“Actually
...we’re due around the same time.”

Jenna squealed. “
You’re going to tell Nicole and Kate, right?”

“I’ll tell them at your wedding.”

“We can have a baby shower together.” Jenna was too excited. Her smile was big and her eyes twinkled under the light of the lamp. “I never imagined that we would have a child at the same time and marry into the same family. What are the chances?”

“I know
, right?”

“Did you tell your parents?”

“They don’t know yet. We will be visiting my parents the day after your wedding. I’ll tell them then.”

“How about Matthew’s parents?”

“We’ll tell them after your wedding, but before we leave for San Francisco.”

“Okay
.” Jenna smiled. “Our lives have changed so much in such a short amount of time.”

“Yup,” I agreed.
“Did you start packing for San Diego?”

“You know me
so well. I did. I think I’m packing too much,” Jenna laughed. “Did you?”

I sure did. One can never pack enough.”

Chapter 2
5

Jenna

After I helped my parents settle into their hotel, my mom came with me to the
bridal shower dinner and my dad waited to be picked up by Max. Max and the men had dinner plans. Though Max and I had agreed that we would stay away from each other this week and finally be face to face on the wedding day, it was extremely difficult to do so. We even purposely avoided each other during work hours as well. I missed him so much, especially when he would send me texts.

I’m thinking of you.

I’m thinking of you, too.

I hope they are naugh
ty thoughts.

I laughed out loud.

“What’s so funny?” Becky nudged me during dinner.

Everyone was in their own conversation
when I took the moment to read Max’s text. “It’s Max. He’s making me laugh.”

“I think he a
lso made you blush.”

“Shhh
.” I laughed again. Although Ellen and my mom were having their own conversation and couldn’t hear us, there was that discomfort of knowing I was flirting with Max in front of his mom.

Nicole and Kate were in charge of the games. We played a game where
one person wrapped their teammate with toilet paper and created the most creative wedding dress. It was hilarious. The second game we played was unscrambling a list of words. That was difficult since most of us had no clue. Ellen won that game. For the last game, they had to hold a paper plate on top of their head and blindly draw me in a wedding dress. It had simple instructions, but was difficult to do. We all laughed like crazy. Unexpectedly, my mom won a prize for that game.

Due to Max and I having a small wedding, I had asked Becky not to invite
a bunch of our friends. I only wanted a few good friends to join me tonight. Now, it was cake and present time.

“I’ll write down who brought what,” Nicole said. “Kate will take the pictures and Becky will help you.”

“Thank you,” I said, since all of the attention was now on me. “First of all. I want to thank all of you for coming out tonight. A few of my cousins flew all the way from New York. A few of my college friends came from Texas. And I’m so happy my mom was able to join us for the bridal shower.” I turned to my mom with a smile. “And I would like to thank Ellen, my soon to be my mother-in-law, for all her help and for suggesting this wonderful restaurant.”

Becky stood up and handed me my first present. I unwrapped it and gave Becky the wrapper
, which she shoved it into the trash bag.

It was a crystal vase from Tiffany
’s. “Thank you, Tanya,” I said to my cousin. Kate took our picture and Becky gave me the next one.

“Thank you, Mom.” Mom brought me some kitchen utensil
s that Max and I had registered for with Bloomingdales. That wasn’t all. My eyes started tearing when I saw an engraved bracelet from Tiffany’s. It read:

Max and Jenna

Forever

“Oh, Mom,” I gushed and hugged her. “This is beautiful.”

“Now you have something new.” Mom started getting teary-eyed, too. “I can’t believe my little girl is all grown up and getting married.”

“I can’t believe it,
either,” I said softly.

Mom gave me big smile and
sat back down in her seat after Becky took our picture.

“This is from your mother-in-law,” Becky said
, handing me a huge box.

When I took it from her, it was so light I wondered what was inside it. After I unwrapped it, I opened the lid and pulled out an envelope.

“Max already knows about it,” Ellen started to say. “Robert and I are paying all expenses for your honeymoon. Inside is the information for the hotel that is paid for. That’s not all. Max doesn’t know this yet, but I’ve transferred money to your joint account to help pay for your future house. Max told me that you were both thinking of moving to a house close to us.”

“Yes
.” I nodded. I thought my bottom jaw dropped...I was in shock for sure. I knew Mr. and Mrs. Knight were generous people, but this was way too much. “I don’t know what to say, Ellen.”

I stood up when Ellen approached me. “No need to thank me, Jenna. Max is a luc
ky man.” She leaned into my ear with a hug. “I can’t wait for my grandchild to be born. There is something else inside the box.” Ellen sat back down next to my mom.

I reached in and took out another box like she said there would be
, and I blushed big time when I opened it.

My guests started to laugh
when I pulled it out. It was black, skimpy, lacy lingerie.

“I just wanted to make sure you had one. After all, I want you to seduce my son more often and make him a happy man. And also, I want more grandchildren.”

“Okay,” I laughed, feeling my cheeks burn. The idea of my mom knowing I was going to wear one made me die of embarrassment.

“Don’t be so embarrassed, Jenna. Embrace your youth an
d your sexy body,” Ellen continued. “I have the same one except mine is in red.”

Everybody laughed and whistled. I
probably looked like I was on fire after that comment, but that was nothing compared to what Becky, Kate, and Nicole had in store for me. Inside of their gift box was a vibrator, a rubber dick, a lubricant, a whip, handcuffs, and a sex game. I had never seen one before. I had to hold the items up one by one to show everyone. Oh my God! I wanted to hide...no, I wanted to faint.

I was suppose
d to take the day off and get pampered with Becky at the spa of my choice; it had been Max’s order. However, Matthew asked me to come in for a couple of hours, so the spa would have to wait until after lunch. Matthew texted me and informed me he was in the meeting room and asked me to go there.

“Surprise!” I hear
d when I opened the door.

It took me some time to process as I glanced around to see so many smiling faces, but my heart skipped a beat when I saw my fi
ancé leaning against the table with his hand behind him to support his weight. He looked so delicious and edible that my mind ran with naughty thoughts...even in a room crowded with my co-workers. His sexy grin was enough to melt me to the floor. When he winked at me, it took every once of my will power to keep from straddling him on that table and taking him, especially since we were trying to stay away from each other.

“Jenna, congrats.” Lisa
—from my old department—wrapped her arms around me, breaking me away from my thoughts.

“Thank you
!” I smiled. Countless “congrats” later, Max and I were asked to be at the center of the room. After a quick speech from Matthew, everyone grabbed a plate for the buffet that was set up at the back of the room. The room was decorated with silver and white balloons, paper decorations of wedding bells, and a banner that read “Congratulations to Jenna and Max”. I hadn’t noticed them until now. I was too busy being shocked.

“Good afternoon,
babe.” Max kissed my cheek. The feel of his soft lips made me want more. I inhaled a deep breath and tried to maintain my sex drive, but it wasn’t helping. Max’s hand was caressing my back. And when no one was watching us, he would slip it down to my ass.

“Max.” I jerked a little, leading his hand to the front.

Max nipped my ear, and then he huffed a low growl against my ear. “I can’t help it. I don’t like our agreement. I haven’t been able to touch you in five days. That’s a long time.”

“A deal is a deal. It’s killing me
, too.” I licked the side of his ear to tease him back.

After we ate, Max and I opened our gifts together. Many of the items were from our registry
, even though we didn’t register for much since I was moving into Max’s place.

“I have something to show you,” Max said after most of our co-workers
had left the party.

“What do you need to show me, Mr. Knight?”

“It requires you to go to my office.”

I narrowed my eyes at him. “Does it now? Are you sure it’s not a trick to get me to break our deal?”

“I wouldn’t dare, but I bet you would break it if you had the chance. Seriously, Jenna, I do need to show you something.” Max stood up and offered me his hand.

“Okay. I’ll walk
beside you. No touching.”

“Agree
d.”

Max opened his desk drawer and placed a picture in my hand. “What is this
a picture of? I don’t understand, Max. It’s nice, but the bedroom is empty.”

“It’s ours if you want it.” He beamed a smile. “I wanted it to be a surprise. I had a
realtor search for the perfect house for us. We can’t raise a family in a penthouse apartment. Our baby needs a big backyard. We can take a look today. It’s brand new and it’s close to my parents’ house. That way, we can have reliable babysitters nearby.”

I didn’t know what to say. “Max. Thank you. Your mom told me that she
deposited money for our wedding gift into our joint account. Is that why you searched for the house?”

“No,
babe. I started looking when I found out that you were pregnant. We also don’t need financial help from my parents, but I accepted it because it made them happy. We can always return the favor in different ways.”

I didn’t
say a word. I threw myself at Max for a tight squeeze. I loved this man with all of my heart and soul. I couldn’t wait to be his wife. “Thank you,” was all I could say as I continued to press my body to his. I wanted his touch, which I’d missed for the past five days. His touch was my source of life. It’s what gave me happiness. It’s what gave me strength.

Max’s
body on mine was intoxicating. It got worse when his lips turned toward my lips and he looked at me with dreamy eyes. Damn him. I needed him. I craved him. My will power was losing control when his hand caressed my hair, my cheeks, and ran seductively on my bottom lip.

“Jenna,” Max called in the most hypnotic voice. His hand
trailed the front of my blouse. I could feel all kinds of pleasurable tremors tingling my body, but I would not give in. My heart felt no mercy as it beat in fast tiny rhythms. Heat flushed through every inch of me. And my sex burned for him so much that I could already feel the twitch on my clit.

“I’m just going to have a little taste. I’m not asking for permission. I’m letting you know what I’m doing.”

Before I could register what he’d said, Max’s tongue and lips were devouring my neck, bathing me down to my breast. How in the world? When did he unbutton my blouse?

Max,” I whimpered. “I’m...I’m not...giving in. I’m not going to lose the—”

Too late. Max’s lips were already on mine.
His kisses were intense and hungry. It felt like the first time we’d ever kissed. All the effort of trying to stay away from each other only intensified the need and want. Pure lust and love was a deadly combination when they were released. Max pushed up my skirt and his hands were all over my ass. Pushing away my panties, his hand was rubbing my clit. Oh my God! That felt so good. I wanted more.

Max anchored my legs around his waist and started to walk to
who knew where. We were so much into sucking each other’s tongue and lips that Max banged against the wall cabinet. Then we banged against a few chairs, knocking them over when I tried to loosen his tie. We were on fire.
