The following songs don’t appear in the playlist as they are songs I either listened to while writing specific scenes, play an overall part in
Take it All
, or belong to a character.

Take it All– Adele–
I had everything I needed for this story except a title. I went crazy trying to find the perfect one that would sum up everything Caleb and Lennox would go through and as I sat at my kitchen table one day, this song happened to come on my iPod. After hearing Adele sing the opening lines, Caleb and Lennox came to life even more than they were. Their story played through my head to the entire song, sending chills over my body and tears through my eyes; I knew this was the one.

Demons– Imagine Dragons–
Caleb and Lennox’s song. There’s a part of the song, as referenced in the beginning, that when I hear it I automatically think of Caleb and Lennox and think it fits them perfectly.

Better Than Me– Hinder–
Caleb’s song.

Fix You– Cold Play–
Lennox’s song.

Glycerine (acoustic)– Bush–
This was the song playing when Caleb and Lennox made love for the first time.

I’ll Follow You– Shinedown–
This song played when Lennox told Caleb no matter how far he falls, she’s right there next to him.

Drugs Or Me– Jimmy Eat World–
This song played when Lennox gave Caleb her ultimatum.

4am– Our Lady Peace–
This was the band and the song that was playing during the concert when Lennox was overcome with emotion in never seeing Caleb again.

The One That Got Away– The Civil Wars–
This played when Lennox finally blew up and told Caleb her feelings after the concert.

What’s Left Of Me– Nick Lachey–
Lennox and Caleb’s last night together after the concert.

We’ve Got Tonight– Phillip Phillips–
Lennox and Caleb’s last night together after the concert.

Not Enough– Our Lady Peace–
This song played during the final moments of the last chapter of the book.

Anyone close to me knows how difficult writing this book was. From the countless times I said, “I can’t do it, I can’t write this,” and wanting to just push it aside and move on to my next book, to all the tears I shed as I sat at my computer, watching the cursor blink in its place as I try and find the right words to execute this story. There were days when I closed my computer, completely ragged, and thinking I was not going to finish this book; clearly I was wrong.

After 49 days, 449 hours, 134,000 words, 200 plus cups of coffee, all the times I wanted to give up, all the tears shed, going to bed at 5–6 in the morning every single day– I finished; with a huge sigh of relief then a good cry. But, none of the listed above would have been possible without the people in my life being there for me, cheering me on, and being the biggest support system I could ever imagine.

For my mom and dad ~ there are no words to express how much I love you both. Not a day goes by that I don’t thank God I was blessed with you guys as my parents. You told me, “Just write, don’t worry about anything else and just write.” Thank you for letting me do what I love and letting me sleep after pulling all-nighters; thank you for being the rocks I needed to get through this story, and most of all... thank you for raising me to be who I am today, because without that who knows if this story would have existed.

For Aaron ~ it’s you and me against the world little man. Everything I do is for you and I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing son than you.

For my brother Jordan and Shayla ~ you guys have always been in my corner cheering me on before anyone, always checking on me to make sure my writing is coming along, you guys are the best.

For Brandon ~ you are one of my best friends and the sole inspiration behind Raine. There’s no him without you and I couldn’t be more proud to showcase what a great guy you are by bringing who you are as a person to life in a book that is extremely close to my heart. From the day we met, you’ve always been there for me, giving me advice or just making me laugh–which always seems to help. Thank you for being my friend, but most importantly thank you for being you. Never change.

For Brandi Money ~ I’m so lucky to have met you and formed a close friendship. Thank you for supporting me and pushing me on. Thank you for having nothing but the utmost faith in Take it All and doing whatever you could to help promote it. And thank you for making my teasers each week, you saved my life doing them and they all, every single one, came out beautiful and perfect. You out did yourself with everything, thank you for believing in Take it All but mostly, thank you for having faith in me. You really are a rockstar!

For Kathryn, Donna, Corinne, Trisha, and Teri ~ you all know who you are and you all pushed me in your own ways, believing in me and my writing, knowing what I was capable of even when I didn’t. You all inspired me in different ways and with that I thank you.

For my girls Brandi and Deanna ~ I can’t thank you enough for taking the time out of your busy lives to be the first to read Take it All and for everything you gave me in return, you went out of your way to make this the best I have done, and I can’t thank you enough. I love you both.

For all the bloggers who have supported me along the way, especially Book Geeks Unite ~ you ladies are amazing and I can’t thank you enough for all the support you have shown me, not just with my first novel but specifically this one. Anything I needed spread out into the social media world, you were there in a heartbeat and I couldn’t have done it alone, and for hosting my blog tour– your first one ever! I feel so lucky to have met some amazing ladies.

For my editor Shelley ~ I don’t know where to start but all I can come up with is a big fricken thank you and I love you like, I love you as if you were my mom or something.

For Jolinda ~ I’m so happy I was sent in your direction for swag. You do amazing work and I couldn’t be happier with everything you have done for me. You honestly rock!

For Meredith from Authors Angels ~ I love this cover and I love your work. I can’t imagine working with anyone else but you and as you know, I can’t wait to work on our next cover and all the ones to follow.

For Angela from Fictional Formats ~ I love you. How I got so lucky to find someone who formats so beautifully is beyond me but I have no intentions of going elsewhere. Thank you for scheduling me in for future books and thank you for doing a beautiful job with this book, you truly do amazing work.

For the authors who inspire me on a daily basis ~ you inspire me to be better, to work harder, to write better, and to believe in myself. Your books leave me changed at the end, always feeling breathless and completely in awe of your work. I can only wish that my writing has that effect on someone, even if it’s only one person.

I always feel as if I missed someone, so if I have, I am so sorry and please know it wasn’t intentional and a big thank you goes out to anyone I missed and to everyone who’s supported me from the beginning; this wouldn’t be possible without all of you. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you!

xo,

Emma
