The look in Mason’s eyes was fierce, but everybody got straight to it, before I knew it, the police were looking for my father, and I had a whole press conference set up in my lounge.

‘Babe. You ready for this?’

‘Yes’ this was so different than other times I had been in front of a camera. We walked out into a sea of lights, and stood in front of what seemed like fifty people, Mase took the lead.

‘Thank you for coming at such short notice. I’ll get right to the point, we need your help. At approximately 5pm this afternoon, it was made clear that our son, Aiden had been kidnapped along with my parents, Henry and Gabrielle Stone. My parents had taken our son for the afternoon, when my wife returned home, we discovered that they were all missing and the police were called in. With the help of my security team, and the police we have discovered evidence which confirms that the same person responsible for my wife’s accident 4 months ago, has also taken our son. My hope is that sharing this information with you will endeavour to assist us find the people responsible for these crimes and return our family to us.‘ The reporters looked stunned by the information being given out, I guess it was unusual for such a high profile celebrity to be this frank.

‘We can confirm that the person behind these attacks is Mr Ben Clarke, the police are already looking for this man, but if anybody has information which may lead us to him, please contact the police ASAP.’ Mase was starting to falter so I jumped in, my shyness forgotten, as my fear took over.

‘The man who has our son and also tried to kill me is my….my father,‘ there were looks of shock and stunned silence ‘he is a cruel and heartless man who handed me off to an even more ruthless man when I was eighteen, to pay off his gambling debts. I know you’re all wondering why right now, but that’s another story for a different day, our only interest is to save our son, and my in laws, please.’ Reporters started to yell, to grab my attention.

‘Mrs Stone, Mrs Stone…. So many questions were being thrown our way but the only one I caught was ‘Do you have a message for Ben Clarke if he’s watching?’

The room went quiet waiting for my response.

‘Yes…. Hello daddy, you made a big mistake thinking you could come after my family, the whole country knows who you are now, and thanks to the internet you have nowhere to hide, give me back my son before its too late for you and everyone who helped you try to kill me and my baby.’

With those final words I walked out. My only hope now was that Mason was right and people would rally around us to bring our baby home.

Chapter 29

Mason

The moment Summer walked out of sight, the press started screaming questions at me, holy fuck, how do I follow that up.

‘Please….please I can’t answer all your questions right now, but I will once our son is back with his family. We have no idea whether he’s safe, or hurt, or ….worse. Any information, anything please contact us.’ I thanked them again and left, Summer was in the kitchen.

‘Babe, how are you?’ She was pacing a hole in the floor

‘Probably as good as you right now...I… I’m sorry that was harsh, I’m scared and I feel useless.’

‘I know love, I feel the same. I just hope the announcement works.’

‘It has to,’ at that point Lys ran into the kitchen.

‘Holy shit guys, the phone has been ringing off the hook, the police are calling more help in to sift through the information, it’s incredible.’

‘It is, but until we have the right information it’s useless.’

‘Summer, don’t be like that, the public are trying to help, all we need is one lead.’

‘I know, I’m sorry Lys.’

‘I know, don’t worry about it, I’m going to check on Lily and Mel.’ Summer was starting to freak out, I needed to find Aiden now.

‘Mr Stone.’

‘Clive, tell me you have something.’

‘The security team has located the Clarke family in a residence not far from here. We have eyes on them right now, including Ben Clarke. How do you want to proceed?’

‘Inform the police and make sure we don’t loose sight of him before the police intervene. Have they confirmed Aiden is with them?’

‘Not as yet Sir.’

‘Ok, make sure the police have your team’s full cooperation, but….if the police make any mistakes, you know what to do.’

‘Yes, we do.’ Clive walked away and I turned to my wife.

‘Babe, I need you to stay with Lys, Mel and Lily. I’m going to ask John to come with me, and we’re going to bring Aiden home, ok.’

‘But….but I want to be there,’

‘No, I need to know you’re all safe, the police are right here, and some of my team will be around. I know you’ll all be safe. This will be over soon, once it is we can move forward together, ok. I Love you.’

‘I love you too.’ The tears in her eyes were killing me, but I had to do this. One way or another I would get my family back. I walked away with John behind me.

‘Mase, what’s the plan?’

‘Right now, I’m hoping the police have that bastard and my son is safe, if not….well lets just say I’m not adverse to my team dealing any way they feel fit.’

‘Well, that baby is as close to my nephew as they come, so whatever you need, I’m in.’

‘Thank you John. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.’

With that we left to meet with Clive and his team. It didn’t take long to reach the address, and you couldn’t miss the police presence, the whole place was swarming. I got out and the press were everywhere, the police had five people handcuffed, 1 of which was being kept separate, I assumed this was Ben Clarke. I started walking in his direction and I was held back by the DCI.

‘Mr Stone, you need to stay back and let us handle things.’

‘Are you kidding me? You have them right, where the fuck is my family?’

‘My team are still sweeping the house, just try to be patient.’

‘I’m trying, believe me.’ I just wanted my baby back, where the hell were they. Suddenly there was a commotion and lots of noise, the police were dragging a woman out screaming.

‘Get the fuck off me, pigs, that’s my grandbaby, and he belongs with us. Who the hell are you to take him, get off.’ Holy shit that must have been Summers mother.

‘Hey, Where’s my son you fucking bitch, where is he? ’ She started cackling like a hyena.

‘Well you must be my little whore’s new sugar daddy.’

‘Where is my son, you evil fuck?’ Before she could answer the police came out of the house with my mom and dad, and right there in mom’s arms was Aiden. I thought I’d fall over from relief, but my legs carried me to my family.

‘Mom, dad. Oh thank God.’

‘Sweetheart, we’re ok, Aiden’s ok.’

‘Are you sure your alright? Did they hurt you?’

‘No, they just wanted to scare Summer, they knew taking Aiden was the best way. I’m sorry we didn’t have a choice.’

‘Mom, it’s not your fault. I need to deal with the police and the press, my car is waiting, Clive will take you home, my physician is waiting to check you over. I won’t be long.’

I watched my parents drive away with my son safely in their arms, and Clive at the wheel before walking back towards the DCI.

   ‘Mr Stone.’

‘Thank you for helping us find our son, but I want to talk to that scum bag.’

‘Sir he’s being taken to the station, we’ll book and process him, and everybody else that’s involved. I don’t think talking to him will be appropriate.’

‘That son of a bitch hurt my wife and took our son, I need to know why? Please.’

Before he could answer me, Ben Clarke started shouting for the press and yelling abuse about Summer, God only knows why, maybe to make himself look good, who the fuck knew but I wasn
’t about to sit back for this.

‘Well look at this everybody, the man himself. Tell me what do you get out of fucking my daughter, is she really that good or is it her little bitch of a kid?’

Jesus Christ, I just saw red but before I could brake him in two I was held back by the DCI and my security team, Ben stood there laughing, how could he, his own daughter.

‘What kind of a sick fuck are you? You gave her to that sadistic shit, he raped her repeatedly, only stopping when he got her pregnant, by mistake, how could you? What kind of a family does that to their only daughter, she was innocent, and you threw her away to that fuck, for what, to pay your gambling debts, you pathetic waste of space.’

The press was taking everything in, but I didn
’t give a shit right now, I wanted everyone to know what an evil prick this guy is and how his family really treats their own.

‘Summers the best thing that happened to me and our daughter may have been fathered by an even worse fucker than you, but she is the best thing that could have happened. I hope you rot in hell, along with the rest of your shit family. You ever come near my family again, I will hurt you, and you won’t even see it coming.’

With that I turned to an onslaught of cameras and reporters, while the police dragged Ben Clarke away kicking and screaming. I tried to gain some perspective so I could talk to the press but it was hard after my anger fuelled rant.

‘I’m sorry everyone, I know you need answers but I really need to get back to my family. What I will say is everything you just heard is true, Summer …. My wife is the strongest, most amazing person I know. She has dealt with abuse, in all aspects of her life and it hasn’t ruled her. She took control when the opportunity came and changed her fate, and I thank god everyday that she found me, or I should say, she saved me, in so many ways. I want to thank everybody for your help in bringing my family home safe, I have every intention of providing all the facts but right now, I have a reunion to get to.’

I left them at the scene and my security team drove me home, to my family, and the love of my life.

Chapter 30

Summer

Watching Mase walk away, was hard, knowing he was going to get Aiden was the only reason I could stand it. I found Lys and Mel with Lily who was asleep, they were watching her like she may disappear any moment. Mel turned to me and said

‘Oh Summer, how you holding up?’

‘I have no idea, I’m scared, but I know Mason will bring him back to us, safe and sound. I really hope your parents are safe. I’m so sorry Mel, how ….how my supposed family could do this, I have no words.’

‘Shhhh, this is not your fault. Summer from what Mase told me, and the stuff I’ve heard tonight, it’s a wonder you turned into the amazing person you are. I knew there was a reason my brother fell head over heels so fast. You’re the one.’ Tears brimmed my eyes, Mel’s words were so heart felt, I grabbed her into a hug and let my tears fall.

‘Thank you ….Mel.’ At that moment there was a knock on the door.

‘Mrs Stone?’

‘Detective, do you have anything yet?’

‘Well, you may want to come see this.’

We walked into the lounge where the police and security were watching live footage from the scene of what looked like a siege. My eyes bulged out of my head, I watched as the police dragged a woman screaming from the house, Oh My God, my mother, and then my father was right in front of the camera shouting shit about me, really what the hell. Then the camera panned in on Mason.

‘Holy shit, Mase, what’s he doing?’  And then I had my answer.

‘What kind of a sick fuck are you? You gave her to that sadistic shit, he raped her repeatedly, only stopping when he got her pregnant, by mistake, how could you? What kind of a family does that to their only daughter, she was innocent, and you threw her away to that fuck, for what, to pay your gambling debts, you pathetic waste of space. Summers the best thing that happened to me and our daughter may have been fathered by an even worse fucker than you, but she is the best thing that could have happened. I hope you rot in hell, along with the rest of your shit family. You ever come near my family again, I will hurt you, and you won’t even see it coming.’

‘Mr Stone, Mr Stone, what can you tell us about these people? Was that Ben Clarke? Are these the people who took your son? How is your son?  Mase faced the cameras.
