When both Jonathan’s had been born, identical, it had never occurred before.  No one but their grandfather and the “special Jontu Brother’s team” knew of it.  He’d been whisked away before his mother had awakened from the induced sleep they had put her in knowing from scans there would be identical twins.  His grandfather saw this as a perfect opportunity for their scientists to discover new things about their Bonding genes and numerous other things.

Jonathan J had been raised on the opposite side of their planet by his grandfather and his Team.

Human experiments were not allowed legally on their planet and forbidden for any humanoid to be subjected to such studies.  His grandfather being the reining monarch felt he was not depriving his grandson of much, after all he was raising him himself, teaching him the ways of nobility far better than any one else could.

“Jonny, I hope she has your beautiful blue eyes, just like you and David,” she purred into his ear as she teased him terribly with her teeth and tongue.

Having tasted her from toes to forehead with licks, slurps and nibbles that seemed to drive her right out of her mind Jonathan grinned down at her glazed eyes and murmured, “Are you ready now, my love?  This will be a most blessed event, if you are certain.”

“Yes, yes!  I’m certain,” she cried as she tried to pull him tighter into her, her own back arched upward.

He laughed lightly at her enthusiasm, which was just one of a million things he loved about her.

As Jonathan J made love to his very happy wife that morning he released his seed and implanted her with the life needed for their daughter to begin her journey in the womb.

They both knew something extraordinary had occurred at the height of their climax.  It was like being pulled into paradise while floating outside their bodies.

The next morning he happily walked with her to see their doctor.  She was indeed pregnant and the special pre-natal care that she needed was begun.

Jonathan was thrilled his bride was carrying his child.  The sensation of knowing it was
his
child did something to him.  He’d been forced to view Melody when she was pregnant with David and he had been grieved and happy at the same time.  Now, this was
his
baby growing inside the woman he adored.

Melody glowed . . . or so the staff and her beloved kept telling her daily.  She knew she was about as happy as she could ever be under the circumstances of being away from her son, grandson and dearest friend in the world, Mary.  But, as long as they were safe, that’s all she prayed for now.

For safety, she and Jonathan J could only venture out onto the beach at night and that for only a half hour at a time.  She dearly missed her days in the sun and wave walking, as she called her wading.

Melissa was growing swiftly inside her now and she couldn’t wait for their little girl to be born.

“Melody love, would you like a night at the movies with me?  I’ll bring the buttered popcorn and you bring your sweet self?  Whatdoyasay?” Jonathan J asked one evening as Melody was waddling about the rooms, looking sadder than her usual sad self, when she allowed it.

Looking up at him with a big smile she answered, “Sounds like a winner to me, sweetie!”

He was trying to get her to smile and not be feeling so sad, like she was on some days.

Her hormones being out of kilter she’s been a bit more teary eyed here of late, Jonathan J has noted with alarm.   His whole life is consumed with making her happy and keeping them safe from being discovered.

His grandfather seemed to be genuinely happy about the pending delivery of their daughter, Melissa.  She will be the first Princess  born of the reining Prince.  Their father has stepped aside for the title to go to his son, though he doesn’t know there are two son’s sharing the title of Prince Jonathan.

Jonathan J was devastated when he discovered he’d been kept from his father, mother and identical brother, all because his grandfather wanted to do an experiment.   True his grandfather had been kind and good to him, until Jonathan meet Melody.  That’s when the experiment took on a bit of a sadistic edge, at least it was as far as Jonathan J was concerned.

Being forced to watch Melody, and thus begin pre-bonding with a woman only his brother could touch, kiss and have sexual joy with was beyond torture, it was life threatening.

When the doctors discovered Jonathan J was starting to actually die, due to his desire and need to bond with Melody, his grandfather did try to help him.  He had arranged for all this elaborate ruse to kidnap her, therefore allowing him, Jonathan J to Bond with his only true mate, thus saving his life.

Jonathan J tries hard not to think about the affect that losing Melody has had on his sibling.  He’s been hoping that perhaps his grandfather and his team may discover a way for them both to survive, while only one, him, keeps Melody to himself.  That’s what he’s hoping for and what keeps his feelings of guilt over the pain his brother is suffering from overtaking him.

CHAPTER 9  *  *

MELISSA

Melody was as busy as could be with getting the new nursery situated.  She quilted and crocheted several crib blankets, even crocheted some cute baby dresses and bonnets.

Jonathan J commissioned several fine pieces of nursery furniture that had been handcrafted by skilled artisans and flown in.  All was now in readiness, as everyone looked at Melody, awaiting her daughter’s birth.

Jonathan J was a happy man.  He barely left her side when the doctors informed him privately that she could deliver any time now.  No matter where she was he had her under surveillance.  He remembered with fear how she had a tendency to keep to herself just before going into labor, as she did with David.  He’d nearly been drove crazy with worry when she’d been carrying David several years ago.  He knew things about her that his dumb brother hadn’t noticed, so he tried to anticipate her mood change, or so he kept telling himself.

Today, Melody had a light lunch, feeling too full with baby to have much room for food.  She smiled as she rubbed her belly and cooed to her daughter.  She hadn’t used headphones on her stomach like she had with David.  Now she worried that the sound may be too loud with the water as an amplifier, so she just sang to Melissa – often.  She’d asked Jonathan to sing to their daughter too, and he had - several times.  His voice was deep, rich and full of adoration.  He often laid his head gently on her stomach and crooned to their little one.  This brought tears to Melody’s eyes.  Her heart stayed pretty full with the wonderful happiness Jonathan J brought her on a moment to moment basis.

“Jon, sweetheart, uh, I think it’s time,” Melody announced with a grimace as she waddled her way into his small office that was situated between the dining room and the great room.

He’d been anticipating this announcement since he’d been noticing her frowning off and on since early that morn.  She’d only nibbled at her food and that wasn’t like his Melody, at all.  She had a healthy appetite most days, so it was a sign.

Turning off his computer he hurries to her side and suggests, “Let’s have the doctor take a look, sweetheart.  And please allow them to give you something to ease the discomfort too.”

With his strong arm around her middle she lets him walk her slowly to the elevator to descend to the downstairs complex of medical, science labs and security rooms.

Melissa came into the world without a hitch, just like Melody had assured Jonathan for years.

Jonathan J thought his heart would burst with the pride, love and the happiness he was feeling with his new precious family.

Melissa came into the world adorned perfectly with her father’s black hair along with the beautiful royal blue eyes, but in all else she looked like her mother.

Melody was thrilled to be nursing an infant again.  She found it deepened her bonding with her babies or so she told people whenever she could bring up the subject, which wasn’t often.

In only a matter of weeks Melissa began maturing at a rapid rate, faster than David or his son Zane had matured.

Jonathan was astonished at the brilliance of his wonderful, sweet, loving daughter.  He was proud that she was a mini version of her mom, except for her eyes and hair color they looked almost identical.  They both had the same teasing, endearingly sweet dispositions.

Within seven months Melissa was a lovely young woman.

It had been less than a year and a half since their exile but Melody was asking more frequently for news about her son David’s family and Mary and their friends.

Melissa adored her parents and soon discovered she loved singing and medical research.  Most any thing caught her interest for a while.  She felt like a sponge that was trying to absorb all she could as fast as possible.

The grandfather was thrilled that his granddaughter’s growth and mental abilities had exceeded all those tested so far.  Her IQ was beyond their ability to register accurately.  They had no comprehension as to why this was occurring, among the Jontu progeny that stems from Jonathan and Melody’s coupling.

Other H’traeian children were far advanced too, but none so much as the Royal grandchildren and great-grandchildren (David’s son Zane).

One thing that made Melissa all the more admired and respected by everyone on their tiny island, and with the Grandfather and his team, was the fact that she had a tender and loving heart.  They considered her the most emotionally guided person among their people.  Yet she tempered her emotions with reason, which simply revealed her intelligence all the more to the scientists.

“Daddy,” Melissa called out, as she entered the small laboratory her dad had them create for her studies and experiments.  Her blue eyes held a mischievous sparkle as they came to rest on his smiling face.  Melody insisted she call Jonathan Daddy, not Jon, not any name but Dad.  And since she adored her mom, she obliged, even when others looked at her strangely.

“What darling?” Jonathan asked as he greeted his daughter with a kiss on her forehead.

“Mom’s at it again.  I just thought I’d give you fair warning.”

Jonathan gave her a half crooked grin and sighed.  “I know, she wants another baby.  You simply grew up too fast for her to feel like she’s had a child for any length of time.”

Melody was on another “I want a baby” kick.  Jonathan J wanted her to take a year or so for her body to recoup from the fast gestation she’d already endured first.  So, he’d been declining her wishes for another child, stubbornly and fervently.

Melissa laughs.  “Dad, you know you’re gonna give in to her sooner or later, why wait?  It might give you some peace again.”

That evening as they enjoyed a seafood supper with lobster and crab fresh caught and a sea bass that tasted awesome Jonathan surprised them both when he cleared his throat to get their attention.

“How would my two favorites girls in all the Universes like to take a jungle tour of the island tomorrow?” he asked.

Melissa had already tromped over most of the island, through her parents didn’t know.  She’d learned how to trick the security cameras so they wouldn’t alert anyone she had stepped away from the perimeter they were to remain inside of near their mountain home.  Looking at her dad she bat her long and lovely eighteen year old eyelashes and said, “Oh, dad, that would be such fun!  Whatever made you think of it?”

Melody looked interested.  It would be almost like taking a day vacation.  Nobody better ever tell her again in her life that someone can’t get sick of a paradise island.  She was thinking
Alcatraz
now and again, here of late.  She was sick and tired of being confined to the inside of the house.  Their little garden area with the waterfall was indeed beautiful but she wanted to run in the surf in full blown daylight and she wanted to go to a movie, a 3-D version, with other “normal” Earthlings occupying the seats.  She also wanted to pull up to a Popeye’s Fried Chicken drive thru window and order a big batch of the hot fried chicken and a gallon of the delish gravy and a whole pan of their biscuits.  Yum, yum.

She dearly missed going shopping and stopping at a restaurant lounge with her friend Mary while they drank island drinks, got semi-plastered and laughed so hard they peed themselves while discussing how hot and stirred up they planned on making their husbands when they got home and wore the naughty stuff they’d bought.

Melody’s attention returned to the table.  Melissa’s eyes glittered and she looked genuinely happy for the three of them to go on an excursion together, for the first time ever.

“Let’s take backpacks and fill them with food for picnicking as we go?” Melody asked them both.

“Sounds good to me!  We’ll have a great time.  Wear your swimsuits under your walking clothes, I know of a few waterfalls that we can swim in to cool us down,” Jonathan suggested.

Melody and Melissa giggled like sisters as they trekked through the jungle with Jonathan leading the way.  Melissa knew the lay of the land but didn’t dare let them know.  It was a fun time and they were doing something together besides eating a meal or playing some rather boring board game her mom loved.

The ladies had a fondness for a movie trilogy called
The Dawning Trilogy
.   It was a religious love story that always made them laugh and cry, though they’d already seen it three times.  The other movies they loved were the
Harry Potter
ones and of course the
Twilight
series.        Jonathan couldn’t understand the female weakness for a cute male vampire, though he tried.  A handsome real alien, such as himself, made better sense, but a vampire?  He’d noticed his ladies all but drooled as they watched all the love scenes, while shushing him, as he couldn’t seem to stop himself from retorting or making a comment.

As they trekked along they stopped for a rest later that evening and were sitting on a rock formation beside a small pond.  A tiny monkey came down from one of the trees and swiftly ran by as it swiped one of the sandwiches that had been placed on the tablecloth.

“Did you see that?” Melissa asked with a laugh and a look of disbelief on her face.  “That little thing was really moving!  I hope it likes egg salad,” she stated with a giggle.  As they ate their food all kept their eyes out for the little monkey to return.

“Melissa, perhaps you can capture and tame it?” Jonathan suggested.

She hadn’t considered that.  “Oh, Dad, could I?  That would be such fun, I’d teach it all kinds of things.”

Everyone tried to entice the monkey to come down.  It was peeking at them from about twenty feet back and up a small palm tree, chattering away at them.

Melissa decided to make friends by offering small pieces of a sandwich laid out on the ground that ran from the tree to her seat.

Here it came.  It first grabbed the closest piece then hurried back to the safety of the tree to eat it while fussing at them at the same time.

Melissa decided to remove the remaining pieces and leave them as a crumb trail back to their home.  The last piece she placed on the table outside her bedroom door at the edge of the garden.

Her plan was to get the monkey used to her feeding it and then make friends.

Within a week the little monkey was sitting on Melissa’s shoulder and chattering away at everyone in the household.

Melissa had managed to sedate it while she examined it and gave it a rabies shot and did a medical exam on the little thing.  Their doctors advised her to pull its canines so it couldn’t inflect harm but she felt that would remove all its defenses, and since it was a dwarf of a monkey to begin with, its canines were already small.  It was still a young monkey itself and must have been abandoned by its mother due to it being so different and not growing normally.

It wasn’t long before the monkey became a member of their family.  It was babied and loved by all.  It even tolerated it’s little preemie diapers Melissa forced it to wear when she couldn’t train it to use the toilet or a cat litter box.  She ordered her little “Marcie” a monkey baby doll.  It soon dragged that doll with it everywhere it went.

Melody knew Jonathan was trying to appease her with little excursions around the island, but it wasn’t enough, she needed to see her son.  Period.

He kept telling her it was far too dangerous and he couldn’t risk their being discovered.  She knew she was being selfish and feeling like a brat, but her heart ached to see her boy and his son.
