"There's no need."

"Racquetball tomorrow?"

"Yes."

"Noon?"

"Fine." As Eli's cab pulled into traffic, Brock fell apart again. Biting his lip as he cried, he opened the lobby door and staggered in. Holding onto the wall for balance, Brock pushed the up button and knew he was still climbing the ladder in intoxication, not descending.

Moaning, "Daniel..." under his breath, Brock almost fell into a person exiting the elevator. He apologized profusely and used the corner of the elevator to keep himself upright.

Ascending in silence, the doors opened and he tottered out.

Fishing for the correct key, he managed to get inside his home and close the door behind him. Taking one step in, he paused, covered his face and wept.

"I'm insane! Why do I care? Why am I so devastated?

What did you do to me, Daniel Wolf, that I can't live without you!"

"You tell me."

Gasping, Brock jolted so badly it made his head hurt. "Oh, God. You're here to kill me because I know what you are."

"Am I?"

"Daniel, I'm very drunk."

"I know." He smiled in amusement.

"Will you make it nice? Or will it hurt?"

"I am not here to kill you."

"Thank God," Brock moaned, rushing over and embracing him. "I've missed you. I've been going insane."

Daniel caressed Brock's hair, rocking him in his arms.

"It feels so good to hold you again. I'm sorry, Danny. I'm weak around you. I don't know why. Maybe you have some hold on me, some power ... Can I be your lover? Your wife?

Your slave? How do vampires do that anyway?"

"Brock, you do act sillier drunk."

"If you bite me now, will you get tipsy?"

"I doubt it."

"Want to try?"

"I will bite you, don't worry."

"Did you find what you went looking for, Danny? Is that why you're back?"

Daniel held his hand and led him to the bedroom.

"Yes! Sex. Are we going to have sex?" Brock tried to unbutton his shirt. "Danny, look. I'm so hot I've stained my slacks." He pointed to the damp spot next to the zipper of his chinos. "I'm naked under them. Can you tell?" Brock rubbed his hard cock with the heel of his hand, thrusting out his hips towards Daniel. "Christ, I can come just staring at you."

"You are a remarkable man, Brock." Daniel laughed. "I never know what to expect from you."

"Is that good?" Brock stepped closer, reaching for Daniel's hand. "Here. Feel it. See? That seeps out when you are yearning to come. Like right now." Brock used Daniel's hand to stroke his length over his slacks. "Am I turning you on?"

"Yes."

"Good, because..." Brock felt a wave of orgasmic pleasure drift through him. "Because you are ...
holy crap, Danny
!"

Brock began humping Daniel's hand, feeling so hard and so close to coming he couldn't believe it. Bending his knees, leaning back for balance, Brock used both his hands to massage his crotch with Daniel's fingers. "
Aughhhh, oh,
Christ! Oh, Daniel! Ahhhh!
" Brock came, pumping sperm into his trousers, his knees gave out completely and he dropped to the floor.

Shaking his head to clear it, Brock opened his eyes. Daniel was watching him.

Brock peeled back the zipper of his pants. He was a sticky mess. "How the fuck do you do that?"

"Magic," Daniel laughed.

Not sure if he could stand without help, Brock kicked off his shoes and socks, wriggled out of his wet slacks, crawling on his hands and knees to where Daniel stood. Bowing down, he kissed Daniel's black boots. "I am your slave."

"I have no need of a slave."

Using Daniel's legs as a ladder to be able to kneel and look up at him, Brock clasped Daniel's hips when he asked, "Then what do you need me for?"

"I do not know the answer to that question."

"My blood?"

"Possibly."

Leaning closer, Brock kissed Daniel's crotch. Under his black silk slacks was a large, hard cock. Hugging Daniel tightly, Brock pressed into him, using his face to feel it, rub against it.

When Daniel reached down to caress his hair, Brock began to get emotional again. "I know I'm drunk and being sappy, but at least tell me if you're going to leave me. I can't stand not knowing."

"I wish I knew all the answers to your constant queries."

Closing his eyes, Brock rested his cheek against Daniel's dick. It didn't throb or move, nothing. But it was very hard.

"Come. Rest on the bed." Daniel helped Brock to stand, unbuttoning his shirt for him.

Holding onto Daniel to steady himself, Brock watched his beautiful, smooth hands working on the tiny buttons of his shirt.

Once it was open, Daniel pushed the material down Brock's shoulders. Soundlessly it dropped to the floor. When Brock was naked, Daniel led him to the bed. Lying down, watching, Brock's eyes never left Daniel as he disrobed slowly. "Christ, you are unbelievable, Danny. How old were you when you became a vampire?"

"Twenty-three, twenty-five?"

"You don't know?"

"No, I don't." Daniel joined him on the bed.

"Why not?"

"Because I did not know for certain the year of my birth."

"Didn't anyone celebrate your birthdays?"

An unhappy expression appeared. "No. I had no birthday parties like humans do now."

"That is so sad." Brock caressed his cheek. "It seems like you missed out on so many things."

"But I had many things as well. If I were still a human, I would be long dead, Brock. And never have seen the world as it is now."

"The world as it is now isn't so great."

"No. It is a marvel. Never tire or grow jaded of living."

"Do you like what you are?"

"At times. Mostly I do not."

"Why? Tell me the pros and cons."

Daniel ran his hand down Brock's skin, making him swoon with passion.

When Brock opened his eyes, Daniel was staring at him intently. "You're not into conversations, are you?"

"I do not know what purpose they serve other than to upset."

"It allows me to get to know you. Understand you."

"Why would you want to do that?"

"Christ, Danny. I wish you already knew the answer to that question." Brock dug his hand into Daniel's hair.

"Forgive me. You wanted to know the pros and cons?"

"Yes."

"For example. I cannot age. So, I am forever what you see. I can't get sick like you can. That AIDS you spoke of, or cancer. Nothing. And I have a few nice tricks I enjoy, like 180

breaking and entering." Daniel smiled wickedly, the tips of his teeth showing. "And of course there's the magic."

"Making me come?"

"Yes."

"Believe me, Danny, I would spurt like mad even without it. I am so turned on by you."

"How can you be sure?"

"I have been with a lot of men, babe. I know which ones flip my switch."

"But if I were to age, to change—"

"We would age and change together."

"No. I cannot believe that. Humans are shallow. Once you lose your beauty you are discarded."

"Yes. You're right. I won't deny that. And I would have raised my hand to admit it myself, before I met you."

"You are still drunk."

"Sobering up by the minute, lover." Brock asked, "What are the cons?"

After a deep contemplative sigh, Daniel replied, "I miss food. Not that I ate gourmet fare, but I still remember it tasting good. And wine. I do miss wine."

Brock smiled, remembering Daniel licking the pizza and brushing the wine against his lips.

"Of course there is also the beautiful sunshine. I hate being in eternal darkness. It is very limiting by its own nature. I have to hide in daylight. I don't like it. Not at all."

Daniel frowned in irritation. "And worse, much worse, is the need for blood."

Touching his healed wound, Brock stared at Daniel's mouth as he spoke.

"I do not want to be a parasite, a leech, sucking from humans. I hate it."

"Do you usually kill people?"

Daniel's mouth formed a tight line and he didn't answer.

Brock located Daniel's hand, holding it. "You said you were hunted, stabbed, and shot at. Was this because you had killed?"

"Why do we always talk and I regret it?"

"Baby, don't worry." Brock hugged him, instantly feeling the sexual arousal. Backing up so they could keep talking, for he was savoring this rare moment when Daniel was receptive, Brock whispered, "I don't care if you have."

"How can you not? Every other human does. They think I am a hideous monster who must be destroyed."

"No. That's not who you are."

"You are very naïve. It is exactly who I am."

"Not to me you're not."

"What am I to you?"

"You are my world. My everything." Brock cupped his face.

Daniel's emerald eyes seemed to pale slightly. He leaned closer, kissing Brock.

Brock's innards lit on fire.
Wow, that magic was beyond
belief
. Gripping Daniel's upper arm, Brock urged him to lie on top of him. Loving Daniel's weight on him, Brock spread his legs wide, bending his knees. Stretching to reach, Brock directed Daniel's cock towards his ass. As Daniel pushed Brock's knees against his chest, it opened Brock's body up for 182

penetration. Slipping in like a magic wand, Daniel's cock invaded his body and sent him reeling. "Yes ... oh, Daniel ...

ohmyGod ... ahhhh
!" Brock felt as if he were baying at the moon. His cock began throbbing and pumping out semen. The first blast hit him under his own chin. Instantly Daniel leaned down to lick it, biting down onto the healed scars.

Though Brock felt completely contorted by his position, rolled into a ball with his knees to his chest, he didn't care. All he cared about was that his lover, his man, yes, man, was in him. And once again they could share the passion and the blood.

The phone rang. He barely heard it. He didn't care.

Blue and purple sparks tickled his skin, his eyelids. A bonfire of flames was being plunged into his ass with so much passionate heat he was an inferno, molten lava.

Daniel's stifled moaning turned him on so much he wished it wouldn't stop. But it had to stop or he would die.

And he was beginning to feel drained. Before he passed out, he whispered, "Don't. I need to be with you."

Daniel raised his head, blood covered his lips. His irises were like bright green traffic signals. Brock closed his eyes so he wouldn't see or get queasy from the sight of his own blood.

"Do not worry."

Brock tried to feel comfort from his voice. Reaching up, Brock touched his neck and felt the wetness from his seeping wound, drops ran down his throat.

Without a word, Daniel leapt off of him.

As Brock recovered, shivering slightly from the sense of being bled, he unfolded his tightly wound legs and stretched them out on the mattress.

Daniel knelt beside him, tending him. "I cannot bear to do this to you."

Opening his eyes, Brock grabbed Daniel. "It's an even exchange for what you give back to me."

"But it makes you so ill. I see how pale you get."

"I do get shaken up by the sight of blood. I always have."

"Especially your own." Daniel cleaned the running drops off, applying a band-aid to the cut. After he had covered the wound, Daniel sank to the carpet, leaning back against the bed, facing the bathroom light. The red toilet tissue dropped out of his hand to the floor.

Rolling to his side, Brock combed his fingers through Daniel's long dark hair. "It's okay."

"It is not 'okay'."

A buzzing sound startled Brock.

"What is that?" Daniel asked.

"It's the lobby buzzer. Hang on." Brock stood up quickly, instantly feeling woozy. He reached out for something to steady him and found Daniel by his side. "Sorry."

"I am the one who should be sorry."

The buzzer sounded again.

With Daniel's help, Brock walked to the intercom. After pushing a button, he asked, "Yes?"

"Brock?"

"Eli?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yes."

"I called. When you didn't answer I came over to check on you."

"Oh, shit," Brock said to Daniel, "it's Eli. Can I let him up?"

"It is up to you."

"I told him what you are." Brock flinched at the look of fury on Daniel's face. "Danny!" he shouted as Daniel stormed off to the bedroom. "Shit." Pushing the button on the panel, Brock unlocked the lobby door.

Daniel was almost complete dressed when he entered the bedroom. Brock whispered, "He's okay with it."

Spinning around rapidly to face him, Daniel shouted, "How can he be okay with it? He will tell the authorities and I will be pursued!"

"Uh, no way. Please, trust me."

"I trust no one."

"Daniel." Brock grabbed him before he vanished. "You can trust me."

"Even if I did. I do not trust your friend. Goodbye."

"No! Don't you disappear, Dan!" Brock wrapped around him, trapping him.

"Do not make me lose my temper."

"Calm down," Brock ordered. "Listen to me." When he had those green eyes glaring at him, he said, "Eli is my good friend. He would never do anything I didn't want him to do."

"You are a fool!"

"Why don't you believe me?"

Daniel broke the embrace and backed up. "I have lived four hundred years because I do not trust humans!"
