"More questions." Daniel clicked his tongue in disdain.

"Come on, Danny. It's normal for me to ask these things."

"I do not work."

"Really?" Brock hung his slacks up with his suit jacket.

Wearing just his socks, shirt, and briefs, he stood at the end of the bed, staring at Daniel's fantastic form.

"I do not need to."

"Independently wealthy?"

"I suppose that is what it is called."

"Nice."

"Why are you still dressed?"

"I was going to heat up some of that leftover pizza. You mind?"

"No. You must eat. I know."

"Join me?"

Daniel hopped off the bed.

Opening his collar and removing his cuff links to set on the kitchen counter, Brock rolled up his sleeves and put three slices on a plate and into the microwave. As it hummed he noticed Daniel staring into the glass curiously.

"You can eat one."

"No. I am not hungry. I just wondered why this is buzzing."

"It's heating up the food."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Where is the fire?"

"There's no fire. Haven't you seen a microwave oven before?"

The bell rang. Brock opened the door and held the plate with a pot holder.

"It is hot!"

"Yes!" Brock set it down quickly. "Too hot."

"Amazing."

"Why do you act like some caveman who is stunned at the modern world?" Brock sat down and blew on the pizza before he bit it.

"I am always amazed at the advances of mankind. But I have no need for any of the things you possess. I suppose after so many years, one loses interest in finding out what each little new invention is. I have even grown bored of the newspapers. But now, with you here, I see all the goodies I have been avoiding. I suppose in reality they are quite fascinating."

"Why are they so fascinating?"

"Don't they fascinate you?"

"I suppose I've become jaded." Brock tried not to stare at Daniel's body as he sat across the kitchen table from him.

"There are inventions I can't even conceive of."

"Like what?" Brock ate hungrily.

"I do not know. Those tiny phones that everyone carries.

And there's the screen with all the world accessible through it."

"Computers?" Brock laughed. "Daniel, you're young! You sound like my grandmother."

"You have a grandmother?"

"Yes! Two." Brock swallowed his mouthful of pizza. "And two matching grandpas as well."

"Now you are taunting me."

"You just sound silly sometimes. And I don't get it."

"Eat. I am hungry for our love."

"For my blood you mean."

"That too."

Seeing Daniel's wry smile, Brock asked, "When did you first get into blood fetishes?"

"Centuries ago."

"Yeah, right." Brock began eating another slice. "Now I have a Goth to deal with. Next thing you'll tell me is you're into vampires and witches." Seeing Daniel flinch at the words, Brock paused in his chewing. "What? Did I hit close to the mark or something?"

"You talk too much. Finish consuming."

"Well, come on, Danny. The blood, the fangs..."

When Daniel left the room, Brock shouted, "I'm sorry!"

Hearing no reply, he threw the rest of the pizza out and hurried to the bedroom. Daniel was seated on his bed, his head in his hands.

"I apologize. I didn't mean to upset you." Brock took off his socks, draping his shirt over the chair.

"I did not choose this."

"I was only teasing. Honest." Brock rubbed his back in comfort. "Look, lover, everyone has their own way of getting 127

their rocks off. Are you kidding me? Yours is tame by comparison. I knew a guy who liked you to piss down his throat 'til he puked."

Daniel cringed.

"And another who lies under a glass table masturbating while someone else shits on it."

"Bloody hell."

"You see?"

"That's revolting."

"But each person has their own little fetish. Everyone secretly has something that flips their switch."

"What flips yours?" Daniel whispered sensuously.

"You! Christ, look at you, Daniel. You are so goddamn beautiful. I cannot get enough of you. And whatever 'magic'

you perform to make me come like that, phew!" Brock laughed. "I'm hooked!"

"You ... you don't mind I taste your blood, Brock?"

Clasping Daniel's hand tightly, Brock replied, "I did at first, Danny. It scared me. But it was because I had never had anyone do it before."

"I don't want to scare you."

"I know." Brock petted his soft hair. "But I think I understand now. It gets you off." Brock shrugged.

"There's so much more to it than 'getting me off', Brock.

So much more."

Seeing Daniel's eyes tear up, Brock cupped his face. "I am happy to share it with you. As long as you don't overdo it and make me ill."

"No! I would never!" Daniel kissed him. When he closed his eyes tears ran down his cheeks. "The way you behave with me. It is so endearing. I cannot believe I have found a person who says these things to me."

"Don't you worry. You'll hear a lot of pleasant things from me, lover." Brock brushed away Daniel's tears. "Then we have an understanding, Daniel?"

"Yes. You give me what I need, and I keep you sexually gratified."

Laughing softly, Brock added, "I hope there is more to us than that."

"More?"

"Yes."

"What more can I do for you? I will try if I can do it."

"Daniel!" Brock struggled not to laugh at his own nervousness.

"What? Tell me. Tell me and if I can do it, I will."

Brock couldn't believe what he was about to ask. But he did ask. Rules? What rules? "Love me."

"Love?"

"Yes, Daniel, love." The odd look on Daniel's face surprised Brock. He was trying hard not to get upset by it. "Don't you feel even a little bit of that for me, Danny?"

When the green color of Daniel's irises grew intense, Brock gaped at him in awe. "What? What are you thinking?"

"I am trying to remember the last person who wanted me to love them."

"Come on. Don't tell me you haven't had a string of affairs.

Danny, you're so appealing."

"I have had other conquests, yes. But none like you, believe me."

"Others you loved?"

"No. Never. You are speaking of a very strong feeling, right? A kind of attachment."

"Yes!" Brock laughed in disbelief. "Love. To feel affection, desire, to long for them. To want to protect them, keep them safe."

Daniel met Brock's eyes, they were like two lasers searing into his own. Daniel's were lava hot. "I truly believe I am beginning to feel that for you," Daniel whispered as if his own revelations shocked him.

"You do?" Brock felt his heart burst in joy.

"Yes."

Brock lunged for him, pushing him back on the bed smothering him in kisses. Daniel laughed, "It tickles when you do that."

"Baby ... I never thought I'd say this to a soul, but..."

Brock made sure Daniel was paying close attention. "I'm crazy about you, so much, Daniel, I go nuts when I'm not with you."

"You do?"

"Yes." Brock's eyes grew misty.

"I am amazed. Most men have hated me. Feared me.

Shunned me. Brock, they have wanted to kill me in the most gruesome ways."

"What?" Brock choked in skepticism. "Yeah, right."

"You have no idea, Brock. I have been hunted, shot with arrows, spears, and bullets. Loved? No man has ever loved me."

Furrowing his brows in confusion, Brock asked, "You don't have a single scar on your body. Do you live in some Dungeons and Dragons fantasy world?"

"No. I live now in your world."

Brock wrapped around him, kissing him, sucking at his tongue and feeling his cock surge instantly. "Live with me."

Groaning in agony, Daniel moaned, "I cannot."

"Please!"

"I wish I could. I would make a deal with Beelzebub only to be with you night and day."

"Why not? Why can't you move in?"

"Hush. No more talking. We are wasting the time we have."

Daniel pressed his mouth against Brock's teary eyes, making for his lips.

As he kissed Daniel back, Brock sobbed, wanting him, needing him yet not knowing why this was happening. He had never cried over anything before. Why was he feeling so much attachment for Daniel? It didn't make sense and broke all his rules ... but his rules were made to be broken.

Daniel yanked off Brock's briefs and grabbed his cock tightly. Instantly Brock felt the sparks.

"Stop being upset. Enjoy what we have, lover. For it may be all we get."

"
Ahhhh, Daniel ... oh, God
..."

"Yes, that's it ... cover me with your man sperm."

Before he plunged into the depth of multiple orgasms, Brock tore the adhesive tape from his neck. "
Take it! Take it!

Aaaah!"

"I adore you, sweet-cheeks," Daniel hissed.

Wanting to smile at the joke, Brock's body jerked as he came and his moans echoed throughout the room.

Daniel had left. Brock hated it. Lying on his bed, unable to sleep, Brock managed to get himself upright to take a sleeping pill. He couldn't tolerate the insomnia when it hit.

Lately he'd been so sexually content he was able to sleep well. Not tonight.

The clock read two and he knew his alarm was set for six thirty. Breaking the tiny pill in half, he swallowed it and crawled back into bed.

Some of the things Daniel had said were plaguing him. And it wasn't from the odd things he confided about his past. It was the fact that Daniel refused to move in with him.

"Shoot. I forgot to ask him about dinner," Brock cursed.

"Daniel! Give me your phone number!" Brooding, Brock was becoming convinced Daniel must be married. There was simply no other reasonable explanation for his secrecy, his odd hours, and his reluctance to move in. Brock knew several men he'd encountered who would have jumped at the chance to cohabitate, establish a relationship. A relationship? Was he in one of those? No one would believe it.

He imagined bringing Daniel to meet his family. Would they think he was strange with his talk about modern 132

technology and the inventions of mankind, or would they find it as charming as he did?

Slowly the pill began to dissolve in his blood. Yawning, Brock finally closed his eyes to get some rest.

Daniel paced. In the cool stone mausoleum, he strode back and forth, his boot heels echoing, his arms clasped behind him. Feeling the dawn, Daniel sat down on the floor, resting his head on his knees. Was there a way? He had no idea, but he needed to find out.

Chapter Ten

Sitting at his desk at work, Brock flipped through the New York telephone directory pages. He'd phoned every Daniel Wolf that was listed without success. Closing the cover, tossing it on the floor by his desk, Brock stood at the window looking out at the expanse of skyline and the ebb and flow of yellow taxis below. The markets hadn't opened yet and he had time to stare and think. The only plan he had was to follow Daniel once he left his penthouse. Then Brock would see his house, most likely his wife, and his children. Did he want to know? Shouldn't he just accept this situation as is?

How odd was it that he was the needy one? The one craving more and having expectations?

"Danny ... what's the real story?" Hearing Faith opening a drawer at her desk, he spun around to watch her. "Good morning, Faith."

"Good morning, Brock. I have your latte."

"Oh?" Brock approached the doorway. "You don't have to do that anymore."

"I don't mind. I pass the stand on my way."

He set twenty dollars on her desk and took the coffee.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. Anything else you need?"

"Soon. The markets are just opening here. Let me take a look at Europe." He sat at his desk and got busy, Daniel never far from his thoughts.

At four, Brock raised his head from his work. Daniel was standing at his doorway.

"Dan!" Brock jumped to his feet, took the headset off and rushed to him. "Baby!" He hugged him rocking him side to side.

"I need to go away for a few days."

"What? Where?"

"Not far."

"Why?" Brock stepped back from him. "Look, Dan, just tell me if you have a wife and kids, okay?"

"I do not have a wife and kids."

"Then why are you going away?"

"I have a matter I need to take care of."

"What matter?"

"You ask too many questions. Are you ready to go?"

"Yes." Brock shut off his computer and light, taking his jacket from the back of the door. "When are you leaving?"

"Tomorrow night."

"Why? Danny..."

"Hush." Daniel held Brock's arm as they exited the vacant office.

"How long will you be gone?" Brock pushed the elevator button.

"Not long."

"Can you give me the number of the hotel you'll be staying at?"

"I will not stay at a hotel."

They entered the elevator with two other office workers.

Brock bit his lip and didn't ask Daniel another question. He did, however, notice the women staring at Daniel in admiration.

As if Daniel sensed their interest, he moved closer to Brock, holding his hand. Brock loved it. Absolutely loved it.
