“FUCK YOU!” I said lunging at him driving the knife into his heart.
“How could you? She was your daughter! I am your son!”

“Money Dylan, there’s nothing more important,” he said
grabbing his chest and pulling out a gun from his jacket as he hit the floor. Two shots were fired, one hitting me in the stomach. I dropped on the floor, feeling the blood drain from my body. Thoughts of Brooke ran through my mind. If I was going to die, I wanted to do it remembering the woman I loved.

I woke in pain, my stomach bandaged and bleeding. I thought I’d died, but hadn’t. Tristan had come in just as the lights were about to go out. Brooke had been taken to safety and my father was dead. It was all so much to take in, that I’d almost wished I had died. How was I going to explain everything to my mother?

Tristan and Brooke walked in, bringing me flowers. Tristan explained that she had insisted on stopping and getting them as a get well gesture. She had chosen four, stargazer lilies in a crystal vase and set them gently on the counter by the sink.
She came over to the bed, grabbed my hand and placed a soft gentle kiss on my forehead. I raised her hand to my lips and gave it a soft kiss.

“Does this mean you remember?” I asked.

“Not yet cowboy, but I’m working on it,” she said flashing her beautiful smile.
