Allie joined him in his laughter. The food had given her
away. That was a good thing. Who knows what would have happened had Tony not
seen the untouched food.
“I’m so glad you know me so well,” she said, snuggling to
his chest again. She ran her finger along his shirt. “It’s what I love about you.”
Tony pulled out of their embrace.
“Did you just say you loved me?”
She batted her eyelashes at him and blushed. “Yes.”
“Really?”
Allie bit her lower lip. Had she made a mistake confessing
her feelings? He didn’t look as happy as she expected him to be. He looked
almost put off by her statement.
She could lie to him and tell him she hadn’t meant it, but
she wanted to be one hundred percent honest with him, because she did love him.
If he didn’t return the feelings, that was fine. She’d live with the fact that
he didn’t love her too, but she wasn’t going to deny how she felt for him.
“Yes, Tony. I’ve fallen madly in love with you.”
“Oh Allie.” His face turned from shock to admiration in a
few seconds. He touched her face with his hand. “I love you too, Allie.”
This time it was her turn to be unsure. “Really?”
“Absolutely. I knew the moment I laid eyes on you I was in
trouble. You had me that first day. I tried to deny the feelings creeping up
inside, but I couldn’t. I was drawn to you by a force much greater than me.”
She wanted to cry again at the sweet things he was saying.
“You’re pretty amazing yourself, Tony.”
“I hate to break up the party, but you have to a job to do,
Romeo.”
“Fuck,” Tony cursed under his breath.
“It’s okay. Go.”
“Dale, this is Allie. Allie, this is Dale my partner.”
Dale extended his hand and Allie accepted it.
“It’s nice to meet you, Dale. Thank you so much for saving
my life.”
“This guy here has great instincts. He knew you were in
danger.”
“Oh don’t go giving me all the credit. You’re the one who
spotted her tied up in the chair.”
The realization that they had spied on her and it saved her
life was overwhelming. If they hadn’t spied she could be dead.
“Thank you both.”
“Are you going to be okay in here or do you want to come
with us?” Tony asked.
“I’ll be fine. I’m just going to lay here for a bit. You’ll
be right outside, right?”
“I’m not going anywhere. If you need me holler. I’ll be in
here in a flash.”
“Okay.”
She watched Tony and Dale walk out the door to finish their
job. She rested her head against the pillows and closed her eyes. The horrible
ordeal was over and she was in love. The best part of it was Tony loved her
too.
About the Author
From a very young age, Amber Skyze began making up stories—the
only child syndrome. Had anyone asked her back then if she would write when she
grew up, she’d have laughed. It wasn’t until raising children and reading all those
romances that she decided, hey, I can write these. Then she discovered erotica
and found her calling.
This New York transplant now resides in Rhode Island with
her husband (the inspiration behind her stories), three children—who force her
to work a day job—and three dogs. She’s thrilled to join the authors of
Ellora’s Cave.
