He was seeing it!

She drew him further inside her, as deep as she could, and the circle of electric blue light grew bigger, cocooning them inside it. Sharp electric current struck them, and this made the sensations emanating from within her inner muscle magnify her massaging his cock by a thousand times. Marcus' groan was loud and long as he savored the feeling, and they had not even come yet! She started riding him like a horse, up and down, until he cried her name and pulled her in for his kiss.

His kiss!

Marcus's kiss!

Her Marcus!

She stopped to look at him. He was smiling his familiar, make-love-to-me smile.

"You remember?!"

"How can anyone forget this, my love?" he whispered.

Her tears fell again as she laughed, overwhelmed with happiness.

He moved and she was on her back again as he continued sliding in and out of her, ramming his cock deep inside her over and over, moving quicker and quicker...!

"Marcus!" she cried as she felt her climax approaching.

"Lola...!" he groaned aloud.

They came at the same time, riding up the crest of pleasure waves that vibrated over their bodies and souls and consumed everything in its path. Whatever was left of the destructive spell that was used on Marcus was obliterated. He collapsed on her breasts afterwards.

"What the hell?" Marcus said when he came up for air. "What did that bitch do to me?"

"Well, I'm thinking that she slipped something into your drink... and it was meant to take away your memory of me, which it did," she told him breathlessly.

A look of total remorse swept over his handsome face. His eyes turned red, bright with tears. "Oh, baby... I can't believe I've forgotten about you! Please forgive me!"

"There's nothing to forgive, sweetheart," she told him as her fingers stroke his sweat-wet hair. "You didn't know and I promise you, Adair is going to pay for this."

"Oh yes. She and whomever had put her up to this will pay," he said in anger.

For a while, they held each other on the bed. Even when she had forgiven him, she knew he still felt bad about what happened. But he was more focused on making up for the lost time when he could not remember her.

"I feel like we've returned to that moment when we remembered who we were the first time we made love on your birthday. That, and the last time we were together before this lifetime. And you were dying, and I know I was going to lose you and I might not see you for a long time... that feeling came back."

She kissed him, her eyes smarting. It was the same feeling she had felt when she could not wake him up. She, too, had experienced him dying on her many times. "We're back with each other now. You remember me," she reminded him again. "That's what's more important."

He sighed. "I suppose. I don't want to waste any more time thinking about that despicable woman. Obviously, she cannot be let back into The Council."

"I already informed the Council about this and I know she's being hunted down at the moment.

"We must find out what her objective was."

"Yes, darling, I know. And we will. But... we still have the whole night to get reacquainted, just in case you've forgotten anything else about us." Lola whispered seductively before leading his hand back to her breast.

He smiled. "I did say we shouldn't waste any more time, didn't I?" he said before kissing her lips.

She moaned her agreement between their lips.

The little bottle of liquid sat forgotten downstairs in the drawing room.

By morning, Lola and Marcus would have reached the decision that he did not need to take it after all and would flush it down the toilet.

NICHOLAS FELT his rage building as he stared into the crystal ball.

They had reconciled already. He could not believe it. He never thought they would be making love just a few hours after Marcus consumed his first dose.

Even the potion he had left Lola to ensure that Marcus's memory would not return had gone to waste.

He was, after all, the caring doctor attending to the King of the witches.

Now it was all falling apart.

Adair had let him down.

He gritted his teeth.

If the bitch hadn't felt tempted to touch the bastard's cock, thus triggering the Queen's protective spell on her husband's body, maybe his curse would not have been rendered weak.

That fucking bitch would pay for this.

But... well
, he thought as he calmed himself,
I’ll have to find another way.

No one as powerful as he was could be defeated.

Soon, he would have the gates of hell opened and this world would belong to him and his kind.

He only had to be patient.

He had already been waiting thousands of years...

The enemy's eyes were now solely focused on the Soul Mates. Since they had strengthened their defense, it wouldn't be long before the evil being would show itself.

But the evil being, Nickolas, also has his eyes on beautiful and powerful Lola. He wanted, more than anything, to take her as his own possession. She would be a perfect trophy queen when he replaced Marcus as King.

And there was nothing he would not do to be able to claim her. She was the key to his success—even if he has to slay the man who came from his very loins to get to her!

Chapter One

“HELLO. WHAT
can I get you today?”

Iliana's heart was pounding as she walked towards the man in one of her tables. He should have become familiar by now, but he still confused her like no one she knew.

As if she knew anyone even remotely like him.

His almond-shaped, green, piercing eyes were on her face. He was dressed in black. With his dark hair a little longer than usual, his dark complexion and sensual full lips, he looked like a pirate.

A pirate dressed as an aristocrat.

His name was Nickolas Benson. Or that’s what her co-worker Anthony told her after he researched about him. And he was supposed to be sinfully wealthy.

But that was beside the point. Whenever he’s here in the coffee shop, his sheer presence overwhelmed the place.

While he was here, he was only this powerful-looking, handsome man who confused her with his focused attention.

As she approached him, his posture changed. He pulled his long legs in and sat straight on his chair.

Not a pirate,
she corrected herself.
A panther, ready to attack his prey.

She almost shivered at the reminder of the most exotic, dangerous cat that ever passed through her life. How could she have likened him to a panther, of all animals?

“Coffee. Black," he answered in a deep, husky baritone.

“Thank you very much,” she replied, smiling automatically.

His stare burned into her back as she walked back to the bar to get the order ready. She wanted to run but the manager's eyes were surveying the room at the moment.

Anthony was smiling. “Let me guess. Coffee. Black. Right? Did we at least get a hello or something more today? Or just the usual silence?”

She didn’t answer. She couldn't.

She could still feel the stranger’s eyes on her and she felt as if she were on fire.

Delicious fire

If only he wasn’t so handsome.
