“Were you trapped here? Did something happen that we should know of?” Joshua asked intently. His energy was vibrant. He seemed to be in his strength.

Lillian looked at him intensely, knowing what he thought. “Your dreams, Joshua, were my way of speaking to you, yet I cannot tell you all that occurred during that time. It—it is not wise, as it may be disruptive to your civilization. These are things that you may find out in your search for replacing the energy field. I ask that you keep an open heart when you seek the truth, for remember: there is both shadow and light in all that we do.”

Talis looked at Joshua. They knew this was part of the story. That there was more that needed to be revealed.

“Is this what my grandfather cautioned me about before he passed on?” Talis asked her directly.

Lillian’s energy was wavering again. She was quiet, but her eyes said yes. Somehow both Talis and Joshua sensed she could not reveal this truth. They both chose to stay quiet and not press the sensitive matter.

After a quiet moment, Lillian’s energy softened. “We have little time as my energy is already weakening and I must keep the collective field strong. Our energy and spirits need to ascend to a higher state. It is soon our time. We cannot stay in this realm. The universe does not allow it to keep the balance of all that is. Our souls are soon to be called home. The earth itself needs to support this energy and it can be done. Our field is slowly weakening as we are in between dimensions. We do not want to jeopardize what we all worked so hard to build.”

Talis, Joshua and Layia were silent as they contemplated this dilemma. Layia kept her chakra energies balanced and focused on helping the others maintain theirs.

Forena interjected to remind all that time was limited. “My friends, we will not be able to keep you here for much more time. This is a field that is somewhat unstable for those of the earth and for the collective energy.”

Lillian spoke as she looked at the larger energy force behind her. “As you see, there are many of us in this state. We are not concerned for ourselves, but for you and those on Earth. What we need of you is to find a way to stabilize the energy field. We need you to find a solution and to speak the truth.”

Talis pondered this. “What is it that you suggest we do to help this decreasing energy field?”

Lillian’s energy was weakening, her bright form fading. The other entity that had been silent but close by quickly merged with her as if to help her keep her energy stable. The two energies pulsated with vibrant colors. Everyone watched in awe as the forms seemed to connect in a beautiful way, hard to describe for anyone present. Lillian’s form seemed to have a glowing brightness to it near her navel. The energy brightened suddenly, almost seemingly earthly and separate. The three young people stared at this magnificent energy emanating from her, not knowing what exactly they were witnessing.

The two forms stabilized and now seemed to speak as one. “You will need to find a different energy source to replace our magnifying energy. This will need to come from the earth and from all of you. A higher vibration is needed to replace our energies. Energy healing on a larger level may also need to take place as you seek the truth. We can hold this state for a time, but it is impossible to stay; we will need to ascend. It is up to you to find the solution.”

The distinct energy forms began to slowly disappear as they drifted back to the larger form. “We will meet again. Speak to me in your dreams; find me again in your meditations. We will await your plan. It is important to find an answer. Blessings to you, my friends of Earth.”

And with that their energy disappeared and the lights of the other entities receded. The three Earth travelers were deep in their thoughts as the guides helped them prepare for the return to the other dimension.

Chapter 21

The Return

Tara finally picked up a signal from the travelers. “I’ve got something. It seems to be indicating that they are ready to return home.” Tara made some adjustments on her holographic panels, moving them with precision. As a young person, she was wise beyond her years. “I think we should prepare the chamber.”

Marti and the others scrambled to prepare the portal for the energy shift. The others were alerted and the University and staff focused on their safe return.

The energy burst commenced and the bright light of the inner chamber radiated outward to everyone in the room. There was no change. They commenced the energy burst again. No change and still no travelers.

“Check the controls. They should be here by now!” Marti yelled as he checked his control panel in an aggravated manner. “Where are they, dammit?” He cursed at no one in particular.

“Energy stabilizer is stuck!” Tara said, running to take over the outer panel. She tried to free it.

“Manual control on. Push it hard!” Marti commanded. “Do it now or we’ll lose them!”

She summoned all her might. Leaned her legs against the table and pushed. It loosened!

“Fire the energy burst now!” she yelled to Marti. He adjusted the panel and commenced the burst. The bright light filled the inner chamber. Tara, Marti and the others were ecstatic. The three travelers were there. Their forms materialized as they converted the high frequency energy to the earth plane. They were home.

Talis, Joshua and Layia took a moment in the inner chamber to gather their thoughts and get grounded. They did not know what had just happened. They all joined hands and briefly meditated. Layia helped the others with her continually grounded energy. They slowly returned to their earth energies.

Joshua spoke with words slowly forming in his mouth. “Thank you, Layia, for keeping me grounded. At times I felt like I would disappear into the higher dimension.”

She nodded her head and looked at him in deep friendship. “It was my honor to help and travel with both of you. What now do we do now with our knowledge?”

Talis pondered her question and spoke discreetly. “We will need to alert the Council to our findings. It seems that we have work to do to help keep our society in balance.”

They all responded in agreement.

“And what about the mystery surrounding their disappearance? Should we be cautious?’ Joshua asked directly. Talis was unsure about what to do.

“I don’t honestly know,” Talis said softly. “Let’s keep our intuitive senses wide open. There is indeed a piece of the puzzle that’s missing. Something is hidden and perhaps someone doesn’t want us to find out.”

As they opened the chamber door, the three travelers slowly walked out into the room. Several others were standing to greet them.

Marti welcomed them warmly with a giant hug. “Blessings to you, our travelers. We are glad that you are back safe.” He was happy to see them alive. He had almost lost them.

Tara was near tears as she embraced each one of them also. “I am happy to see you, my friends.”

The three travelers sensed their expressive outward emotions, but because they were readjusting to human form thought nothing of it. Nothing was said by the science team. They would discuss it later. They were just happy to have them back.

Several of the scientists, technicians and a handful of seers were also there to greet them. They gave the travelers ample space in honor of what they had been through. Helena, Jasmine and the other members of the two councils were not present. They had not had time to get there and also knew that the young travelers would need time to adjust.

Talis spoke first. He hesitated, having slight difficulty putting his thoughts into words. He also was protective of his energy and that of Joshua and Layia. He was direct and brief. “We are blessed to be back on Earth. We are disoriented and need to adjust ourselves before we explain our travels. We have much to discuss. Can we rest and have quiet for a time?”

Marti smiled. “Of course. We will take you to your quarters on the University grounds. Take your time, and when you are rested we will discuss your travels.”

The three were escorted out of the chamber and taken to their guest cottages to rest. Tara, Marti and the other technicians who had just experienced a near fatal accident kept silent. They knew something had happened that shouldn’t have.

“What just happened?” Marti asked of the serious mishap after the travelers had left. Normally steadfast, he was shaken by the incident.

“The control panel was double-checked before the energy burst. All controls were functioning,” a control technician said to the group remaining at the portal.

“Did someone perhaps attempt to alter it?” Tara brought up the inevitable question that they all wondered.

“I’m honestly not sure,” Marti mumbled in a melancholy voice. “Do you think it has something to do with what you were saying earlier, Tara?”

She looked at him seriously. “It is possible. Shocking, but indeed possible. There have been a lot of intense feelings about the portal, but I certainly did not think someone would try to harm others because of it.”

“We will have to stay alert to the possibility then,” Marti said. They would have to investigate further before they could report what actually went wrong.

When word spread that the travelers had arrived back on Earth safely there was a collective sigh. People were overjoyed that they had returned. Most were very curious as to what had happened. They waited anxiously for information, but also knew that the three needed to rest before they could speak to others. They had been on an intense journey and no one quite knew how it altered them.

On Earth, the weakening energy field had started to affect several areas. For the most part, even though people were tense, the Cascadia Bioregion and most regions were fairly stable, but there were reported disturbances from a few regions of the United Continents. The world had come very far in the 60 years since the end of the revolution, and all had been at peace for decades. The last three generations had indeed helped shape a better world by both people’s beliefs and actions. Conflict and violence had stayed naturally quite low for decades.

Regardless, because of the fear of losing all that they had gained, tension emerged again in certain parts of the world. There had been a few minor skirmishes reported, nearly unheard of for over two generations. Anger and the lower negative emotions were beginning to play their part in how people acted. The councils and mystics in these areas asked for assistance. They did not want this to get out of hand. Fear and apprehension gripped many about the decreasing energy field. A solution was needed soon.

Upon hearing about the growing instability, Talis and the others realized the urgency and were finally grounded enough to meet with members of the Joint Council. They had heard of the conflict and tension and knew they had to discuss their journey and come up with possible solutions.

Talis called for a meeting in the Council chambers at the University. He requested a small audience so they could discuss the issues effectively. Much like his grandfather he had the natural leadership abilities to help the situation.

Helena and Jasmine were present, as well as Breana and another Council member, Jerias. The Elder Council representatives were Michael, Tythia and Marias. Tara, Marti and Bryan were also present.

Helena began with a respectful greeting. “We are blessed to see you again, my three travelers. We hope you have been able to ground again on Earth?”

The three bowed in deep respect with Talis addressing the group. “Greetings to you, Helena, and to all of you in this room. We are here at your service and are ready to discuss our travels. Have you all had a chance to read our virtual reports?”

Everyone nodded and Helena continued. “We found them extremely interesting. I was thrilled that you were able to travel and meet the various spirit entities.”

“It was a very different experience,” Talis explained in an animated fashion. “We were treated very well and felt at peace during most of our travels. Being in the higher realms was both amazing and somewhat disorienting.” He paused, looking around at all those present. “Now I believe we have serious matters that need to be discussed concerning the energy field.”

“Did Lillian share with you any solutions on how to replace the decreasing energy field?” Michael asked in a serious tone.

“No, she explained the issue fairly well, but gave us no solutions. She did say we had little time to find the answers and the truth.” Talis looked at Michael again with caution, not knowing whether to trust him fully. “My understanding is they will hold it stable as long as possible, but they did seem to be weakening.”

“Their weakening?” he asked rather impatiently.

Talis took a few deep breaths, trying to keep centered. “Lillian and the other energies that we observed could not stay in the visible state for very long. Lillian herself seemed to lose energy as she communicated with us. Their energy forms eventually disappeared. Our spirit guides also advised us to leave that realm and return to the more stable dimension from which we first entered.”

Jasmine looked at Talis after his interaction with Michael. She knew what he felt. There was an energy that she could sense. Nevertheless, she had a question of her own. “Did the spirit guides offer you any solutions before you returned here?”

Layia took the question and responded quickly, wanting to hold her own power in this group. “They were very helpful in our journey and said they would be of service as they could if we called on them. However, they reminded us that they are not able to intervene on the physical level. They can assist us, but we have to be the ones to find the solutions.”

Helena affirmed Layia’s remarks, adding, “Yes, that is the way of the spirit guides. Our time on Earth is one of learning and growing. It seems that is what we are called to do with this challenge as well.”

Everyone in the room was quiet for awhile, thinking on the possibilities. It was after some time that Joshua spoke up. “I had a difficult time staying stable as a partially physical and separate being. Many times I felt like joining the energy of those dimensions. Thankfully, Layia was able to keep me grounded by her strong energy centers. Her chakras kept the balance between the physical and spiritual. It may not relate to what we are discussing, but my intuition feels this strength might be part of the solution.”

“How do you think it will help?” asked Marias. “I agree with the idea of balance, but if we are lacking in the higher energies and need to replace them how will being grounded help the situation?”

The room was silent again for some time. It was their custom to have periods of silence in between talking. They had integrated this idea into their society for many decades now. The silence allowed room for intuitive thought and to quiet the mind. People had become comfortable with these long moments of introspection.

After their long pause, Talis began to speak. “Joshua may have something that we can build from. The mystic Lillian did notice that Layia was grounded, that her energy was balanced. She said that would have helped all of them during the uprising. This may be the key that we are looking for.”

“I think you may be right,” Jasmine added, looking at Talis tenderly. “I have a strong feeling that the balanced energy has something to do with finding a solution. Perhaps the physical part of our existence is a key component in raising the energy and keeping it stable?”

Tythia added to this idea. “Mother Earth and her energies have always been a strong part of our culture. We have learned to live lightly on the earth and honor her. Yet to a certain extent we have focused on the mystical and spiritual world as a key to our increased awareness. The earth itself is a strong force and has its own way of balance. So are all of the physical entities that live here. The wisdom of nature cannot be forgotten in our teachings. The cycle of life and death that we see in the physical world is part of the balance. Can it be that we need to focus on our earth powers more to raise the vibrational energy? Did we forget some important principles while reaching for the heavens?”

Everyone looked at Tythia with deep respect. As a member of the Elder Council and as a keeper of the ancient earth ways she was making a strong point. Could it be that they needed to focus more on the wisdom of the earth energies? They all pondered this idea.

“As one that has also experienced similar dreams as the others,” Tara said with some hesitancy. “I have been called to bring up a subject that may be useful as well. In my work with technology and in dealing with other people I have often come across energy in our world that I call indifferent.”

Helena, like many in the group, looked puzzled but also curious. “What do you mean, indifferent?”

Tara continued, wanting to explain what she meant in a clear fashion. “Although I have said very little to any of you about my visions, there is an energy that I sense that seems to come from the shadow side of people, from the ego. It is not necessarily bad or negative energy; it is energy from the shadow self. We all have an aspect of this in ourselves. Sometimes I feel our culture tends to suppress this or ignore it. We focus so much on the light and the higher energies that we lose touch with our shadow energies. I feel that maybe this part needs to be addressed as well?”
