Yeah, I was open for shorty but I knew how to keep my head in the game and she respected that I was a busy businessman before she got with me. She didn’t seem like the type that would try to take that away from me or make me feel guilty about it. Naw, she was different and I knew it. No other chick compared to the one I had. I used to only think of women as fuck boxes until I came across the one that showed me differently.

She was the type of woman I needed in my life. I knew she was itching to get me inside her too. Nonetheless, I was going to make her wait as long as she could take. She wouldn’t get any dick until I knew she was seriously ready for it. Until then, I would eat that pussy like I was famished for a meal whenever she needed me to. Daisy was mine whether she knew it or not. She wasn’t going no where. When the time was right, shorty would come work by my side as the most powerful lawyer in Chicago. She just didn’t know it yet.

“Yeah,” I answered the ringing phone stepping out onto the terrace.

“Once again, I am left in the dark about everything my friend,” Mata’s voice blared through the phone.

“What is it this time, Mata?” I sighed feeling tired as hell of listening to his complaining.

“Word on the street is that someone is moving some serious weight up under the Phantom act. You know anybody that moves that kind of weight out there like that my friend?”

“Is that a fact? No, I can’t say that I do. I told you I’m falling back for a while,” I explained stroking the stress from my chin.

“Yeah, I heard what you said. But you could still have your ear to the pavement and know what’s going on in your streets.” Mata’s teeth were chattering. He only did that when he got nervous or anxious.

“I haven’t heard about anything called Phantom, Mata. Whoever it is obviously isn’t trying to be found.”

“Well I need them to get found. Shouldn’t nobody else’s shit be blowing through Chicago but my shit. That's my city. Mine,” Mata badgered. “You need a way to get work, right? Well I’ll front you some work if you find out who this character is flooding my streets with his shit?”

This nigga was crazy as hell but he wasn’t as smart as he thought he was. For him to say he would front me the weight like that was a hook up was actually an insult. He would front it to me and I would have to pay him the same high ass prices I had been paying him for years. That shit wasn’t right and it only negated the shit that I had going on that was good with Raul.

“I’ll keep you posted when I hear something, Mata.”

“Yeah you’ve probably got your lips wrapped around some young girl’s tit. That bitch has got you sucking so hard you can’t even see straight. Pull your head out of your ass and get on it.” He hung up like he did most times he was angry.

He was right. I did have my lips wrapped around a girl’s tit but not in the way he assumed. I didn’t give a fuck about Mata and his feelings anymore. He didn’t give a fuck about the people that made him so much money over the years so it was hard for me to give a fuck about him feeling some type of way just because someone else was filling these streets with that purer than pure shit. Something he couldn’t or more like wouldn’t provide.

“Morning beautiful,” I greeted Daisy as she turned over sitting up to find me sitting at the table staring back at her.

“Good morning, baby. What time is it?” She asked buckeyeing the stacks of money I was packing in a black duffle bag.

Manuel asked me to do small business with his cousin Franco down here in Miami to get him started. Now I was his connect. I didn't give shitty as prices neither. That's the way you ensured a motherfucka continued to shop with you. A quick ten grand and now I was not only flooding the streets of Chicago with product but Miami as well. This shit was only about to get bigger.

“It’s 8am. Get up and get that sexy ass dressed baby. We’ve got some business to take care of today.” Smirking at her nearly shocked expression. “Lobster cool for breakfast?”

“Huh? Oh yeah, I guess. I’ve never had lobster for breakfast. That seems like a weird combination,” Daisy guffawed as she rose from the bed walking her sexy thick ass on over towards me.

She planted a tender kiss on my lips standing on her tippy toes to do so. I tapped her ass friskily in response letting her know to go hop in the shower and get started getting dressed. She knew what to do and headed off. After packing all the money away, slipping a few stacks in my pocket, and packing the rest in the room safe, I dressed in a pair of black Michael Toschi casuals along with a pair of close fitting jeans and a dark blue V-neck tee. It was about seventy degrees in Miami today so I knew I would be straight with some jeans.

Mintues later the shower stopped. I sat back down in the chair next to the oversized screen TV waiting on her to make her way back in the room. The brunch meeting and conversation that I had with Jorge Perez yesterday before Daisy’s plane landed that evening replayed over and over in my head. It hit me that I was finally about to be making the moves that I had always dreamed of making ever since I started this shit.

“South Florida is a great source of quality life and fine people to work with you. Also, it’s a great business area with a very pro-business and entrepreneurial atmosphere,” Jorge insisted popping green grapes into his mouth one right after the other. “So tell me, why should I do business with you Mr.…”

“McCarter. Mr. Perez, like you I am an entrepreneur. I take pride in expanding and growing brands and making sure they are profitable. Like I said before, I reinvented club Creed back in Chicago and now it’s a multimillion dollar business,” I lied. Sometimes it was necessary to get ahead and get what you wanted.

“Yes, but why do you want to get into real estate? I’ve been in the high-rise condominium business for over thirty years. Miami’s skyline doesn’t need anybody else but me.” He took a sip of his cognac.

“I know for a fact that you need to revolutionize your expansion in order to bring bodies in your condos. People are leaving Miami because of the costs. But with my expertise, I guarantee that not only will I bring the flavor your company needs to keep bodies in your units but also to ensure they remain for years to come. Residual income is a win win, Mr. Perez.” Crossing my legs and straightening my tie, I continued, I also know that two of three of your condos high-rises were recently seized and you need to rebuild as soon as possible.”

I had a vision and a game plan. I just needed an investor and a partner to aid in that vision. His name carried weight and I needed to be able to join in the union of that until my name did so as well. That was the only way to be successful and not have vultures down my back trying to figure out how it was done. Jorge Perez was basically my distraction while I supplied his high-end customers with the purest coke they had ever experienced while making him and I even wealthier men in the process. His eye cut to me as he picked up his cigar taking a long drag.

“I like your tenacity Mr. McCarter. But in order to get in bed with you, I’m going to need, say a deposit of five million dollars cash. Up front. That's pennies compared to the amount of money I'm dropping into this new venture. That would ensure that you are all in with my next project, Hotel & Residences Brickell. When opened it will simply be dubbed The Brickell. Hotel on the bottom half and residences on the top. They’ll be built to resemble the twin towers from New York almost.” Perez gazed off at his perfect landscaping that stretched for miles.

“Five million. That’s the only contribution you need from me to get started?” I asked looking at him sternly. “And we’ll expand this in other major cities when the time is right, correct?”

“Correct.”

“You’ve got a deal sir.” I stood extending my hand sealing our business venture with a handshake. “We’ll be in touch Mr. Perez.”

“You’re not going to stay and finish your meal?” He called after.

“No. I’ve got some other business that I must attend to. Thanks.” I closed my suit jacket heading towards his maid who stood ready to escort me to the front door.

“You should really look into relocating to Miami. It’s beautiful here,” he bellowed as I continued on without a word.

This merger was going to be big, not only for me but also for the whole squad. This shit was always bigger than me. It was bigger than the money. This shit was about securing a future of long-term success. No one could be successful by remaining stagnant without a sure way of being able to move forward. Mata Amigos was a parasite on my success. I was glad to be rid of him even if I wasn’t completely rid of him just yet.

“Alright, I’m all ready,” Daisy emerged from the bathroom dressed in some blue jean high waist shorts and a dangling red crop top that was short in the front and covered a little booty in the back. She topped it off with some Louboutin heels that made me want to make her sit on my face right then.

“Damn girl.” I licked my lips. “You juicy as fuck.”

She blushed. “So what’s on the agenda for today, baby?”

“Shit, you and shopping. We’re going to get whatever it is you want out here.”

“Baby you’re spoiling me. You’d better stop. A girl could get too used to this.” Daisy winked sliding her crimson red Mac lipstick across her salacious lips as we headed out the door.

Chapter 14

Daisy

Back At Home

Sunday morning we were back at our front doorsteps. Quince had just finished placing my bags on the porch. Unintentionally, I wasn’t happy at all to be home. I wasn’t in the mood to go to class the next day. All I wanted to do was lay up under him and bask in his loveliness. He stood in front of me holding me as we swayed with the warm breeze. His lips rested on my forehead as if he was dreading letting me go as well.

“Aye, I just got an important text not too long ago so I’ve gotta go handle some business. So go on in the house and relax, take a nice bubble bath and think of me,” Quince grinned giving me a final peck on the forehead.

“You know I will.”

“Hey, if you ever get sick of being over there with your folks, you can always come over here and get in the Jacuzzi. I’ve got plenty of food, a bar, and nice big ol’ bed for you to relax in,” he offered as my eyes lit up. “I mean if you want. You know.”

“Hmm. Quince, are you giving me the keys to your place?” I smirked as he handed me a single brass key.

“Looks like it huh?” His lips touched mine briefly. “Just make yourself at home and uh, no parties.”

“Ha. It’s never a party without you baby.”

“Is that a fact? Well I should be back early so don’t start without me.” His voice was so warm and sensuous.

“I won’t. I promise.” Inside I was giddy as fuck but outside I was cool, calm, and collected.

“Alright, I’ll call you later.” He walked off heading for the car as I headed inside the house. “And hey, don’t go in the basement. My dogs are down there and I haven’t properly introduced you to them yet. They won’t be friendly to you if you try to befriend them by yourself.”

“All dogs love me,” I kidded. “But I got the drift.”

His smile as he took off assured me that he loved my quirky sense of humor. Wishing I were going with him I marched in the house. I quickly snatched up as many bags as I could to take them to my room in one trip but was halted by momma coming to greet me at the door.

“So, how was Miami, party girl?”

“Uh, it was cool momma. We just kicked it,” I answered really not in the mood to gossip right then.

“Well, I’m just glad you made it back in time for school tomorrow. You had me worried there for a minute,” she pressed placing her hands on her hips.

“Momma, you know I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize that.” I plopped down on the couch knowing I wasn’t going to be able to get away from this woman that easily. I dropped all the bags, picking back up only one of them. “Here, I bought you something back.”

“Thanks baby.”

“You’re not even going to open it?”

“No. You have good taste. I know whatever it is, I’m sure I’ll love it.” She remained hovering over me scowling as I rubbed the stress from my temples.

“Well what is it lady? Just say what’s on our mind,” I breathed.

“It’s nothing. All I’m saying is that it’s only been a little over a month since you’ve been messing with this guy and he’s whisking you off to here and there and I don’t even know where. Why would a man do so much in such short time?” Momma huffed before taking a seat next to me on the couch. “Do you know anything about him, Daisy?”

“I know plenty momma.”

“Okay well what does he do for a living that he lives in this modest neighborhood but is able to fly all around the world at the drop of a hat?”

“Momma, that’s his job. He has to do things like that to get paid. He’s a businessman. That’s what they do, you know. Besides, did it ever occur to you that he might live in this neighborhood because he likes it? Not everyone likes to flash and spend their money all carelessly on material things and stuff, lady.”

What the fuck was wrong with her? I was having the time of my life, the best moments I could remember since before my daddy past away and she was seemingly raining on my parade. Apart of me knew moving back in here with her after graduation was going to be a damn mistake. It’s cool when she is not meddling in my life but when she begins she never stops and that’s the annoying shit about her.
