No way!
The gun fires off in the air and Aaron drops straight to the ground from the kick. Sparky lands on his feet, right where he was just standing and raises his body up. He takes off like a swan from the lake.
What a trip!
Sparky pounces on Aaron in no time, taking the gun from his hand.
Brax and I take off in a mad dash to him. With the gun in his hand, he looks down at Aaron, not moving a single muscle.
I’ve never seen Sparky so still.
“Sparks, I need the gun.” He starts pacing side to side, his eyes never leaving Aaron. He huffs and puffs deep breaths, then he stops.
“I told you that you couldn’t handle me, mother fucker,” Sparky grumbles in the lowest voice I’ve ever heard in my life, then kicks Aaron in the side.
I grab the gun from him and pat him on the back. I immediately put the safety on and toss it over by the drive. The last thing we need is the police drawing their weapons on us.
Sparky’s perfectly still again, but Ash is prowling slowly toward him. The man is completely zoned in on Sparks, and vice versa. Neither are seeing or hearing anything else but each other. Ash stops in front of Sparky. He slides his arms around Serge’s waist, one hand glides up to the back of his neck. Ash licks across his lips and pulls Serge to his mouth, giving him a long and deep kiss.
I look over at Brax and he’s grinning ear to ear. I wrap my arm around him, still shaking my head. He leans into my shoulder and I kiss his forehead.
Red and blue flashing lights come down the street. Once they are in front of the house, Ash and Sparky finally release from their lip lock.
“Did I ever tell you, I’ve been in kickboxing for the last eleven years? I learned all those flippy-spinning things there. They said I was pretty damn good, just like you tell me I’ll make a good manager one day, boss.” He jumps on Ash, locking his feet behind his back.
“You can be my body guard anytime, Serge.” Ash kisses him again.
“Does this mean you’ll finally let me ride you round and round like a musical carousel?” Sparky laughs, grinding himself against Ash and holds his hand in the air like a bull rider.
“Go get a room guys.” Brax laughs and they walk inside Ash’s house.
“See you tomorrow, boss. I’ll be wearing a big smile too.” Serge winks.
The cops approach us. Brax already explained everything to them over the phone, so the talk is very brief. They place Aaron in cuffs and chunk him in the back of the car. He’s still stunned and falls over in the seat. Brax tells them about the gun and they retrieve it for evidence. The officer fills out his paperwork, hands us his card with the case number, and they pull away.
“Damn, what a night, huh?” I grab Brax and yank him in closer.
“One hell of a night and I’m glad it’s not over yet. We still have things to take care of and discuss.” He leans his head on my shoulder and we walk toward his truck.
“Your place or mine?”
“Let’s go to your house, Payce. You have all kinds of toys we can trick fuck on in that garage.”
“My place it is.”
Chapter Twenty Four
A twisted turn of events is the understatement of the night.
Stripping down, I’m out of my clothes and straight in the bed before I know it. I lay back on the pillow, both hands underneath my head, and kick one foot over the other. For the first time in years, I can actually relax, there’s no immediate situations I have to handle. Only Brax. My eyes close and memories of the night play across my eyelids. I couldn’t make this shit up on a bet, not one single bit of it.
The very first time that I bring Braxton to meet my friends, look what happens? Shit hits the flipping fan, like it always does when Aaron’s around. He usually has his hand somewhere smack dab in the middle of trouble or causing problems, just like before.
I sure am glad Sparky called me. That guy never ceases to pull off the unexpected, but for fuck’s sake, he scares me half to death. I worry about him. Even though I joke and play around with him, the guy grows on you after a while. I guess I should quit calling him Sparky or Sparks soon too…yeah right, it’s never going to happen. He earned that nickname all on his own.
Somewhere in the mix of different shit storms going on, I belt out my undying love for Braxton like I’m the lead singer of the church choir. He didn’t respond, but I didn’t give him a chance or expect him too. I think it sent him in shock and me too, but it’s something he needs to know.
“Are you alright, Payce?” I open my eyes and Brax is standing on the side of the bed, wearing nothing but a towel tied at the middle.
“I am now.” With one hand I pat the middle of the bed and tug him in with the other.
“You don’t have to keep things from me, what’s bothering you?” Brax climbs over me to reach the center and lies down beside me. He turns to face me, propping his head up with his fist against his cheek.
“I’m fine, Brax.” I roll to my side and we meet in the middle. “Does Sparky do this often, just wig out like he did tonight?” I grin, hoping to keep him off topic for a few more minutes.
“He’s Serge, and he’s been that way since I hired him. He never ceases to amaze me.” Brax laughs. “He’s one big walking surprise, isn’t he?”
“Without a doubt, he nailed it with that ninja move on Aaron.” I tug at my goatee.
Braxton’s grin fades from his lips, as his eyes flash with worry. He clutches my hand and raises it to his lips. He plants loving kisses on each knuckle before peppering my palm with tender pecks.
He’s very romantic and I like him this way.
“Payce?” His tone concerns me.
“Yes?” My pulse is thumping faster, I can hear it.
“What you said to me tonight, I promise I’ll understand if you need to retract it, things were fueled with adrenaline and emotions.” He cracks the knuckles on his hand, and his brows bunch together in the middle.
I curl his face into my hand and gently lift his head. I need to look into those beautiful eyes and know that he hears everything I say. He folds into my palm, and I can’t help but admire what a gorgeous man he’s become.
“I meant every word, Braxton. I do love you. That never changed, and honestly I don’t think it ever will, not for me.”
With a firm hold against his face, I slide my thumb across his pouty bottom lip. His eyes flutter closed and he leans into me. Combing my fingers through his hair, I edge down behind his ear, grasping his neck to hold him steady. His warm breath against my face is more than I can take at the moment, I need more of him. With a swift and tender lick, I gloss over his delicious lips then delve inside his juicy mouth. My fingertips trickle against his freshly shaven face.
“I want you more now, than I ever have, Brax.”
His breath staggers and his eyes open wide, the white flecks in them glitter against the blue background. His hand searches for mine, and he weaves his fingers between them. I tighten our grips together. Who knew that holding hands could be such a sensual thing?
We continue kissing. So soft. Tender. I unknot his towel and nudge him closer to me. Our naked bodies shiver against one another. He dips his tongue into my mouth, seductively sweeping around mine. His kisses steal my breath, it’s intimate and romantic.
The perfect kisser.
He slides his hand underneath my hair, his hold is firm, but gentle. It is several seconds longer when he pulls away.
Brax sucks his bottom lip inside that alluring mouth, biting into it. His lids are so heavy, it’s hot watching them droop over his glossy eyes, it’s one of the sexiest things he’s done yet.
“My God, you’re addictive, Brax.” I lean over, kissing each of his eyelids. “I can’t seem to get enough of you,” I moan as our mouths meet and we kiss.
“I hope you never do.” Both hands reach up to my face and his long fingers trace along both cheeks then to my chin. “I always knew where my heart belonged, Payce.”
“Did you?” A smile tries to peek at the corners of my mouth, but I hold it back. He hasn’t said how he feels about me.
“I did.” Brax is so intense right now, that worries me again.
“Can I ask you something? You don’t have to answer, just don’t laugh.”
“Payce, you can ask me anything and I’ll give you the truth.” He massages down my back.
“Does it scare you that I love you? Because I’m a nervous fucking wreck about it. I don’t know if it’s okay for me too. Wait! I mean, do you care if I love you? Goddammit…it’s all coming out wrong, Brax.”
“Take your time, Payce, we’ve got all night.” He grins at me, but I swear it looks like he’s going to laugh.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I need to just spit it out.
“Brax, if it’s not okay for me to feel this way, then I’m real sorry because I don’t know how to stop it. I never have and I can’t make it go away. I just love you and I can’t help that. There.”
I think I just collapsed a lung.
“I love the way you love me, Payce, especially right this very minute.”
“Oh thank God, because I’m not sure I could do that again.”
Braxton sits up in the bed, caressing my face with his knuckles. He’s being so damn sweet, and it’s all new for me.
“My heart always belonged with yours, Payce. I hope you keep loving me and never stop. I couldn’t ever quit you either. We messed up along the way, but here we are again. It’s time we close that chapter and open a new one for ourselves.”
I reach out for him and bring him back down to me, propping the pillows under his head. I lean over him and glance down, our eyes lock onto each other. I whisk his hair out of the way and lower to kiss him on the forehead. Brax glides his hand along my side and down my leg, catching me behind the knee, and hoists my leg across his own.
“Did you ever wonder what would happen if we got another shot, Payce?”
“Only every damn day, and it was a lot easier to figure out in my head, than it really is.” I laugh and he takes me in his mouth.
Our lips fuse as the kisses get deeper, hotter, and more passionate. The way Brax coils his tongue around mine sends a shiver shooting down my spine, chill bumps cover me all over. His hand moves from my thigh back behind my knee as his other arm crooks behind my neck. He holds me so tight against his warm skin, sucking my bottom lip into his mouth. Every touch sends an electrical jolt through me, sparking off millions of tiny nerves I didn’t know existed. It’s a glorious, God damned feeling.
Brax scrapes his teeth along my tongue and I give…the man can now do anything he so desires as long as he never stops touching or loving me. I close my eyes, enjoying this so much more than I ever thought possible. His strong hands tug me tight and he drags me up his naked body, making sure my leg is across his stomach.
“Mmmm…Brax. That was so damn sexy. Shit.”
I just became his new bitch or sex slave, or anything else the man wants, and am happy about it.
Brax yanks me to his mouth, forcing his tongue in mine long enough to swallow his growl that’s vibrating down my throat. “Payce, your mouth, so hot and soft, hungry. Good God. It’s perfect and...” He plunges back in, continuing his incredible mouth rape against me. It’s the most fuck-hot thing I’ve ever had between my lips, besides his cock. His moans give me such a hard on.
I’ve never been manhandled a day in my life, he’s the only one who’s ever tried it. I’m enjoying every bit of it. It’s hot as hell because he’s doing it, and I know exactly what Braxton wants now. He loves me, I feel it and I love him. There’s nothing I won’t do to make him happy. I’m finally willing to admit that, and please him the way he does with me. His hand slithers over my hip bone, around to my ass.
“I need you so fucking bad, Payce.” He clenches my ass. Tensing and releasing, clawing and grabbing at me. His moans ripple through my mouth. “I want you to let me show you how it can be, I need to be a part of you, inside you.”
“Anything for you. All this time...I’m sorry, Brax.” I slide my hand down to him, and wrap tight around his hard dick. He thrusts up into my hand, grinding his hips and I love being the reason why.
“Payce, baby. You’ve got no clue how good you feel. We have to slow down or I’m going to come all over you right now.” His eyes roll back in the sockets, then he pushes my hand off. “Holy fuckness.” He grins and gulps in a deep breath.
“Is there a problem with you getting off for me?” I arch my brow, daring him.
“Cocky bastard, no. Not at all, except I want you there too, with me.”
“Not having that problem. Touching you and watching you get so into it was taking everything I had not to come all over you.”
“Mmmm…you should have.”
I fall back on the pillow. “Come here, Brax. Tell me you love me.” I tuck my arms behind my head.
He slides over to me, climbing up on my chest and runs his fingertip against my goatee. “You were always the one, you know? The one I’m in love with right this minute and the one I have loved every single day for the last seven years, Payce.”
“So were you, Brax.”
Brax lowers to kiss me. “Good, don’t ever stop. Now that we’re done with the girly sap shit, get over here and fuck me blind, Payce.” He starts laughing and rolls off me.
