Everyone gathered in a circle, only some carried packs with equipment, they needed to travel light. Keeping his voice low he addressed them.

“One mile on foot to our location, no speaking unless absolutely necessary, once at the location shift to wolf form then we proceed with the plan, everyone clear?”

After agreement, they started the trek through the hazardous terrain, the area had obviously not been used for many years, which only added to the security of the complex.
Marcus had took hold of her hand, guiding her carefully, glancing to the right she saw lizzy gripping onto Connors hand, the hidden acknowledgment that she needed his support right now very apparent.

a final kiss on her forehead as she stepped away and took Lizzy’s hands. She mouthed the words ready and her friend responded with a curt nod. Walking down the path to the complex, they both the heard the shift taking place of Marcus and Connor. The red stone pack kept to their right hand side before loping off around the back of the complex. The clearing came into view and the ugly concrete building sat in the middle, oppressive and waiting. Looking to Lizzy one last time she switched to work mode, preparing herself.

Marcus watched from his high view point on the embankment, hidden by the ancient oak trees. His heart was in his mouth as he watched his mate and
her friend amble across the clearing. He wanted to speak to her, reassure not only her but him as well, but he did not want her distracted at all buy anything or anyone, she needed to stay focused. His claws dug in to the earth, as he peered closer over the top. His wolf was pushing him to bring her back, but he pushed it down, even when he saw two of the fuckers approach her.

Brianna
kept her pace steady with Lizzy, they casually looked around, feigning interest in their surroundings, just two female wolves exploring after a run. She felt Lizzy tense a little as two armed shifters approached them slowly, guns hanging loose beside their thighs.

“This is private property she wolves, what’s your business here”

Brianna put on her best confused expression, allowing the focus to come onto her so Lizzy could disable the three snipers on the roof.

“Hey, sorry we were out for a run yesterday and my friend here left her jacket after we shifted so we came back on foot today to find it. We must have took a wrong turn somewhere, we didn’t mean to trespass”

She could scent they were half shifters, probably mercenaries like the rest of them. She sent a quick message to Marcus to confirm this so he could disseminate to the rest of them.

Lizzy
angled herself to the right of her, looking to the roof. Brianna felt a power surge from her and took a step toward the shifters. She could feel her powers but as half shifters she was hoping they did not have any clue of what was about to transpire. One of the shifters, came toward her, scanning her body up and down like a prize possession. His slimy tongue darted out and licked his lips. As he brought his hand to her face she had to fight not to rip his throat out, which was precisely what Marcus was planning judging by the snarling and growling vibrating in her head.

“Well you are a little lost she wolf, why don’t you come inside and we will get you something to drink then drive you back to where you need to be”

Brianna grasped Lizzy’s hand and the shifters noticed it. The second one taking a keen interest in the submissive wolf. He came to the back of her, inhaling her neck, the aggressive vibes in her head were getting louder, Marcus trying to keep Connor calm after witnessing the act. On cue, Lizzy gripped Brianna’s hand twice letting her know that she had managed to disable the snipers, the bullets would not work. Brianna inhaled slowly, again sending another message to Marcus.

Ok baby, we are ge
tting ready to move, when Lizzy has disabled the ground guards let us know

Lizzy
looked to the front of the complex and sent a powerful charge through the air. A few shifters looked around, sensing something but unsure what, which gave Brianna confirmation that the outer guards were probably half shifters. As they approached the front door, the men held their weapons close to their chests, not even aware that the bullets had been jammed. But they needed to get to the back.

Lizzy
spoke up.

“Hey is that Max
’s brother over there, did you not date him?”

Brianna did a totally stupid girlie move and covered her mouth feigning a gasp.

“Yes, oh come on I am sure he has a kiss for an old flame”

They only got half way to the side when the guards stopped them

“Ah those men are not for you, we have to take the front entrance she wolves”

Brianna breathed a sigh of relief when she felt another surge from Lizzy, the angle provided her with the direction she needed. Another grip to her hand twice. Ok here we go she thought.

All weapons disabled Marcus

She looked to the tree line and saw shadows beginning to move, blending in seamlessly. One of the guards nudged her with his hand, very quickly they were at the front entrance.

“Watch the edge we have company, open fire”

The orders were screamed
from the rooftop, she and Lizzy being shoved roughly into the complex, before the door was slammed shut behind them.

Keeping a tight grip on each other’s hand’s she growled as her guard pushed her hard in the back.

“Do that again you piece of shit and I’ll tear your arm off” she snapped

“Like to see you try bitch, did you bring company with you?”

He brought the butt of his gun across her head, sending her into the wall, a loud buzzing echoed in her head. She could feel blood dr
ipping down her forehead. Lizzy grabbed her pulling her against her.

“Shit? Talk to me are you ok?”

“Oh never better”

They were careful not to use each other’s names inside. The corridor was dank and long, low lighting flickered above them. She was feeling really sick and her head was thumping

Marcus were the hell are you

Your hurt? I felt your pain baby, whoever did that is dead. We are just near the front entrance, only got about another six to take down, which are guarding the door.

No guards in the corridor, some lighting, no alarm system I can see, will keep you up to date

Turning a corner they approached another three guards standing in front of a double steel door. She did
not even have to look at Lizzy, the submissive she wolf had grown some courage. The weapons were disabled instantly. They looked to her snarling.

Ah shit, three full shifters right of the corridor, but weapons disabled.

Just about their baby, Tristan took a hit to the chest which slowed us down a little

The guards moved aside before being roughly thrown into another corridor. Again Brianna memorised the turns and relayed to Marcus. Noticing that the two guards with them had nobody else following them, she decided to act fast and physically take them out before the next guards would appear.

Spinning, she threw Lizzy
behind her, extending her claws she sank them into one guards neck throwing him to the ground, his pathetic attempts to dislodge her were frantic, thank god he was half shifter.

“Brianna!”

Standing up she saw the second guard had punched Lizzy hard in the face, the crack of her neck audible in the corridor, her friend slumped against the wall. The guard smiled at her, coaxing her to fight.

“You think you can take me she wolf?”

“I don’t think, I act first”

Launching herself at him she dug her claws into his chest, the howl of his pain echoing off the walls. His foot swiped out, landing her on her
back, picking her up by her hair he smacked her head into the ground.

I swear to god I am going to have the biggest fuckin headache

Hang in there baby, we are entering the front now.

“Sometimes, old fashioned tactics work best bitch huh?”

Bringing her knee up with incredible force she put everything she had into kicking him in the cock and balls. Screaming he rolled off her giving her just enough time to slash a clean deep line across his throat.

“Lizzy? Shit, wake up I need you alert”

“Calm down honey, I have had worse, help me up, which way?”

Looking around her another door was unguarded at the end of the one they were currently in. Inhaling deep she could smell the drug that had been used, it vapours oozing down toward them.

“This way, are you good to fight if needs be?”

“Yes well the best I can anyway”

“That’s all I ask, come on”

Running to the doors she hoped that the women were not far away, the chances were that there were more guards, but she would have to deal with that when they found it.

Marcus dodged a rake of claws as he jumped on one of the guards, the half breeds had shifted, which may mean they had become a little stronger but not enough to overpower an full breed alpha. Knocking into its side, clamping his jaws around its throat, he flipped it down hard before ripping out its throat. Looking around, his enforcers had made easy work of the bastards, Justin had relayed that they had managed to get in through the back door.

The silence echoed as the wolf’s stood panting, licking their fur of traitor’s blood.

We move forward, inside the complex, Brianna states three more full shifters right at the end of the corridor, no alarms detected so we move now

As one unit with Marcus and Connor he
ading at the front, they charged at the next barrier, teeth bared, claws extended.

Brianna cautiously opened the double doors, another turn to the left had her inching forward to look around the corner. One guard, two weapons. Taking a deep breath she knew he was a full shifter. Gesturing to Lizzy what she had found, her witty friend did the most amazing acting ever. Stepping out of her hiding place she sauntered towards him.

“Hey I am lost, your guards sent me down here”

Brianna practically rolled her eyes as her friend twirled her hair, pouting her lips.

“You should not be alone she wolf, the guards have strict orders when it comes to females”

Lizzy sent her power out to him, his shocked expression had him raising his guns at her. Frantically he tried over and over to pull the trigger but nothing happened.

“Whoops silly me” she laughed.

Brianna ran at full speed, bringing her elbow up on his face, the crack was nauseating but satisfying. Before he could recover she kicked high, her boot impacted with his head, the force snapping his neck instantly. His lifeless eyes fixed on her.

“Shit
Bri, you been practising honey?”

Looking at the door he was guarding, both her and Lizzy tried to push it open but it was solid. Eyes frantically scanned the surrounding frame.

“Palm scanner” Lizzy
exclaimed.

“Help
me with this idiot”

Taking the dead wolf under their shoulders, Brianna clasped his wrist firmly, the palm was still warm. Pressing it to the scanner she was relieved when the green light of authorised flashed. Dumping the body, they stood either side of the door, watching and waiting. A whimper sounded, so faint but pitiful.
Edging inside, one large cage sat in the middle. Three female wolves sat on the floor huddled together, their eyes completely focused on their new arrivals. One of them snarled, pushing herself in front of the other two.
