Kissing Daniel's knuckles behind the women's back, Brock gave him an affectionate smile.

Once they had arrived at the parking garage level, Brock used his remote to open his car doors. Sitting behind the steering wheel, Brock didn't start the engine. Instead, he faced Daniel. "You know this is upsetting me."

"Do not let it."

"Can't you even give me a clue?"

Daniel reached out to cup Brock's jaw. "It is a simple trip.

You have nothing to worry about. Do I make myself clear?"

Brock choked up. Why was he an emotional wreck with this man and so aloof with the other men he had known?

"Danny..."

"No. Do not cry. Come here." Daniel wrapped around his neck and hugged him, kissing his hair. Nuzzling his throat, Daniel whispered, "It is for us. I do this for us. Please do not ask me anything more. I beg you."

Nodding, Brock controlled himself, trying to have faith in their connection. Daniel wiped the tears off Brock's face gently. "Let us go to your home."

"Yes." Brock started the car, clearing his throat at the awkwardness.

"You need some food?"

"I wouldn't mind. Did you eat?"

"I will eat later."

"Oh, I forgot to mention something." Brock headed out of the garage to the street. "Eli and his new friend Gary want us to go out to dinner. A foursome."

"Oh?"

"But, uh, with you going away, I guess it'll have to be when you come back."

"You want me to come to a restaurant with you and your friends?"

"That's the idea." Brock held his hand tightly as they waited at a traffic signal. "Why?" When Daniel turned to look out of the passenger window, Brock added, "You don't have to. I just thought it would be nice."

"Nice."

"Yes." Brock placed the car in first gear and proceeded through the green light. "If you're not into it it's okay."

"Dinner with friends..."

"Right." Brock stared at Daniel's profile as they passed flickering street and headlights.

"That has a very pleasant sound to it."

"Good. When you get back?"

Daniel didn't answer.

Hating himself for behaving like a nagging wife, Brock shut up.

Coming through the door, Brock held a deli sandwich in a white paper bag and brought it to the kitchen counter. "Can I get you anything, Danny?"

"No."

"Not even a glass of wine?"

"You have more wine?"

"I do."

"Is it that pink kind like you had last time? Or real wine?"

"Real wine?" Brock laughed.

"Red."

"But of course." Brock smiled and removed a bottle of cabernet sauvignon from the cupboard. After he popped it open, he decanted it, setting out two glasses. As the wine breathed, he found a plate and unwrapped his sandwich.

"Have a seat. I'll be right back." Brock removed his jacket and tie as he walked to the bedroom. Hanging up his clothing, he came back in just his crisp Armani dress shirt and trousers. Daniel was staring into space.

Brock poured him a glass of wine, setting it before him.

Filling one for himself, he sat down and took a bite of his turkey club. "Sure you don't want half? Or the coleslaw?"

"I am sure. Thank you for asking me."

"My pleasure." Brock raised the glass. "To your trip. I hope it's a success."

Daniel's green eyes darted to his with a look of anxiety.

Trying not to bombard the man with more idiotic questions, Brock tapped his glass and sipped the smooth liquid. "Nice.

Try it." As Brock chewed his food, he waited.

Daniel sniffed it, swirling it around the bell of the glass like a pro. He inhaled it again.

Watching, Brock assumed Daniel would taste it. "Is it okay? Does it smell bad or something?"

"It smells divine."

"Good." Brock ate more of his food.

Timidly Daniel raised the glass and allowed the wine to brush his mouth. Then he licked it off his lips. That was it.

"Danny, I have never met a man like you in my life." Brock sucked the mayonnaise off his finger and began eating his coleslaw.

"A man? I am not a man."

"Yeah huh? Born a woman? Sure, Dan. I'll buy that. Just give me the doctor's name who did the sex-change op and I'll write him a letter in gratitude at such an amazing job."

"What on earth are you going on about now?"

"Me? I'm not the one who comes out with completely insane lines. Not a man?" Brock finished his salad and stood, tossing the paper into the trash and rinsed his fingers in the sink. "So, are you going out of state?"

"Yes."

Brock dried his hands on a towel and stared at Daniel who was sniffing the wine again.

"Are you going to drink that?"

"No." Daniel set it aside.

"You can bring it into the bedroom."

"I am fine. Come." Daniel rose up, reaching out his hand.

Brock shot the remainder of his own wine down his throat, set his glass aside and hurried to follow Daniel into the bedroom.

Removing his shirt and trousers as Daniel undressed, Brock investigated his body more closely. There was no way in hell this man was born a woman. No. Way.

The moment Daniel was naked Brock dropped to his knees and mouthed his balls. Instantly the two of their cocks grew rock hard. Holding Daniel's hips, Brock rubbed his face into Daniel's genitals yearning to inhale his masculinity, his essence. There was no scent whatsoever and it was more annoying than puzzling. Brock wanted to smell him. He loved the aroma of men.

Taking Daniel's cock into his mouth, Brock felt his own beginning to throb and he was immediately nearing climax.

Backing off, panting to catch his breath, Brock rubbed his saliva off Daniel's cock as he stared down at his own in awe.

His dick had been left alone, bobbing and pulsating. Brock couldn't imagine being able to come by only sucking Daniel and not even rubbing against anything.

"What are you doing?"

"Huh?" Brock looked up at Daniel's gaze. "I got distracted.

It's just that when I suck you, it feels like I am sucking my own dick. Never mind."

Daniel brought Brock to stand upright, urging him to his mouth. Brock's head fell back from the passion. He savored Daniel's tongue as he lapped at his own, tasting it and swirling around it. "Have you ever sucked me?"

"I am sucking you now," Daniel purred, running his lips over Brock's throat.

"No. My dick. Most guys want to suck my dick. Have you? I can't remember."

Daniel urged Brock down on the bed, lying on top of him, meeting his lips again.

Soon all thoughts were blasted out of Brock's head. As he held Brock's dick in his hot hand, Daniel chewed the band-aid off Brock's neck, spitting it on the floor. Brock began to rise.

Sparkles of color washed over his eyelids and face. Instantly his cock began pulsating and his balls tightened as he came.

"
Ahhhh, oh, Danny! Ohhhh, Jesus Christ
!"

"One to hold you for a while."

"Augh, oh, God! Oh, my fucking gadddd
!" Brock clenched his teeth and squeezed his eyelids closed as it overwhelmed him. He kept shooting sperm against Daniel's belly and felt it drip back onto his own skin. Arching his back, whimpering in agony and ecstasy, Brock heard Daniel's groans, his mouth busy sucking at his blood, and his body writhing against Brock. There was nothing like it. Nothing.

Resting on top of Daniel as he relaxed, Brock closed his eyes and sighed deeply. Sated, madly in love, Brock knew the days apart from Daniel would drive him insane. He only hoped Daniel felt the same. How would he cope without a phone number? A reason for his trip? Nothing? Not even a time frame? The urge to keep badgering Daniel was overwhelming, but he knew there were days when Daniel 141

needed to keep to himself. Brock never got anywhere but frustrated.

"Will you buy a nice gift for me on your trip?"

His eyes closed, Daniel's laughter rumbled through his chest.

Brock smiled at having amused him. Humming in contentment, Brock leaned up to see his face again. "You are so beautiful, Danny." He pushed his long, black hair back from his forehead. "Look at your skin. It's so smooth. Like marble. How on earth do you shave so close?"

Daniel only grinned in reply.

"Can I take you to the airport? Do you need a ride?"

"No. I have it all taken care of."

"You sure? I don't mind."

"It is not necessary."

"Kennedy? La Guardia?"

"Again with more questions? You sure you did not work for the Spanish Inquisition?"

"Funny." As Brock stared, Daniel's eyelids opened, like rose petals revealing an emerald green stamen. His breath caught in his throat at the power of his stare.

"I am enjoying our time together."

"Uh oh. You're breaking up with me?" Brock asked.

"Breaking you? I am not going to break you."

"The way you said it. It sounded like some disclaimer to an announcement."

"And you say you do not understand me?" Daniel laughed softly, digging his fingers into Brock's thick hair. "Your eyes 142

reflect the blue sky. I can imagine the summertime and warm days when I look in them."

"Wow!" Brock wriggled his hips on Daniel's. "How sexy was that?"

He received a smile.

"We should plan a trip together." Brock wanted him, now and forever.

"You move too quickly."

"I know, but..." Brock bit his lip and touched Daniel's chin with his fingertip. "I feel like a man who has found his perfect fit."

"Do you? In me?"

"Why is it so hard to understand? Dan, the sex is beyond belief and we get along great. What more do we need?" When Daniel's face hardened, Brock felt like he was pushing him again. "I'm sorry. You know, if a man was acting like I am with you to me, I'd have kicked him out a long time ago. I get carried away when we're together."

"I do as well. I don't understand this attachment. Not in the least."

Brock felt his insides twist. "Ouch."

"Why do you say 'ouch'?"

"You make it sound as if you're not very happy about it."

"I am confused. Not unhappy."

Brock touched Daniel's mouth, pushing his top lip up for a peek at his fangs. "Christ, look at those. Amazing. Should I get some? So we match?"

Daniel shoved him off violently, standing next to the bed, glaring at him.

Stunned, Brock met his furious gaze. "What? I was kidding."

Daniel got dressed.

"Oh, come on. Don't go." Brock knelt on the bed.

Daniel ignored him.

"Danny, I'm sorry. It's just that they're so Hollywood Goth."

Brock gasped as Daniel grabbed him by the throat, lifting him off the bed. "Do I amuse you?"

"Dan!" Brock pushed back from him and dropped to the bed, rubbing his neck. "What the fuck was that for?"

"You mock me."

"It's just a little tease. Christ, I had no idea you were so sensitive."

"Do you think I do not know what I am? That I can play with you about it and pretend it is some parlor trick?"

"You're losing me again." Brock handed him his shirt from the floor.

After Daniel put it on, he stepped closer to Brock, nose to nose. "I did not choose this! This was thrust upon me!"

"What was? Our relationship?"

"No! This!" Daniel bared his teeth.

"Jesus ... you're scaring me." Brock recoiled.

"You have reason to be afraid, human."

"Human? Daniel, cut out the Goth crap!"

In a split second Brock was pinned to the wall, Daniel was snarling his lip menacingly, showing off his large canines.

Brock didn't know what was going on, but this was not good.

"Calm down. All right? Calm the fuck down."

Daniel released his hold, continuing to dress, sitting down to put his boots on.

Trying to regain his composure, Brock stared down at Daniel. "Maybe I was wrong about you."

Lowering his head, Daniel stood. "That is more like it. Now you despise me."

"Never."

Daniel spun around in surprise.

Brock met his stare boldly. "You heard me.
Never
."

It seemed Daniel's strength seeped out of him. His posture wilted and he appeared on the verge of tears. "We can never have what you seek."

"Why?" Brock stepped closer, challenging.

"I cannot eat with your friends at dinner. I cannot go on holiday with you. I cannot even sit with you in a sunny park."

As Daniel began to weep, Brock touched him lightly. "
Are.

You. Married
?" he spoke clearly.

"No!" Daniel cried. "I am a vampire!"

Trying not to be too irritated with Daniel's theatrics, Brock shook his head. "Come on, Dan."

"Why do you not believe?"

"Because there is no such thing. There are people who wish they were, who pretend they are. Get fake teeth, contacts, drink fucking blood for kicks, but there are no—"

Just as he was about to finish his sentence, Daniel grabbed him by the arm and dragged him to the bathroom.

Stumbling as he was shoved before the sink, Brock looked in the mirror.

"Do you see?" Daniel ordered. "Or should I rephrase that.

Do you not see?
"

A feeling of disorientation washed over Brock. He was looking at his reflection while Daniel stood at his side attached to his arm. "How did you do this?"
