“Reed,” she coos eagerly. “You made me wait more than I was supposed to.” She presses her hand against my cheek. “Do I have to tell you again?” she murmurs, positioning my cock over her wet pussy. Her hazel eyes glitter. The look of lust and heat in her eyes is erotic. I’m too hard to think.

“Oh fuck, baby,” I groan. “I’m taking you places, doll. To faraway places.”
I hungrily slide my cock into her and savor the exquisite feeling. Oh fuck, feeling her tighten around my dick steals my breath away. “God, baby, you feel so good,” I grit as I plunge into her hard, and she screams my name as I feel her muscles constrict around me as she wraps her legs around my back. I pull back and lunge into her hard again, and again. She whimpers and moans with each thrust. It’s driving me insane listening to the sexy noises she makes when I pound her.

“Yes, Reed.” She pants, throwing her head against the pillow, clutching me and digging her nails into my back. I thrust harder and faster. I love the way she yells my name and the way she encourages me to give her more. I increase my momentum, wanting to feel every piece of her.

“Does that feel good?” I growl.

“Oh, yes, yes.” She pants.

She’s going to come. I can feel her core tighten around me, squeezing my dick and I can’t stop thrusting into her. She pulses underneath me and when I feel her climax around me, I feel the rush surge through me like a shotgun.

“Oh fuck!” I growl as I come hard before I collapse, pressing my body on hers and feeling her erratic, sweet breath race down my neck. I stay buried deep inside her with my face nestled in the crook of her neck as we both catch our breath.

“Wow,” she whispers, brushing her lips over mine when I turn to her. “You’re better than I remember you.”

I smile as I roll over and pull her close to me. “I haven’t slept with another woman since we last saw each other. I needed to know how you truly felt before I could move on. I didn’t know if we would ever be together like this again. You’re mine. I won’t share you with anything or anyone. I’ll give up my dream so that you can fulfill yours,” I whisper, taking in her eyes as they take my soul. I can’t be without her now, and she knows it. She smiles, taking my face in her hands.

“You are my dream.”

“What are you doing to me?” I reply in a strained voice, getting lost in her eyes.

“If it feels anything like I’m feeling, you should be happy.” She inhales and steals a kiss from me. She can fucking rob me blind for all I care. Her smile wanes as I see the uncertainty in her eyes. She’s trying hard to hide it, but it’s definitely there. I can see it.

“Hey, are you okay?” I ask, brushing the hair away from her blushed face. “I promise I won’t hurt you again. I won’t leave you. I love you.” My words do nothing to eliminate the look in her eyes. I get nervous and lean up on my elbow. “What’s wrong, Elle?”

She doesn’t speak for several unsettled minutes as we both try to catch our breath. Even though her silence is killing me, I wait. Her body tenses as she turns to look at me.

“When you were gone, I...” She starts winding her hair around her finger. I know this is not going to be good. “I was angry, so wounded that I leaned on Tyler,” she whispers. “He helped me get through it.”

“I’m glad for that, baby. I know he cares about you. I wouldn’t want it any other way,” I reply, kissing her forehead.

“I thought you weren’t coming back, and things between us started to...get confusing. I needed Tyler.”

My heart is beating faster than I ever remembered as the worst kind of jealousy consumes me like a raging fire. I just poured out my heart to her. I frown at what she’s insinuating. I remember the thoughts that ran through my fucking mind when I saw them together at the airport and that night out when he was touching her. I tug the hair at the nape of my neck and sit up from the bed. I’m livid that I left her hanging and pushed her into Tyler’s arms. “Fuck. Don’t tell me...” I breathe, staring at the floor. I start to
rise, disgusted with myself for my actions. My throat closes, and I can’t speak.

“Reed, let me finish.” She sighs as she grabs my arm.

I sit back down as she slides closer to me, pressing her body against my back. I’m unable to look at her without thinking of her with Tyler. I want to punch something, but instead, I clench my hands in front of me and close my eyes. She inhales a deep breath and wraps her arms around my waist and stares at me with her expressive eyes.

“My heart hasn’t beaten the same since I met you and when you disappeared, I was devastated. I only had Tyler, but once I saw you again…” Her voice breaks as she wipes a tear from her eyes. “Those feelings came back. They were never gone. I couldn’t let anything happen between Tyler and me. I couldn’t hurt him, knowing I still felt this way about you.” I’m losing my breath, but stay quiet as she whispers, “I couldn’t. I love both of you too much to hurt either one of you.”

My chest tightens when I hear her words.
“What are you saying, Elle? The fact is I haven’t been with anyone else since I left you, and now you’re saying had I not come back, you would have moved forward with Tyler? Am I missing something here, because so help me, I’m about to go find him and give him a piece of my mind for moving in on my girl when he knew I came back for you.”

She takes my chin and turns me to face her searching my eyes.

“Reed, trust me when I say what happened between Tyler and me was a mistake, and up until last weekend, I was completely in the dark about why you came back. You came back because you truly love me,” she says. “With Tyler it’s always been too good of a friendship for me, one that I couldn’t risk throwing away. We never slept together. I never took things there because someone had already occupied that space in my heart. I love you so much. I only want you. No. One. Else.”

I close my eyes and let out a long, deep breath. Despite the shock of finding out about Tyler, I believe her. I turn and take her in my arms. I caress her mouth with my thumb angling my eyes to her. “Baby, I won’t leave you ever again. I promise. I need you to promise me that you won’t leave me. No matter what.”

“I’m lost without you. I won’t ever leave you.” I hold her tighter, staring into her sparkling hazel eyes. “I’ve never known this kind of feeling before, and I don’t want it to end.”

I touch her heart. “You stole my heart the first time I saw you. Every last piece of it is yours.”

“I guess we’re stuck with each other then.”

“I can’t imagine a better place to be.”

It’s been two weeks since the night that Piper’s plan brought us together, but it feels like he was never away. Falling in love is beautiful, dangerous, and unpredictable. It’s takes you for a ride; some things pan out, and some things don’t. At first I was unsure of what I was feeling, what to do with myself or if I could trust the emotions. It was a voice whispering into my ear, telling me to trust it and I did. I now find myself where I’ve always wanted to be. With Reed.

The wind gnaws at my skin as I walk from the center to my apartment. The temperature has dropped into the forties. The trees in the front yard are completely naked and fluffy, gigantic piles of leaves have appeared on the front lawn as I trot up the stairs. I’ve been checking the mailbox every day for possible acceptance letters for medical school. It’s empty today, which is fine by me, since it means there are no bills that need to be paid either. When I reach the threshold of my apartment, I pull off my Uggs, hang up my coat and drop my backpack in the living room before I head into the kitchen to get something to drink.

Since Reed has begun staying with me some nights, my apartment feels complete now. I love having his scent lingering in my apartment. He has mentioned the cohabitating idea, but I have brushed it off for now. Not that I don’t love the idea. I’d love to wake up with him every morning; it’s just that I’ve never lived with anyone besides my family. I also love the idea of not sharing the bathroom with anyone, but I do like the fact that the shower is big enough to fit Reed and me with room to spare. I haven’t heard from him since this morning. I’m anxious to see him tonight, so I grab my phone and text him as I walk to my bedroom to change.

Elle: I’m home.

Reed: U ready?

Elle: I need a few minutes to get out of these clothes.

Reed: Wait. I’m five minutes away. I can help you.

Elle: U know I’m impatient.

Reed: I won’t keep u waiting
.

I smile knowing he is minutes away. I slip out of my jeans and pull my tunic over my head, recalling the memory of us christening the shower. The roar of his Hummer pulling up in front of my apartment jolts me from the steamy episode. I grow apprehensive when his heavy footsteps hit the steps and I hear the key in the door. He said five minutes, and it’s only been about one. I’m not complaining.

He is returning from football practice with Jace. I wonder if he’s going to have another story to tell me about my little brother giving him crap. It’s not that bad anymore. Jace is starting to warm up to Reed after our talk. I think he realizes that Reed is not going anywhere anytime soon.

We are going to pick up is sister Juju and his best friend Tommy from the airport in thirty minutes. That’s why he’s a little early tonight. I hastily try to find something to wear. I don’t want to be the reason why he is late picking them up. I’m a little nervous to meet his family. He told me not to worry, but I am. I’ve always been slightly uncomfortable when meeting people for the first time.

We plan to take them out on the town tonight and then out for Halloween this Thursday. It’s a major event at the Lansdowne Pub. Luke coordinated everything. It makes me wonder what Luke does for work, if he even works at all. It seems he spends more time barhopping and partying than anything else and knows pretty much where the next big event is.

“Best view ever.” I spin around in the direction of his smooth voice and immediately soak him in. He’s leaning against the doorjamb with one leg crossed over the other and holding his arms behind his back, looking as impeccable as ever. His shaggy brown hair is just the right length, resting at the nape of his neck, just enough for me to pull. He’s wearing a pair of deep blue warm-up pants that hang loosely on his narrow hips and a matching blue jacket unzipped at the neck with a tight, white T-shirt peeking underneath. Reed has become more toned and defined with all the training he’s been doing for NFL tryouts. I am definitely reaping the benefits of that right now. A smirk crosses his face as his piercing blue eyes scan every inch of my scantily clad body. I know all too well what’s on his mind. His sensual eyes remain on me as he strolls toward me and pulls out a box from behind his back.

“For you.” He winks, kissing me hungrily on the lips. He smells freshly showered and spicy and tastes like minty like his toothpaste.

I squint my eyes at him, taking the plain white box with a big red bow and ribbon from his hands. After agreeing for him to pick out my Halloween costume, he’s been like a little boy at a candy store. I catch the smirk on his lips and the glimmer in his eye when I hold it in front of me.

“What’s wrong?” He asks with a laugh.

“I’m just worried about what’s in this box.”

“Don’t be. Trust me. You’ll love it as much as I do.”

“Well, isn’t that reassuring?” I grin, poking him in his chest.

“No need to worry. You’re going to look delicious.” The corners of his mouth turn up wickedly. “You’re with me and only me.”

“Oh, aren’t we being a little possessive?”

“Maybe a little.” He looks down at me and plays with strands of my hair. “Speaking of a little, I need a lot. Right now,” he says, grabbing me by the waist. “Trick or Treat?” He winks.

“That all depends on what’s in this mysterious white box,” I reply with a quirked eyebrow as I set the box down on the dresser. Closing the space between us, he groans in satisfaction when I rub my body against his.

“Don’t worry about what’s in there. I need something sweet,” he growls, running his lips down my neck as he gently backs me up toward the bed.

“First, I get to choose what you’re going to be for Halloween.” I give him a beguiling smile as I eye him up and down, imagining him in a snug-fitting gray and blue uniform. “Cop.”

“Cop?” he replies, raising an eyebrow.

“Yeah, I’ve always had a thing for men in uniform,” I whimper, placing my palms flat on his chest and sliding them down to the waist of his pants. “I have this fantasy of you frisking me and cuffing me to the bed.”

“Oh fuck I’m loving this fantasy of yours,” he moans. Grabbing my ass, he tightly presses me against his heat. “I can definitely make that come true for you.”

“What the charge, Officer Reed?”
