t hurt the merchandise until I can determine which one is really mine.”

Both men tossed a glare her way but they did stop the fighting – for the moment.

As Melody slid into her comfortable glider-rocker she mumbled, “Don’t ever mention sedatives to me again.  I can’t seem to wake up.”

Looking sanely at David as her men took seats on either side of her and the children sat facing the trio she asked, “David, you reckon someone slipped me some psychedelic drug just to liven things up around here?”

Laughing, hoping his mom will stay lucid and calm while they try to sort out the situation without further bloodshed, he shook his head no.  “Don’t think so Mom.  My sweet and brilliant sis here found some hidden discs and discovered the whole scenario a couple months back.  So I’ll let her explain it with visuals to help you understand things better, Mom.”

Melissa and David had prepared the slide show of videos while Jonathan was busy having some very much needed intimate time with his Bonded mate this morning.  Melissa’s dad had been busy in the lab at the time.

Melissa had earlier turned off the perimeter alarms and sent the guards on several stupid errands that allowed Jonathan and David to arrive via jet boat in the wee hours of morning.

As the images played over the wall screen Melody almost couldn’t stop crying.  Seeing her Jonathan, rather both men going through sheer torture over her was terribly nerve wrecking.  They had to stop the showings several times to allow her to calm down, not wanting her new pregnancy to be harmed.

Everyone was subdued when it was finished.  The whole identical twin experiment of their grandfather’s had certainly been brought to an abrupt end this morning.

Melissa called the medical lab and requested a gestational scanner.  The equipment arrived and she did the scan on her mom.  It was non-invasive and all Melody had to do was stand up and let Melissa guide the scanner over her pubic area.  There were indeed twin boys growing in Melissa’s womb.

“Well, Mom, you finally got one of your wishes.  Not only are you carrying one son, but two.  You’re having twin boys now.  Double the trouble and double the fun, let’s hope.  Besides,” she says with a tender smile to ease her mom’s stress level.  “David and I can always use a few more brothers and next time consider having another daughter, how about?” Melissa stated with a smile at everyone.

Melody tried to smile back at her when she replied, “Well, let me get through this pregnancy first.”

It was clear that both Jonathan’s were frowning at each other and the edge of their eyelids were noticeably twitching, a sure sign of intense jealousy.

David clarified a few things for his mom.  “Okay, Melissa and I have gone over this entire situation and reviewed several scenarios.  It’s a fact that both our dad’s are genuinely Bonded to you.”

Holding a hand up to stop his dad from interrupting he continued, “Their unique identical twin-ness has apparently seen to that.
Both
are your life-time mates.  You might survive without them, maybe, perhaps, but neither will survive without you.  That’s a fact!”

Melody gasped and stammered non-sensible words for a couple of minutes.   Her hands were busy gripping her dress as she tried to twist an answer out of the material.

Jonathan plowed forward while looking at her in such turmoil.  “Now is not the time for your mother, my wife, to have to endure this kind of distress.  Our son,” he heaved a deep sigh, pinched the bridge of his nose with his fingers  then continued, “our
sons
are at risk with her being too upset.  I think the best thing to do is for us to return home and after she’s had a few weeks to allow all this to sink in, then we can all come to some sort of decision about what we’re to do.”
