Doug eased back onto the rug and Stewart followed him down, catching him in a kiss that made his toes curl. His hot mouth trailed over Doug’s chin then down to his neck. Doug closed his eyes, his back arching as Stewart’s lips and tongue slid along his neck to his collarbone.

Stewart shimmied downward on his knees but kept his mouth fused to Doug’s skin, dragging along his chest, tongue swirling around his nipple, hardening it.

“Stewart,” Doug whispered, fingers threading through his silky hair. “I...” He wasn’t sure what he wanted to say. What he felt had no words.

Fingers joined Stewart’s mouth as he trailed down Doug’s stomach, unzipping his jeans as his tongue swirled around his navel. That hot mouth moved to the valley of Doug’s hipbone as his jeans and boxers were dragged down to his thighs, his weeping cock freed, jutting up onto his belly. “You taste so good,” Stewart mumbled against his skin.

“Holy God,” Doug huffed. “You’re killing me.”

Stewart shuffled back, sliding Doug’s pants to his ankles. Doug looked down his body at Stewart, who grinned up at him, his fair skin glowing pink. “I hope not,” he said, slipping Doug’s shoes off. “I need you alive.” He tugged Doug’s jeans and boxers the rest of the way, leaving him nude.

On hands and knees, Stewart crawled back upward, lips coming down onto Doug’s mouth as he lowered his body. Doug moaned at the press of Stewart’s hot flesh, the weight of him, the insistent tongue searching his mouth, erection against his hip.

Stewart’s fingers laced with Doug’s and he eased his arms back over his head. Doug’s hips undulated as the two of them continued to kiss, the possessive grip of Stewart’s hands pinning his arms down nearly sending him over the edge. “I need you,” Doug said. “Need you...”

Stewart breathed against his lips. “Okay.” He pushed up and climbed off of Doug. “Stay right there.”

Doug propped himself up on his elbows and watched Stewart go to the couch and pick up the condom and lube, admiring his muscular thighs and the pale curve of his ass. He came back and lowered himself to his knees, straddling Doug’s thighs. Tearing open the condom packet with his teeth, he slid it out and immediately rolled it onto Doug’s cock, making him groan and lift his hips.

“Easy,” Stewart said, filling his palm with lube. “Patience.”

“I know,” Doug said, panting. “I just...want you.”

“You’ve got me,” Stewart said, coating Doug’s dick with lube. He rose up, gripping Doug’s shaft, hovering over him. “I’m all yours,” he said, and slid down onto him.

When he felt himself breach Stewart’s entrance, then that tight heat surrounding him, Doug let out a deep cry, his stomach shuddering as pleasure stole through his cock, tightening his balls and making his own channel clench.

Quad muscles bulging, Stewart rose again and eased back down, then leaned over and captured Doug’s mouth, kissing him passionately. Doug groaned into his mouth, tilting his hips, trying to get deeper.

But Stewart was in control, his movements agonizing slow, clamping around Doug’s throbbing cock as he glided his hips up and down, kissing him all the while, their chests rubbing together. His hands came to rest on either side of Doug’s face as the kissing grew more savage, teeth nicking his lips. Doug’s cock plunged in and out of Stewart with each slide of his hips.

Stewart broke the lip lock but continued to ride him. “How do you feel?”

Doug held his eyes, gripping his shoulders. “I like it this way,” he said softly. “With you on top.”

Stewart smiled. “Me, too.”

Stewart kissed him again. As Doug devoured the other man’s mouth he pumped his hips, matching Stewart’s slow rhythm. His hands left Stewart’s shoulders and gripped his thighs, bucking hard into him each time he glided down, their flesh slapping together. Stewart’s hands tightened around his face, his kiss hard and insistent, owning him.

Stewart moaned and broke the kiss as his hips doubled their rhythm suddenly, riding Doug hard and fast, making him dizzy as his breath came in pants. “Oh God,” Doug said as Stewart slapped down on him over and over, their gazes locked. “Fuck,” he whispered. “Gonna come in you.”

Stewart shifted back onto his knees, sitting upright. “How soon?” he asked breathily, taking hold of his own cock as he continued to lift and lower his hips, thigh muscles flexing.

“Soon,” Doug said, pumping his hips. “Fuck...soon...”

Stewart jerked himself fast as he changed his rhythm, slamming down onto Doug with new vigor, driving his cock deeper with each thrust. “God, Doug,” he said through clenched teeth. “I’m ready,” he huffed, his hand becoming a blur on his dick. “I wanna come with you still hard inside me.”

Doug struggled to keep from climaxing, to give Stewart what he wanted, but his orgasm edged toward the cliff, pushing him closer with each hard plunge into that tight canal. Then Stewart let out a deep, guttural cry, and when Doug saw the creamy fluid spill out onto his hand, he let go.

“Ah!” Doug came so hard he thought he’d pass out, the pleasure deep and scalding. His fingers bit into Stewart’s ass cheeks, pulling him down as his hips bucked upward, bliss flooding through him as his seed flooded the condom.

Stewart unhanded himself and pressed his palms onto Doug’s chest, clenching around his dick, rising and falling, prolonging the climax until the last of his fluid was spent.

“Holy shit,” Doug gasped, stopping Stewart’s hips, too sensitive now for the friction of his movements. “Holy shit,” he said again, heart hammering in his chest.

Stewart reached down and carefully drew Doug’s cock out of him. He lifted himself off Doug’s body, then fell over onto his back beside him, breathing hard.

Damn,
Doug thought, catching his breath.
Could I get used to this
.

It had been satisfying enough the first night they’d spent together, stroking each other off on the pullout bed, because he was just so into this guy. But sex this good, combined with the simple fact that it
was
Stewart...Doug felt ruined. Destroyed. And at that moment, he couldn’t imagine that anything else, that
anyone
else would be good enough for him again.

Doug turned onto his side and looked at Stewart, who stared up at the ceiling, his breathing slow and steady. Sweat dotted his brow. He reached over and took Doug’s hand, but didn’t look at him. That stab of insecurity tried to return as Doug wondered if once again, Stewart would go quiet after sex. If the silence would come, and he would wake up cold and alone after Stewart crept out in the dead of night.

“I’m moving out,” Stewart said.

Doug stopped breathing for a moment. “What?”

Stewart’s head turned and he looked at Doug. “I’m leaving Corey.”

Chapter Seventeen

Doug brought two beers into the living room and handed one to Stewart, who sat on the end of the couch, leaning against the arm with his knees drawn up. He now wore a pair of Doug’s pajama bottoms with his blue tee shirt. Doug had changed into pajamas as well, and as he scooped a Dorito into the dip on the coffee table, he chuckled.

“What?” Stewart asked, grinning as he took a sip of beer.

“I don’t know,” he said. “I just got this weird feeling. We’re having a sleepover like a couple of preteen girls. We’re gonna eat snacks and talk about boys.”

Doug plunked down at the other end of the couch, his feet up, facing Stewart. Stewart smiled at him. “Thank you,” he said. “For this. I needed it tonight.”

“It’s been my pleasure, believe me,” Doug said. “So. Are you all right?”

Stewart shrugged. “Corey’s been my best friend for a really long time. It hurts. But it’s happening. And it will be all right, eventually.”

Doug’s lips tightened as he looked back at Stewart. He wasn’t sure how much probing he should do, how many questions he should ask. But there was one that dominated his thoughts, and he could hold it in no longer. “Does this have anything to do with me?”

Beer halfway to his mouth, Stewart paused. He took a sip, then lowered it. “No,” he said. “And yes.”

Doug opened his mouth to speak, but Stewart held up a hand. “I know what you’re thinking,” Stewart said. “You don’t want to be the cause of anyone’s breakup, especially after what happened to you. You’re not the cause. But you’re part of a bigger picture. I know this doesn’t make sense right now, and I want to tell you all of it. But I want to wait a while. Can you do that?”

Doug shook his head. “I don’t really understand what you’re saying.”

“I know,” Stewart said. He shook his head, blinking slowly. “I’ve given this a lot of thought. When I do explain it to you, I think you’ll understand. But I need you to give me some time. And I want to ask you to trust me. To have faith that I know I’m doing the right thing.”

“You’re really leaving him?”

Stewart nodded.

“Does he know?”

“I think so. A lot happened last night, a lot of revelations. I’m sorry to be so vague and shit, I really am, Doug. But I have my reasons.”

“You’ve got to tell me something,” Doug said. “I’m kind of freaking out because I really like you, but I like Corey too, you know?”

Stewart snickered. “When did that happen?”

Doug laughed. “He’s all right. I’ve gotten to know him a bit better. You told me I’d like him once I got to know him. You were right. He’s weird and eccentric and there are things about him I
really
don’t understand. But I don’t want to be the bad guy who ruined his relationship.”

Stewart nodded, taking a sip of beer. “You’re not, I promise. We had a big blowout last night, and Corey revealed some things that showed me
I
don’t know him as well as I thought. This would have happened whether you were around or not, okay?”

“Okay,” Doug said. “Then what did you mean? When you said I’m part of the bigger picture?”

Stewart stared at Doug, silent for a long moment, indecision in his eyes. “Do you want to keep seeing me?”

“More than anything,” Doug said before he had a chance to think about it. He winced internally, wondering if he was coming on too strong.

“More than anything?” Stewart asked, eyebrows raised.

Heat stung Doug’s cheeks. He shrugged.

“Do you mean that?” Stewart asked.

Doug smiled. “What can I say?”

“You can say what you feel,” Stewart said. “And be honest.”

Sighing, Doug rubbed his forehead, looking down.

“Look at me,” Stewart said.

Doug met his eyes.

“Tell me what you’re thinking.”

“Okay.” He shrugged, fidgeting with a couch pillow. “I can’t help thinking you’d be perfect for me. I don’t know how you feel, or what you’re going through. But if you want honesty, there it is. I want you in my life.”

Stewart stretched his leg out, his foot brushing Doug’s. “I want you in my life, too. And it’s gonna be all good. You just have to trust me, and give me a little time. If you think you can.”

“I can do that.”

Stewart smiled. “Good.”

“Where will you go?”

“I have a place lined up. I’m gonna call Corey in the morning. Then I’m packing up and leaving.”

Doug straightened up. “Already?”

He nodded. “I didn’t have much when I moved in with Corey. Most of what’s upstairs is his. I make a lot of money and I don’t have many expenses. I’ve saved a lot. I’ll be fine. I just want to do it and get it over with.”

“You’re sure about this?” Doug asked. “I’m not trying to talk you out of it, believe me. But you’re really sure?”

Stewart sighed. “Corey and I have reached the point of no return. It’s painful, and it’s going to be hard. But after what’s happened...there’s no going back now. I can’t be in a relationship with him anymore. For a lot of reasons. What we had is broken. It’s time. I’m leaving.”

Doug stared at him for a long time, conflicted. “Are you sure you want to stay here with me tonight? I understand if you need your space.”

Stewart set his beer down and shuffled over next to Doug, wrapping an arm around him. “I want to sleep with you tonight. Do you want me to stay?”

Doug kissed him, relishing the now familiar taste of his mouth. He pulled back and nodded. “Come to bed.”

****

When Doug awoke Sunday morning to the sun streaming through his bedroom window, Stewart’s warm body was wrapped around him, one leg draped over his hip. He rolled over and Stewart grumbled in his sleep, brows knit together like he was concentrating on something very hard. His lashes fluttered, then he opened his eyes. Seeing Doug, he smiled. “Were you watching me sleep?”

“Only for a minute. I just woke up.”

“Was I snoring and drooling?” Stewart asked.

“Yes,” Doug said. “It was disgusting.”

Stewart grabbed Doug and rolled on top of him, pressing him into the bed. “I’m gonna drool on you,” he threatened.

Doug laughed. “Please don’t.”

Stewart moved his hips, rubbing his stiff erection against Doug’s groin.

“Wow,” Doug said. “Someone’s awake.”

“Wide awake.”

Doug brushed his palm over the extra morning beard shadow along Stewart’s dimpled cheeks.

“You’re wearing too many clothes,” Stewart said, swiveling his hips.

Doug’s cock swelled in his pajama pants. “So are you.”

They made love slowly that morning, taking their time, kissing for ages before hands began to roam and their need took over. Doug got the sense it would be the last time they’d be together for a while, and melancholy set in even as he climbed between Stewart’s legs and pushed his aching cock inside of him.

He kept his rhythm languid, wanting to stay inside of Stewart as long as possible. Stewart seemed to share in this desire, linking his legs around Doug’s as he lifted and opened to him, but keeping his hip movements slow.

After they climaxed, they remained wrapped around each other, twisted in the sheet, neither moving for a long time. Finally, Stewart unraveled himself and climbed out of bed, tugging his jeans on. “I have a
lot
to do today. None of it fun.”

Doug sat up. “I know. Anything I can do to help?”

Pulling his shirt on, Stewart leaned over and kissed Doug on the lips. “You can have patience. And trust me, like we talked about. Yeah?”
