“See you later brother,” Max said as Jax walked away.

Chapter Two

Megan walked into Jennifer’s large mansion and smiled. She was truly happy that her best friend had found her happy ever after, and Phoenix did treat her like a queen. Jennifer greeted her at the door with a hug.

“Tell me how it went,” Jennifer said. She had called Megan when she was heading to the café, and she was the only
person, besides herself that knew she was in love with Max.

“Well…he wants to share me with his twin brother.” Megan sat down on the couch and Jennifer turned to face her with her mouth hanging open.

“You’re kidding, right?” She grabbed the white baby monitor and turned it on. Megan shook her head and her best friend narrowed her green eyes. “I’ll have Phoenix take care of him. I can’t believe he asked you to do that. He hasn’t talked to you since my wedding and then he texted you saying he wanted to meet, what an ass.”

Megan shrugged, she didn’t really know what to think about it. A part of her wants to jump on Max and Jax because hell, they were the mo
st gorgeous men she had ever seen. “I don’t want you to do anything, let me deal with it.”

Jennifer smiled at her.
“Megan, I just want you happy and if it takes two hunky men they so be it.” Megan bit her bottom lip because she hated keeping anything from her best friend and Jennifer could always tell when she was. “Spill it, I know you’re keeping something.”

Megan sighed
because being different used to terrified her to death, but now it didn’t. After Jennifer found out she was dating an incubus and she was only half human Megan freaked out and left her best friend when she was needed the most. She would never forgive herself for leaving, even though Jennifer had. “Max, doesn’t think I am one-hundred percent human. And I have thought I wasn’t for a while, I mean he would have drained me by now, right?” If there was one thing about Max and her sex life it was that it wasn’t boring. Max knew how to please a woman, and how to drive her crazy. Having Jax join them made her heart race. He was different than Max, he seemed more rough and a bad boy.

“How do you feel about that?”

To be honest, she didn’t mind it because it meant she could live longer. It also meant someone had lied to her about her family. Her parents aged with grey hair, and wrinkled skin. If she was immortal it would mean her parents weren’t who she thought they were, either her mother cheated on her father or she was adopted. Megan shrugged. “I don’t know what to think.”

“You know when I found out I was upset that I was lied to, but after everything was done and said I realized I was lied to, to protect me. Now I will live a long ass time with the man I love and our beautiful children.” Jennifer grabbed Megan’s hands, and smiled at her. “So…tell me about Max’s twin brother.”

Megan chuckled. “Well, he looks like Max, but more in a bad boy way, he has an attitude about him because he knows how he affects women and he doesn’t care. But he wants to make sure I’m not human before he thinks about sharing me, because he doesn’t want to drain me and lose his soul.” She and Max hadn’t really talked about that, what she knew of it came from Jennifer.

Megan knew that the man she was falling in love with had many sexual partners, and at first it bothered her. Now
she knew he did it to live, but every time a pretty woman would stare at him she wondered if he had fucked her.

“I understand, but you have to think about yourself. I have never seen you this happy before, and I don’t want to see your heart broken because of him. Do you think what you two have is it for you?”

“Yes,” she said without thinking twice about it. He was what she had always thought of when she chose a husband, he was well off, handsome, and he cared for her. She wasn’t sure if he loved her, because every time she would come close to telling him, he would distract her in some way.

Jennifer sighed, and leaned back onto the couch. “Then go for what you want, and you never know
, you may fall head over heels in love with his brother.” Jennifer knew Megan had dated before, but had never truly given her whole heart to someone. She knew that Max had stolen Megan’s heart.

Megan laughed.

“I heard from the detective about the break in. He thinks it was someone close to us.” Jennifer knew that Megan had a lot of people that didn’t like her. Most women hated her because she was beautiful and men got mad when she would turn them down. Before she’d met Max, Megan had been fooling around with Shane off and on for two years. “Detective Moore is going to contact you tomorrow. I told him you were dealing with something today.” Jennifer winked.

Megan glanced at the baby monitor. “When are my God children going to wake up? I have to leave soon so Max can draw my blood.
”

Jennifer shrugged as she stood up. “I don’t know, but do you want to see them?”

“Hell yes.” Megan jumped up with a huge smile on her face.

Jennifer really hadn’t had
a pregnancy with Eve and Evan, because an incubus pregnancy term was a matter of days to a week at most. But the babies were now growing as human babies would.

Megan followed behind Jennifer up the stairs, and they quietly walked into the twin’s bedroom. The room was decorated in half pink and the other half in blue with a light pink and a light blue crib.
The babies took Megan’s breath away, they were so beautiful. Megan placed her hand over her heart and turned to her best friend. “Jenny, they are the most beautiful babies I have ever seen. You and your sex god need to make more.”

Jennifer shook her head, and laughed. “Not yet, these two need to be a little older or I will lose my head. They are such a handful, I couldn’t handle anymore. Besides I think you sho
uld have the next incubus baby.”

Megan laughed, she knew she wasn’t ready to become a mother, she wanted to have more time with Max and maybe her life would include Jax.
“I’m good. I will just come and steal your babies when I want one.” Her pocket vibrated and she knew who the text message would be from. She smiled at Jennifer and quietly walked out of the twin’s bedroom. She reached into her back pocket and pulled out her large smartphone she opened the new text message from Max.

Meg
, when come by I would like to talk to you alone for a few minutes.

Megan sighed loudly, she had never been with someone that could make her want to drop everything for them. She turned around when she heard Jennifer closing the door. “I’m going to have to go, but we need to do dinner soon. I want to see my God children awake.” She put her phone back in her pocket, and hugged her best friend.

“I understand you need to know what you are, plus you need to deal with Max.” Jennifer pulled away from their hug with a smile on her face. “I think you need someone like Max in your life to love you, and if he comes with a sexy as sin twin brother I say, go for it and don’t look back.”

Megan looked past
her friend and saw Phoenix watching them; she knew he still didn’t really like her and she couldn’t blame him. When she’d first really met him, she announced that he took her Jennifer’s virginity in front of his whole office. She smiled at him, and he just arched an eyebrow. “I love you, Jennifer, and I am happy you found Phoenix.” Anytime someone mention Phoenix to Jennifer she would light up like the fourth of July.

“And you might have found yourself two guys to love. I want you to call me after you meet with D
etective Moore tomorrow.”

She nodded and walked away from her friend.
Forty-five minutes later she was parking her car in front of Davis Care. She had been there a couple of times to drop lunch off to Max, but she had never been inside. He’d always run out to her. She took a deep breath, reached for her purse that was on the passage seat and she quickly got out of the car and walked toward the building. Once inside she looked around. Pictures of babies lined the wall and she walked to the front desk. A gorgeous blonde with bright blue eyes smiled at her.

“Hello, do you have an appointment?” she asked with a smile on her flawless face.

“Hmm…kind of, Max is expecting me.” She bit her bottom lip.

“Megan Hinder?” she asked in a sweet tone, and Megan nodded. “Follow me,” she said and stood up
. She motioned for Megan to follow and she did. The office looked like any other doctor office, the walls were a pale blue color.

The receptionist led her to a room, and smiled at her. “Doctor Davis will be with you in a few minutes.” The beautiful blonde walked out of the room, and Megan’s ey
es went to the poster on the wall. This wasn’t her first time in an OB office, she knew what would be on the walls, but she read the posters as a way to pass the time and calm her nerves.

If there was one thing in the
world she hated, it was needles. She never was able to give blood, because when she would see the needle she would pass out. She hoped she wouldn’t embarrass herself in front her Max. Megan took a deep breath when she heard the door opening behind her, and Max’s scent wrapped around her.

“Hello again
, Megan.”

he looked over her shoulder at him, and she trembled when she saw his wicked grin. She never thought he could look sexier to her, but in his white lab coat he looked like something she would dream of. A woman came in behind him with a tray that held the needle, and some tubes.

“Thank you
, Erin, I would like to do this one alone please,” Max said without taking his green eyes away from hers. The older woman smiled at Megan and walked back out of the room closing the door behind her leaving her and her sexy doctor.

She was the one to break their eye contact, he knew how he affected her and he loved it. He didn’t use his incubus powers on her, because truth be told
, he didn’t need it. He was what she wanted, and she was madly in love with him.

“I know you don’t like to have your blood drawn, and if I didn
’t need to do this I wouldn’t. But I think you need to know what you are, because we both know you aren’t human or I would have lost my soul with you.” He ran his fingers down her bared arm, and she forced her eyes back up to his.

She had nev
er acted shy in front of guys. She was the one who was confident, but with Max her guard always came down.

He leaned closer to her so their lips were almost touching. “When I take your blood I want you to keep your eyes on mine, okay?”

There was no trusting her voice, so she nodded.

He reached behind him, and she knew he had it in his hand
, but she kept her eyes on his. When she felt the cool alcohol swab on her, she didn’t flinch because she was staring into his eyes, a part of her wondered if he was using some of his power on her to keep her calm. If he was she didn’t care, because she wanted to know what she was.

He leaned down to her arm and gently kissed a tan color band aid. She arched her eyebrows at him because she
’d felt nothing. “All done, it wasn’t that bad was it?”

“You used
your power on me didn’t you?”

H
e looked guilty, and nodded.

She sighed and reached out to cup his face with her hands. “Thank you,” she whispered, and he looked up at her with a charming smile on his handsome face.

“I didn’t want to hurt you.” He leaned in and kissed her, he kissed her as if he was staving and he pressed his body into hers to make her lay down.

It had been over
a month since they last had sex. He needed to feed every night.
So who was he feeding off of?
She turned her head to the side breaking their passionate kiss. “Who have you been feeding on?”

H
e closed his eyes, and placed his forehead on hers. “Do you really want to know? Because you know I won’t lie to you.” He opened his eyes, but kept his forehead on hers.

She didn’t want to know, but she knew he had been feeding on someone else. Sh
e felt her eyes burning with tears. “Why?” she whispered as she tightly closed her eyes shut.

Max was quiet for a minute, and it caused her heart to speed up. “Because, I needed to figure out what I was feeling for you. I have never had a
relationship.”

S
he opened her eyes and found his green eyes staring at her.

“I want to be with you, and if you don’t want to be with me and my brother then I will leave you alone. I’ll have Erin call you with your test results, but if you want to try to be with me I will do everything in my power to make you happy.
” He rubbed the tip of his nose against hers.

“Max, I don’t want to lose you and I do want to try
, but I don’t know if I can handle you and Jax.”

He grinned at her.
“I think you are woman enough to handle me and him, are you willing to try with him?”

S
he’d had a fantasy of having two men worship her body, she nodded.

“You’re amazing, you know that right?” He got off of her, and helped her up.

“Max,” she asked and he looked at her. “I need to tell you something, it’s not easy for me, but I’m not known for holding things back.”

He looked worried
, but he took her hands in his. “Okay, but let’s go in my office.” He led her out of the room and toward his office.
