“You look outstanding in that skirt.” He grinned, leaning back as we walked, his eyes taking in my attire. “Fucking awesome, in fact!”

I laughed and shook my head. He squeezed my hand as I led him back to the car.

I popped the boot, and he manoeuvred his suitcase inside.

“So how was the wedding?” I asked as we took our seats in the car.

“Boring,” he said, moving in for a kiss across the gear stick. I kissed him back and he placed his hand on my chin. “I thought about you every day.”

“You did?” I whispered with a smile.

“Of course.” He looked me in the eyes and nodded. “What about you? Any sexy dancing with that little friend of yours?”

“I was miserable without you,” I groaned as he kissed my neck.

“Good,” he said, making his way back to my lips again. “You’re mine, Sophie King, I don’t care what you say.”

I groaned in agreement as he tried to shift closer to me, and I turned to let him have more of my mouth. He ran his hand along my stomach and then up under my t shirt to find my white lacy bra, his other hand resting on the small of my back. He circled my nipples with his thumb, and they stood to attention. My whole body was on fire with his touch, and I forgot that we were in a public multi-story car park at the airport. We could have been in the middle of a supermarket and I wouldn’t care so long as he didn’t stop touching me. I ran my fingers through his hair and his fingertips found my nipples.

“Your body missed me, Soph,” he teased. “I’ve been pulling myself off to the thought of these nipples for two weeks.”

I turned into him and lifted my knee slightly onto my seat as he continued to brush me gently and kiss me urgently. The other hand that rested on my back rubbed me softly, and slowly he moved it round to the thigh that I had lifted onto the seat. He moved his fingers up my thigh slowly leaving a line of goose pimples in their wake. I gasped as he reached my underwear and ran his finger over my sweet spot. He kissed me more ferociously as he felt my arousal through the cotton. I pulled him closer to me as he snaked his fingers inside my underwear, moving one and then two fingers inside me. He pushed my body to feel pleasure as he continued to graze my nipples and fuck me with his fingers.

He tapped me in exactly the right place as I widened my legs to allow him deeper access. I could feel my body responding to his touch and my orgasm building.

“Come for me, Soph,” he whispered, which made me more excited.

“Oh my God,” I said, thrusting my hips towards him as he continued to push deeper and deeper. I had lost all rational thought as I shouted his name and rode him to my climax. He kissed me as I came, and I fell into him like jelly.

“That good?” he whispered, pulling away from me.

I nodded shyly. “How about I make you feel good?” I said tentatively.

He raised an eyebrow. “How exactly?” I shook my head and pushed him back in his seat, running my hand down his torso and reaching his crotch that was already standing to attention. I looked up to him through my lashes and unbuckled his belt. He helped me loosen it and undid his button fly. I reached inside and pulled his length out, leaning down and taking him into my mouth. He groaned with pleasure as I slid my tongue down his shaft and took him all the way in. I pulled back and circled his cock with my tongue, teasing him, and I could feel his response as he hardened even more in my mouth. I moved up and down, again and again, licking and teasing with my tongue and he became more and more out of breath.

“Oh God Soph,” he groaned, “I’m gonna come, is that Okay?”

I nodded and took him deeper into my mouth. He took short, sharp breaths as he grabbed my hair in his hands and held it back so he could see my lips wrapped around his dick. I moved up and down faster and faster as he stiffened into the seat, his head thrown back, and released into my mouth. I slowed down and took everything that he had to give. He relaxed into the chair, and I moved upwards to face him, he kissed me and grinned at me hedonistically.

I sat back into my seat and reached down for the bottle of diet coke in my bag, taking a swig. He took the bottle from me and helped himself to a sip.

“Best blow job ever,” he said, touching my cheek tenderly.

I shook my head. “That is definitely propaganda, it doesn’t count when you say it on a come down from the most recent blow job.”

“It’s always the best with you,” he said, looking into my eyes. I broke the eye contact, embarrassed, and he coughed awkwardly, redressing himself.

“Shall we go and get some lunch?” I said, buckling my seat belt.

“Okay,” he said, fastening his seat belt, too. He placed his hand on mine as I started the engine.

“Great surprise, Soph,” he whispered, and I looked at him with a knowing smile.

Nineteen
– Just contented

Now

The Friday afternoon that Kyle came home from work to find me anxiously waiting was a turning point in our relationship. We were both able to admit that we wanted each other
, and I didn’t want to imagine my life without Kyle from that point on. I was sure that Ashley would consider it too soon to be described as someone’s girlfriend so quickly after Simon, but Kyle had brought me back to life. He hadn’t just saved me from my depression; he had reminded me of the happy Sophie that I always used to be. I wanted to be the Sophie that I was right now, here with him forever, and I didn’t want to lose him ever again.

After he returned home with supplies, he carried me back to his bedroom where he took his time removing my clothes and kissing me. We made love slowly and soberly for the first time in ten years. I loved the feel of his skin against mine, and the little sounds he made when he was inside me. I watched his face and it made me smile, to me he was just breathtaking. We lay cuddling and chatting for a while, and afterwards he dressed in his boxer shorts, leaving me in bed to get the take away pizza menu. I caught sight of myself in the bathroom mirror as I escaped to the toilet and smiled at my reflection. My hair was a mess and my lips were swollen, I looked completely Kyle-d. He always left me looking thoroughly worked over, something no one had been able to do since him, and I loved that look on me.

“What do you want on your pizza?” he shouted through the bathroom door to me.

“Ham and pineapple,” I shouted back.

“That’s not very adventurous, Soph, what about some pepperoni or chilli beef?”

“Sorry I thought it was a question of what I wanted?” I laughed, “silly me.”

“Fine, point taken, I’ll order some of both.” He walked away from the door, and I quickly jumped in the shower. I let the hot water cascade down my back and let it relax my muscles. I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of us naked together. He was making me smirk when I was on my own for goodness sake. I made my way back to my bedroom and grabbed some leggings and an oversized t shirt to relax in. I found Kyle in the lounge, relaxing on the sofa now wearing sweat pants and a t shirt.

“Hi beautiful,” he said, stretching his hand out for me. I sat next to him and curled under his arm.

“Hi,” I said.

“Pizza is on the way.”

I hummed with contentment as we sat wrapped around each other, watching television, and waiting for our take away. Everything about the situation felt so natural, and I was immensely happy. We ate pizza and some of the snacks that Kyle had bought, watched Friday night television, and lay on the sofa, him behind me with his arm draped over my body. We were both exhausted from the night before and fell asleep in front of the television.

I awoke to Kyle kissing me. “Bed time,” he whispered.

He led me to his bedroom and we stripped off our clothes, crawling into bed with pure exhaustion. Kyle pulled me to him and kissed the top of my head. Nothing needed to be said, but I knew by his silence that he was content, but I couldn’t help but worry. Something this good could never last forever surely?. Now, while it was just between us it was amazing, but how would it be when we had to share it with everyone else?

The next day we slept in, and I woke up laid across Kyle’s chest. His breathing was deep and even, I knew he was still asleep. I crept from under his arm and pulled on my oversized t shirt and pyjama bottoms, then made my way into the kitchen to make a cup of tea. I was still getting used to what our relationship had become and how easy it was. I turned the kettle on and sat at the breakfast bar, my head resting on a fisted hand, in a daze.

“Morning,” Kyle said from the doorway. He looked amazing in only his boxer shorts. He approached me and kissed my head, walking behind the kitchen island to get the cups out.

“Morning,” I said. “I thought you were still asleep.”

“It was cold without you.” He smirked. “What do you want to do today?” he asked, leaning into the counter facing me.

“I don’t know.” I shrugged. “Surprise me.”

“Well, it’s a nice day, we could go to Camden market, have a picnic, or a pub tea?”

“Yes,” I said.

“Which one?”

“All three.” I nodded defiantly. He laughed and shook his head, walking around to where I was seated.

“All three it is then,” he said, spinning the chair until he could push himself between my legs. He leant down and kissed me, “but I’m not ready to get up just yet.” he said pulling me to him.

“You feel pretty up to me,” I said with raised eyebrows, reaching down to the tent in his boxers.

He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist as he walked back to the bedroom. “Oh I’m up all right.” He laughed.

We stayed in bed for another couple of hours. When we weren’t making love I was tucked under Kyle’s chin hugged to his chest. It was bliss and there was nowhere I would rather be. It was only when I was alone that my mind wandered, when we were together I didn’t even think of the implications of our actions. I couldn’t see how this could ever go wrong.

“Right, Miss King,” Kyle said, his arm draped over my naked body, “Let’s get up and go to Camden Town.”

“Okay,” I said spritely, sitting up. “I’ll jump in the shower.”

“I’ll come with you,” Kyle said sitting up.

“No way.” I kissed him lightly and pushed him back down, “I actually need to get ready so relax and give me an hour.”

“An hour?” He sighed, falling back on the pillows. “Better not join you then or we won’t leave the house.”

I laughed and made my way to my en suite. We hadn’t even eaten breakfast or had a cup of tea this morning. Kyle had a good way of distracting me. I took a hot shower and then chose something to wear for the day. I was sat on my bed drying my hair in my knickers and bra when Kyle came in and brought me a cup of tea and some toast. He was fully dressed.

“Looking good, Soph,” he said, placing the cup and plate on the bed side table, kissing the top of my head.

I styled my hair slightly, straightened my fringe, and applied some make up. I dressed in some casual jeans, my Converse and a pink shirt over a vest.

“Ready,” I announced, walking into the open plan living area.

“Great.” Kyle jumped up from the sofa and walked over to me, throwing an arm around my shoulder and pulling me to him.

We made our way down to the car, and in the lift he kissed me softly on the lips. I savoured every moment, and even though he didn’t say anything I knew that I meant just as much to him as he did to me. Despite the sense of belonging, there was a definite undercurrent of how long can this could last.

I relaxed into my seat as Kyle’s passenger and watched the city fly by as we made our way to Camden. It was a beautiful, sunny day, but it wasn’t overly hot. It was already August, and I only had two weeks until school started again, so I had to make the most of my time in London. We found a parking space after circling the surrounding area for a while and Kyle took my hand as we made our way into Camden markets.

“Wow this is the busiest place I’ve ever seen,” I said wide-eyed, turning to him.

He laughed. “You clearly have never been to China.”

“You’ve been to China?” I asked. There was so much about Kyle that I didn’t know anymore.

“Yeah.” He looked down, a little embarrassed. “I’ve been around.”

“Oh you have, have you?” I teased.

He pulled me into a hug and kissed my lips. “Nowhere else I’d rather be than here, though.”

“What, London?” I said smirking.

“Wherever you are,” he said quietly, and I kissed him back fiercely.

We sloped into the crowds and weaved in between locals, tourists, and marketers in the brilliant sunshine. It was a first to be able to walk hand in hand, not worried about anyone seeing us, and behaving just like any other couple. There were colourfully dressed people everywhere, selling anything that you could imagine. I sampled food from all over the world, and we browsed stalls that sold things ranging from DVDs to magnificent wooden carvings. I bought some flowers and a dream catcher that read:

May life be everything that we see in our dreams

It touched me, and the sentimental fool in me today remembered those nights years ago when the only way I could sleep was to imagine Kyle’s face. Those first few months at university were a struggle, and I used to imagine when and how I would see him again. I used to wish that he would track me down, that he would appear at my door and make me realise that we had to be together at whatever cost. That didn’t happen, I made sure of it, but a girl had to dream. After I met Simon, I didn’t have to dream anymore, and finally I could forget. The problem was that when Simon dumped me, lying in my old bed, in my old room the only way I could sleep was to imagine Kyle’s face again. Not Simon’s. That first night he came home I did wonder if it was just a dream, but it wasn’t, he did come. He saved me.

I squeezed his hand at the thought and he squeezed mine back. We were surrounded by people shouting, laughing, screaming, buying, and selling. It was awesome, and I was in my element.

“So you like Camden?” Kyle turned to me with a brilliant grin.

“Yes.” I nodded. “It’s crazy.”

“Shall we get a sandwich and sit on the grass?”

“Great,” I said, suddenly starving.

We got two hot chicken and stuffing sandwiches and found a spot on the nearby grass to sit. The sun was beating down, and so I stripped my shirt off and sat in just my vest, trying to tackle the huge sandwich. Kyle laughed at me as I tried to take a massive bite, only to have half of it fall into my lap.

“God you’ve never been sexier,” he chuckled sarcastically.

“Oh yeah?” I said with a full mouth. “You think this is sexy you should see me eat spare ribs!”

We ate and then sprawled back onto the grass, people watching. I lay with my head on Kyle’s stomach as he stroked my hair.

“You happy, Soph?” he asked as I closed my eyes and let the sun warm my face.

“Yes,” I whispered.

“Good.”

“You?” I asked.

“Yes,” he said, his fingers stroking my hair absent-mindedly.

We wandered through Camden some more and found ourselves local pubs. I had a couple of glasses of wine and Kyle had a pint. We couldn’t go crazy, as he had to drive.

“So is this where you bring all your dates?” I asked, with a smirk.

“Dates?” he laughed. “Is this a date?”

“Well what is it then?” I asked, cocking my head to the side.

“I don’t know. Life. Us.”

I nodded. “So where do you usually take girls on dates then?”

“Is this your way of scoping out my relationship history?” he asked with a grin, leaning back in his chair.

“Maybe,” I said.

“Well, not much to tell, Soph.”

“I doubt that,” I said, leaning forward. “Looking like that, you’ve always been trouble, and I bet you’ve had your fair share.”

“Trouble, eh?” he laughed, “and what do I look like?”

“You know you look good.” I raised my eyebrows. “You’ve always known that.”
