Chapter 3

The next morning, she took her time getting ready. She wasn't prepared to go in and hear Phil's constant berating as she tried to do her work. The thought of losing her job was the only thing that kept her motivated. When she checked her phone, there were already missed calls and texts from Jackson. She cleared them all from her screen without looking at them. It wasn't time yet, she didn't want to talk.

The end of the day couldn't come soon enough. At one point the systems were down, costing the company money. Phil somehow decided this was her fault. He wouldn't stop lecturing her, sending her on errand after ridiculous errand. When the work day was finally over, she left before he could say another word.

Holly had plans for Jenny to come over, which she did an hour later. They sat together on the couch, the remote in Jenny's hand as she looked for something to watch. Mostly, she was just surfing through the channels. It was driving Holly crazy.

“How was your date?” She asked as she continued to surf.

“It was okay.”

“Okay? It was okay? What do you mean it was okay?”

“I mean I had a really nice time. Until Jackson punched some guy in the nose and saw nothing wrong with it.”

Jenny raised an eyebrow. “Why would he do that?”

Holly sighed. “I don't know. The guy was being a jerk to me. When he came out, he must have heard him. Then he punched him in the face.”

“So,” Jenny said dragging out the word, “he was protecting you.”

“It wasn't protecting. It was mean, violent and irresponsible. And I don't want to talk about it anymore,” Holly said as she plucked the remote from Jenny's hand.

The woman nodded. “Fine. I just think a guy like that, who would protect you no matter the situation, isn't such a bad guy. At least give him another chance. Just think about it.”

Holly didn't want to think about it. She settled on a comedy, but she found it hard to laugh. As much as she told herself that she didn’t want to talk to Jackson, she did. There was a longing in her chest that made her want to pick up the phone to call him at that exact moment, but she wouldn't let herself.

As the days rolled by, Jackson kept trying to contact her. Holly considered changing her number, but secretly she would peek at the messages. They all went much the same way. He was sorry, he wanted to apologize if he scared her. He missed her.

The last message sent a pain through her gut. She missed him too. Friday was fast approaching, she wasn't sure how she was going to stand being all by herself the entire weekend. Her fingers grazed over her phone as it sat on the couch beside her. She was dressed comfortably in her gray shorts and a black tank top, a beer in her hand, when there was a knock on the door.

“Food,” she mumbled to herself as she moved to answer it.

Holly threw the door open. She stopped. Jackson stood in her doorway, drenched by the chilly Michigan rain that had started that afternoon. He grabbed her into his arms, before he pressed his lips against hers. Holly melted against him, the tension that had built within her belly leaving so quickly that she didn’t fight back. Jackson pulled away.

“You were really just going to ignore me?” He asked, sounding out of breath.

“You deserved it.”

“Did I? I remember standing up for you, because I was worried, scared when I saw that guy pawing over you like an animal. Can't you understand that?”

Jackson's hands were curled around her shoulders. She had been acting cruel, but it wasn't really because he'd hit some jerk that was hitting on her. She was afraid. Afraid to fall for him when he would soon be gone again.

“You don't care anyway,” she said as she pulled away from him. “You'll be off, living your dreams. I'll still be stuck here taking orders from an asshole who grabs my butt on a daily basis. You don't understand what I'm going through, at all.”

“I don't? Do you think I wanted to leave you all of those years ago? I begged to stay! I cried over you, now you don't even care. You're really just being selfish and a brat.”

“I'm not a brat! Stop calling me that,” Holly said as she looked away from him.

“Oh, yes you are. I have a solution for it though.”

When Holly turned to ask him what he meant by that, he was shedding the leather jacket that he wore. His strong arms slipped from the sleeves as he threw it to the ground. Holly had a hard time swallowing. Before she knew what was happening, he led her over to the couch.

“What are you doing?”

Jackson didn't answer. Instead, he pulled her over his knee. Holly felt a flush color her cheeks, color her body. He had obviously remembered their conversation earlier in the week. She tried to wiggle away from him, but he pinned her with one leg before he pulled her shorts down her thighs. Holly felt the wetness build within her pussy just from that action alone.

She was pinned, unable to twist around to see what he was doing. That's when she felt it. The blissful thud, followed by the fiery stinging of his hand landing against her ass. His fingers ran over her skin, soothing her before he did it again. Again. Holly lost count as he spanked her more, her mind dissolving into a puddle.

Jackson ran his fingers between her thighs, ran them over her wetness. She shivered at the unexpected invasion, but silently begged for more. Jackson delivered one more hearty smack to her ass, making her yelp. His fingers trailed up and down her flesh, soothing the red skin there.

“Are you finished with your temper tantrum?” He asked in an equally soothing voice.

Holly nodded. She winced as another slap landed on her ass. “I mean, yes.”

“Do you understand that I made a mistake? That I will try to control my temper in the future?”

She could feel his hand poised in the air. Holly nodded quickly. “Yes.”

Jackson's fingers went back to running over her skin. “Do you accept my apology?”

“Yes, I do.”

There was a moment of silence before Jackson spoke again. “Do you realize that I don't plan on leaving you behind? Ever again?”

Holly's heart leaped into her throat. “Do you promise?”

“I promise,” the answer came without hesitation.

“Yes,” she said quickly.

Jackson let her up, but he wasn't done with her. He ripped her clothes from her body, with little remorse to the the clothes themselves. Holly was just as eager, pushing his clothes off, taking his greedy kisses as he slipped his tongue into her mouth. His fingers slipped inside of her as he pushed her onto the couch, the wetness they encountered told him that she was more than ready.

They didn't waste any time. Jackson gripped his cock, the impressive width slipping inside of her after several test thrusts. Once he was inside, he wrapped his arms around her. Holly let out a moan as he pumped away. Her fingers gripped his waist, her legs wrapping around his body as he went deeper and deeper.

Jackson's lips wrapped around her nipples, his tongue flickering over her sensitive flesh until she was a ball of nerves. His breathing matched hers; halting, stuttering, deep. Jackson worked a hand into her hair, pulled her head to the side to expose the smooth, pale flesh of her neck. His tongue ran over it, teased her into a frenzy before he bit into her neck making her toes curl. She moaned so deeply that he could feel the vibrations within his own chest.

They stayed like that for what felt like hours, their fingers and tongues eager to explore each others bodies. Jackson pushed her into every position he could think of, slapped her ass until she was moaning non-stop. All the while, his hands would find a way into her raven locks.

Holly's legs were trembling, her pussy clenching wildly around him as she panted. She shook her head. The wave of pleasure that was about to crash over her had hit its peak. Holly cried out as it hit her, threw her hips back against him as she tried to feel every bit of pleasure that she could. Jackson's hands gripped her hips. His fingertips dug in as he too moaned deeply, came inside of her as she continued to ride the waves of pleasure.

When they were done, they panted in each other's arms. Holly wasn't sure what set them off, but they both started laughing loudly. They slipped into the shower, before Jackson had to reorder food for them. Holly couldn't stop gazing at him, couldn't stop smiling.

When morning approached, Holly didn't want to have to leave Jackson's side. The warmth of his skin radiated, making her want to scoot closer to him. As she slipped from the covers, his fingers reached out for her. She let him hold her back for a moment, before she insisted that she had to go to work.

“Are you sure you're not just running?” He asked.

Holly could see the concern in his eyes. She walked back to the bed, climbed inside of it on her knees, before she bent over him. Her lips traced his cheek, down to his lips where she kissed him so deeply that she wanted to sigh.

“I'm not going anywhere. I promise,” she whispered against his ear.

When she pulled back, he was smiling at her. Holly showered and dressed quickly, but she was still late for work. It was just the fuel that her boss needed. He was extra hard on her that morning, yelling at her for every tiny bit of wrongdoing. Holly was near tears before they'd even made it to lunch.

Chapter 4

As she was preparing his coffee, she heard a knock on the door frame. She turned her head to see Jackson standing there in his jeans, jacket and boots. Her face lit up as she ran to him. Holly's arms circled around his neck.

“What are you doing here?” She asked when they'd peeled themselves apart.

“I just brought this. You left it on the nightstand,” he said holding out her phone.

Just as she was about to thank him, she could hear Phil yelling her name from his office. She kissed Jackson on the cheek, thanked him before she slipped the phone into the waistband of her skirt. As she picked up the coffee, she headed out into the office with Jackson in tow.

“There you are! What the hell are you doing? First, you were late. Now, you have company? Do you even want a job anymore? Answer me!” Phil demanded.

Holly started to apologize as rows of eyes landed on her and Jackson. She stopped.
I don't have to take this. I don't have to put up with his abuse.

As she poured his cup of coffee into a nearby trashcan, Holly held her head up high. The people around them gasped, their eyes going wide as they looked from her to Phil. When the liquid was gone, she threw the mug into the can too. The sound of breaking porcelain filled the now silent office.

“Phil? Fuck you. You’re a balding, self-absorbed, miserable, sexist asshole and nobody likes you! Not even the CEO’s like you. You’re a weasel. And you know what else? I quit.”

Holly smiled as she gathered up her purse. She could see Jenny in the corner, stifling a laugh. She waved at everybody as she walked out with Jackson's hand in the small of her back. When they were outside, she burst into laughter. The relief of doing something that she'd wanted long ago made her feel so light.

“You crazy brat. What are you going to do now?” Jackson asked with his hands shoved into his pocket.

“I don't know. Maybe I'll get another job...” she trailed off as she started walking.

“Or,” Jackson said dragging out the word, “you could hop on the back of my bike and come on tour with me. I mean, it's not always as awesome as a bike, sometimes it's a private jet or a really huge bus, but I think you'd like it.”

Holly smiled up at him. “You know what? I'm going.”

Jackson smiled. “Are you sure? Life on the road can be hard.”

“I’ll be with you,” she said feeling the butterflies in her stomach awaken, “that’s all I need right now. Besides, a little freedom after that jail cell would be really nice.”

Jackson pulled her close to him, planted a kiss on her forehead. She sighed, as she closed her eyes. When she opened them again, Jackson was staring down at her. The look in his eyes was enough to send shivers through her body.

They spent the rest of the day packing and falling back into bed together. Finally, Jackson declared that they had to learn some self control if they were ever going to finish packing her things up. As Holly tried to contain her giggles and they started working, there was a knock on the door.

“I can't believe you did that!” Jenny said as she walked through the door, still in her work clothes. “Are you crazy?”

Holly grinned. “I couldn't take it anymore.”

“You should have seen Phil after you left, he was so pissed!” Jenny paused as she looked around the living room. “What's going on?”

“I'm leaving with Jackson tomorrow. He has the rest of his tour to do, I'm going along.”

“Jenny's eyes lit up as she pulled Holly into a deep hug. “Good for you! Live enough for both of us,” she added sadly.

“I will,” Holly said with a laugh.

They all spent the rest of the night packing up Holly's things, arranging what was going to be put into storage the next day. Jackson whipped them up some tacos before they continued working with one of the westerns he still loved on the screen. Around midnight, Jenny let out a long yawn before she called it a night.

“I'll be back to help tomorrow,” she said hugging Holly again.

Once the door was closed, Holly leaned against it. Jackson walked over to her. His soft lips moved against her slowly, teasingly. He pulled away.

“Are you happy?” He asked.

“Very, very happy,” she answered back, with a smile on her face.

Jackson picked her up into his arms, making her yelp. She couldn't wait to tell him someday soon how much she already loved him. How she'd loved him since they were kids. For now, it could wait. Even if she could see it in his eyes.

Jackson loved her too.
