Chapter Seven

Deeper

I woke up in a sweat at my desk, I sat straight up and touched my chest, my fingers moist from the perspiration coming through my tank top. I wiped my forehead and stood up, careful to not wake Gemma, who was snoring, as she always does. She may appear to be a deep sleeper, but she actually wakes very easily. I did not want that, I was drenched and looking as if I had been having sex for hours…or I at least felt that way. I opened the bathroom door and stepped in, careful to close it without making any noise at all behind me.

I looked into the mirror and my skin was pale. My eyes glossy and my body was glistening with sweat, even my hair was wet. I turned on the water in the sink and ran it as cold as I could. I leaned down and scooped the water up into my hands and splashed it all over my face. The sudden jolt and difference in the temperature shocked my senses. I sucked in my breath as I hunched there, holding onto the edges of the sink and let the water run down my chin, neck and onto my shirt. It felt so good I was half tempted to get in the shower and just run it cold, but I knew it would definitely wake Gemma. Honestly, I don’t hate her, I am just not in the mood to tell her about what had happened in my dream. She was already acting so strange about the premise of the entire thing, if I told her about the group sex she would flip. Especially two men, which was something I would not normally even think about. I mean, do not get me wrong, I don’t have a single problem with it at all, I just never thought that I would get, you know, turned on from the sight of it. I had though, and as I stood there and touched my chest, I found my fingers start to move downward as the flashes of my dream consumed my mind. The bar, the detective, the man from the train car…then the bathroom scene of lust as they all three became one in a fit of ecstasy. I lifted a hand to my mouth and touched my bottom lip, closing my eyes and seeing him, he was Keegan now, the man who had sex with my heroine in the book who had suddenly started to look like me. I opened my eyes and looked into the mirror as I screamed. I saw Keegan behind me. I turned, but he was gone just as quickly as I had seen him. I smiled and shook head, turning back to the sink and leaning down to get some more water on my face. Then, as I stood up, he was there again. He lunged at me and bit into my neck, his vampire fangs long and sharp and causing me to almost immediately come.

My head fell back and his hand rose and cupped my chin. I closed my eyes as his fangs penetrated me deeper and deeper. His growl only matching that of my own moaning. The pain was so completely immersed in pleasure that my mind was consumed with thoughts of him and just wanting more. Then he raised his head, his lips covered in my blood and I could not stop the orgasm, wave after wave of it took me.

“Please fuck me...please,” I said as I fought for my breath. He grinned and sank his fangs deeper into my shoulder. His hand lowered down the front of me and I placed my trembling hand on top of his and slid it inside of my shorts. His body hardened behind me as he slid two fingers up inside of me. I gasped as I stared upwards, reaching back and grabbing his hair. I pulled on it as he thrust upward with his hand. Each thrust causing me to cry out as he drove his sharp fangs deeper and deeper into me. I could feel his cock hardening behind me. He pulled his hand out and raised it, slipping his two fingers into my mouth and I gladly sucked on them, tasting my pussy and heightening my need for him. He took his free hand and jerked my shorts down, along with my panties and then pushed me against the sink. He pushed me forward and pulled his erect cock out and shoved it inside of me as I screamed. He thrust against me over and over as I closed my eyes and could only scream his name.

“KEEGAN!” I sat up in my bed and the scream came before I could even control it. I looked around the room and Gemma sat up quickly and flipped on her light. She rubbed her eyes and stared me down.

“Fay?” she called out to me and I tried to catch my breath. I blinked a few times and then pinched my arm, hissing in the process. I had to make sure that I was really awake this time and not still dreaming.

“Oh shit,” I whispered as I shook my head and pushed my hair out of my face. I looked over and saw my laptop on and the bar flashing on it. It was right where I had left off, when Lia passed out in the detective’s arms. I slid my feet from the bed and looked at Gemma.

“I am so sorry,” I said to her and she dropped her head on the pillow and pulled her leopard print mask down.

“Damn Fay, you sounded like someone was eating you.”

I reached up and fingered at my neck, almost expecting to feel two puncture wounds left behind by Keegan, but there was nothing. It was really all just a dream. I mean, Keegan was real - my Keegan, I mean vampire Keegan in my book
was not
. I needed to keep this in perspective or fucking quit writing this book immediately.

I walked to my laptop and grinned at it, shaking my head and closing it as I stared at the words. I have to stop living in this book, or it needs to stop trying to live in me. I walked to the bathroom and flipped the light on only to see myself all sweaty, as I had been in my dream. I turned the water on and splashed it over my face a few times and then grabbed the towel, wiped my face off and peeked in the mirror. I laughed under my breath as I saw nothing, I don’t know why I even thought that I would. Keegan was not a vampire, he was not the mysterious man in my book, I was not in my book…I was right here and right now. Real and in the flesh.

I turned to place the towel on the bar and there was a bite mark on the back of my shoulder that I did not see; the quick glimpse of it only seen by the mirror.

I walked to the café with the sun still barely streaking the sky. I had my arms tucked into my jacket and the chill just would not leave me. The dream had woken me up at 4:30 AM and the sun would arrive at 6:00 AM on the dot, as usual. I stepped up to the door and reached for it, but a hand beat me to it. I looked up and saw Keegan as he opened it up and I grinned at him. He looked awake, probably much more so than I did. I had taken a shower and everything, but I was still tired. I would have to assume that it was the dreaming. It has to stop; I have so much to focus on this year that this whole thing with the book was starting to weigh on my mind.

I stepped up to the counter and ordered my usual. Keegan ordered a water and I smiled. There was no reason for him to be here, none at all, except maybe me. I was not sure, but the timing was odd. I walked to the booth and slid in, I laid my head down on the black table top and stared at my feet. I had placed my tennis shoes on and not even bothered to lace them up, but none of it mattered. I needed to drink my pick-me-up and just as I said it, the drink arrived, as well as Keegan who stood behind the girl. She set my drink down and winked at me as Keegan stared at the empty seat across from me. I leaned back and took a drink, waving my hand at it and he sat down as the girl walked away and glanced back at his butt. It was perfect, as was the rest of him.

He removed his black jacket and laid it on the seat next to him and he had on a black t-shirt. I stared at his arms, they looked as if he worked out and honestly I had not noticed before. I could also see a tattoo peeking out of the bottom of the sleeve on his right upper arm. It looked like hands and I got caught staring a little too long at it. He grinned and pushed it up and I could see the entire thing, which was not small at all. It was a winged girl with her head hanging low. She sat on her knees with her hands before her. The work was impeccable and the drawing itself seemed to pop off of his skin, as if she was real.

“That is amazing.” I said as I leaned up and he turned a tiny bit in the booth so I could see it better. I narrowed my eyes and studied the detail on the large wings looming above her.

“It is my fallen angel,” he said to me as my eyes lifted from the tattoo and up into his blue eyes.

“She is beautiful, where did you get it?” I asked him as I leaned back and he lowered his sleeve and adjusted in the booth.

“A friend.”

“Some friend, whoever it was has a lot of talent.”

“She does,” he added as he took a sip of his water.

“Oh,” I said as I took a drink of my caramel frap.

“Another girlfriend?” I asked and he laughed. He tapped his fingers on the table in between us as he slid his arm up on the booth behind him.

“Same girl.”

“Well, photographer, beautiful and a tattoo artist. I am really starting to wonder why you two broke up.”

“I told you why,” Keegan said as he lowered his arm and leaned forward, resting his arms on the table. My eyes could not help but look at the bottom of the tattoo again which was barely peeking out from the bottom if his t-shirt sleeve. He touched it and pulled his shirt down further.

“Why an angel?” I asked as he looked up at me with a small bit of his hair falling over his left eye. He was too attractive and I was too weak to appear disinterested.

“Well, I found her intriguing.”

“I would think so, I mean, you dated her.”

“No not Calista, the angel.”

I grinned. “Calista, huh?”

“Yes, she was, I mean… is Greek. Very Greek.”

I laughed and took another drink of my coffee. “I think Greek is just Greek, there are not levels.”

“Oh, there are. I mean, you have American Greek and then you have 'I don’t have my visa yet' Greek.”

“Oh,” I said as I raised an eyebrow. “So did she get deported?”

“You could say that and my ignoring the thought of marriage did not help things at all.”

I pushed my hair behind my ear. “Well that sounds messy.”

He grinned and leaned back in the booth.

“Listen, Fay, I like you. I probably like you more than I fucking should and no, I am not your regular professor. In fact, I don’t even know if it is really what I want to do. It’s more what my parents want me to do than anything. So, here we are and I guess I just wanted to ask if you would entertain the thought of a date. Like a real one.”

I leaned up and looked around the café.

“Are you insane?” I whispered.

He leaned forward and I could smell him. He smelled like sandalwood and vanilla, which immediately set my senses on fire. I looked down as he spoke to me.

“Yes,” he whispered back to me.

I looked at him. His face so close to mine, his expression soft and inviting. His inability to even care about the fact that he just started teaching here was somewhat a turn on to me. Not to mention that I now had visions of him from sexual escapades we had not even had. This was so ridiculous, and yet I opened my mouth and the words just happened.

“This is so fucked,” I said and he nodded to me. “I mean, you could be fired, I could be kicked out.” He nodded again. I took a breath and tried to get back to reality.

“No,” I said to him as it pained me to do it.

He sighed and started to stand up. He stopped and tapped the top of the table.

“It wasn’t about the book,” he said to me and I stared at him. I appreciated the fact that he was not wanting to attack me after I had let him read the beginning sex scene. I know it was my fault that we were even in this awkward situation.

“I just…I can’t,” I said and he nodded to me and walked out. I fought the urge to call out to him and then caught the girl behind the counter staring at me.

“You should just go for that.”

I sighed and leaned back, I just couldn’t. I had enough to contend with between the book and trying my best to graduate.

***

I spent weeks ignoring my laptop. I mean, ignoring the book. I tried to act normal every day. The hardest days being Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Those were the days I had psychology classes, all of which Keegan was teaching. I would sit in class each day and type away, listening to him and trying my best to not look at him. I did not want to see his face, his lips…his hair. All of it was too much for me. He was my ideal man. I dreamed about him at night and the more I dreamed the more I wanted him in all ways. I also became extremely fatigued. Tired beyond anything I had ever experienced before, and even though some whacked-out flu was going through campus, I seemed to just be tired. Then one day I woke up after my one-hundredth dream of him bending me over and shoving his large cock into me and I snapped. Not snapped, as in crazy off my rocker shit, but snapped as in I could not deny him any longer. I also knew that I wanted to write more, I missed Lia and her search for sexual freedom. I missed the vampires and the mystery. I wanted to know, just like any reader would what the hell was going to happen so I got up, got dressed…went to my class on a rainy Friday and lingered after Keegan finished his class. Then I stood up, walked right up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned and looked at me, his expression not one of irritation, but more one of relief that I finally chose to speak to him again.

“Dinner,” I said and he smiled. A smile that told me I was totally fucked and did I care? I wasn’t even sure that I did any more. All I did know is he made me feel something I had never felt before and although it may sound crazy, it was the truth.

He leaned towards me. “Not very convincing.”

I took a breath and then spoke.  “I would love to go out to dinner with you.”

“I am a teacher,” he whispered.

I smiled and leaned into his ear, “I just don’t care.”

I leaned back and started to walk. He grinned as he watched me walk away.
