Kaname’s breath caught, as if he didn’t know what to say at

Derek’s words. Derek realized the vampire had been, in a way,

unprepared for Derek’s unwavering fidelity. It was the way of the

shifters. They gave their hearts and souls completely to their mates

once they found those special persons, and for Derek, it was the same.

Perhaps Kaname was unsettled by it. His responsibilities as an elder

might make it hard for Kaname to offer the same thing Derek did.

“It’s all right, Kaname,” Derek said with a smile. “I would never ask

you to abandon your kind. I love everything about you, including your

devotion to them.”

“And don’t you think it works both ways, Derek?” Kaname asked,

his tone half displeased. “You’re right about one thing,
hana
. I would

never keep you from your family, and I’ll do everything in my power

for us to pursue a good relationship between our people.”

His hand once more caressed Derek’s shaft, which had gone half

hard at the perspectives Kaname had presented. “Now, I believe we

came here for more enjoyable things than such conversation,”

Kaname whispered huskily.

Instantly, Derek’s body responded once more. His mind cleared of

doubts and concerns, as if the vampire had effectively wiped it clean

with one word. He knew that some people would find such an attitude

unreasonable, but Derek’s soul had connected with Kaname’s at a

level few could reach or even understand. He felt what Kaname did,

and he knew that his affection for the vampire was completely

reciprocated. At the same time, he admired his lover’s achievements

and intelligence. Kaname wasn’t only hot enough to melt the sun, but

also shrewd, smart, and cunning. It was Derek’s aim to be the perfect

partner for Kaname, in bed and out of it.

“You already are,
hana
,”
Kaname murmured in his mind.

With that, the vampire knelt behind Derek, parting his ass cheeks

once more. This time, there were no more interruptions. Kaname

swept his tongue over Derek’s crease, stabbing the slick organ inside

Derek, using it like a little cock. The sensations that exploded over

Derek were simply out of this world. He’d always been a fan of

rimming, of exploring darker, more taboo pleasures, but his sex

partners hadn’t been inclined to return the favor even if he did rim

them. In a way, it seemed like everything about him had been created

to fit Kaname. Was it like this for all mates? If so, Derek counted

himself as blessed for being born a shifter.

As Kaname’s tongue wormed its way into Derek’s ass, Derek bit

the inside of his cheek so hard he tasted blood to keep himself from

coming. The metallic flavor aroused him more than he expected. He’d

have almost thought he was becoming a vampire himself, but he knew

that what he experienced was Kaname’s response to it. As ecstasy

started to soar within him, though, it became increasingly hard for

Derek to even distinguish what he felt from what Kaname did. When

Kaname’s clever fingers rubbed Derek’s perineum and teased his

balls, Derek cried out so hard every passenger inside the plane must

have heard him. “God, Kaname. Fuck me. Fuck me now.”

Fortunately, the vampire didn’t tease him further. His tongue left

Derek’s body and he got up, moving so fast Derek didn’t even have

time to feel the emptiness within him. The sound of the zipper and the

jingling of Kaname’s buckle told Derek the vampire had dropped his

own pants. That was the last coherent thought Derek could muster.

One hard thrust, and Kaname was inside him, that thick, hard shaft

spearing Derek, stretching him to an almost painful extent.

Derek could sense Kaname’s urgency filling the vampire like his

dick filled Derek. Even so, the other man remained motionless for a

few seconds, giving Derek time to adjust. Derek welcomed it. He

didn’t necessarily need it, not for practical reasons, but it showed just

how much Kaname cared about him. In spite of the explosive passion

between them, the emotion was always stronger, permeating every

fiber of their being, engulfing the carnal component of their

relationship, bringing them together in every possible way.

It was their bond and their love that gave Kaname his cue to let go

without Derek having to utter any words. Releasing one of his

trademark growls, Kaname pulled out and thrust back in, his dick

unerringly hitting Derek’s prostate. The rapture now rushing through

Derek blinded him, numbed him to all else except Kaname.

What little part of him remained rational was aware of his own

voice begging with Kaname and calling out the vampire’s name. To

his credit, Kaname wasn’t exactly quiet himself. His raspy, husky

voice whispered Japanese words in Derek’s ear. Some, Derek

understood, others, not so much, especially since Kaname was

speaking so fast. Nevertheless, they didn’t need the tongues of men to

talk to each other, and the limitations of knowledge no longer held

any value when they were together like this. Their minds and souls

were completely in synch, so even if Derek hadn’t actually learned the

phrases Kaname used, his bond translated it all for him.

Over and over, Kaname pounded inside Derek so hard Derek’s

teeth rattled. There was no more hesitation now, no more gentleness,

just raw carnal, intensity, the chase for the orgasm that would

culminate the union of their bodies. Derek used the wall as leverage,

pushing back against Kaname, writhing, needing, crying out, and

almost weeping with the desire and pleasure overwhelming him. They

moved together like longtime lovers, two mates trapped in a dance of

passion that refused to release them no matter what happened. Hell,

for all Derek knew, the plane could be falling out of the sky and he

would not realize it.

It went on and on, until the blaze Kaname’s touch ignited within

Derek threatened to send his mind into meltdown. Every inch of his

body was alight with the bright fire of Kaname’s lust, from his hard-

as-nails cock to spots he’d never have considered as potential

erogenous zones. Even his toenails seemed to buzz with the sensual

energy building up inside him. His nipples tightened into peaks, and

small shocks of pleasure coursed through him as the material of his

shirt rubbed against them. Fuck, they hadn’t even undressed beyond

taking their pants off, and already Derek was on the edge. A certain

spot in his neck itched, as if demanding the claiming bite.

As always, Kaname gave him what he needed. One more thrust,

and then, the vampire buried his fangs in Derek’s throat, drinking his

blood in greedy gulps. Derek’s world cracked, and he screamed as he

came all over his shirt, flying higher than any plane could possibly

take him. He felt his mate’s cock pulse inside him, and as the hot

streams of Kaname’s spunk flooded his insides, Derek nearly blacked

out, the overwhelming ecstasy too intense for the body of a worldly

being to contain.

In that moment, they were no longer vampire and werewolf,

Kaname Yamamoto and Derek Wade. Their existences, their

positions, their differences and similarities, all of it ceased to matter.

They blended together into one cohesive whole, one entity that

defined itself through love and a strength that could not be defeated.

Thoughts and memories came together, the mate bond vibrating with

the intensity of physical manifestation of their emotions.

Alas, nothing could last forever, and as the haze of the orgasm

started to fade, Derek regained some of his capacity for rational

thought. He slid to his knees on the floor, spent and still in awe with

what had happened. Normally, this should have been a quickie, a fun

romp in a plane bathroom to take the edge off. Somehow, the fact that

he’d shared this with Kaname had transformed it into something

entirely different.

Kaname joined him and hugged him tight. “I know,” the vampire

said. “I thought I understood so much about the world. I had no idea,

no idea anything could be this powerful. To think I ever considered

letting you go. I’m such an idiot.”

“We’re both idiots,” Derek answered. “I should have claimed you

ages ago, when we first met.”

“True.” Kaname brushed a kiss to Derek’s temple. He might have

said something else, but outside, a new presence approached. It was

one of the plane’s flight attendants.

“Yamamoto-sama, if everything is fine in there, it would be best if

you went back to your seats,” she said. “We’ll be running into some

turbulence soon.”

“Thank you,” Kaname replied, grinning. “We’ll be right out.

Would you be so kind as to bring my mate another shirt? Just take one

from my bags.”

“Of course, Yamamoto-sama,” the flight assistant replied.

Without another word, the woman left. Derek’s legs trembled as

he struggled to get up. He grimaced as he felt Kaname’s cum trickle

out of his ass and down his leg.”You know, right about now, I really

do wish you’d gone for the bedroom-included plane. I’d also very

much appreciate a shower.”

As much as he liked Kaname’s way of branding him, trying to

investigate a serious matter while smelling like a brothel wasn’t his

idea of fun. It was actually a good thing that the flight attendant had

showed up, because his shirt was in no condition to be used.

“Don’t worry,
hana
,” Kaname told him, the smirk on his lips a

wicked promise. “I have my own way of cleaning you.”

And so, while they waited for the woman to return, Kaname

showed Derek just how much he enjoyed licking him all over, and

Derek realized that, no matter what happened from now on, living as

Kaname’s mate would sure be a wild ride.

Chapter Five

The imprisonment facility where Sophia had been held was

nothing like Derek had imagined. Located in the center of the

Northern Territory desert in Australia, it was a large compound, triple

the size of Derek’s father’s mansion home. The building itself seemed

to have been built a few decades back, but the equipment had been

top-notch, at least before the attack.

Indeed, what surprised Derek was the damage done to the

building. The reinforced doors designed to keep in check even the

most powerful of shifters had not managed to withstand the strength

of the vampires, and the attackers had blasted them away into

smithereens. The terrain still bore faint traces of gas and blood, but

the tall fences had not suffered from the same treatment the rest of the

building received. Derek had intellectually known that the vampires

must have done a lot of damage, but he hadn’t truly realized the extent

of it.

Kaname scrutinized the entire area with a critical eye. “I suppose

they came in at night,” he told Byron as they walked through the

courtyard. “Even so, this place is a death trap for a vampire. No

vegetation, high temperature. It almost seems designed to keep us

away.”

“I assure you it was not.” Byron’s voice held slight traces of

amusement. “This land was owned by the Bristols for a very long

time. Shortly after the revelation of the existence of the paranormal

world, Malcolm and I decided to build this place here, so that we’d

have a secure place to transport problematic individuals. Sophia’s

elder, Lou Figgs, also cooperated with us and has been keeping an eye

on it since.” His tone grew graver, to a certain extent, sad. “He’s

waiting for us in Sydney, where many of the injured shifters were

transported.”

“I see,” Kaname answered. Derek could feel his mate’s anger and

frustration. Kaname seemed to have a special sense to detect his

people and could tell vampires had indeed been here. “Could you

show me where she was being held?”

“Of course.” Byron led the two of them inside, with their

companions, Noah and Rhys, following after them. The rest of their
